Guest Reviews
- grahamb235 (10/5): Welcoming stay - Came as a group and we had 4 rooms and stopped 2 nights.
I stopped in Room 4.
Room was perfect in terms of having fridge/freezer/amenities in bathroom and also coffee and tea making facilities.
Bathroom was very good too.
(Have to say there was some noise as the room faces the main road (I chose to have my window open) but they do provide earplugs which was a nice touch.)
I thought it was ideally situated near major landmarks and also benefited from having a Tesco next door which came in handy.
We also ate at the attached restaurant one afternoon and all our party really enjoyed the food and drinks. (You get a 10% discount). We shared a couple of platters as a starter and then the majority had the fish and chips whilst I had the scampi and someone else had the chicken burger. Clean plates all around!
Final thing to mention is that the hotel were very obliging in letting us drop off our luggage before check-in and also stored them on our final day which was so helpful.
Great place to stay!
- Destination779997 (10/5): Cozy house with great communication - We stayed in room 5, the King Bedroom. It was great! It's a little off the main streets, but easily within walking distance of the popular tourist streets and public transportation. It is next to a Tesco grocery store and close to attractions. Clean, affordable, convenient location, and comfy beds. I couldn't have asked for more.
- ZilioAna (8/5): Delicious - I don't know why the restaurant don't have a page here just for itself, so I'm here to write that the Kingfisher Restaurant is an amazing place to have fish & chips. The place is beautiful, the staff if great and the food is delicious (and should have smaller portions, if you don't eat much or is not hungry is best to request 2 plates and share).
- W2785YFyvonnec (10/5): Omg Fab Fish n Chips - Worth paying for quality. Fab, fresh fish with homemade chips. Garlic sauce was lush.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Service is timely.
Little bit tight on space between tables.
Found it odd that there is a till in the kitchen. Would not have thought that would pass Food Hygiene Standards as money is not clean.
- 323declanb (6/5): Only ok - First time I’ve tried this place, thought it was very pricey €22 for cod, chips with a beer. Food was nice but small portion of chips. I thought for that price I’d get some tartar sauce and peas.
The lady was nice as I sat down but hardly a thank you or goodbye when I was leaving. It felt like “you’ve eaten now on your way”
One of those places I’ll visit once but wouldn’t be pressed on returning in a hurry
- Lduck (4/5): - We were woken from our sleep to move rooms, as we had been put in the wrong room, then to be told we had to move again the following day, we were very amendable and was offered a £50 meal voucher and wine to be then told we owed more money so we returned these. Hotel itself lovely just disappointed that they felt this was ok
- Bryanna (10/5): - Super cute hotel! Friendly service and helpful as well. Definitely will be my first pick when i return.
- Ramged (10/5): Good small hotel in Dublin's centre - Nice small hotel in perfect location. No lift, but it wasn't problem for us. Breakfast is served in restaurant next door. Tesco supermarket is very close,-20 m from apartments, another one -Lidl- across the street. Wifi works perfect. Free water, coffee and tea in the room. If departure is late, so you can leave your bags in luggage room.Recommend for all.
- dbrailsford8 (8/5): If you like fish n chips! - Service great good atmosphere and fairly price al this in the centre of the city where walking is easy varied menu with specials of good variety always busy which is a sign of great value we did not try desserts but will come again
- Lestajesta (6/5): Good Location - I stayed at the Kingfisher Townhouse for a couple of nights in January, on what was my first visit to the Emerald Isle. I arrived here at around 9.45am, check in was not until 3pm, but i was allowed to leave my small bag with them in reception an come back later to check in.
From where you are here on Parnell Street, there is a big Tesco's next door as well as other eateries/shops/bars within stones throw away.
To be fair the location was good as you are around the corner from O'Connell Street, which is a major street for shopping/eateries etc and is also where the airport link buses stop. As well as this you are only 10/15 minutes walk from the Temple Bar area.
I had a good room on the second floor, the stairs leading up to the room are quite narrow. The room itself was quiet yet it was cold an so had to use the electric wall heater. You have tea/coffee making facilities also in the room.
The tv remote control is the strangest remote i have ever used, and the most annoying too - as it does not have any numbers on it just a up an down button which means that when you want to watch the tv you have to scroll through all the tv channels, i had about 400 channels, out of which i guess about half of them worked, an from that alot of the channels repeated themselves, as there was about 12 itv channels all from different regions of the UK. An also a blue rectangular box would come up on the bottom on the screen telling you what is on next which was a waste of time also as it didn't stay on long enough to read it and also it was always wrong as the time on the tv was out by an hour - in all the countries i have been to all over the world, i have never seen a tv or remote like it, its ridiculous. Just program the tv with 5 channels, job done.
The room was also a bit dated and the furniture in there was mismatched, like everything was just thrown together, nothing matched.
The bed was a small double, an not a standard double, but it was comfortable.
If you have Breakfast here, it is served in the Kingfisher Restaurant next door from 9am to 1pm - you have to get a slip of paper from reception prior to going an give it to the waitress/server when ordering.
You have a choice from a brief menu, but i can recommend the full Irish Breakfast, it was ideal and just want you want to start the day (see photo). I would get there for 9am every morning and at that time there would be about a dozen people already in there, an it would start to fill up from around 9.30am onwards. Its not that big in size inside, as there is only about 18 tables, some of which only seat two people.
The reception is manned 24 hours, and i found that all the staff were always on hand if and when called upon for any questions that i had especially the lovely Morgana, who was very helpful.
You have to hand your key in at reception everytime you leave the Kingfisher.
I had a 4pm return flight and so i checked out at just before 12pm (check out is up to 12pm), i left my bag at reception an collected it just before 4pm.
- leannekoi (8/5): Decent food - We were staying in the hotel which in run by the same family.
We ordered a lasagne and a smoked pollock fish and chips. Sizes were ok, not too big or small but the taste was very good.
Prices were also reasonable, a nice place for a quick bite to eat.
- Angela (10/5): Great location for city break. - Very enjoyable stay at Kingfisher. Location excellent. Staff just lovely and so helpful. Food was excellent. Would definitely stay there on my next visit.
- Greg (10/5): Nice clean accommodation - Nice clean accommodation. Staff all very friendly No lift and a lot of stairs. Didn't have time to try the breakfast but will next time.
- Hola4876 (6/5): Maria is very helpful - First & foremost, Maria at the front desk was very, very helpful. She helped us find the parking area & was very considerate.
Second - as to the facility. It is clean & located close to landmarks but....there are 3 stories, no elevator, the steps are quite narrow. I'd think a large suitcase could be a problem to lug up the stairs. The windows open onto a very busy street; with the windows open, it was a good temperature in the room but it was very, very loud. With the windows close, it was stuffy but quiet. A fan in the rooms would be extremely helpful. Breakfast is served at the Kingfisher Restaurant; no complaints. When I'd asked about parking, I was told they had some. Upon arrival, we discovered it is available only if reserved in advance. Fortunately 1 of the 4 spaces was open & we were able to pay for it & use it for our rental car. If you stay here, try to get a room in the back away from Parnell Street & if you have a car, be sure to obtain a parking spot.
- U3934WMkatem (10/5): Best fish and chips in Dublin - After a long flight I arrived in a rainy, cold Dublin. We had booked into an hotel in Parnell Street, close to The Kingfisher Restaurant.
We booked a table and the bottle of wine was on ice waiting for us when we arrived, great.
The service was friendly and efficient. The food; we all chose fish and chips which was a good decision.
I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, the excellent food and the super service.
I would recommend this restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The friendliness and professionalism at the front desk is especially welcoming! And the location is excellent too!
- PatriciaBaskin (8/5): - Location and restaurant attached for breakfast.
Help with parking.
Friendly staff.
- Brandon (10/5): Will Recommend! - It was a great location! The staff was friendly and so helpful! Our rooms weren’t ready so we checked our luggage into the front seat and when we came back later that day they had taken our luggage to our room for us!
- Bettina A (8/5): - Well located ,, a bit noisy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely townhouse in the centre of Dublin. Great facilities with friendly welcoming staff and 24hr reception.
Very good extra touches such as bottled water and complementary coffee in the adjacent cafe.
Breakfast was fantastic with a good choice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really friendly staff and great breakfast! Stairs were a bit of a challenge
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect place to stay! - This place is in a perfect location. The staff went over and above for everything and I was really impressed with the room!
- jim (10/5): nice stay - This was a good choice for a hotel away from the 'bar' area....the room was what we expected and it was just fine. Easy to take the bus to the airport etc...so we couldn't have asked for much more....
- Chow Ying (10/5): Great customer service - The hotel is conveniently located although it can be noisy due to the street traffic and construction across the street. Staff at the hotel, however, were exceptional. They were very friendly and helpful; definitely exceeded our expectations.
- LadyDL01 (6/5): Decent - Overall we had a decent stay. The room is a bit dated, but it’s very spacious. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Although there isn’t a lift, the staff brought our baggage up to our room on the top floor. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but we were given a coupon for 10% off and free coffee at the shop next door. There is no AC - I repeat: NO AC! I didn’t realize this when we booked and it happened to be unseasonably warm during the day making the room stuffy despite having the windows open. A fan would have helped circulate the air. At night it was cool and comfortable but the seagulls start up at 4am so hubby didn’t sleep well. It wasn’t terrible. I feel it was an authentic experience.
- Michael (8/5): I loved this place. - When I originally booked this hotel I booked for the wrong date. Since I had had to pay for the hotel when I booked it and there was a no refund policy I was at the mercy of the hotel. I immediately contacted them and they changed the date for my reservation, no problems. We got in late but that was no problem, as the receptionist is at the front desk 24/7. There is no air conditioning as in many European hotels, but it was not a problem as Dublin is cool, even in July. There also was no elevator, but the hotel provided someone to bring our bags to our room (a BIG plus for my wife). The street was noisy below but the hotel provided earplugs. Really nice and clean. Mattresses are good. Looking forward to my full Irish breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good shower. Comfortable bed. Front desk staff was very nice and accommodating
- 616jimw (10/5): Warm welcome - The hotel is clean and comfortable, well located for bus transportation and walking in the center city. But the best -- the staff. Everyone was so welcoming that we enjoyed walking through the door and being greeted with a smile. It is rare to find persons in the hospitality industry who seem to truly like their profession, but everyone we encountered at Kingfisher was dedicated to making us at home. The attached restaurant and coffee shop are great locations for a meal or just a coffee. And, like the hotel, the staff at both locations are warm and friendly. Special kudos to Maria in the hotel, Carla and Luca in the restaurant, and Costa in the coffee shop.
- 905henningj (8/5): A good, central choice - I recommend this hotel to you
+ friendly and helpful staff
+ great location, you can reach everything by foot
+ good newly renovated bathroom with great shover
+ good breakfast at the associated restaurant beside it
+ good beds, and it was silent in our room (to the back)
+ the room was clean
+ very fast free internet access
The drawbacks
- narrow stairs and no elevator
- the design of the rooms is quite dated
- not cheap
It is a fair deal: they tell you about the missing elevator, and you know the price before ... so you can decide if you would choose it or not. I would definitely go there again.
- DanandKay (2/5): Very Disappointed - I’ll start with the positives. It’s clean. Beds are fine. Attached restaurant is good. Desk attendants were friendly. Beyond that, we were very disappointed and felt unsafe during our one night at the Kingfisher. Be advised there is no elevator and a single narrow staircase servicing all rooms. It’s a hike to the top floor but more importantly, there is no other way out in case of an emergency. There are no second stairwells, emergency ladders, or fire escapes attached to this hotel. For this reason, we felt very unsafe during our stay. Beyond that, the hotel resides on a very busy street. When the noise from the after bar crowd quieted down around 1 am, the street sweepers came out until 3 am. Combine that with no air conditioning and no fan, and you have an extremely uncomfortable night. Given the 200+ euro price tag for our room, we do not recommend this hotel. Please add a fire escape for the safety of future guests!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was excellent as well as the use of the coffee bar and restaurant next door.
For aging seniors with bad legs, we found the stairs a bit much - and found the shower floor a little slippery.
- LizzyDashwood (8/5): Great location. Helpful staff - We were visiting Dublin for a concert in Malahide and to do some shopping, so chose this as it was a 15min walk from the train station and close to all the shops. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great for a short stay. Would definitely recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super friendly staffing, great location by an outdoor shopping area and central to the city
- anne (10/5): - This was located in a great part of town. Easy to get to and convenient for walking. The only complaint is that the bed was super firm! Very clean and the restaurant next store was amazing. It was quiet also.
- twinkle696 (8/5): Great location - Stayed here 24th of may for the wkend great location lovely rooms .great shower towels hair dryer safe in room.only down side is there's no lift so if you struggle with stairs ask for first floor .all staff really nice on reception .went next door to King Fisher restaurant for breakfast really great breakfast lots of choices .the chippy next door was really nice got chicken burger 1night and it was proper succulent chicken and proper chips worth every euro ;-)
- 117rachelleg (6/5): Small rooms - A bit disappointed bec the receptionist said she will give me their biggest room that has 3 beds. I assumed and imagined that it was a spacious one but to my surprise it was so tiny. Yes 3 beds can fit but there's only enough space to walk one person at a time so it was really tight for 3 persons. You can also hear the noise fr other rooms.
The location is just the good thing about this place.
- X851EDmikel (8/5): Good location. Nice staff. - You’re greeted by friendly reception. They were always helpful and pleasant. Our room was small, but comfortable. We slept well on the bed that had a nice comforter. Only issue was that our room was on the street side. So there was a bit of noise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I actually liked it a lot I came early so by the time I checked in my luggage was already in my room
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Disappointed with the room - it was very small - 1 small wardrobe & no where to put your cases away, it was difficult to manoeuvre in the room & around the bed, possibly better for single occupant. The bathroom was clean and we had fresh towels daily but also very small with the tiniest shower cubicle I’ve ever seen.... any more than an average size person would really struggle!! Our room was at the front of hotel on very busy street so couldn’t open window for some fresh air & did really struggle to sleep initially, however we were provided with earplugs!! The bed was clean but not particularly comfortable & the carpet felt a little grubby but overall the room was ok - Although I do think overpriced!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised with our stay, Maria was lovely and so helpful. The complimentary breakfast next door at the Kingfisher restaurant was a great added bonus and even the takeaway breakfast on our last morning was amazing!! They even did our washing free of charge. Would absolutely stay again if we return to Dublin.
- Alice (8/5): - Check in was super smooth. Carol was very helpful & friendly. Room was clean, fresh. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location and old world charm..
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely. - Two items to note were there are no lifts/elevators, so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs and there is no shelf space in the shower. However, the inn was very cute; it's located adjacent to one of the best breakfast and lunch restaurants in the area; the location is perfect for tourists. We also received notable service.
- Jonathan (10/5): Perfect stay - Perfect location close to the center. Staff very helpful and complimentary breakfast was all good. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would stay again - Clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price for being in such a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful about the hotel and finding food and things to do in the local area
- K (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, and excellent food at the restaurant! Best fish and chips!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely one night stop! My sister had I had one night in Dublin. Staff were very nice
- Jo-Ann (10/5): Great break away - Great place, friendly welcome and perfect location for sight seeing and local amenities
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location. Room 9 was noisy with a mechanical noise overhead al the time. The room was a bit cramped and up 6 short flights of stairs so no good unless fit. Great Fish and Chip shop next door.
- Mia (10/5): - By far the best hotel I’ve been to! Staff were so nice, room was spotless and the bed was unbelievably comfortable! Definitely coming back☺️
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The picture of the room online is very deceiving. The shower leaked, the room was cramped. Didn't sleep well at all.
- Kevin (10/5): - I've been to Dublin several times at this point. Not my favourite city in Ireland. This little hole in the wall hotel was AMAZING. The front desk help was incredible. I would recommend this place to anyone. The location couldn't be beat. The shower was probably the hottest and best I've ever had in all of Ireland. No lie!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and went the extra mile. We had an early flight to catch upon checkout and they were so kind to pack sandwiches and drinks for us.
- Lee (8/5): - Its in a great location just a block away from city centre. Its a very small hotel and has no elevator. The women working the front desk we're very friendly. The room is small but adequate. The bathroom was nice and had a good shower. Breakfast at the restaurant next door is included which was a plus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice stay, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Organised us a packed lunch for our Saturday morning excursion and let us store our bags until our flight on our last night. Hotel lovely and clean, secure with 24hour consierge, very comfy bed and no noise overnight. The staff were really friendly and super accomodating. Would recommend
- Luke (6/5): - Great location, great staff, clean rooms but far too much noise from the street - tram bells, car horns, loud people.
- Ana (10/5): - We had a wonderful experience here. The hotel staff is so friendly and the rooms were clean. We had breakfast at the connected restaurant every morning we were there because it was so affordable, quick and delicious. Great walking location for bus stops. Easy to find the hotel because Parnell's statue points the way.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel.... - Great location, easy walk to all main places of interest.
Staff helpful and welcoming, even put our luggage in our room when we arrived to early for check in.
The room was clean and beds extremely comfortable. Ear plugs provided to block out the road noise however we found the noise didn’t bother us.
Can’t really find fault with the place, it suited us perfectly and so would definitely recommend.
- Anthony (10/5): KINGFISHER DUBLIN - This is an excellent hotel on a number of counts: excellent and friendly reception; excellent room with good facilities; spotless shower room and bedroom; very quiet. In addition ear-plugs provided should there be any extraneous noise.
- Juliet (8/5): Tiny, no lift - The service was great, room was very small, no table or desk, not good for working on a computer
- Andrea (10/5): Great place to stay in dublin - Great find in Dublin. Loved the breakfast daily that staff offered us at the kingfisher restaurant next door. We also used the 10% coupon for lunch. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We found our room very comfortable and spacious. Would recommend to others.
- Katherine (10/5): - Everything was perfect! We got a great complementary breakfast at the Kingfisher Restaurant, and the staff were all extremely kind and welcoming.
- Johanna (10/5): Amazing, comfy place! - Kingfisher was amazing!!! In a perfect location, not on a noisy street but still within a block or two of the city centre basically. The staff was so accomodating and let us check in early, plus they gave us breakfast vouchers for free meals at their restaurant next door! I totally loved my stay, and would gladly stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Uniqueness guaranteed in Dublin! - The location is fantastic. But everywhere within Dublin city is walkable. Most pick ups for daily local tour is in the city area, which is near to this hotel. The bed in Kingfisher is 100% KING size as compare to some other hotels. It is comfy and large. Ear plugs provided for those who sleeps with the window open but during my 3 days stay, I did not find it noisy at all. The only negative is, being a townhouse, there is no lift. So those with huge luggage may find it a hassle to drag it up and down the stairs. Light travelers may find this OK but those with kids will need to be careful.
Overall it is fantastic experience for me. Give this townhouse a chance if you seek uniqueness!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Kingfisher is a lovely place to stay and the employees are incredibly helpful.
- Kelsey (10/5): Clean Quiet and Cozy - Clean, quiet and cozy. The staff was super friendly and felt very comfortable for the duration of our stay.
- Lois (8/5): Kingfisher - Great staff, firm beds, clean.
Downside was the stairs, very steep.
- Rebecca (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Our room was clean and well-cared for, though small for three adults. The host people were very nice and helpful. We liked the close proximity to things we wanted to see and easy access to public transportation. Felt safe and secure, and prices were reasonable.
- Liza (6/5): Great staff but not a great area - Stayed here for two nights in a twin with my Mum. The staff there were lovely and very helpful. Not a great area of town, if I go back I'd stay on the other side of the river. It didn't help that on the second night it was really noisy due to roadwork so if you're going soon, you may experience it - there's lots going on in Dublin at the moment. Other than the area not being great, it is walking distance to a number of things like shopping, food, attractions etc.
- James (8/5): Would stay there again - Overall, this was a nice place to stay. It's really convenient to restaurants, a grocery store and an ATM. There were only two things I didn't like. Breakfast was not included in the price of the room, even though this was the most expensive lodgings I had during my 26-night stay in the UK and Ireland. All other hotels and guest houses included a great breakfast. The other minor problem was street noise, but that's to be expected when you are so conveniently located in a large city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Dublin location - Only a 1 night stay - friendly staff, comfortable bed and clean.
Our room on top floor and narrow stairway to get luggage up and down.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice one night stay - Lovely small friendly hotel. Staff were excellent. Room was clean & bed was really comfortable.
We are coming back to Dublin in November and have already booked to stay here.
- Galina (10/5): Great location, good price - Nice small hotel, close to all attractions. We arrived before 11 a.m., but our room was already ready and offered to us. We didn't reserve parking, so there were no parking sports at the hotel, but there is a garage nearby for 15 euros for 24 hours.
- CG (8/5): Close to O'CONNEL street. - Wonderful staff! Had no elevator but they carried everything up to our room. Room was nice. Only bad thing is the noise through window. Need more soundproofing windows from our room.
- jax/dave (10/5): Great location - There was nothing to fault lots of pubs shops and restaurants very lively with out the hustle and bustle overall a very pleasant experience would definitely stay in hotel and the same ereason if we go to dublin again.
- vanessa (10/5): Home away from home - This hotel is quite small, which I didn't expect, but I really enjoyed it. A lot of the staff was super nice and went out of their way to help us out. The room was nice, a little small, but it was comfortable. There is no elevator, but one of the staff carried our bags to our room for us. It's in a nice location in North Dublin. There's a shopping center across the street and plenty to see and do.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to O'Connell St. - Hotel room was small, and overpriced, considering Dublin is a run down city. Some nice attractions, but overall homelessness in the streets, litter, and drunken people spilling out into the sidewalk, do not not make this, in our opinion, a desirable city to go to.
- Jo (10/5): Excellent! - I chose this hotel purely for the excellent location. We were greeted by a lovely lady at check in who couldn't do enough to help. The room was up at the top of the hotel, a steep climb but we were rewarded with a wonderfully quiet room. The decor was lovely, bed comfy and bathroom stocked with toiletries. There was a hairdryer and bottled water in the room. I can't praise this hotel enough, it was absolutely perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely gorgeous room in a lovely hotel. Very near airport and across from a shopping center. Breakfast was delicious.
- Andreas (6/5): Central Dublin hotel - Small hotel in excellent central location in Dublin.
Staff are very friendly and helpful
Rooms are on small side,
my major drawback: not very well insulated for noise: street noise, neighbouring rooms doors opening and shutting, water pump at night
Breakfast is at neighbouring restaurant which opens only at 0900, which was too late for us
a bit pricey for what it offers
- Robert (10/5): Happy with hotel staff not restaurant staff - The hotel staff was wonderful. Dublin is under road repair so this noise was not the hotels fault. The construction is throughout Dublin. The restaurant staff need customer service training...
- Diane (10/5): - Great location and a great place to stay! Loved the shower!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and price - The hotel was very conveniently located. The room was nice though very small and a bit cramped.
- Liew (8/5): Excellent Service - Good location with excellent service provided. There is no lift to the rooms but hotel staff voluntarily offered to help bring the luggages to our room. Only small issue was the heater in the room had no settings for the heat levels (only on or off) but this is only a small thing.
- Bethany (10/5): Far out - Nice place. Very clean and great staff. Rooms are decent size with an electric kettle for coffee or tea. Still a lot of construction out front but we didn't hear it. It is a bit far from old town. We used the city bike rental system and that worked well for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Easy walk to most places! Nice employees. I would stay here every time I visit Dublin. If you need groceries, Tesco is right next door!
- Jessie (10/5): Good Location, Clean and Comfortable Stay - Great location! The room was comfortable and clean. However, we were missing towels from our room and the phone was broken. Otherwise, everything else was perfect. Front desk staff were kind and helpful and stored our bags when we arrived early with any issues.
- Lou (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Staff were amazing! We loved our stay in our double standard room. Great location and breakfast in the restaurant was lovely! We will return for sure!
- Eric (8/5): Old but good - Pretty easy to find, but if you are driving you will need to park elsewhere for checking in as there is no parking lot to pull up to the front. They do have parking in a parking garage behind the building about a block down, but you have to check in first in order to access. We weren't given clear instructions on how to get to it, but once we found it we felt dumb as it is almost directly behind the building, but as of right now there is so much construction going on that road and directly in front of the building that certain roads are closed and it made it a little confusing. There is no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor so it wasn't too bad. The place is old but very clean and nice. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Decent size room considering the size of the hotel. Location is one block from Henry st and not that far from everything else. Maybe a 10 minute walk to Temple Bar so just outside the loud noise area. Perfect for getting some rest.
- IR (10/5): Great Stay! - Great stay for one last night in Dublin after coming back from Belfast. A little off the main strip from Temple Bar, but very easy to walk to everything! The rooms are very nice and clean inside.
- Debra (6/5): Not the most comfortable stay - Room was only partially cleaned (there was a glass with someone's toothpaste mouth on it in the bathroom..) but staff were apologetic and corrected it asap. TV didn't work. Room was small but manageable.
- Monica (10/5): Friendly Staff - Service was good and the staff were soo friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
- Valerie (10/5): Great value - This is a great place to stay; good location, clean and comfortable room and lovely, helpful staff. Will definitely be back!
- rory (6/5): - A very nice room, nicely decorated and spotless. Nice people. Very basic common areas. Its not really a guesthouse or b+b as such but more a building full of bedrooms. The area is historic but quite dangerous.
- Pauline (8/5): Very convenient location! - Excellent location for both sides of the river, easy to get to most points of interest, lots of shopping nearby. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, building is a little run down, just a couple of issues with cleaning staff, left details with them on their own review forms
- Paul (10/5): Perfect placement - The hotel sits slightly off the Main Street of Dublin with bars, restaurants and shops all close by. Comfortable, compact and extraordinarily cheap for where it is. Temple bar is only a short walk way away if you're that way inclined.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly, Comfortable and Luxurious Hotel!! - I had a fantastic experience at the Kingfisher Hotel. Upon arriving in the evening I was welcomed by the lady on the reception desk. The lady gave me my key and explained everything including giving me a map of the area. The room was perfect! It was clean, tidy and well laid out. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and cushions for extra comfort. There was a heater in the room which was good for the colder evening. The bathroom was nicely decorated and included a corner shower. Toiletries were also included.
The hotel is on Parnell street which is just off from O'Connell steet one of the starting point for tour buses and the drop off stop for the air coach from Dublin Airport. I would definitely stay at the hotel again! I had such a great first time in Dublin which was made even better by th fantastic experience given by The Kingfisher Hotel.
Thank you!
- Angie (6/5): Small but convenient location - The lobby and stairs are nasty, but the rooms and bathrooms are clean. Nice to have tea bags and a hot water pot to heat water.
- Tracy (10/5): Friendly and Convenient Hotel - Ana Marie was a huge help for us with recommendations to even calling a tour company for us and reserving our tickets for us! We stayed with them two different times. The first time our room was a full size bed and twin bed and the room had ample space! The second time the room had two twin beds and a full and limited space. The bathrooms are updated but the showers are smaller stand up showers so for someone bigger it might be difficult for them. However the water pressure is strong and there was plenty of hot water. We were bummed we couldn't check out their restaurant since it has awesome reviews on all medias. But they did offer us 10% off at the cafe next door which had amazing food as well! Overall, I highly recommend!
Oh, the only downfall is that they don't have an elevator so be ready to carry your bags up narrow stairs! It's a small price to pay for such a great hotel!
- Katherine (8/5): Comfortable, clean & close to shops - Rooms are not massive but the beds were really comfy and the bathrooms appear to be newly refurbished. Only difficult thing we needed help with was getting the luggage up the stairs as there is no lift.
