Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, spacious, convenient, basic accomodation that is very good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lots of space and clean. Only thing missing was having access to a TV in our room. Location was perfect!
- judith (10/5): Excellent to place to stay - Very pleasant and clean room easy access from road and quiet area
- Timothy (2/5): Only if you didn’t pack a tent - Filthy room. Sheets not laundered. Miniature shower and toilets. Hard to get to rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was extremely convenient, with adequate parking. For the price it was great. Noise from the hallway as other guests or students returned through the night was pretty loud (Saturday night). WiFi signal was strong and fast. Overall, it was a good choice for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The economy room was a shared bathroom room. It was not explicit enough in the description and we realized it upon inspection of the room. Thankfully, we were able to pay and upgrade to a suite (private bathroom).
Quality is that of course of a university dorm, so nice, clean and functional if you’re in a bind or not wanting to spend a lot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Spacious rooms (we booked the premium suites)
Full common kitchen
Free laundry machine and dryer - detergent provided
Friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable, clean accommodations that are good value for money paid. Tricky finding the correct building when first arriving on campus; directions not offered prior to arrival and not obvious once on site. But check-in coordinator answered phone on 2nd attempt and provided instructions. On-site parking provided. In-room wifi. Room spotless but of course no A/C so it was open window or no air. Shared common bathroom was clean. Shower stalls tight but manageable. Big drawback: Rooms not soundproofed. You can hear every move in hallway and neighboring units. While room boasted en suite sink and outlets hesitated to use blow dryer out of concern it would disturb neighbors. Check out painless.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Skip the Dishes delivered supper quickly. Laundry was available and there was no charge (but there was a charge for parking) Recommend if you like private hostel rooms
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was centrally situated and easily accessible. The only issues was that there was just 2 bath towels between 4 people, and our room had a weird smell in it. Maybe some freshener would have been good.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Only one small bed in a double room. Shower and toilet outside of the room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money - Just needed a few kitchen pieces to eat with and on...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super affordable and clean rooms, simple check in process and if you're lucky you might see a deer on the property.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No one was there to let us to go in. all the doors were close.
- Stephen (8/5): Great family option; convenient location - Convenient location; nice to have kitchenette available; free wifi
Rooms were new and in very good condition. Great for a family
- Michelle (10/5): Great Value - For what we expected, UNB Summer Hotel is excellent. This was for an overnight stay where we were passing through.
Large enough bed and clean. Fairly quiet, although that wasn't a concern of ours when booking. Better than expected out of a dorm room.
Kind and courteous staff. Facilitated unexpected late check-in and were great with us.
- Ali (6/5): - It is clean, good parking. I don't have more to say but the program is making me type 50 characters
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice dorm room - I stayed in their universities before and this one was the smallest. Breakfast was okay, room & washroom were clean, no AC and only single cup provided. One thing I noticed was the tap water is not clear rather brownish but tasteless after flow through Brita filter.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I recommend this to family and kids as well. Great place with lots of space to run around and quite too
- Lucy (8/5): - Clean rooms, quiet and safe area.
- AJ (6/5): - Beds are really noisy. Staffs are nice. Kitchen and laundry facilities were good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a university dorm that is used as a hotel in the summer. It has a nice location and is very clean.
- Gerry (6/5): UNB Summer Hotel - The hotel is a university dorm. The rooms were not very clean the first room we were sent hadn't be cleaned at all beds unmade dirty towels still in bathroom. They had to try 4 rooms before a clean one was found which still wasn't that clean. Also no air conditioning so room was very hot and stuffy .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great except the matresss was too noisy.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Overpriced dirty accommodation with not a spoon or plate or piece of cookware anywhere in either the en-suite kitchenette or the communal kitchen. Paint chipped walls, dirty sink and toilet, disgusting messes in cupboards of communal kitchen, long ago stained chairs in kitchenette. Run far, run fast. This should have been $45/night not $104.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had trouble getting into both my room and the building with my access passes even after getting the original card replaced. Gratefully, someone let me in.
The lights in the hallway and washroom are way too bright for middle of the night bathroom runs.
The washroom was far from my room and the communial kitchen was so ridiculously far I didn't bother to use it. I had to use the main entrance, passing two exit doors that I couldn't use getting to and from my room.
Staff were kind, friendly and accommodating but it can't make up for the shortcomings of the facility, in my opinion.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to hang your hat for the night. Quiet and the price is right.
- Uma (6/5): - Good overall. Staff did a good job. Room was small but cozy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We arrived late and had to call someone to let us in. We left early and no one was there on check out. The room was clean and spacious for our family of 5. There was a foul smell that we did not appreciate. Overall the stay was ok. No frills. 125$ including tax seemed over priced for a student residence.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheeap for one night stay - Room assignment mixup given a room with someone already in it. Otherwise a decent rest
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, private, comfortable - Super clean new dorm with a comfy double bed, quiet , shared bathroom but no one else in there:)
- jennifer f (10/5): - The place is student dorm, simple and clean. Good for the price. Have all you need for stay.
- Libby (6/5): The quality of A cheap Motel but less convenient. - Staff was super friendly. Dorm was not properly cleaned. Found garbage on floor. No tub, just shower stall. Security building so felt safe and very quiet since most of students are gone. Location wasn’t very convenient but for the price I guess it was ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I had requested a place that pets are allowed as I got there there was no mention of pets not allowed only after that when I brought everything in that they came to my door and said no pets allowed when it should have been said at the start and it should never have been on your website that they are pet
- Paul (8/5): Collage Dorms for wayward travelers. - Staff (UNB) are super friendly. Restrooms and showers are communal. Looks like it's set-up for female dorms, so everything is clean and not torn up. Great security. Nice view of St John River (more like a lake) from right in front of the dorms. It's up atop a hill and away from the lowlands, so no homeless wandering about. In the morning it's a short walk to the Hospital, which has a 24 hr Tim Horton's!
- Mark (6/5): - no batteries in tv converter control, regular channels locked out with parental control ( ie. history channel),light burnt out in bedroom , gravel on bed sheet as if someone had been lying down on it and only enough towels for 2 of the 3 guests.
- Claude (8/5): - WI fi not strong but ok
- Dorothy (2/5): - For us the double bed was uncomfortable. The quests in the room over us tramped around and it sounded like they were moving furniture thumping the floor. Waking us up. We did not sleep well.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wish we were staying longer - Great facilities, kitchenette area means less expense, clean, quiet. We would stay here again.
- Eugene (8/5): Good one in NB - The price is good in this season and this area i'd like to recommend it to my friend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice facility, comfortable bed, polite staff. Facility is close to the hospital, but a bit far from downtown. However, the bus transfer is right in front of the building. Washrooms are shared, but very clean and modern. There is also a nice TV room you can access.
- Linda (6/5): Close to the hospital - Expected tv in the room. The TV in the common room didnt even work
- SANNA (6/5): Student Resident - Just stay one night to transit is okay, I have my owe washroom but don't have kitchen. I don't know where is public kitchen. It should be far from my room. So I forget it.
It is a basic resident, don't expect. How much you paid and how much you got.
You need pay parking $4.00 per day. And the location is up hill, it is little far from downtown. If you don't mind it still a good location. The view is good but I don't have time to walk around.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Was on site of karate competition - Room was clean. But the second day ....😐😑
The front not available anytime.
Have to find people.
- Jacob (6/5): - beds were very uncomfortable and only got 2 towels for 4 adults, everything else about stay was wonderful
- Michel (6/5): Not a good stay for us - Booked in a hurry and didn't realize there was no conditioning air and no free parking. Could have been ok but since the refrigerator was to noisy I had to close the room door keeping me out of refreshing breeze. The reception is hard to find when coming in late.
- Dawn (8/5): Dorm life - It was comfortable and relaxing evening thought they were doing renovations I hardly heard a thing. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker in room, however they are dorm rooms so room is limited. Would have liked to see a cafe on property to get a drink and a snack/meal. I would stay again, however I now know what is there and what isn't and can prepare better next time. I found it clean and a lovely lounge area to watch t.v. and relax. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was a room at UNB St John NB
-
Quiet.
Student room so not an hotel standard
No air conditioning
Small shower
Tv was not working
- Tej (8/5): Best Value for Money in Saint John - UNB Summer Hotel was an excellent place to stay for the price. The apartments were clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice. i would say UNB Summer Hotel is the best value for money in Saint John.
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent value option - I had to overnight in Saint John on my drive back from Nova Scotia. This was an excellent value option: a clean, private room with a sink in the room. Showers and toilets (all very clean) down the hall. Free wifi. Parking was extra, but only CAD$5 (maybe they could include that fee in the room rate, since this property is not downtown and people booking on hotels.com will almost certainly be driving in). Anyway, I had a very good experience
