• Sarah (5/5): Cheap and sufficient place for an overnight stop - This place is cheap and good enough for a single night. We had to be in Villahermosa to drop one of our party at the airport the next morning, so we broke up our drive from San Cristobal to Calakmul here. I wasn't expecting much and didn't get much, but I got what I expected. We had two theoretically equivalent rooms and one was a bit more recently upgraded than the other. My kids' room had an "old fashioned" TV that they were keen to show us like it was a museum exhibit. They were shocked to hear that we'd had much less modern TVs ourselves. In our room it was an elderly flat screen, and even had a couple of English-language channels, which was a pleasant surprise. The windows had blackout curtains behind the regular curtains, which were easy to miss. At first, it seemed like the air conditioning was going to be one of those sad and tired ones that feels like someone blowing cool air through a drinking straw, but it was actually fine and simply needed a bit of time to cool the place off. You're able to leave it on when you're not in the room. You do need to ensure that it's set to the right setting (snowflake emblem), not "fan." There was a pool, and it was pleasant. There's a parking lot on the street behind the hotel. It was a bit of a hassle to get into since it was gated and locked, but an employee got in our car with us and opened it for us. There's theoretically a restaurant, but judging from the complete lack of clientele and the strange smell near it, I certainly wouldn't eat there. No one even suggested it to us. We found a super place for breakfast right around the corner: Casa Allende. I recommend it highly. (For dinner, we walked to Restaurante Madan, which was dreadful.) If you need somewhere to stop for one night, this is actually just fine, despite being extremely tired and in need of renovation. Everything could have been better, but the price was right and the location was easy for getting in and out from the main road.

Blijkbaar is er enkel koffie voorzien en geen thee. Eerst zeiden ze dat er geen thee was, en toen ik er vriendelijk op wees dat thee voorzien bij het ontbijt vrij basis is en dat niet iedereen koffie lust, kwamen ze toch plots met thee af. Maar dan moest ik ervoor bijbetalen! Dan heb ik mij toch wat van oren gemaakt en kreeg ik toch thee. Maar dat hiervoor een discussie nodig is, zet toch een domper op de hotelervaring. Locatie is wel top.

Room did not look like the photos, but maybe it used to. Breakfast was just okay. They added way too many onions to the eggs and didn't drain the black beans before cooking so the eggs were grey. My son refused to eat them.

Falta variedad de alimentos en el restaurante. El personal es muy amable fue lo mejor.
