Gregory (10/5): - This is an incredible place to call home for a few days (or or months). The staff is extremely helpful and a pleasure to be around. The rooms are well thought out and extremely comfortable. The sunrises, sunsets and aquatic activities are all a sight to behold. Hats off to the owner and his management team for doing such a great job. We will be back for sure.

Zhixuan (8/5): - The location is amazing with beach access, dive shop, kiteboarding school downstairs and it is some view to wake up to. The condition is not as good as a chain hotel but that’s expected in a fishing village. The staff is simply heart warming. They will do their best to make you feel at home. The room was big and clean with daily housekeeping. The room has a drinking water dispenser which was amazing for a village near dessert. Down sides: No hairdryer was a slight issue. Only a thin blanket was provided and March nights it was really chilly for us. However, you can ask for more blankets. The water came out of the tap is very slightly salty and is likely purified from sea water. It’s not a big deal.

I walk out of my front door to a beautiful view of the sea and hundreds of kite surfers and foilers enjoying life. The hotel owner and staff are all very friendly, making everything easy. The convenience of the bar and food on site is a big plus as well. I would definitely stay here again.

peter (10/5): - Literally on the beach. Less crowded than neighboring resorts with a very nice beach bar with maybe 8 barstools. FANTASTIC fish tacos. The lady's know how to cook. Clean and fresh safe to east treats. Cold beer. Amazing water and beach. Lots of water sports going on. Peaceful nights sleeping on a comfy bed. Good shower with a jacuzzi and hot water. A nice touch was the five gallon drinking water fountain in the room. Great staff. Cool owner. Chill experience.
Madeline (10/5): - This is primarily a hotel for wind sports, which we don’t do. But it’s right smack on the beach ( swim in the morning before the wind gets up), and has a super good breakfast at its pleasant outdoor bar. Our only problem was the room was quite cold at night— it’s been an unusually cold season so far, but there isn’t any way to get heat in the rooms.

Maria (9/5): Beautiful location - I was traveling with my two little ones and my husband and we absolutely had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located right Infront of the beautiful beach in La Ventana , we stayed up and watch the stars at night where we saw many shootings stars. Everything is so close around La Ventana so you cant go wrong with the location of the hotel, they were very accommodating as soon as we arrived and answered any questions we had reference any tours or what we could do around La Ventana. The rooms were very clean , and they had a cleaning crew clean up the room each day of your stay which i thought that was great! The room was big enough for my husband and my two little ones... the only thing i wish is that the rooms had more pillows but we also didn't ask for more pillows. At night it gets a little chilly so i also wish we had extra blankets but again maybe if we would have asked I'm sure that they would have accommodated that request.

The staff at the snack bar/bar played music through out the day, that was suited to the time of day. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful! The room location and view of Ventana Bay a beautiful sight! Our room was furnished with very basic furniture (a basic queen bed, as well as a single bed, a dresser, small fridge). No microwave or TV. We didn’t miss the tv but some folks might. Upgrading the room furniture could make a big difference. Our fridge wasn’t working. We did notify the staff who rectified the problem very quickly! The staff were amazing!

Nice bar and lounging area in the sand with many tables and chairs. Everything is very clean and the manager is very helpful. Beautiful sunrise views, if you get up early! Ps, very good bathrooms. Clean, no plumbing problems, and lots of space. If relying on using a kitchenette, just make certain the room has the utensils, pots, etc you need. We extended our booking at the last minute, thus needed to be moved to another room (which was to be expected) and the second room wasn't as well equipped as the first.
Johanna (6/5): Pleasant - I have stayed at la Ventana beach resort every year for the past 3 years. we love the location and community here. it’s close to all the hot spots in town including baja joes. can’t argue with an ocean view! this time there was construction we were notified about. it woke us up every morning which wasn’t nice since we were trying to enjoy days off and sleep in. it also went on throughout the day. we ended up complaining and getting a discount.
Casillas (8/5): Only for people into water sports, otherwise, boring. - Oceanfront Location is awesome They don’t clean your room, I stayed 5 nights and they didn’t clean. At check out nobody helped us, we had to leave the room key on a table.

Simple, inexpensive touches for now would make it so much better. - The location is perfect, there is construction going on adding a 3rd story to the building so it looks different than the photos. The bar and beach area was nice and inviting, nice bartender and good margaritas. Lovely views and dog friendly. Room 3 with a king bed (which is shown in the photos when reserving here on booking.com) is halfway remodeled and decent. The rock headboard with back lighting is cool and the layout of the room is great. Bottled water and small fridge were a plus. Rooms 1,2,4 and 5 were very dated and tired. Room 3 with the King bed, full glass slider door and new window is a better option and feels updated. The bed has a plastic liner on it which makes for an uncomfortable, sweaty noisy sleep. Hotel rooms have one main purpose, to provide a place to sleep. Bathroom has a large tub but is not remodeled, ceiling has mold or water damage. We paid the "upgrade" fee to the bartender for room #3, the manager asked for us to pay the upgrade fee the next morning, we told her we had already paid it. It didnt appear anyone else was staying on the lower floor. For $170 USD I feel I could have found a better option. It's a shame when you see a place that has potential but just lacks simple updates to make it feel inviting, such as better bedding, paint, decor touches.
