Guest Reviews
- Gabor (9/5): - Amazing beach đď¸ , food and staff
- Robert (10/5): perfect - staff and location very clean
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Location, food, staff and atmosphere There could be more closet space in the rooms.
- Annie0756 (10/5): Honeymoon - My husband and I have just returned from our honeymoon, which incorporated a week stay at Sugar Bay. We arrived at the hotel early afternoon, greeted by warm, friendly staff and a lovely rum punch. Although our room wasnât ready until 4pm, we were given wristbands that allowed us to use the facilities/all inclusive package from the get go.
Prior to our visit, we informed the hotel that it was our honeymoon, and were greeted with a bottle of wine in our room, as well as the champagne and chocolates that my husband had arranged for us, both of which were lovely touches.
We had also prearranged with the hotel for a round of golf at Barbados Golf Club. The process was seamless - the hotel handled everything including transfers and undertaking the booking on our behalf.
We had a room overlooking the gardens near the bandstand, which was lovely. The room and bathroom were spacious, with a good sized balcony. The facilities in the bedroom were good, I.e. fridge, air conditioning, a safe, hairdryer, mosquito repeller, and plenty of towels in the bathroom etc. The only slight nit picks are that there were only 2 plug sockets, so more would have been better. Also, the wardrobe was very small and didnât have much room for dresses or trousers. When walking past other rooms near reception/toilets that were open due to the rooms getting cleaned, they had a lot more wardrobe space - not sure if this is to do with room type/upgrades, but to us, wardrobe space should be the same regardless of upgrade status.
The resort was maintained and cleaned to a high standard, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff - all staff were friendly and welcoming.
The beach and pool were amazing! The comfy sunbeds around the pool get reserved early (circa 6-7am), but this was fine for us as early risers.
The evening entertainment was generally low key, with singers on each night, which was welcomed after our hectic week cruising the week prior. The Caribbean show night was also fantastic. On one of the days, the hotel hosted steel pan drum lessons, which we took part in and it was brilliant!
The food at the Reef buffet and Colinâs Rum Shack was delicious - always hot and a great variety to choose from. We also enjoyed refreshing drinks from the various bars available at the hotel.
Included within the stay is a visit to the UMI Asian restaurant and a visit to Sizzle steakhouse both of which are on-site. We ate at UMI first and it was delicious! We ate at Sizzle on our second to last night. Although the starters were fantastic, the main course was a different story. My filet steak was very tough to cut, which was disappointing. Towards the end of the course, my husband found a thick, long wire in his side dish of mac ânâ cheese - luckily he saw it on his fork, as it could have resulted in a trip to the dentist or hospital if he had put it in his mouth! We made the restaurant staff aware immediately, and we left the restaurant before dessert as we had been put off. We notified reception of the incident, who had already been made aware of the situation by the restaurant manager. We asked if we could have another reservation in the UMI restaurant on our last night given that we really enjoyed it there, and within 10/15 minutes of the incident first occurring, our reservation had been made, so we really appreciate how the situation was dealt with. Given the incident in Sizzle steakhouse was rectified immediately, it didnât overshadow our stay.
We overall had a fantastic time at the hotel and will definitely return in the future!
- michelletR5922YZ (10/5): An unforgettable stay for a perfect wedding in paradise! - We stayed at Sugar Bay Resort in Barbados for a friendâs wedding, and honestly, it was one of the most amazing trips weâve ever had.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome! Every single person we met was kind, friendly, and genuinely warm. A special mention has to go to Z, who took us on a UNESCO World Heritage site tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable, full of fascinating insights about the islandâs history, and such great fun to be around, it ended up being one of the highlights of our stay.
The food was absolutely fabulous throughout, so much choice and everything beautifully prepared. The bar staff were just perfect too: attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile (and a great cocktail!).
Beyond the resort itself, what really made the trip unforgettable was the spirit of Barbados. The Bajan people are some of the loveliest weâve ever met and so welcoming and proud of their island. Learning about the rich history and culture made us appreciate the island even more.
The wedding itself was stunning, made even more special by the incredible setting and the wonderful team at Sugar Bay who made everything run so smoothly.
We left with the best memories and a real love for Barbados. We truly hope to return one day.
Thank you for such a special experience.
- jeanlW4378AP (8/5): A good choice for a beach holiday - A very well maintained hotel with friendly competent staff who made you feel wanted and not a nuisance. The food in general was very good with a wide selection.
The hotel was well maintained and kept very clean. The staff were well trained, friendly and competent and made you feel welcome. The beach area was well kept although the sea was a little rougher than we expected.
- annette251 (10/5): Paradise found and great memories made! - Repeat guest to this hotel! If you want to have a relaxing time in a lovely environment with the best staff looking after you, this is the place to go. I look forward to returning every time!
The hotel is well managed and staff so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I have been lucky enough to return here year after year and it gets better every time!
This time we had an ocean family suite room again which has excellent views over the beach, and is a spacious well laid out room with separate bedroom. Mini bar was stocked with soft drinks daily at our request. Staff - from those who greeted us on arrival through to the manager could not do enough for us. It would be unfair to name anyone in particular but so nice to see staff again we have got to know over the years!
There are a number of restaurants providing different options. I can recommend UMI and would say itâs in my top 3 of my favourite restaurants ever. The executive chef at the hotel is approachable and nothing is too much trouble if you want something not available. He is a great character!
This hotel has evening entertainment but what is nice is this finishes at 2200 each evening. Those who want to carry on can move to the lazy mongoose bar on site for a few more hours but it means those who wish to have a quiet time from then are able to do so. I get it thatâs not for everyone but it is something I think the hotel
has got this spot on! Canât wait to return again in a few months! Thanks Morgan, you should be so proud of what you and your team have produced and we can all enjoy!
- 857kent (10/5): Fabulous Hotel - This was our 2nd visit to Sugar Bay, the 1st time being in 2019. We were really happy to have a room with a Pool View, it was very spacious with a good sized Bathroom. We noticed that the Bar had been moved nearer the beach to create a larger entertainment area during the evenings.
During our stay we were able to attend the horse race meeting, with the hotel providing transport and use of the Sponsorâs Box including drinks and food. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon.
We enjoyed eating at all 3 restaurants ( Buffet and 2 speciality). The food was very varied, lots of choice and all of a high standard.
The choice of drinks was excellent, beer, wines, cocktails, and of course Mount Gay Rum!
The staff were amazing, worked really hard, especially in the restaurants and bars which were very busy at times. The level of customer service was amazing, everyone was helpful and always smiled and engaged with us
We could mention so many staff, but in particular want to give a big shout out for Yeshandae, Kay and of course the Egg Lady at Breakfast!
We look forward to our next visit.
- peppersnaps (8/5): Lovely beachside resort - Friendly staff, pretty location, relaxed vibe. Great bars and the beach restaurant Colinâs was terrific as was Blush cafe. What detracts from a 5 star experience:
- the live music when dining at the Japanese restaurant was very loud and intrusive
- early morning rush to reserve beach chairs. The beach is big enough and there are enough chairs, however this practice is tolerated which is a shame
- ill mannered buffet pirates filling large ziplocks with food. Really? Embarrassing.
- eylaniamonroed (8/5): Wonderful visit to Sugarbay Barbados - Visited sugarbay in a day pass to visit family to celebrate a 65 birthday. Let me start by saying it embraces the island culture. It's a nice intimate sized hotel with friendly staff at every turn.
My family and I arrived on a day pass and was immediately checked into the resort so we could began our day with the rest of my family we were meeting there. This was one of the most exciting times we have had as a family. We ate lunch on the beach (very good), had drinks at the main beach bar and then enjoyed every aspect of the sugar bay beach.
The beach is beautiful here, sand, water, plenty of beds, it was wonderful.
We had dinner reservations at a restaurant on the island which my bro and I were surprised to be included on the birthday dinner as well. The staff was amazing, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was on point.
We later returned to sugar bay to chill with our family in their very large room for a while. It was the perfect getaway. Lastly our driver took us to the most on point place on the island, there were late night bars, dancing food trucks, everywhere you turned there was excellence
Our trip to Barbados turned into one of my most favorite places and I truly enjoyed my time on the island.
I'm crazy about Mexico's beaches, it's my second home, I also love the Dominican Republic, but I can honestly say Barbados has definitely hit my top three places to visit. I will be going back..
- Brendan Kirrane (10/5): Fabulous stay, cannot fault it. - Everything. Wonderful food, lovely room and great staff.
- K416QKjuliew (10/5): Wonderful week at Sugar Bay! - We spent a week at this lovely hotel and would definitely stay again! Staff were exceptional- nothing too much trouble, always smiling. Food was lovely, all inclusive buffet had a great choice. The beach was super, we had rough seas and it was quite windy while we were there, but as the beach is sheltered we were still able to swim every day unlike a lot of the hotels/beaches. We had a standard room which was very nice and clean. Evening entertainment was great, quality singers. Couldnât fault the hotel, loved it đĽ°
- Faramade (9/5): Beautiful - The staff were all helpful and friendly.
The good was excellent.
The facilities were great.
- TraceyT8 (8/5): Honeymoon Trip - We stayed at Sugar Bay for 8 days as part of our honeymoon in November. We had a signature room overlooking the gardens (in reality it was overlooking the driveway). The room itself was spacious and nicely decorated with a large balcony. The air conditioning was poor and it had to be left on all day so it was cool enough to sleep in the evening. More up to date air conditioning units would save them a fortune in energy!
The location of the hotel is great, on a stunning beach just outside Bridgetown. The beach was very clean with plenty of sun loungers if you were down there before 8am. After that and it was a struggle. There wasnât enough umbrellas to go around whilst we were there and the guys from the beach hut seem to have their favourite customers. The pool, probably lovely but not a chance to get a bed after 7am so we never spent any time at the pool.
Food and drink - this is where Sugar Bay stands out head and shoulders above its competitors. The all inclusive food and drink offering is exceptional. The buffet restaurant had something for everyone and plenty of fish and seafood options which I loved. We also ate at Sizzle and Umi and again the food was lovely. Colinâs bar is great for lunch if you fancy a change from the buffet restaurant. All outlets offered fresh, outstanding food. We loved the cocktail options available and the mud slides were something else!
The staff - our experience was somewhat mixed. Most people were genuinely lovely and took the time out of their day to greet you warmly and have a chat. We found all the restaurant staff to be particularly friendly. Some of the bar tenders could be quite grumpy and brusque and others absolutely lovely. There seemed to be some favouritism to returning guests as with the guys from the beach hut. I feel all customers should be treated equally and perhaps they would turn into returning customers.
Overall we loved our time at Sugar Bay, but would not return as we would like to go self catering next time in Barbados to get out and about a bit more.
- 535billh (8/5): Great beach - Great hotel
Good food
Great beach
Excellent entertainment
- P5950XSpeterf (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Excellent hotel clean ,rooms spot on , good value flor price
- mark_greenwood1 (10/5): The staff make this place a Great hotel - Just a great hotel in Barbados. Amazing staff, sorry should be AMAZING STAFF
Very safe for swimming with a reef calming the sea. Lovely beach
Good food and entertainment
- Robert (9/5): -
- rachieUk (8/5): Nice hotel and location - We enjoyed our 5 night stay here.
Upon check in, we received an upgrade from a garden to an ocean view room. Room was ok but had a spilt bathroom. The view from the balcony was great though.
Food was good. We had one speciality restaurant included and purchased another. Both restaurants were excellent.
one huge downside was the usual sun bed wars. If you weren't up by 6am, there was no room left at the pool. The resort should really monitor this.
- 735michelle (10/5): Brilliant holiday - 2nd visit to Sugar Bay and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food is excellent, wide variety and Andrea (Omelette lady) makes just the best omelettes. Very relaxed environment, nothing is a bother to the staff team. Bar staff fantastic as well as all other teams. Lovely friendly resort, lets hope we can return again soon.
- ruthsB9613LX (8/5): Be aware of scammers - Be aware of Roger
Pretends to be a chiropractor
He will try to rip you off
- MikeC770 (10/5): Extremely friendly hotel - This was our second visit to Sugar Bay. Our overall experience was very good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and I wouldn't want to pick any individual out as they were all excellent. The food in the Reef buffet restaurant is excellent. I am disabled and have difficulty managing steps so was unable to visit the Umi, Sizzle Steak House or Mongoose pub as all are up steep staircases. However we didn't feel we missed anything as the food in the buffet was good quality and plentiful. The manager did offer to have meals from the Umi brought down to us but we were happy without.
The hotel and beach were kept very clean and the garden areas were well kept. On the beach the watersports team bring a parasol to you around 9am. If you need to get beach chairs close to the beach access as I did because I struggle walking on sand then you need to claim a chair by 8am.
The downside of the hotel is that there needs to be more thought given to disabled access. The maintenance staff had to modify the bathroom door so that I could get in with my wheelchair. Also there needs to be a few more ramps for wheelchairs installed to overcome some of the low level steps around the restaurant and bar areas. It would be good to allocate a couple of the wooden platforms on the beach for disabled use and construct ramps from the path to Colins bar onto these as wheelchairs can't travel on the sand.
- J1370URmikes (10/5): Another Visit to Sugar Bay - My wife and I made our third visit to Sugar Bay; the last time was just as Covid was setting in, and the hotel closed for a while. It was nice to be coming back again and to find that quite a few changes had been made to the hotel.
Our room, which was not in the main building (Room 351), was excellent. Very bright and colourful and spotlessly clean (A massive thank you to Kim, the room cleaner, who kept everything pristine and fresh). Always a pleasure to return to each day.
The dining area had been renovated and was a much brighter place from our last visit, and the bar had now been situated outside the dining area and was on the beach. Bar staff are always happy and cheerful, and certainly know how to mix a good drink (best Dark and Stormy I have had for a very long time)!!
The Dining Room staff are really the "Engine Room" of the hotel. Their courtesy and big smiles every day, their attention to detail and their fast service made going for meals a pleasure. They are a big part of the hotel, and we thank them for their kindness. It's not always easy to remember names and areas where staff work, so forgive me if I have got any wrong. A massive shout to Angela- coping with the long line of guests coming for her fantastic omelettes and poached eggs, always served with a big laugh and smile. In the Dining Room, the excellent crew of Lashonda, Yashande (with the big smile), Kim, Cherese, Sharia, Shamara and Kelly Ann. Not forgetting "Captain Pablo" who always called me "Mr Michael".
Regarding the food. On the whole, there was something for everyone each day, sometimes a little repetitive, but on the whole, it was well presented. The visit to Sizzle Steak House was excellent. A very professional team serving amazing steaks -a visit there is a must.
The Reception staff were always on hand and provided excellent service; they were so helpful, together with the porters who helped with suitcases. Finally, we must mention Morris, who took care of the pool area. Another unsung hero, who was so diligent in making sure the pool was safe and that everyone around the pool was looked after. Always on the go throughout the day and always with a big smile. A big thank you.
It was a great holiday and a pleasure to return to Sugar Bay
- david (7/5): Didnât think this was value for money, not a true 4 stars? - We wanted to be closer to the airport and town and chose this neighborhood on purpose, as it was central but still with beach access. All inclusive is good to have but food was disappointing. The beach was nice. Food was pretty disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Overall to me the hotel as a whole felt borderline 3 star rather than 4 star. It was very expensive for that reason but maybe because we booked last minute- thought itâd be the opposite though. Staff wasnât the kindest and can be short.
Sehr angenehme Strandanlage.
- Susymcl (10/5): Lovely relaxing holiday celebrating a special birthday with our family. - This is our fourth visit to Sugar Bay, this time we took our family to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. As usual we had a great time very relaxing holiday. Hotel and staff are great only complaint like most hotels you are unable to get a bed by the pool due to people putting towels on them from 6 am and leaving them empty for hours.
- simonc211 (10/5): Simply outstanding - This is our third visit... and it just gets better! We chose to simply sit on the beach every day, as we needed a rest, but there is so much to do.
The staff are outstanding - from Pedro steering the team, through to the likes of Kay, Damien and Kyle (and plenty more besides). The food is world class - both the buffet and the specialist restaurants. Sadly I managed to put a stone in weight on, just because there was so much to try and taste! The alcohol is free-flowing and always served with a smile. Rooms are exceptional - and we would recommend going the extra mile and getting an Ocean Front Room. The beach is fantastic for lazing, and the sea very safe to swim, with lots to see. We didn't use the pool, but it looked great. A truly memorable experience and we cannot wait to come back again
- HKspice (2/5): Overpriced and disappointing - Vastly overpriced for mediocre service,
average food, plastic cups, no mini bar , no pool service, minimal housekeeping, felt 2/3 star at best
- graham999Manchester (10/5): Sugar Bay treat - Best choice we made was coming here. Arrived around 3 pm although room not available till 4. Comfy chairs and a rum punch soon eased that irritation! I had asked for quiet room which was duly delivered as room on floor 3 overlooking ocean. Gorgeous sea view as described. Only sound of a night were the tree frogs ( yes sic)whistling and one evening a couple of green monkeys having a row in the car park! Where else could you get that experience?
Room beautiful and a huge bed. Shower in bathroom excellent with various attachments. Well kept every day by housekeeping.
Reef restaurant served a very good buffet style meal 3 times a day. A shoutout to the Egg Station team who were awesome. Excellent omelettes and poached eggs. Plenty of choice every meal despite other reviews. Chicken served so many different ways, my favourite was Rum & Honey coated.yum. Salads were equally good. Lunch could also be had at Colinâs Shack. Recommend the burgers for sure. We tried Umi and Sizzle speciality restaurants and again could not be faulte. Our fav was Umi.
Cocktails at bar very good and varied. Only niggle was only one bar at night so very busy. Maybe consider having Colinâs open later?
Reception staff always eager to help.
We having a great time ( go home tomorrow ) and cannot praise Sugar Bay enough. Well done to the great team.
- Cruiser08504400425 (8/5): Beautiful but standards sadly slipping ⌠- Lovely trip here again but things are slipping. The warm welcome, the fantastic food and views are stunning. But the upkeep of the hotel, the bathroom in the rooms need a simple good bleaching and new silicone everywhere ( not expensive) but worst of all are the sunbeds around the pool the cushions look like someone has died on them - they are absolutely filthy. They try and hide it with a towel but they are gross.
Such a shame no one is looking around to see what the guests actually SEE. THE STAFF ARE WONDERFUL but I cannot understand why someone doesnât have higher standards when it comes to the look of things to guests âŚ.its poor.
- 883shannont (6/5): Just okay. I donât get the hype - Booked sugar bay for 7 days February 2026 with my family of 4 including 2 teenage girls. We got two rooms, oceanfront deluxe and regular oceanfront. Rooms had a nice view, were clean, issues with hot water and water pressure on the first night but didnât experience it after that. Everyone raved about the buffet online and it was fine. Nothing to write home about. The two specialty restaurants were good and I think if this place had one more specialty restaurant it would be better. You get sick of eating at the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner day after day. We did go out one night for Italian and Champers on Saturday night to break it up. Beach was nice, the rocks breaking the ocean to keep it somewhat calm was helpful. Pool was fine but just too shallow. This resort is not lively at all. The chair game here is for real. No chairs at the pool early and we got front row on the beach because we are early risers and enjoy sitting and having coffee. It is very quiet with not much going on. I would also say I didnât get the overly friendly staff that everyone online talks about. I would say about half were very friendly and accommodating. I had some who wouldnât even hold a conversation with you. My family and I also felt that there was a clear difference in how they interacted with UK visitors vs us who are American. Overall the resort is safe, clean and has a good beach. If I were to go back to Barbados I wouldnât stay here again. I think a lot of the people who keep coming here maybe havenât experienced nicer AI hotels or even nicer hotels in the Caribbean. If you want a solid 3.5 star this is it. Nothing special or fancy.
- gordonrS6403OT (10/5): WiFi password is Lost in Paradise and this resort really lives up to it! - Second time at Sugar Bay. We were genuinely welcomed back by management and the team who mainly remembered us from last year. Again the staff were all attentive, friendly and accommodating. Scenery, cocktails, rooms and food were all to a very high standard. Weâll definitely be back next year. Well done Morgan, Pedro, Paul and your teams.
- dave1NL (8/5): Better than expected - We enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Bay. The best advert for this hotel is the number of guests that return. Room locks are operated by an arm bracelet. Bracelets are coloured: blue for the first visit. A pink bracelet for guests returning for second to fifth visit. Gold, and there were quite a few, for guests staying for at least the sixth visit. A popular destination!
We enjoyed the friendly going nature of both staff and guests at this hotel.
Very friendly and attentive staff.
Spacious room, but as reported in other reviews, limited wardrobe space.
Primarily 3 restaurants in the evening. Steak, buffet and Asian. Guests are entitled to one reservation per week at the steak and asian restaurants. however additional nights at the restaurants can be purchased. For a long stay ( we stayed for 11 nights), the restaurants are limited.
Buffet restaurant varied between average and very good, depending on taste and offerings.
Asian was good to very good.
Many guests raved about the steak restaurant. Sadly we had a bad experience, purely due to the quality of our steaks. Tough was an understatement! The location of the restaurant and ambiance is not that good.
Several of the guests we met, dined at local restaurants, with good reviews.
Beach and pool. compared to some other Caribbean beaches, the beach here was disappointing. The sand was quite gritty. The hotel could perhaps do more to rake and tidy the beach. Long walks along the beach were limited. Farther down the coast line is an extensive boardwalk.
The pool is not that big. Sadly there was the usual "towel dance" to reserve sunbeds, with the usual stories of guests putting towels on beds at day break. I had to do the same unfortunately. However to our surprise, one morning when we returned at 0830 our towels and books had been taken by the staff. I was advised at reception, that the hotel policy, was to remove items from sunbeds if guests do not return within 30 minutes! What a pity that; this tactic was not advertised or implemented on a daily basis.
There is a mixed bag of the usual holiday entertainment in the evening, some good some bad. I recommend that you take ear-plugs! I think the DJ is trying to broadcast to the whole island. FAR TOO LOUD!!!
In conclusion: we had a really nice holiday at the Sugar Bay. Thanks to all the staff that made us feel really welcome.
- 949leaj (10/5): Wonderful week away. - Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Room and balcony was spacious and spotless. Staff were extremely friendly and polite. Food and drink selection were excellent and great quality. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend.
- 673smc (6/5): Underwhelming food, beautiful location - We booked here because the reviews made it sound like the best resort in the area, and we wanted an all inclusive, and an amazing meal at the steak restaurant on site. First disappointment was the steak restaurant was closed on the one night we were there. OK, lets try the Asian one. It was completely booked... so the buffet was our only option :( The drinks at the beach bar were excellent, and other guests said the food was amazing so we were excited to try it. What a disappointment! Very few choices, tough and dry chicken and steak, one seafood choice and just plain steamed veggies. Just not what we were hoping for. The room was clean and relatively comfortable, but about the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed at. Breakfast was back to the buffet which again was underwhelming. We did notice that almost all the beach and pool loungers were occupied by 9:30 am, so plan on reserving one early. For the amount we paid, we definitely didn't get the value.
- Cruiser571657 (4/5): Very very disappointing - Previous customer
Hotel has definitely changed - very very disappointing
Beach unclean - no longer raked
Hotel not as clean
Paid for birthday balloons and cake but had to constantly chase
Meal times - waiting staff very poor and inexperienced. Not enough waiting staff
Absolutely no leadership at meal times
Tables not cleared quickly enough by not enough staff - encouraging pigeons on tables to peck at food left
Caught the beginning of half term
Children were unruly and allowed unsupervised into the buffet area and started fingering food
Numerous things could very easily be introduced to make life easier
Water in jugs on tables
Bar staff bringing drinks to tables
Open Colinâs bar in the evening as an adult area only
Saw no management whilst we were visiting
No Morgan
No pedro
It was like a rudderless ship
- Curious05406904672 (8/5): In general it was a good experience I - Resort was very good, pleasant atmosphere, clean room, service was great. The food was very good in all restaurants, but the limited time to eat in the two specialty restaurants was very disappointing, once per a week stay in each restorant was not satisfactory by any standard.
- Getaway48674245561 (6/5): 8.5 out of 10 - (1)Nice weather. (2)Extremely friendly staff. (3)reef buffet very good food in general. (4) UMI EXCELLENT. (5) SIZLER steak house, very good. EXCEPT we were only allowed to eat one time.per 5 days. Not good policy. Resort very clean. Our room 206 the bathroom way to small. Entertainment good, but way to loud. Beach nice . Ingeneral we had a very nice time.our group was overcharged for our tour of of
Harrison cave we could not get an adjustment or refund of the over charge. Overall the
waitresses at all restaurants
were very attentive.Schewanna really stood out and was very special! Kaydean, excellent and went out of her way for us. She does deserve outstanding service.
- jivebunny (6/5): Take ear plugs if you like a peaceful holiday - Big spacious room, but no storage,
Only furniture was a single draw bedside cabinet in the bedroom. Fairly inadequate hanging area with no shelves!
Food pretty good for buffet., breakfast lunch and dinner, varied and largely hot.
Beach area area good size but rarely a lounger without towels on pre breakfast, same around the pool.
Main gripe was pigeons all over the tables especially at Collins the beach bar where we found the food to be very good, but a constant fight to keep the birds away. They Also infested the main restaurant.
The other gripe was the Loud music! It started around 7.30 am and finally stopped at 10pm. Repetitive rap music by the pool, shouty girl bands by the main bar. And the deafening evening singers prevented any conversation, and had us resorting to Ear Plugs!!
Staff were largely indifferent, with just a few exceptions. Snorkeling from the beach, disappointing with virtually no fish.
Room cleaning? Very little done, and not every day, and no towels changed.
Would we go back...No!
- Craigo2804 (4/5): Beware Room Allocation - Beware ! Whilst the hotel is very good , clean , tidy and food choice good you really need to check your room allocation.
We were allocated a good sized room but was right next to service entry and building works with no real view of the garden.
Upon asking for a room change we were advised not possible as reservations team had left for the day and comeback tomorrow.
This we did as requested at 9.30 then were told there is an alternative room but canât tell you where it is !! Comeback at 12 which we did. The room was significantly inferior in size with a view of car park. I felt we had not been listened to and the alternative was going through the motions.
Disappointing response to a perfectly decent request as marketing says views of pool or gardens which we found not to be the case. We are left feeling extremely disappointed as other aspects of our stay are good. Beware and clarify before arriving to avoid similar experience
Danke an Sugar Bay fĂźr diesen wunderbaren Aufenthalt.
- nikkisM284CQ (10/5): Amazing! - What a wonderful place! The hotel was everything we could ask for and the Team who work there were ALL so hardworking, friendly and wonderful people.
- sandybM9741RT (2/5): Not a 4-star experience â left after 3 nights - We booked Sugar Bay Barbados for a 7-night stay but checked out after just 3 nights due to poor customer service and a lack of willingness to accommodate us as guests.
We travelled as a family with a baby and had clearly stated our dietary requirements at the time of booking and again at check-in. Despite this, the food options were extremely limited and unacceptable for a hotel advertising itself as a 4-star all-inclusive resort. No effort was made to improve this or offer alternatives.
We were allocated a room accessible only by three flights of stairs, with no lift available. This was completely inappropriate given that I was recovering from a C-section and carrying a baby multiple times a day, made worse by wet, slippery stairs. When I asked to be moved to where there was lift access, I was told this was only possible if we paid extra to upgrade. The staff member we dealt with, Leanne, was rude, dismissive, and showed no empathy.
The room itself was also very disappointing, with poor hygiene standards and a run-down bathroom more in line with a budget motel than a 4-star resort.
Due to these ongoing issues, we chose to leave early. The hotel refused any form of refund and made no attempt to resolve our concerns or retain us as guests.
Overall, we would not recommend Sugar Bay. Based on our experience, it does not meet 4-star standards.
We spent the remainder of our stay at Wyndham Sam Lordâs Castle and the difference was night and day. The staff could not do enough for us, went above and beyond, and genuinely made our stay feel special. Although it meant paying extra, it was absolutely worth it and we would highly recommend Wyndham Sam Lordâs Castle.
- frequent_tripper_9 (8/5): Lovely place - mostly good - This was our third stay at Sugar Bay, for 7 days. The hotel has a great location. Excellent check-in, with a welcome upgrade of our room. The hotel, facilities etc are all as described and seen in the photo galleria , so good. The staff are also excellent, especially the (large) bar staff and beach staff. The 2 speciality restaurants are included for a total of two visits per week (not 2 each, 2 total) and definitely worth using this option. Breakfast buffet in the Reef is fine, but limited. ( Great egg station). Downsides - food in the Reef seems to have deteriorated from our previous visits; choices not great, lunchtime salads very limited and most "hot" food luke warm. Serving staff e.g. carvers etc seemed disinterested and not trying to make food attractive (or hot). Colin's Bar & Grill good for lunch (waitress service) BUT be sure your food is freshly/well cooked etc. Overall Sugar Bay is reasonable value and a good choice for this part of Barbados
- I9544XAnikkis (10/5): Wonderful, everything weâd hoped for and more! - This hotel is wonderful. Positioned on the beach within walking distance/short drive to many of the islands highlights and historic areas. The Team
At the hotel cannot do enough for you, greet you with a warm Caribbean welcome.
Rooms are comfortable, clean and decorated in bright but relaxing, Caribbean colours.
Food is exceptional, something different each day and to suit everyone, even my fussy Hubbie!
If your spending money to come to Barbados, you can stay here knowing that everything is at hand and youâll be treated so well.
- henryhU4902NK (10/5): Beautiful beach! - Weâve been to a lot of different places, but sugar bay is the only one weâve gone to more than once. You wonât find food like this place has anywhere in the Caribbean! People are amazing!
- C5836YFsuzannep (10/5): Holiday + wedding - We visited Sugar Bay in November 2025. It was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were great, especially the restaurant and front of house. The food was lovely and the speciality restaurants are a must, but do book early. I wasn't so impressed with Sizzle, but I'm not a steak lover anyway, but Umi was great. My only complaint was that there was too much. The evening entertainment is low key. A couple of singers and steel drummers and fire shows. A night or two at The Lazy Mongoose are compulsory, but only after several rum punches at the beach bar đ. We got a special upgraded room which was ocean front because we got married there. Honestly, it was the best day. No fuss. Just me and him, on the beach, with couple of friends we made who agreed to be witnesses. Organising it from the UK was done via email and our wedding organiser was AMAZING. Plus it didn't rain on our wedding day either. Thank you Sugar Bay for an amazing holiday and a really special wedding. See you soon đ xx
- K6960UIkeithk (10/5): Lost in Paradise - We stayed just after just afterXmas into the New Year and we had a great time. New Yearâs Eve the staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great night.Itâs a little slice of paradise with great food and brilliant people. We will definitely be back at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.
- mallysdabest (10/5): Amazing - đ´ Sugar Bay Barbados â Second Stay & Still Absolutely Fabulous! đ´
Weâve just got back from Sugar Bay today after our second stay, and honestly⌠what can I say? It was absolutely fabulous once again.
This time we treated ourselves to an ocean-front room, and wow â it was worth every penny. Waking up every morning (and falling asleep every night) to the sight of the beach, turquoise sea, and palm trees was simply breathtaking. It never got old.
đ˝ď¸ The food was outstanding, as always. My go-to breakfast was smoked salmon on toast with two poached eggs, and a special shout-out has to go to Andrea, who was absolutely fabulous. She cooked the poached eggs, fried eggs, and omelettes to perfection, greeted me every day with a smile, and even started pre-empting my poached-egg order â now thatâs service!
For lunch, we often headed to Colinâs for fish cutters loaded with hot sauce â honestly, thereâs no need to visit the famous Daveâs Shack when these are this good.
Dinner never disappointed. While UMI was a favourite as ever, my personal highlight was the rack of lamb in the main buffet, it was to die for.
⨠The service throughout the resort was fabulous, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Damien behind the beach bar was always attentive remembering our favourite drinks, which is one of the many reasons we came back for a second time.
We absolutely love Sugar Bay and wouldnât hesitate to return again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxed, beautiful, and well-run Caribbean escape đâď¸đ
- Alisonwaite (10/5): My happy place - My husband and I are about to go on our third holiday to Sugar Bay.
We love it here. The staff are excellent, they are all very friendly and they can't do enough for you.
The food is fantastic with a wide variety of different dishes available.
The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped.
We have met many people there who have returned numerous times. Our aim is to get a gold coloured wristband! We cannot fault it and have recommended it to friends, safe in the knowledge that they will enjoy themselves.
Absolutely love it here,it's happy place and am counting down the days until we return
- Dawn634 (10/5): Absolutely superb - Just returned from a two week stay at Sugar Bay. The service is exceptional and always delivered with a smile. These are the happiest friendliest staff I have ever encountered. The food was excellent every day. Lunch and dinner buffet choice was varied and the quality was superb. I was slightly disappointed with breakfast as I like to eat mixed berries natural yogurt nuts seeds and honey - none of which was available. I did enjoy the throwback cornflakes!
Absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful hotel
- harrykK6474TP (10/5): Just brilliant - Look no further than this place. My wife and I travelled on our honeymoon. She has a celiac allergy and it was recommended to us food wise. The catering staff were unbelievably helpful taking her through what she could have and not and even offering to cook up separate dishes upon request.
As it was our honeymoon we were upgraded free of charge to a deluxe ocean view room rather than the standard ocean view that we originally booked. There was a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us also!
One of the best things about this place is just the atmosphere, all the staff from cleaners to waiters to water sports are so friendly, laid back and always wanting to have a chat. They often are laughing and bantering with each other which for me, creates such a nice, relaxed atmosphere on this beautiful Caribbean island.
I cannot recommend sugar bay enough and we are already talking about returning as soon as we can, food is excellent as are the staff and as is the location.
- jod714 (10/5): Nice Xmas break - We spent two weeks over Xmas and New Year at Sugar Bay. This is a lovely hotel & we had a fabulous holiday with our 16 year old daughter.
We paid extra for a sea view room and had uninterrupted views of the sea. Beautiful views and we even saw turtles in the sea from our balcony a couple of times (early in the morning). Minor gripe but I asked for an extra chair on the balcony as there were 3 of us but that seemed to be too difficult.
The beach is lovely. We never had trouble getting sunbeds and the beach guys would arrive & put umbrellas up for shade. There is a sporadic beach service but itâs really not difficult to get up and go to the bar for drinks. The rock wall break points create a lagoon with excellent snorkelling. Just snorkel close to the rocks in the middle break - we saw loads of fish. One day a stingray came into the lagoon and quite close to shore. We didnât spend time around the pool as the beach was so lovely.
Quality of food at the buffet was generally really good. Itâs not a massive buffet but we enjoyed what we had. The New Years Eve buffet was excellent. We had two meals at both Umi and Sizzle. We enjoyed all the food at both. We had lunch every day at Colinâs grill and tried some local dishes (pigs tails and macaroni pie).
Santa arrived on a jet ski on Xmas Day and the fireworks were fun on NYE.
We did an island tour with Sam the Man (he gave us his card while we were on the beach) and a catamaran trip with Silver Moon. Both were great experiences. The hotel is close to the race track and we had a walk there to watch a couple of races on Boxing Day.
I had a massage at the spa & our daughter had a manicure with Xmas nail polish. Spa is small and reasonably priced. We also did the steel pan lesson - great fun.
Gardens of the hotel are small but lots of plants and flowers with hummingbirds flying in and out.
Shout out to the lovely Kimberley who is always smiling and pleasant and to Nicholai who helped us try to work our way through the cocktail menu!
This is a very nice hotel and we would recommend it.
- Karen (10/5): -
- Stacey (10/5): Beautiful and well maintained resort! Would definitely go back! Thanks for a great trip!! - Breakfast was better than expected for a buffet. Food was good with a great variety and a very attentive staff. No complaints at all! The only person who didn't go out of their way to accommodate was Helen at the bar who needs to work on smiling more and being less condescending.
- Randy (10/5): Worth the price definitely will be visiting again. - Excellent service from check-in to check-out.
A wide variety of food, helpful staff and perfect location. They even cooked my favourite dish upon request.Dylan and Samatha are excellent staff đ. The reservations staff were not very helpful during the booking process and discourteous.I was going to book another hotel.
- Vidian (10/5): Un super moment - C est un super hĂ´tel HonnĂŞtement rien
- peter (8/5): A very nice hotel situated on beach - The friendly staff. They could not do enough. The food was excellent We had a poor room accessed from the car park. The entrance to our accommodation block was used to feed cats. Was scruffy and smelly. Room inside was good however
- Andrew (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Definitely would stay again as it was wonderful - Fantastic resort with direct beach access, great food and wonderful staff
- Scott Gerard (5/5): -
- bluebnt (8/5): Many good points but areas for improvement too - Overall, we had a good time at Sugar Bay, and there are definitely folks who are over the moon about this property, but we saw a number of areas it could have been better. As a result we wonât be returning.
First the good parts. The property is very pretty and we enjoyed the fact that the breakwater meant we could go in the water regardless of the roughness of the broader water. Our room was private and exceptionally clean. We had a garden view property, which I was very glad of as the oceanfront rooms are right in the middle of everything, meaning if you are on the first floor and on your patio you have people walking by on the sidewalk right in front of you. Everything was in good working order, though we could only get 1 hand towel and no washcloths.
They did an excellent job varying the buffet so although it wasnât huge, there was always a good variety and different food each day. The food was very good. The serving staff were all excellent; Kay particularly stood out. The 2 specialty restaurants were very good. The drinks at the bar were excellent. They donât have mudslides on the menu, but I highly recommend them.
The other guests were all pleasant. No one was obnoxious or loud. The nightly sunsets were gorgeous.
One place they can improve is the front desk staff. Everyone was either neutral or curt. As first timers, it would really have helped to be given an overview when we checked in, but we were told nothing, causing me to return to the desk numerous times with questions. Examples include how do we get pool towels (on follow-up they gave us cards to get them), where do I make reservations for the specialty restaurants, what are the hours of the buffet, and can we get some drinks in our room (answer yes)? I would not have known to ask for the drinks if it werenât for the Sugar Bay Facebook group, which I definitely recommend joining before you go.
The nightly entertainment is a major area for improvement. There is no posting of the entertainment, so you donât know if you are interested or not. The entertainment is so loud, I could hear it in my room (which was about as far away as you can be) with earplugs in (it went past when we go to sleep). However, the worst was our last night when we purposefully had chosen to eat at Umi as a special dinner overlooking the water. The entertainers went to the stage which was right in front of where we were sitting, plugged in music and jacked up the volume, and then sat down and scrolled on their phones. The music turned our romantic dinner into one where first we were having to scream at each other and the server to be heard, and then we gave up talking and hurried our meal so we could get out of there. It completely ruined the night and left a very poor impression.
If you join the Sugar Bay Facebook group, you will see that the competition for chairs is a major topic of discussion. We were there in high season, and I believe pool chairs were usually gone by about 8 or so because people would reserve them with their towels. When the staff would try to do something, people complained bitterly. We like to sit on the beach, but while you could get chairs at any time, you needed to be there early to request an umbrella before they ran out, usually 9/9:30. And you really need an umbrella, even if you want to tan, because it gets quite hot. This removed the ability to enjoy a relaxing morning in bed because we felt we needed to rush so we could get out and get an umbrella.
So in summary, while Sugar Bay has a number of positive points and excellent staff, they also have some definite opportunities for improvement.
- AmeyaBee (8/5): Kid friendly, all-inclusive, and fairly modern resort! - Returned from a 7-night trip at this amazing resort. Will try to keep it short and simple so hopefully it helps fellow travelers.
What we like: All-inclusive vacations when traveling to the Caribbean Islands during the most wonderful time of the year away from cold north east weather!
What works at Sugar Bay: Amazing staff, great location, fantastic beach which is very very kid friendly, and an excellent bar setup.
What about rooms?: Look, for the price we paid during prime season, the rooms felt slightly lower than our expectation. If you want to save some money, I'd recommend pool facing rooms. Tip: try requesting for the 3rd floor rooms. 2nd floor rooms just have trees in the way and you don't get that amazing beach sound which the Ocean Front facing rooms do offer. Everything was functional though, and the rooms are sufficiently furnished with a fairly powerful AC unit and plenty of wardrobe shelves.
What about food?: They have two wonderful restaurants - The Reef and Colin's which served excellent buffet food and A la Carte respectively. Colin's was our favorite all throughout. Buffet had fairly limited options, but Barbados is also expensive food wise. Good meat selection for every meal, vegetarians sadly had very very limited options (primarily rice and peas/beans, and grilled veggies for lunch or pasta for dinner).
What about drinks?: Their beach bar is where the life of the resort is. Helen, Andre, Joan, Dominick, and a few others that I might have missed is what keeps the party alive from 8 am through 11 pm every day! Drinks available at their rather secluded Irish Pub until 1 am ensure alcohol flow throughout the day (and night). The Irish Pub and Game room can use improvements and did not really feel inviting.
What you might find missing: I read a few reviews which said they missed "eating on the beach" or beach service for drinks (which starts a later in the day). That's just not the resorts style or our style! This ensured the beach also remained very clean throughout. And how lazy can one be to walk 20 steps to get a drink from the bar!
Any Advice/tips?: Ask for 3rd floor rooms if you can and especially if you chose the pool/garden facing rooms. Tip the water-sports/umbrella guys as well as bar tenders!
Specific shout-outs to Tremence, Antonio, Javan, Chloe, Kishon, Mya, Nikki, Carissa, and Kay for always putting on a smile when they saw us throughout our stay.
Overall, a very relaxing and happy vacation. Definitely on the expensive end as compared to other Caribbean Islands we've been to, and with some slight improvements, has a potential to be a perfect 5.
- Nick (8/5): Throughly enjoyed - Staff/food Price of Signature room and size/layout of bathroom is poor.
- seancR5721UM (10/5): Fantastic place!! - Me and my wife visited early December and neither of us have a single bad word to say about it! We are not the type of people to go to the same place twice however this place has potentially changed us. Justin, akeel and Joan (I think) were the best members of staff by far, the latter making the most incredible cocktails. Beach was beautiful and cool floaties in the sea to relax on. Food was small to suit the size of the hotel but honestly it was top class 90% of the time and both of us are relatively fussy. I wouldnât particularly say itâs a great place for kids as there is only one pool however there were quite a lot there during our stay and they were all loving it. Genuinely, anyone that writes a poor review on this place are to be totally ignored! Yes theyâre entitled to their opinion but Iâd strongly suggest that theyâre the issue, not the hotel
- rsr310 (8/5): Beautiful setting, friendly staff, a great holiday - Just back from a 10 day stay over Christmas, ages ranging from 10-74. We stayed in an oceanfront family room.
Positives:
-the view from our balcony was amazing!
-watersport, restaurant, bar staff and cleaning staff really friendly and helpful (special thanks to the crew working at Umi on Christmas Eve for sorting out a special meal for my fussy 10 year old, and at Colinâs for giving us big takeaway cups of ice cream every afternoon)
-pool was refreshing for a dip or a drink at the swim up bar, and just the right size for kids to splash about in
-cups and rubbish were collected around the beach and pool all day, so no gross leftovers to attract bugs
-feels like a small community rather than a hotel
-manager is available during his cocktail hour if you want anything addressed
-always able to get a spot on the beach and the watersport guys found us umbrellas and tables
-sea is beautiful and clear
-some of the singers in the evening were really fun and entertaining
-Christmas day was great and schedules for the week were given out in advance so you didnât miss anything (including Santa arriving in a special way from the sea and giving good quality presents to all the kids)
-delicious cocktails! The daiquiris and mudslides were my favs
-itâs kid-friendly without it being dominated by kids
Areas for improvement:
-our sofa bed had the saggiest mattress Iâve ever seen! After muddling through a few nights on it, we spoke to reception who sent up 2 single rollaway beds very quickly. These were perfectly comfortable, but did take up most of the lounge area in our room
-concierge service let us down badly, took up a lot of time trying to get a single trip organised and took no accountability when it went wrong. The people on duty literally looked at me and said your option is to go or cancel, without so much as an apology for it taking nearly 3 days to book and not actually getting us the trip we had asked for
-the beach is covered in debris from the palm trees and coral from the sea. Itâs quite painful if you accidentally step on these things and we all got small cuts on our feet. Aqua shoes or sandals definitely recommended.
-itâs great that the buffet restaurant has a kids menu, but it was so slow to come that the adults were usually finishing when the kids food arrived. Having a simple pasta and sauce station (plus kid friendly veggies like carrot and cucumber sticks) in the buffet at lunch and dinner for the kids would be really helpful
Overall I would have no problem recommending Sugar Bay.
- 914janets (6/5): Some positives but sadly more negatives. - As almost all reviewers say the staff, with the exception of the Spa staff were very friendly & welcoming. The Spa staff gave the impression they were not interested in arranging the massage which was included in the package we booked.
The setting of the hotel right on the beach with access to safe bathing & snorkelling is excellent. There was the usual sun lounger reserving in place on the beach & around the pool which is always disappointing to see. However, it didnât bother us too much as were hired a car for our stay so were not around during the day.
We were impressed when we entered our Deluxe Signature room as it was very spacious with a sitting area & balcony with a good view overlooking the outside dining & bar area, then the beach. It was a shame it lacked basic amenities like slippers & a shower cap as expected in 4 star hotels. I noticed when looking at the website on arriving home there should have been a coffee maker in the room, which there wasnât. There was black mould in the shower & around the hand washbasin which was separate from the shower & toilet. There was a mosaic tile missing from the low step into the shower.
We thought the food in The Reef was generally good especially the hot food from the lidded Bain Maries. But we were concerned about the lack of covers on other foods such as salads, fresh fruit, desserts, pastries & cakes as there were many flies around. Also, the lack of hand cleaning facilities on entering the dining areas was a concern. We were surprised about that. Similarly there were no facilities for hand cleaning when exiting the toilets in the public area near the reception. Worse than that, no hand drying facility in the ladies toilets apart from a box of tissues by each hand washbasin. There were pigeons flying around the Reef dining area, landing on tables where people were about to sit. Glasses were knocked off the table & broken as they landed on the ground, pigeon poo was on the white table cloths where afternoon tea was served.
Eggs were cooked to order in The Reef and the omelette was very good except on the last day when it was burnt. I wanted a plain bread roll with my omelette so requested this as there were none on display. A kind member of staff said these were normally available at lunch time but she would see what she could do for me. After a wait, which was to be expected she brought me three freshly baked warm bread rolls. That was excellent service but sadly my request the following day was not met with the same response. âThatâs a special order and you have to request it 24 hours aheadâ was the response I got. Explaining that I got some the day before didnât help but I was asked if I wanted to order for the following day which I did. Inconsistencies in service like this should not happen. How can a plain bread roll with breakfast be considered a special order?
We were entitled to use one speciality restaurant during our stay so chose the steak one. I canât eat anything with sugar in it so asked if I could have two starters & a main course as there was no sugar free dessert on the menu. This was not possible! So I had a starter & a main course. The food was fine. Most tables had a green leafed plant in a pot, though ours didnât. I touched one at the next table when it was empty and found it was plastic. I find it hard to understand why some of the beautiful tropical plants in the grounds of the hotel are not used on the tables. The glassware was thick & cheap looking, not what would be expected in a specialty setting.
Coffee or tea was not offered after lunch or dinner so we used a machine which had a supply of paper cups next to it. Frequently this machine was not working as it needed replenishing or was in cleaning mode. Was it too much to expect to be served with coffee or tea served in a cup with a saucer following a meal? One time when the machine was not working after dinner I asked a member of staff for assistance & was told to take a paper cup to the bar where it would be filled for me!
.On the first evening after dinner we were enjoying the entertainment but had to move as the people on the table behind us were swearing loudly. I know Sugar Bay management cannot be responsible for the behaviour of guests but it was very off putting.
Needless to say we wonât be returning to Sugar Bay. It was booked for us by SixStar cruises as a package with a Regent Seven Seas cruise. The two are not compatible! This was our first experience of an all inclusive hotel & will be our last. However, to end on a positive note we enjoyed sightseeing in Barbados very much & plan to return as there are still places we want to visit. We will be looking for self catering accommodation on the West coast.
- nataliek638 (10/5): 5 stars! - Great hotel, highly recommend and would definitely return. The rooms are spacious and clean and the huge king size bed was so comfy. White company products used in the bathrooms are a lovely touch. Location is 10/10 with the hotel being directly on the beach with a gorgeous cove to swim in. Pool is also great and thereâs plenty of sun loungers available for everyone at the beach and the pool all day. The food was fantastic at this hotel! Buffet was always different, very high quality and the steak restaurant was exceptional! The staff here though are truly what make the hotel special, they are so happy and helpful a real asset to the hotel which I hope management recognise! We would without a doubt return to this hotel.
- Moggette (10/5): Sugar Bay simply the best. - Simply the best. Trip number 4 and our 5th already booked. Sugar Bay is and absolute gem, made particularly special because of the fabulous staff. Morgan runs a really great hotel. Pedro (GM) always ready to listen if there are any issues, as are all the staff.
Food is outstanding too, definitely the best all inclusive Iâve ever stayed at. A team of incredible chefs led by Paul.
- 5starmom2015 (10/5): Christmas in Paradise - Beautiful oceanfront resort. The staff is friendly, nice entertainment at dinner, food is excellent. We'll plan to come back soon!
- Mueller (10/5): - Beautiful location and wonderful staff.
- tracywV7611RH (10/5): Paradise - Been home 3 weeks and not got round to review so here goes. It was our first time to barbados and REALLY didn't disappoint! We did a package with ba and they were brilliant, great food good seats (we had the twins at the back going over and premium coming back).
Sugar bay was all i could ask for from check in to room and beach and most of all the staff they are a credit to sugar bay.
We were able to have a walk to some bars along the beach which were lovely in the day and lively by night.
I liked the fact it wasn't a bigger place like we have done before which meant we got to know some great friends and saw them a lot.
We are not someone that revisit a place usually but would def break that rule for sugar bay.
- simon-r-stephens (10/5): Paradise Again - Just returned from our 2nd family trip to Sugar Bay and it did not disappoint. My wife and I went again with our two girls, 17 and 19 and it was just as enjoyable if not better. We had room number 327 which had a lovely balcony that overlooked the beach, it was cleaned everyday and always felt fresh whenever we came back from the beach. Staff were wonderful and it was great to see familiar faces, and to top it all off the food and drinks at all the restaurants were perfect for us. Weâll be back for sure
- Colbyco21 (10/5): Fabulous Hotel - Third time at Sugar Bay and the hotel just keeps getting better. The hotel is fabulous and the staff are all outstanding. We stayed in room 134 (again - thanks for accommodating this request) and was excellent, recently renovated and absolutely no issues at all. As soon as we arrived we were offered a nice cold drink and swiftly shown to our room. We stayed for 7 nights and could book 2 visits to the speciality restaurants âSumiâ and âSizzle both were excellent - you could pay a small charge to upgrade your meal. The beach is superb, soft white sand and you can walk along the boardwalk. The sea is shallow, warm and protected from the waves - i do think the beach staff could possibly rake the beach area first thing in the morning to make it that bit more perfect. The entertainment was very good - starting 7.30 until 10pm. The âReefâ buffet restaurant was excellent both at lunch time and evening meal. The lazy mongoose pub opened at around 9pm and thereâs a pool table, dart board and a large TV - you do need to get in early if you want a seat though. The Beach bar was also very good and the staff worked tirelessly to provide a very good service. Colinâs bar and restaurant was also great for lunch and a nice cold beer. The pool is not very deep and not really big enough for dedicated swimmers wanting to do lengths - however very nice for a cooling dip and the sun loungers are very comfy and relaxing. There is also large library by the concierge desk. Afternoon tea and sandwiches were available at 3pm at the âDriftwood Cafeâ. There is a fridge in the room but you only get 2 bottles of water - water can be collected at reception.
Donât hesitate to book this hotel you wonât be disappointed. Already booked for 11 nights next year.
- Allison2907 (8/5): Sheltered sea area with good snorkelling - Enjoyed our stay and staff very attentive. Impressed with the food and pleased that the buffet is protected from outdoors with automatic doors. Room design was not the best but it was clean, think we were just unlucky with the one given as others were fine.
Favourite aspect of this hotel was the sheltered sea area to allow calm bathing in shallow warm waters. Reservation happening but always able to obtain a bed. Didnât use the pool, it looked nice with comfy sunbeds & lots of toy floats for children.
Very grateful for the complimentary late check out room. Although shared there is privacy for shower / changing. Use of hair dryer.
Spa treatment was excellent and very professional.
On site shop but sadly overpriced.
Easy to arrange a reliable taxi with staff.
Very tasteful decor throughout the hotel. Beautiful Christmas decorations !
- O2003IYsophiep (10/5): Excellent!! - Excellent value for money hotel. Fantastic food everyday. Lovely rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Super friendly and helpful staff. Never have I been to a hotel before with so many repeat guests, with some returning for the 10th time which speaks for itself. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return in the future. The entrance to our room looked over a piece of green land with coconut trees amongst others which is home to a family of monkeys. Lovely to see them outside the room door most days.
- Catherine (10/5): Absolute bliss! Perfect holiday, wonderful staff, superb food , quality drinks - Everyone and everything! Just wonderful The harsh lighting in the dining room
- 404umeshs (2/5): Awful hotel for 4 star maybe 2 star âŚbut staff and service fantastic.. - Location super,Atmosphere like being in a 2 star hotel,Rooms outdated and no sockets accessible, was told all rooms have some sea view absolutely not, grossly overpriced more like a 2/3 Star hotel, very clean super staff, gym outdated
Hardly any Vegan options chef said mash potatoes are vegan as made with margarine!
Limited vegetarian options
Beach super, but options of water sports not commmunicated to guests
Access to rooms for families with babies/pushchairs poor and older persons
A/c controls in rooms very crudeâŚeither too cold ,too hot etc need smarter systems
- Dr Francois MartĂn (6/5): - El hotel estĂĄ bien.
- lesleyn1969 (8/5): Lovely Stay at Sugar Bay with a Few Areas for Improvement - We arrived home from Barbados this morning after spending 11 nights at Sugar Bay â our first time staying here â and overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. I always try to provide honest and detailed reviews, as I rely heavily on them when choosing destinations myself.
Positives
⢠Smooth and Efficient Check-In
Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was ready immediately, which was very much appreciated after a long journey.
⢠Excellent Food Across All Restaurants
The food was consistently very good throughout our stay. There was always plenty of choice, and we never struggled to find something delicious at any meal.
⢠Wonderful, Friendly Staff
Every member of staff we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Their warmth really added to our experience.
Areas That Could Be Improved
⢠Room Cleaning
Although the room was cleaned daily, the standard wasnât quite what Iâve experienced in similar hotels. Coffee was only replaced on 4 out of 11 days, and water was never replaced (although it was always available from reception).
⢠Limited Communal Toilets
There is only one toilet area serving the pool, beach, and bar. While the facilities were always clean, there were only three toilets for ladies. Also, only tissues were provided for hand drying â I really think a hand dryer would be more hygienic and cost-effective in the long run.
⢠Lack of Hand Hygiene Stations
I would strongly recommend adding hand-sanitising stations at the entrances to all restaurants. While I always wash my hands before eating, not all guests do, and this would help reduce hygiene risks.
⢠Gym Equipment
I used the gym on 8 of the 11 days and found it clean and tidy. However, it would be great to have some smaller dumbbells available, as many hotel gyms do. Overall, though, it was better than most hotel gyms Iâve used.
⢠Beach/Pool Area Management
This was the biggest issue. As other reviewers have noted, you need to get up very early to secure a sunbed. Umbrellas were extremely limited, and we werenât always able to get one â a real concern given the strong sun and high temperatures. Towels were also a challenge; I believe providing towels in the room with a strict swap system could help prevent people taking more than one each.
⢠Palm Tree Maintenance
This is a safety concern. On two occasions, members of our party were hit by falling palm leaves while on the beach. The leaves are large, and thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Many trees had dead fronds that clearly needed removing â regular maintenance by a professional would prevent accidents.
⢠Sea Floats Hygiene
The floats in the sea were increasingly covered in algae, becoming completely green and slimy by the end of our stay. Regular cleaning would make them far more pleasant to use.
Overall
Despite the areas that need attention, the food, staff, and general ambience of the hotel were fantastic, and we had a truly enjoyable stay. Would we return? Yes, definitely. I just hope management takes steps to improve these few issues. (I have also provided this feedback directly to the hotel.)
- 474cliffordb (10/5): Better 2nd time - Fantastic again, great friendly staff, especially tony the barman
Good food lots of choice, room very comfy, and great location,
- Barry (10/5): A lovely resort the food was good and the staff were excellent and friendly - The beach was good, and it was very relaxed. Nothing to say about that
- ellygirl34 (10/5): A wonderful stay (with just a few tiny âbutsâ!) - We are just coming to the end of a lovely week of winter sun here at Sugar Bay. Iâll deal with the (very few) negatives first, then move onto the many, many positives of this resort!
Whilst the hotel is beautiful and kept spotlessly clean by the hardworking staff team, our room (107) was much more basic than we had been expecting. It was lovely to have a room which is only yards from the beach, but there were several things which detracted from the positive impression, such as the missing panel on the door lock inside the room, chipped paint on the bathroom door frame, a very noisy (albeit effective!) air conditioning unit and poor ventilation in the bathroom. The room also felt small. I understand that the rooms throughout the resort differ, so our experience may well not be the same as other guests in this respect. In every other respect, the room was fine - serviced every day, and the bed and pillows were comfy. It was also lovely to wake up and hear the sound of the sea so close by. There was lots of storage space for our possessions and a full size fridge, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities (although a coffee station in the resort providing good quality coffee would be a welcome addition, according to some guests weâve overheard!).
The food here is great, a good choice, all freshly cooked and no issues with dietary needs, (Iâm gluten free and this has not been an issue at all). We ate twice at Sizzle and loved it - great quality steaks and cocktails, but the food at the main buffet and at Colinâs Grill is just as good, and weâve eaten really well all week. The beach is gorgeous, and itâs a lovely place to spend a morning chilling, stepping into the lagoon for a dip every now and then. Weather-wise, the temperatures in this last week of November have been great - in the high 20s Celsius, with the odd, quick shower, but mainly sunshine.
As many other reviewers have commented, the staff team here is really what makes this such a fantastic place to spend your holiday! We have been looked after by so many truly kind, helpful, hardworking people, who take a real pride in doing their jobs well. From Reception, Housekeeping, to the Bar Staff and Waiting Team, they have delivered consistently faultless service and helped make our holiday truly memorable.
If youâre looking for a relaxing holiday on Barbados, this resort may well tick as many boxes for you as it has for us!
- alreeve27 (10/5): Excellent hotel and location - 5 stars! - We have just returned from 9 nights at Sugar Bay, and it was fantastic! Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel has a great location right on the beach, with a sheltered area within the sea, for swimming in calmer waters. Plenty of sun loungers and parasols available, and fresh towels every day. The watersports team were very helpful and also offered various activities like paddleboarding and snorkelling. Most people claimed sun loungers pretty early, so we did the same and then went off to breakfast and to get ready. If you are shade bathers like us, youâll want to set up over the left hand side of the beach near the trees for more shade.
The room was lovely and airy and spacious, with a modern bathroom and plenty of storage. We were on the ground floor with a door out to the path along the beach, but higher floors had balconies. We didnât use the pool at all as we much prefer being on the beach, but it looked nice and has a swim up bar. My only slight negative about the room was that we had interconnecting doors on both sides and the soundproofing was not great. I wore ear plugs as we could her talking, coughing and someone snoring next door!
The food was excellent. We ate at the main buffet restaurant every morning and at lunchtime most days. A great spread of hot food, salad etc. It was varied and different every meal, with plenty of choice. Could eat inside or outside. My only complaint here is that as someone who canât eat dairy, dessert was limited. I ate a lot of raspberry sorbet! I did flag this with the team who were very helpful and made sure that something suitable was prepared for me, but I did have to ask each time. And one day ended up speaking to the chef, an English man, who was not friendly at all and was trying to start an argument with me about why there is no need to have dairy free options! So I would recommend speaking to the team in advance in order to make sure you have options. Weirdly there are a lot of gluten free things there, but if you are vegan you will struggle.
All the staff (except the chef) were lovely, and always saying hello when you pass them in the resort. Front desk team very helpful. We had a couples massage in the spa, and would definitely recommend that. There are also activities laid on for guests including a weekly outdoor movie night which was good (recent cinema releases) and a steel pan workshop which I would definitely recommend!
For travel from the airport, we got a taxi and it was 35 US dollars (cash only). I wouldnât recommend taking a taxi to Bridgetown as we were charged 25 US dollars, whereas the mini buses are very cheap and regular. And quite fun!
Top tips for things to do:
- Atlantis submarine tour in Bridgetown; absolutely brilliant
- Mount Gay rum distillery tour in St Lucy (not the Bridgetown one) - worldâs oldest rum distillery
- wander to Pebbles Beach about 15 mins away to see the racehorses being washed in the sea every morning, and swimming! Lots of people down there but you need to get there around 6.30am
- go and watch the horse racing at the Garrison a 5 min walk away - this is every other Saturday I think and it was a lot of fun
- Bridgetown walking tour (found on Viator)
It was an excellent holiday and I would definitely return to Barbados and to Sugar Bay!
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions
- Angela (7/5): Average - Beach and entertainment Room too small. A bit tired all around.
- Bolivians (10/5): Stunning hotel - What a beautiful hotel, great location with the beach on the doorstep.
All the staff were attentive and couldnât do enough for you.
Highly recommend visit to the steak house (part of the all inclusive package)
We will definitely be returning!
- 751anthonye (8/5): 1st visit - Enjoyed our 12 nights in the sugar bay, We asked to be moved as too many children running about at 06-15 in rooms above us, with no fuss at all they found us another room all be it a smaller room but was ok, needs a bit of TLC on a few things.
Nearly all the staff was brilliant from receptionist, bar staff, waiters/waitresses beach staff, We thought the food was very good lots to choose from with 2 signature restaurants to choose from, as well as the drinks.
Just a couple of things let it down, the beach area was not cleaned up from the day before ie used towels left on the sun beds, plastic glasses with and without drinks left.
could do with more toilets near the pool and beach area. would go back again though.
- 811maryanneb (10/5): Excellent stay at Sugar Bay, Barbados - Excellent Hotel overall. Public areas spotless, well stocked and maintained. Staff wonderful and really make this resort top notch. The buffet is smaller however it provides excellent and tasty food options. Food is well seasoned and plentiful. Lots of options for everyone. Loved the local flavors offered. Buffet staff quite willing to accommodate any dietary requirements. Sizzle Steakhouse is excellent. Umi was also good. Colin's grill offered excellent lunch options. Did not try the coffee bar located by Sizzle. Dress is casual.
Rooms and beds comfortable. Daily cleaning is excellent. Beach is smaller with a break wall. Beach is a little rocky in areas. Water shoes will be appreciated. The current is strong.
One feels very safe in leaving the resort. Outside the resort, anyone you encounter will give direction and help if needed. Local buses are right outside the hotel entrance. Lots of local shopping easily accessible. Many excursions to choose from while you enjoy your stay.
- Pinderpants (6/5): Donât believe the Sugar Bay Facebook page hype - Letâs be honest, the staff are amazing, every single one of them try to make your stay enjoyable.
Our room was in the garden block (room 352) which was quiet even though it is close to the Mongoose pub. Housekeeping was good on the whole but inconsistent with clean towels. The shower had issues with hot or warm water taking a long time to flow through.
The buffet food is bland, there is very little salad or vegetables on offer and hardly any local authentic offerings. The breakfast is nearly the same every day but the egg station was really good. We felt that the food was boring and everything is sweet in flavour.
Umi is great with a very tasty menu, Sizzle is also good but be prepared to pay extra costs for a decent steak.
There is entertainment every evening, some were of the acts are better than others.
Set your alarm for 5am to reserve sunbeds by the pool, by 7am they will all be reserved. The beach is great with the Watersports team doing a great job finding you beds and a beach umbrella. We had no seaweed in November.
We donât go to the same place twice so will not be returning, we felt it was a lazy place and didnât understand the big hype on the Sugar Bay Facebook page, however, every one expects different things from their holiday and this hotel didnât live up to our expectations for the price we paid and the star rating.
- micklois (10/5): SUGAR BAJAN đ§đ§ EXPERIENCE - Sugar Bay was an experience not just a resort.
We flew Virgin Atlantic direct from Manchester.
On time but just a few niggles with the Virgin Atlantic experience, economy delight is just not worth the extra, same food, same entertainment, same service etc. Only useful if you're over 6 ft .
Food not really that good but not the end of the world, too many drinkers on plane having a few too many, (because it's free and they can). Unfortunately they then get loud and moany when there's no booze of their choice left. Some of these were cabin crew from other airlines??
Other niggles, paper cutlery is not a good idea e when the foods moist ??
Last niggle of the flight,
(I promise), the headphones are cheap and very poor quality, fix it so we can bluetooth our own to the entertainment and also I couldn't access the free flying club internet as it was too complicated.
Arrival on time into Grantley Adams and it was crazy busy . The transfers need some working on as we were told to stand near a yellow box and someone would shout us, unfortunately another 30 people were told the same.
Eventually off we went on a private transfer that took us inland to avoid the crazy coastal traffic that is Barbados , I lo ed this as it showed you a slice of community life on the Island.
Having visited the island back in 1987 Pirates Inn on Brownes gap I can see that millions have been spent on some beach front accomodations but absolutely nothing on the coastal traffic infrastructure.
Terrible roads, awful pedestrian walkways akin to 3rd world.
It is quite intimidating being a pedestrian on the coastal rd as the ZR van drivers are crazy and you can see them often overtake in very dangerous places to try and get to the next customers first.
A very poor standard of driving in heavy tourist areas. Need to get some speed cameras up to get some revenue to spend on the roads.
(However I have wandered off topic here a bit đ¤Łđ¤Ł)
Arrived at resort after a chatty and informative transfer with Nicholai like all Bajans they love to chat and engage with visitors to their homeland đ§đ§.
Check in very quick, welcome drink and off to room 131, ground floor behind the pool. Great room with large balcony, 2 padded sun loungers but not much view due to the heavily tree and bush laden resort (not a criticism).
Excellent AC lovely spacious room, couple niggles , needs access to room through patio to be lockable, needs magnifying shaving mirror in bathroom, probably a ceiling fan to better circulate the cool air evenly throughout the room. TV Amazing.
Insect repellent and tablets provided in the room and to be honest we did get bitten even after using the usual skin so soft, citronella etc and we expected to considering we are on a TROPICAL island but I dont think this was in the room.
Sunbeds could get busy round the pool but plenty on beach and always somewhere to chill and relax.
Advice for SB ( the sunbed pads need replacing with waterproof ones, the existing ones are now suffering from stains and mould damage, the actual sunbeds are great it's just the pads, would also look so much better and be much more practical after one of the numerous short, but often torrential showers, which meant you often sat on a soggy bed, resulting in a soggy towel and prob more costs in towel laundry.
Pool bar great, pool depth be careful, very very shallow.
Another niggle was the distinct lack of poolside and beach bar toilets , only 2 stalls and no urinals for gents just behind reception, to service the restaurant, the pool, vthe beach bar and beach nearby.
To be honest we were lucky to have ground floor near pool and used this all the time for the toilet.
Atmosphere and ambience at Sugar Bay was by far and away STAFF led and this was the overwhelming reason the resort felt happy, typically Bajan, customer focused and hospitality and service were great. Drinks and food all excellent, UMI great and Sizzle great.
Was disappointed that Blush coffee shop was a pay extra facility.
Colin's beach bar excellent daily special and a pleasant place for lunch, in my opinion should be open 10-10 daily to provide that extra choice and disperse guests a little more evenly to avoid cloggin the Reef restaurant and bar at meal times.
We were there for 9 nights and can honestly say never had one remotely poor meal, the food was always great quality.
Maybe crisps and snacks at the bar ?
24 hour coffee machine on the beach decking was always welcomed early mornings while savouring the view.
Regular evening entertainment was very good from fire eating limbo show to singers and dancers ,car enjoyed this all. We only visited the Mongoose pub a couple of times, not much atmosphere here and would maybe benefit from earlier opening IE 1800-0100 to develop more vibe.
Possible karaoke as it's out of the way (only a suggestion peopleđ¤Łđ¤Ł)
I hope this review gives you a flavour of Sugar Bay , would I return? , in a flash.
I feel that this resort is clean and tidy and SAFE (as is the whole island outside to be honest).
I cannot stress enough how much the staff are the main reason so many people we met were return visitors. I can't say a bad word about any member of staff , their friendly Bajn smiles and greetings made you feel valued and welcome.
It was also nice to see the younger members of staff being mentored by their elders ,Joan, Sophie, Kay Damien , Nicholas M all setting great examples of hospitality and engagement with guests.
In conclusion !
(I know, bout time eh đ¤Łđ¤Ł).
A Bajan hospitality experience hugs you till you leave.
Cheese on bread â¤ď¸

- 778vickyk (10/5): Fabulous Sugar Bay - Beautiful hotel set in a stunning beach location, with the most fantastic attentive staff who all honestly want you yo enjoy your holiday. Food is varied and lots of choice, Umi speciality restaurant was our favourite.
- carlr1310 (10/5): An excellent hotel. - The Sugar Bay is an excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food and drink is as expected for this class of hotel. The facilities are good that we tried and we could not find a complaint {without really nit picking). The mudslides are a must, at least once on your stay.
- CamilleNYCDiva (10/5): Beautiful Resort with a Terrific Staff - We just returned for Sugar Bay after a 6 night stay in an oceanfront king room.
The most impressive thing about this resort is the staff. Efficient, pleasant, friendly,
happy to be working there.
The food is very good, the buffet is smallish but he resort is small. The best meal of the day is dinner, Jumbo shrimp show up is creative and delicious ways, There's a carving station. Every night there's some kind of pasta. Lunch is good, too, and breakfast is basic. There is indoor and outdoor seating.
The room we had was wonderful, spacious and clean with terrific furniture. There are no drawers for your clothes, but there are cubbies that work. Bedding is excellent.
You do not need a lot of clothes, This is not a fancy place with fancy people.
The grounds, especially around to pool are beautifully landscaped. There is a pool bar with cute submerged stools. Get there early to get a lounge chair, Really early.
The bay, where you can go into the water, is protected by a man made reef, rocks, that block the big waves. There are no waves at the shore but you will need water shoes for the pebbles at the edge of the water.
In the six days, I never left the resort. The guests are mostly from the UK and they like Americans.
- fatandfrantic (10/5): Lost in Paradise - Our Independent Travel Agent recommended the Sugar Bay Hotel when we enquired about a break in Barbados. She definitely knows what we like and this family owned, boutique feel Bajan hotel was absolutely perfect for us. We travelled with our two adult sons and we all enjoyed the smaller resort, relaxed vibe of the hotel.
The hotel sits on the edge of a lovely beach with a purpose built breakwater which creates a gorgeous swim area. There were a couple of water hammocks in the sea and snorkels, paddle boards, kayaks available at the hotel. The hotel has a small pool area with swim up bar which you really donât need with such a super beach on the doorstep.
Iâm not a fan of buffet food restaurants other than for breakfast. However the buffet food (lunch/dinner) served in Reef offered a good variety of choice which wasnât in huge quantities so got a quick turnover and was therefore generally freshly served rather than left standing throughout the meal service. There are speciality restaurants UMI and Sizzle at which you can eat two meals per 7 nights stay. Beyond that thereâs a $25 surcharge for additional bookings. We ate at both - Sizzle twice for great steak, chicken etc and Asian at UMI - both very good. Colinâs Beach Bar was fab for lunch for freshly cooked burgers, wings, salads etc. Afternoon tea at Driftwood Cafe fills a gap if you skipped lunch and plan on eating dinner later in the evening, other than that you can help yourself to teas and coffees from there throughout the day.
There is entertainment most evenings, generally a singer with a laid back vibe.
We had a signature room which was spacious and comfortable, great pillows, fridge, good air con and White Company toiletries.
The staff are great, they engage with you, are totally on the ball and all seem to be happy in their work. Special thanks to Keshawna and Nicolai who made our stay lovely with their interaction and knowledge of the hotel. The hotel MD was visible, chatting to guests, asking for feedback and making sure people are enjoying their stay. The hotel works within the local community supporting the homeless with meals and other initiatives.
It was easy to get around and visit places from Sugar Bay. Carlisle Bay shouldnât be missed for the sea alone - we spent the day there at the Boatyard which weâd recommend. We went solo to Oistins Fish Fry which whilst an experience we thought was somewhat underwhelming.
Would definitely return here, it really is a little piece of heaven.
- Go50044348725 (10/5): Amazing - 2nd time around for us , we visited 2 years ago with our extended family and our teenage children . We picked it again to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and it didnât disappoint, we had a truly amazing time at Sugar Bay , the staff , the food , the beach ohh and the cocktails .. the mango daiquiris , rum runner all tasted amazing! Thank you again to the entire team at sugar bay ! Food was amazing đ¤Š
- U3256CWkellys (10/5): Amazing best holiday ever - Our first time visiting the island on the 11th of October for one week from the uk, one week wasnât enough! I have never been to a country or hotel where everyone literally everyone was so kind caring happy, the hotel felt like home, I liked it wasnât a huge complex, it was compact and the feel is just one to be witnessed, thank you for an amazing stay, nothing was at fault room perfect beach perfect food beautiful, one drink isnât enough you have coffee water juice lined up and sometimes and extra surprise , the staff took time to ask about you your life what you would like to see and do while visiting they would recommend places to go, our whole trip was the most relaxing holiday I ever have had! Thank you for learning us the slow calm pace of life even for one week, we are booking to come again next October and already counting the days, thank you for making me fall in love with Barbados, itâs out now favourite place xxx
- hadrien (7/5): Thank you to all the great staff at the bar and cleaning staff. - Beautiful beach. Great location especially if a car is rented. Not too big of a hotel. Felt authentic. Pool and beach were fine. Hotel very near west coast with bluer and calmer waters. The food was not always good and so was the delivery of the quality of the cocktails. The entertainment room is very small.
- 596jodied (10/5): Literally a dream. Heaven on earth. - A gem! A boutique feel. The staff are the most amazing part, they are really kind and happy. The beach is beautiful with a small area of coral to snorkel. The food is delicious and loads of choice. It's gorgeous. The decor was very sweet too. We saw monkeys too in the trees, beautiful birds and the kids saw a stone ray too.
