Was told it was a non-refundable booking. BEWARE when you book. Meanwhile they put us in a different room from what we booked. So they can change contractual agreement and I can't. Loved that the balcony faced the water and we could watch the sunset from the balcony. The breakfast was nice, but not enough variety for four mornings. Staff member Sabir was very friendly and helpful The phone in the room did not work, and the shower curtain rod was pulled away from the wall so that it hung down and the curtain did not hang properly. This caused water to go on the floor and clearly this has been a problem because there was an area next to the tub that has seen some damage. We notified the front desk, but neither concern was addressed during our stay. Other than the staff member Sabir, the check in staff were very lackluster and were not welcoming.

• Robert (8/5): Nice but needs some esthetic and comfort upgrades - Our room was on the second floor of the Anchor Inn. We had a nice view from balcony with a partial view of the water. A bit of disappointment was the bathroom because it had two large wall patches in the tub area that were not painted including the walls where they meet the ceiling. Also the bottom portion of the tv cabinet was damaged and not well maintained. The beds were comfortable but the mattresses should either be rotated or replaced because of worn in body positioning. The entrance door and door sill (rotten wood) was leaking outside air when windy outside. Room lighting definitely needs to be brighten up and a comfortable chair added.

Just a few things that needed fixed. All in all. Everything was great the view was beautiful. We will be back again next year .

At our arrival while checking the room, I noticed the bathroom was dirty and the sheets of both beds were dirty, we were moved to a different room, so that was inconvenient after we unpacked. We will never stay again in this place. Too much money and is not worth it.

• Venture08501767616 (6/5): Beware the undisclosed $15 parking fee - Overall this two night stay was a good experience at Anchor Inn. Our family enjoyed the pool at the Marina Bay next door and the sunsets from the dock were great. The experience was soured a bit at checkout when each night was $15 higher than the amount quoted in the confirmation email. As another reviewer has mentioned, they will assess this fee as a "parking fee" even though it isn't disclosed in the confirmation and their booking site says parking is free. Beware. They also just started offering a complimentary breakfast. That is great, but you can tell it is just getting off the ground. The first morning there was no fruit, no milk, no cereal, no forks, tea bags but no hot water, etc. It's great that they are bringing it back, but it might take a little while till they hit their stride. I would check out other properties on the island before visiting here again.
