Everything was perfect for what we wanted and needed. Along with the staff being very transparent and helpful. Such a good time. Have recommended to friends already and will again.

It looks charming from the outside, but it is quite dated, and the room furniture, particularly the bed, was extremely uncomfortable. I’d only recommend for a very brief stay.

Also, there were exposed wires underneath my ac unit and my little ones were very curious about them. Definitely need to address that. Other than that I really liked this hotel. Loved the distance from there to the boardwalk and also the pool was great too! I’d stay here again for sure, they just need to make some adjustments, especially with the exposed wires.

The double room is quite small and tight to manuever in for 2 people. The floors were quite dirty when I had to wipe up leaking water from the rainstorm from the window.

The room was too small for two people, very cramp. The mattress is worn and when two people get into bed, it sunk to the middle of the bed. No coffee maker in the room, was told the room was too small for a coffee maker. No room for a chair to sit in, had to sit on the bed at all times. Only 3 hangers in the closet. Very little room for your luggage.

• LISA (10/5): - The hotel is a registered historic building, so it’s not modern. BUT the room was freshly painted and super clean. Fixtures were a little dated, but again, clean and well cared for. 2 minute walk to the boardwalk, and in easy walking distance to restaurants, etc. we parked our car when we arrived and didn’t move it until we checked out. My only complaint is they provide a coffee maker, but no coffee. Had to run to the bodega at 9:30 at night.

Second room's toilet overflowed and brown water with excrements seeped through the floor... Maybe that's why the carpet in the first room was wet.. staff said "it happens sometimes" as if it was a regular occurrence.

They have a - Few blocks away from the beach, it’s old but doesn’t smell old, it’s pretty clean. There’s a rooftop that you can watch the sunset as well if you love the sunset or to just get a fresh air. We were mostly out so if you are looking for something decent to crash on for few nights, this is great. That it didn’t have another sink besides the bathroom.

• Rhonda (2/5): The room was very clean, but way to tiny for 2 people to stay in. - I like that it was close to the beach. I like that the room was clean. The room was very small. I was told I was getting a bed and a couch. As soon as I opened the door the bed was right there. I had a view of a backyard. The hotel was dark while entering. The dresser drawers opened automatically daily. When it rained the television went off for 2 hours, the refrigerator on Friday went out while I was out all day and I had to throw food away that spoiled. There’s no one that manages the hotel at night. The managers are across the street. I checked out a day earlier due to an emergency. I received no funds back due to this. I wasn’t told what time check out was until I had asked. The photo on booking.com is misleading. It’s more of a motel than a hotel. No complimentary breakfast. They only have a soda and ice machine. I’ve been trying to contact booking.com and haven’t heard back from anyone as of yet.

• Latoya (8/5): The Staff will Make it all Worth It! - I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the staff and location! These two were so AMAZING that it made my other concerns less of a big deal. My smaller concerns were the bathroom and air conditioner. First, my sink drained VERY SLOWLY. I found out from the front dest that their previous guest were cleaning their sand filled items there causing it to slow. Also, I didn't want to complain about the shower curtain, but a fresher one would have been nice. Lastly, my room was EXTREMELY COLD. I had to call for help as it was a unique way to control my air conditioning unit. Overall though, my daughter and I were happy with our stay!

Deb at the front desk was excellent and attentive my whole stay. She was excellent. I have my room have the cleaning staff in my room one day out of my stay and they only made my bed. They did not replace the toilet paper, give me additional towels, wash cloths or a bath mat. There was a HUGE bug rehung the toilet that sat there until I cleaned it the last day of my stay. The toilet the filthy. I did not clean it because it was gross.
• Patricia (10/5): Calypso Hotel - Great - Very good room near the boardwalk.
• Vanessa (7/5): It was ok and very comfortable - It had a kitchenette with all the utilities I needed. I stayed for 5 days, and the housekeeper didn't clean or vacuum the room. She would just collect the garbage and bring clean towels.
• Kenya (10/5): - Plenty of free parking. Very close to the beach exactly 1 block away from the boardwalk. Everything is within walking distance. Decent, clean room for my husband and I. Not a big room but it’s fine for just 2 people. Very good price compared to the other places to stay in the area. No pool but it’s connected to Quebec so you have access to that one which is right across the street. The roof top deck is also nice.
• James (4/5): Wouldn’t stay here again, only if I needed the location - Checking in early and location were the only two positives of the trip! Room was way smaller than pictured, the little soap holder in the tub broke off and the hotel staff didn’t seem phased by it at all…also weren’t in any kind of rush to fix it
