I had breakfast which was very generous and good value at £8.
I will certainly be back in the future. I was happy there and did not find anything to fault.
- David (10/5): Will go back. - Very comfortable bed, great staff, great Sunday lunch.
- Paul (8/5): Great Staff, amazing breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Fabulous value! - Staff could not have been more helpful. Although the rooms are dated, they were immaculate and comfortable. The full English breakfast was worth a visit in itself!
- james (10/5): - We love this lovely village pub! Staff are always very friendly and helpful and even suggested a nice walk for us, which was great! Food is delicious and very well priced, our room was huge and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely be back. Many thanks everyone. Nothing

- Francesca (10/5): Lovely short stay - Good location, staff were very nice and attentive. There was a spider in our room but honestly they move so impossible for them to find and prevent completely, also a more countryside location so is to be expected. Not a complaint at all.
- david (8/5): a very comfortable two night stay - EXCELLENT STAFF AND COMFORTABLE ROOM NOTHING
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (8/5): Yes i will give this a try again sometime - Did not stay for breakfast, got called away with my work, Very quiet country village location which i enjoy being from a country background. Room was very clean staff were excellent to me, including giving me a free half of beer when i ordered my pizza. There was no chocolate in my room as advertised, and no toilet brush in the bathroom/shower area, not very hygienic.. Thought the room could do with air fresher in it, felt abit stuffy during this hot weather, Window latch broken in room 3. I did think my pizza i ordered was no where near what i expected, Certainly not worth £17, and wasn't a hot n spicy pizza like i normally have
- Amanda (9/5): Very friendly welcome, lovely staff, good beer and comfortable stay - A charming location in a beautiful village, a really lovely warm welcome from the staff, all of whom looked after me very well.
Superb breakfast the next day for an extra £12 which I thought was excellent value. They don’t serve food on Monday and Tuesday, but you can dial in from just eat or Deliveroo. I would be very happy to stay here again as it’s an excellent base for exploring beautiful countryside and nearby attractions such as Calke Abbey.
They serve three good ales in the bar, I enjoyed a good night’s sleep because the road is actually very quiet.
- Robert (8/5): Pleasant stay in good location. - Pleasant room with large bathroom. Breakfast was not available.
Shower controls difficult to use.
Coffee machine temperamental /no instant coffee supplied.
- Maria (9/5): Had a great time perfect location 😁 - Perfect location, food & drink on site Nothing
- Peter (9/5): Great pub stay in a nice village. - Great location in a lovely area. Friendly and helpful staff. The girls working in the bar/ restaurant were top notch...... very friendly and we had an interesting time with some of the local regulars.
Food was good, but a few things were off the menu, as we were eating late on a Saturday night, so that's understandable. No breakfast was available due to staff issues, which was a pity but didn't spoil the stay.
- Maria (8/5): Close to Donington Park for World Superbikes, food great, great service, would definitely recommend - Close to where we were going
Had everything we needed No A/C but I’m sure they weren’t expecting a heat wave
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Lovely pub with large beer garden at the rear and plenty of parking. The accomodation is in a separate building just behind the pub. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It was well-stocked with a coffee machine, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer etc. Breakfast was available in the pub for overnight guests at an extra charge but we didn't try it. We had an evening meal in the pub which was lovely.

- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (9/5): Well priced lovely stay! - Very friendly staff. Room was well equipped- glasses/ coffee machine/ tea and biscuits. Room was lovely and warm- bed linen and towels were of a high quality. Although my room was at the front I was not disturbed by any traffic. Would stay again but hopefully get to visit the lovely pub! Sadly I couldn’t have breakfast because it didn’t start until 7.30am and I had to leave. Also there wasn’t any food available on the nights I stopped. I realised this after I booked. But I could have ordered food in if I wanted to.
Because it was a working trip- the facilities didn’t really suit this (it was a dressing table rather than a desk). So this was a bit uncomfortable. This was my fault not the property’s.
Having the light switch by the bed and a socket would have been useful.
- Tony (8/5): Would stay again good luck them . - Nice pub but didn’t do food that night was directed up the local Indian which was excellent, friendly staff. Good cooked breakfast Bed was uncomfortable and duvet a bit light had to double up with the one of the other twin bed
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -

- Alison (10/5): What a gem, really want to keep this place my little secret! - Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, exceeded expectations for cost. Fluffy towels, toiletries, very spacious cosy room. More responsive lighting on the stairway, minor issue for consideration

- Laura (8/5): Very pleasant stay - Nice decor, huge bed!! Carpets are a little dated and the hall and stairs had a very fusty smell!!!!

- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (6/5): Pleasant - We didn’t experience too much of it as a we didn’t arrive until late.
The room was clean though and beds were comfy Our friends picked up our key for us as we were at a wedding. This was fine.
However, our friends partner arrived at the inn later by himself and gave her name so he could get access to their room. Someone at the inn however, gave him our key though instead of theirs even though he gave his partners name. He then showered in there and had all his stuff in there so they ended up staying in that later that night.
This meant that we paid for a deluxe family room but ended up with a twin room on the ground floor right next to the road and the cars were really loud. We weren’t happy about that. We also didn’t know that breakfast was included.
- Langford-jones (9/5): Gorgeous, family feel, friendly stay! - The breakfast was amazing particularly the veggie options! Room was perfectly decorated, lots of coffee and some biscuits. Bathroom was gorgeous - looked brand new with an amazing shower. We had a few issues with our room keys being given to the wrong people- caused some issues between guests. Someone else has a shower in our room and one of our guests had their room cancelled due to a leak so had to find alternative arrangements which wasn't ideal as we had all planned to stay together.
- Colin (9/5): Superb - Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Staff were so helpful and obliging. Food was superb.
