- bahjat (10/5): - I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Le Agavi in Positano! Everything exceeded my expectations – the hotel is beautiful, the services are outstanding, and the atmosphere makes you feel relaxed from the very first moment.
A big advantage is the well-organized transport service, available every hour, which makes getting around very easy. The staff is extremely kind, always attentive, and ready to help with anything you need.
A special thank you to Elisabetta at the reception – she is a truly wonderful person, very professional and dedicated. She helped me with everything, from reservations to every little detail, making my stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this hotel! Every time I come back to Positano, I will definitely choose Hotel Le Agavi again.

- Kirsty (10/5): Best hotel in Italy!! - Everything!! The property itself is exceptional and exceeded all of our expectations. The views are absolutely surreal, the location was perfect and all of the facilities are the absolute best in Positano. The pool was great, but the real standout was the beach. We loved the direct access into the water, the sea taxi to get to town as well as the beach front restaurant. A buzzer for cocktails while you sunbathe overlooking the ocean, need I say more?
The staff were just incredible, they made our stay incredibly special and went above and beyond for us at all times.
The food at all the restaurants were 10/10!
The rooms were perfect, very luxurious and clean. Beautiful bathrooms and views so gorgeous we almost wanted to stay in the room all day. They are very thoughtful with the toiletries too, including toothbrushes and shaving kits which we really appreciated. Can’t fault one single thing.

- larastheme (10/5): Le Agavi Hotel - Hotel is 5 stars for service, staff and location. Entire stay was nothing less then exceptional is service and quality. Would recommend any who is looking for a first class accommodation to inquire availability at Le Agave!
- jgevans619 (10/5): A most beautiful and welcoming hotel. - The Le Agavi is a beautiful hotel with amazing views of the Mediterranean. Every room has a private balcony with furniture. Although our room was not large, it was spotless with all the amenities including safe, minibar, hair dryer, and a large closet. We were there from October 4-7, 2025, as a part of a small Tauck Tour. The hotel staff were excellent particularly the Concierge. Our luggage was left behind by the airlines and staff went out of their way to make contacts with the airport in Naples to have it delivered once it arrived from the States. They were so courteous and so helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts including pastries, fresh fruit, coffee and specialty coffees as well as scrambled eggs (that were very good), sausages etc. The shuttle bus to the town was very reliable and on time. We at dinner at the onsite restaurant, Remmese, and the sea bass, fillet, pasta entries and sides were all delicious. Because it is built on the side of a cliff, there are steps but elevators as well. Staff showed us how to use the elevators as you had to go down a floor, go to the elevator across the hall and down or up to get to the floor you wanted but this is necessary since it is on a cliff, but it is easy to navigate once shown. We had a most enjoyable vacation there and would definitely return.
- MAURO JOSE (8/5): Ótimo hotel , localização , serviço preocupado no bem estar do hóspede.
Simplesmente dispensou , ficou falando mal , nervoso , despreparado.

- clct75 (10/5): Breathtaking - Le Agavi is absolutely stunning.
It’s perched high above Positano with panoramic views that take your breath away. Every room offers a spectacular outlook over the coast, so sitting on your balcony in the morning while sipping espresso, you feel like you’re a world away.
The restaurant is excellent, with delicious food and an atmosphere that perfectly captures the magic of the Amalfi Coast. We had a lovely dinner and wine pairing. Service throughout the property was warm and seamless. The convenient shuttle into town made exploring Positano effortless.
From start to finish, our stay at Le Agavi was exceptional. I truly hope I can return again.
- M915ONtimh (10/5): Exceptional Hotel Within Reach of Positano - Situated about 1KM outside of Positano on a hillside sits Le Agavi. A hotel that offers exceptional views of the sea, the town of Positano and the surrounding mountains. Prepare to be stunned by the views.
The staff are warm and welcoming and offer to take care of every need - including your luggage which may be needed with the multiple steps involved in getting to your room.
The rooms are spacious and clean with everything you will need.
The beds are comfortable - to say the least.
The bar and restaurant are good to great. The morning breakfast is wonderful. We truly enjoyed the food and the Italian coffee.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. The only consideration is its distance from Positano: we found it a bit too far and dangerous to walk to, but the shuttle service was helpful.
- NicolaPapas (10/5): Memories were made! - Our stay at Le Agavi was magical and romantic! Every view from every window and terrace are breathtaking. Breakfast with live music was so unique. The shuttle drivers entertained us during the drives to and from the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and airy with incredible views and our own terrace. Walking around the grounds of this hotel will have you imagining that you're on the set of a movie and you are the main character!
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect blend of everything for our Honeymoon - Breathtaking view form everywhere - from room, breakfast, pool, restaurant, beach club deck & restaurant
- rdr0459 (8/5): Beautiful views!!! Friendly Staff - The hotel is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the views from our room. Only complaint was that some services were closed as it was end of season and we should have been made aware.
- Simon (8/5): Good - Views Live music at breakfast
- Bader (6/5): -
- PrincessVahineMaui (10/5): An amazing vacation - A beautiful place outside of town. All rooms have great views. There are different categories of rooms with different prices. We will get the same service whether in the cheapest room or the most expensive. Breakfast is included. It’s more food, including pastries and rolls and fruits and meats and yogurts, than you could ever ask for. Beautiful view too There’s also a coffee/espresso machine in each room. A little refrigerator with water, juices and soda. The maid comes in every day, changes your sheets, towels, and bathrobes. The front desk can’t do enough for you to help
You with all your needs. There is a shuttle at hotel every hour from the morning until midnight that takes you to town and brings you back. It’s perfect since it leaves you in the middle of town close to all the shopping. There is a place in town that makes sandals while you wait. He measures them to your feet and they are done in around 10 minutes. You pick the color and you pick the style. Around $100
You must take a cooking class at Il Ritrovo Restaurante. The restaurant will pick you up and take you back to hotel when done. Tia Mary Lou who taught the class is a gem. We learned how to make stuffed zucchini flowers, ravioli and making the dough, cooking a lemon Branzino fish and making the most amazing cookies that had no flour! It was only chopped up almonds, and they were so tasty. We added chocolate chips to some of them They made you feel like family. It was one of the most awesome experiences that we have ever had. After we cooked, we got to eat everything and we served wine and Prosecco. The view while eating was perfect! Cooking classes were $150 per person and well worth it. There are usually 4 to 6 people at a class

- Heidi (5/5): - Location Not 5* standards we are used to
Breakfast was poor
Rooms dated
- GrandTour573632 (10/5): Incredible service, amazing people! - Amazing service! Arrived in the port of positano with no idea how to get us or our luggage to the hotel, called via WhatsApp and they had a water taxi there within five minutes. Even when small issues arose (that were out of their control) we were treated generously. The complimentary shuttle is very convenient and drops you off right by all the well known shops. The rooms were spotless with housekeeping service twice a day. We were on our honeymoon and they threw in complimentary champagne, a free dinner, and a sunset boat cruise. The food at La Serra was delicious and they cater to all dietary requests. The included breakfast was also delicious and we were sad to be missing it on our departure, but the hotel packed us breakfast to take on the airport transfer they arranged. Everyone working there really cares about your experience and the guests they are caring for. Genuinely amazing experience and can’t wait to go back!
- Crowlela (10/5): Incredible stay - What a wonderful hotel! I had no idea what to expect but this is an incredibly unique hotel with absolutely incredible views. The room was lovely and our private patio exquisite. The beach club was gorgeous - our weather was a bit too chilly to fully enjoy it but imagine it’s outstanding in summer weather. Breakfast was included and had many fresh, delicious options. Live string music was a nice surprise! Dining options for dinner are limited. We did not eat on site. Staff was lovely and very helpful. If you have the opportunity, reserve the private space with whirlpool, sauna, steam room and cold room. It’s wonderful! The shuttle into town was very helpful, even if a bit chaotic. We did discover on our last day that you can walk stairs down to/up from town in about 20 minutes. It’s a tough climb but a good option.
The only thing I didn’t like was the bar. It was not a comfortable space to linger. If weather was warmer, the terrace would have been great, but if cool, windy, raining, not a great spot.
Word of caution- the rooms and other amenities are accessed outside via hundreds of steps up/down the cliff side and in some cases a small funicular. If mobility is a challenge, this hotel is not for you.
Thank you Le Agavi! We hope to be back!
- Mary (10/5): - Incredible views from room and terrace. Staff were wonderful, friendly, always wanting to help with whatever you need. Breakfasts were wonderful, incredible selection, view and live music each day. Pool is lovely and has pool bar staffed, beach access very comfortable, includes menu of food and drinks. Water taxi available for pickup from Positano pier is so helpful. We enjoyed the spa on the property as well as the two restaurants available.
- Katarzyna (10/5): Cudownie spędzony czas w przepięknym miejscu - Przepiękne miejsce
Przepyszne śniadania z cudownym widokiem
Czysto w pokojach , super rozwiązanie - zjazd windą na prywatną plażę ,
Wyśmienite jedzenie, obsługa na najwyższym poziomie
- O7737OKjohnf (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Everyone we met at the hotel was exceptional, so polite and helpful. Everything is automatic from the moment you step out of the car on arrival, your bags magically go to your room and Melania from the front desk checks you in and then escorts you to your room. Amazing place to stay and very convenient to take the water taxi into town
- dylanfG3835GY (10/5): Honeymoon Perfection - Le Agavi was everything we could have imagined for our honeymoon. After arriving the day after our wedding, we were warmly welcomed by Elizabeta, who gave us a tour of the hotel and helped with any questions or needs we had. Giuseppe was fantastic by the pool and eager to take care of our food and drink requests along with providing valuable information about Positano. Mauro was incredible down by the beach, consistently checking in to ensure our experience was perfect and adjusting our chairs and umbrellas when needed. The shuttle into town, with pickups and drop-offs every hour, was an added bonus. Positano is beautiful, but the views from Le Agavi brought an extra level of magic to the trip. Le Agavi is a five-star hotel that truly goes above and beyond for its guests.
- laurent (10/5): - L’originalité avec le logement et le funiculaire. Le français du personnel a été très très apprécié. Les prix excessifs du repas à la plage
- C7861GNkarenk (10/5): Excellent hotel - This hotel is stunning inside and out. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. This hotel goes over and above your expectations. They certainly made me and my husband feel very welcomed.
- davsurf (10/5): Amazing location and stunning views - Highly recommend a stay at Le Agavi. Stunning views, great rooms and amenities and an excellent location.
The hotel feels secluded and private but is only a short (complimentary) shuttle or private water taxi trip away from the bustling streets and shopping of Positano. Highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting Positano.
- lucybR7042NW (10/5): Fabulous - We found Le Agavi hotel to be unique, the layout set in the hillside meant that every room and balcony is totally different and we loved this. The reception is lovely and bright and very welcoming. We had an executive room and it had a lovely large sitting area and seperate bedroom and bathroom. We had a gorgeous balcony with sun beds and table and chairs with an amazing view. We were located in the main part of the hotel with easy access to the pool and to the top of the hotel for bus transfer. The room was well cleaned everyday by friendly and polite staff. We found the hotel staff friendly and welcoming overall. The hotel offered a free hourly bus shuttle into Positano with a short walk thereafter. It worked well. They also offer a boat taxi for €25 each way. We didn’t use this. However we treated ourselves to the hotel’s sunset cruise with Joanni and this was delightful. The hotel’s beach was fantastic, it had very comfortable sunbeds and buzzer service for drinks or any requests. The delightful Ramesso restaurant was located at the beach and we had some gorgeous lunch and dinners. The breakfast was delightful sitting looking out at an amazing view with gorgeous breakfast food. Delicious pastries and cakes. We also used the pool which was lovely and warm and also had great service. All towels were provided at the pool and beach. The room also had towels for the sun loungers and robes, slippers, flips flips and beach bag (great touch). The hotel was beautifully quiet and peaceful being located out of the centre, we appreciated this.
We loved Positano for its beauty and charm. However it was much more on the pricey side of being in the Amalfi coast and we were advised that Sorrento is more reasonable and a good base to explore from. However this was a luxurious treat for us and we adored every minute. We would definitely go back to the Hotel and Positano. Happy days!
- STEPHAN (2/5): - Funicular broken, had to do 8 flights of stairs outside in the rain. Shower blocked and overflowing even after repairs. Ceiling was leaking because of the rain so the maintenance workers were making loud construction noise. Included breakfast is fake powder-like scrambled eggs, no omelettes, benedictines, etc. The view, the location, the private beach front are really nice. My wife and I stayed three nights in a "supposedly deluxe room with large terrace", the hotel quality, the rooms and service is 3-Star at best, nowhere close to a 5-star.

- H1536TQhollyr (10/5): Stunning views, great hospitality, & amazing dinner! - My husband and I visited for 3 nights on the last leg of our first trip to Italy. We were overwhelmed with the beauty of the property - everywhere appeared like an entrance to a secret garden. And the views - wow! We enjoyed the beach club, pool, breakfast, meals at both restaurants (do not skip La Serra for dinner!!) as well as the complimentary shuttle to town. The staff was accommodating and welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Richard (10/5): - It’s a beautiful property with a very high class feel. It is very picturesque and the staff is top notch and friendly. Highly recommend and would return in the future.
- charlottehV879UO (10/5): Wonderful experience! - We have a wonderful experience! The rooms had a lovely terrace overlooking beautiful Positano! The staff was wonderful as were the breakfasts!

- LorieB1990 (10/5): Exceptional Positano Experience - Le Agavi exceeded expectations- from the views from our terrace to the beach club - the property provided memorable experiences at every turn.
The concierge and front desk staff went above and beyond and the property amenities and support staff were exceptional. Cant wait to return.
- mkgierl25 (10/5): Best Honeymoon Spot - My husband and I traveled around Italy for our honeymoon, and this was our favorite spot!! From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. Everything was absolutely amazing!!
- Jordana (5/5): Was a good hotel and staff were friendly but it was expensive and difficult to get around - The property was very well kept and the staff were friendly. We really loved Remmesse restaurant We found the property very difficult to get around and we didn’t find it good value for money.
- Ralph (9/5): -
- Christian (8/5): -
- BrendanM2002 (10/5): Best location and views in Positano - This hotel offers some of the best views in Positano. The location is also ideal - just far enough outside the craziness of Positano town but within a 10 minute ride of anywhere you want to be. The hotel’s hourly shuttle makes this very easy.
There are not many hotels that offer the benefits/views of being high up on the cliff AND a beach club on the same property. The hotel is set on the side of a cliff so you need to take the private funicular to get from the lobby/breakfast area to the rooms, pool, and other areas. The elevator from the bottom of the funicular to the beach club is a bit scary so my wife and I chose to take the outdoor steps, which was a significant workout. But most guests and staff seem to have no problem with the elevator.
Highlights:
- views
- location
- beach club
- staff: incredibly accommodating and helpful
- shuttle to town and water taxi (shuttle if free while water taxi is 25 euros each way)
- we did not eat at either hotel restaurant but other guests raved about them
- daily hotel breakfast was good; baked goods and pastries were amazing
What could have been better:
- our room was a bit small
- daily stair and hill climb can be a lot for some, although this is really unavoidable in Positano
- U6165NBsofias (10/5): Exceptional hospitality, and stunning views - Our stay at Le Agavi hotel in Positano was absolutely wonderful! the staff provided impeccable service ! They went above and beyond and made us feel so welcome. Our room had a breathtaking view, and every moment was unforgettable. We truly enjoyed our time here and would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Positano.
- gordondB2298BN (10/5): We loved Le Agavi - We had a wonderful time at Le Agavi. The staff are courteous and outstanding and the hotel has great amenities. We loved that the hotel is close to Positano but a bit outside the fray and mayhem during the busy season. We also greatly enjoyed the beach club and pool area. We will plan to return.
- Alyazia (2/5): -
- Roam553694 (10/5): Exceeded our expectations! Look no further! - I don’t usually write reviews — it takes time, which I rarely have. But I’m making an exception for Le Agavi because they’ve earned it.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was outstanding. The location is perched above Positano, away from the crowded downtown. The setting is peaceful and private, giving you the beauty of the Amalfi Coast without the chaos. At the same time, it’s easy to reach town thanks to the hotel’s complimentary hourly shuttle service, which gives you the best of both worlds — seclusion when you want it, and quick access when you don’t.
The views are simply breathtaking. The hotel feels like it’s floating above the coast, with amazing views of the Mediterranean and Positano’s hillside. Morning coffee on the terrace became a ritual for me, and evenings at sunset were transformational at that tme of day.
The staff is truly exceptional. Ultra-friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive, they go out of their way to make you feel cared for. Whether it was something for the room, restaurant reservations, tour suggestions, or small details we didn’t even think to ask for, they handled it with warmth and efficiency.
The layout of the hotel deserves mention. Built into the cliffs, every terrace, pathway, and level maximizes the views, so you’re constantly connected to the sea and hillside. Getting around by funicular adds to the charm — it’s unusual at first, but easy to navigate once you get the rhythm, and it makes the property feel like part of the landscape itself.
The food was excellent all around, especially the breakfast buffet were there was a guitarist and mandolin player to complete the experience ( see pic)
A few minor criticisms: coffee at the breakfast buffet really shouldn’t come with an extra charge. Niether should an omelette if you want one. the water taxi to central Positano is €25 for a five-minute ride, which feels steep and should be included ( I would factor it nto the room rate). During peak hours, the van shuttle to town fills quickly — running it more frequently ( every 1/2 hour) would be an improvement on the service.
In summary, I can't reccomend Le Agavi enough. So much so we will make it an anuual family tradition!
Ciao! Enjoy!

Incredible service and the best location in all of Positano!
- Gerry_London12 (10/5): Positano Heaven - Simply amazing - when searching for a hotel to stay in Positano we chose Le Agavi based on their 5 star reviews and the hotel didn’t disappoint - best location just outside Positano with stunning views. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the centre of Positano. and also a water taxi service from its own private beach pier. The hotel has a wonderful beach area which can be reached by its own funicular - the hotel is steeped in history. The staff are amazing, so kind and helpful and all go the extra mile in making your stay that more enjoyable. Grateful thanks to Melania and Sonia on reception. The Remesse Beach restaurant is wonderful for lunch or dinner - breakfast on the terrace overlooking Positano also so special.
Go - you won’t regret it!

Our stay at Hotel Le Agavi was truly unforgettable!
Booking was very easy, and the check-in process was smooth. The staff were immediately helpful upon arrival, especially with our luggage, which made us feel welcome from the start.
The setting of the hotel is absolutely incredible. It was easily the best views we have ever had from a hotel. The balcony of our junior suite overlooked the sea and city in a way that felt like a dream. Rooms were spotless, perfectly sized, and very comfortable, creating the perfect retreat after long days exploring.
The dining experiences were outstanding. Breakfast was impeccable with plenty of variety and delicious options. We also had the chance to dine at Remmese, the hotel’s restaurant, which was of extremely high quality and a highlight of our trip.
Facilities exceeded expectations. The private beach access was wonderful, complete with floaties and noodles that made relaxing in the water easy and fun. The gym stood out as the best in Positano, open air with breathtaking views while training or doing cardio. Transportation was seamless with punctual shuttles and a water taxi that made it easy to reach the city center.
Staff professionalism and kindness were second to none. Nearly everyone spoke excellent English, and Sonia in particular went above and beyond to recommend restaurants and give tips on navigating the area!

- Twinstar_st (10/5): Exceptional services, breathtaking views! - We loved the hotel.Super friendly staff. Food at the beach restaurant was delicious, we ate there twice. For us, the location was great because away from the hustle bustle but the shuttle makes it very convenient.

- adaml268 (10/5): An amazing place to stay. Superb quality, excellent staff and a brilliant view - We had a six night stay at Le Agavi. The hotel staff, the quality of the room, the views from the room balcony and the overall experience were perfect. The pool is smallish but very well-maintained with accommodating staff. The beach club area is super and never crowded. You have to be prepared to walk up and down stairs a lot to move around the hotel as it is built into the side of a cliff, so if that bothers you, beware. However, they have a funiculeur and a lift which minimises some of steps you need to take, but there are still plenty. On the other hand, the views from the hotel over towards Positano are spectacular. Sunrise and during the evening are Instagram level of views. You need to take the shuttle bus into Positano and that runs hourly, which is fine. You just need to be organised around the timing. Amazingly friendly and professional staff made our time there perfect.
- pepperlovesthesnow (10/5): Positano Jewel - Absolutely loved the Le Agavi hotel. The grounds were beautiful and the service was impeccable. The rooms were very well appointed and quite spacious. staff was very accommodating. In fact, they brought a bag all the way to Sorrento that we had left behind. We will definitely return to the Le Agavi!
- Paul (10/5): Excellent - Everything, the room, amazing view, water taxi into Positano, beach bar, staff, I could go on. The beer in the beach bar was not cold enough.
- Joao (10/5): - That is a place that you have to visit! Something amazing that you never seen before! Wonderful views!
- AllanS779 (10/5): Top Class - An absolutely fantastic stay in one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. The staff were extremely professional and helpful and the Hotel had everything that you should expect for a 5 star hotel. The food was sensational and coupled with the most amazing views of Positano and the Amalfi Coast we will 100% be back
- yanbilleter (10/5): Worldclass Hotel with Worldclass Sevices - Worldclass Hotel with Worldclass Sevices. Location, Spa, Food, view and transportaion were all amazing. Can only recommend.
- ju728 (10/5): An Italian summer dream - My husband and I just came back from an 8 night stay at hotel Le Agavi. To put it simply, this trip was a dream. Everything about this hotel is perfection. For us, it checked all of the boxes. To name a few things: The location and the views are unmatched. A private beach club, pool area overlooking Positano, and a spa. Two restaurants on-site and breakfast (included) every morning. The staff was fantastic — friendly and always willing to help.
My husband and I recently returned from an eight-night stay at the exquisite Hotel Le Agavi. In a nutshell, this trip was an absolute dream come true. Every aspect of the hotel was meticulously crafted to perfection. I felt like I was in heaven.
The location and breathtaking views were simply unmatched. We enjoyed their private beach club on most days, but also spent time by the pool area overlooking the picturesque town of Positano. Also, I highly recommend visiting the spa. We had a 55 minute couples massage, which was lovely!
The 2 on-site restaurants were wonderful, and the complimentary breakfast every morning set the perfect tone for our days. The staff was incredibly friendly and always eager to assist us, making our stay truly memorable.
This trip exceeded all my expectations and left me with unforgettable memories. If we ever return to Positano, there’s no doubt that Le Agavi would be our first choice for accommodation.
- AmyQ161 (10/5): A great experience!!! - Our stay at LeAgavi was fabulous. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sonia who was very gracious and helped us with many accommodations and reservations at local restaurants. She also helped with travel arrangements and setting up our excursions.
The entire hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and meet all of our expectations. The room was spacious, well appointed and very clean with a wonderful balcony overlooking the Amalfi coast. We enjoyed all of the restaurants and the variety of places to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet had everything you can imagine from fresh fruit to delicious pastries and eggs.
The pool area is wonderful. We read in previous reviews that it was a small pool, but would absolutely disagree. It was spacious and refreshing. Our time in the pool was extra special thanks to Giuseppe who made wonderful afternoon beverages. A unique feature of this hotel is the access to swim in the in the mediterranean Sea. we had fun floating and even took advantage of the water taxi to and from Positano.
The hotel has a unique layout with many levels which we enjoyed. Walking up and down the stairs was a great way to exercise. We will definitely return.
- S8546YIsalema (10/5): Very good - We feel like in our home and very good service and the people is friendly and the view of hotel is amazing and quiet that is all
- H3078BSkaterinag (10/5): Beautiful hotel, views and staff - The staff was very helpful and friendly! They went way out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. On the day we arrived the Funicular/Tram was broken which was a bit of an inconvenience but the staff made sure to acknowledge and make up for this!
The hotel is situated in the best part of Positano! It is on the edge of the cliff where you have a view of the entire town! The hotel can be accessed by water taxi easily which is amazing! And the beach club is one of the best features of the hotel. It is in the cliff which access to the ocean directly.
I could go on and on! The beautiful breakfast Buffett accompanied by the guitarists and the amazing views is something I will never forget! I think Le Agavi Hotel was just beautiful with a beautiful staff.
- P9722HIericn (10/5): Great trip to Le Agavi - Beautiful resort with epic views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a peaceful place in Positano that is still very close to town and the fun there this is a great spot. The funicular is a must as the stairs are pretty steep.
- Fernando (10/5): - The hotel had a great views. It was quit away from all the busy streets. Great pool and beach area. The staff was very helpful. Great breakfast. If you like to relax this is the place for you.
- Caroline (10/5): Fantastic hotel in glorious location - After four days on the road, it was wonderful to return to this hotel after nine years and still find Sonia on reception(!), ably accompanied by Melania, who were both very welcoming and kind. We spent a fabulous six days at Le Agavi, soaking in the fantastic views and enjoying the superb facilities on offer. Nothing was too much bother for the staff, who were all extremely courteous and polite. Breakfast on the terrace each morning, listening to two accomplished musicians, was excellent, and the seven course dinner, with matching wines, was a wonderful Birthday treat! As far as we are concerned, there is no better place to stay on the Amalfi - we shall definitely be returning! Nothing - it was all superb!
- jafcmh (10/5): A gem of a resort! - Staff: Excellent at front desk, breakfast, pool, beach club and shuttle drivers. Views are stunning. Away from town so don’t feel any crowd. There are many stairs to climb at this hotel. But that makes it unique, built in the side of a mountain. They grow their own vegetables in a small garden. Delicious!
- Alexander (10/5): - WOW…we didn’t know what to expect and we found heaven @ Hotel Le Agavi. From the front desk staff, room service, housekeeping and the Sommelier!! 15 out of 10 stars. If you want to pay a little more to have your own beach club,
Pool, restaurants, spa, gym this is your spot. If you want luxury service with the best view of the coast, Le Agavi. Free shuttle into town to go out every night or you can take the boat taxi. We absolutely loved it and we will be back next year.
- Jorge (7/5): Good -
- rossgeorge99 (10/5): An luxurious resort and an archaeological marvel! - We travelled here as a 3, myself, wife and my seven year old daughter. My wife had a knee injury at the time and we were concerned about the amount of steps / walking we'd have to do. Having said that, the staff were so accommodating, making it as easy as possible to navigate the property. Lots of lifts for accessibility. Sonia in particular was lovely and very friendly. I was blown away by the magnitude of the property, as it scales from roadside all the way down to the beach, with rooms built at each level and a funicular lift going all the way down to beach level. It is a private beach area with a beautiful restaurant which we ate at one night. Incredible food and views. We also did a private boat trip with the hotel to Capri and our Captain Joe was so skilled and kind to my family. I would stay here again for sure!
- sarahcate2729 (10/5): Spectacular view and service! - I was in the area for the evening after dinner and saw the beautiful terrace and decided to walk into Hotel Le Agavi for an aperitif. Giuseppe greeted me and made an excellent cocktail for me. He was so kind and let me know about the hotel and services. The view was spectacular as well! I plan to book Hotel Le Agavi on my next trip to Positano! What a beautiful property and top notch service with a smile from Giuseppe!
- N1856CJsarahk (10/5): Excellent Stay - This hotel is beautiful. So unique and well maintained. The food is excellent and the team that works at the hotel is so kind and fun.
We came for our honeymoon and would definitely recommend to friends and family.
- LouiseNeser (10/5): - We had an unforgettable stay at Hotel Le Agavi. All our expectations were exceeded. We loved being slightly outside the buzz of Positano. The ease of the transfers and water taxi from the hotel made it so easy to go to Positano whenever we felt like it. The private beach area was our favourite. It was a real adventure to swim in the sea with pool noodles and then be able to lie on the deck on a lounger. The service was excellent at all times. We look forward to coming back next summer. Thank you for all the kindness and making us feel right at home ❤️
- Sezin (10/5): Exceptional - Best View of Positano, very good beach and lovely Sonia from the resepsiyon Who is very helpful and kind. Too many stairs even with the funicular and you can not go swimming very early in the morning , earliest possible is 8.30
- Flavio862 (10/5): Fantastic experience - We had a memorable stay at Le Agavi hotel. The management and the staff were exceptional and did everything they could to make sure we had the best time at the resort. Our suite was large, well-appointed and had a terrace with chairs, table, sun loungers and umbrella and a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean. It was also very quiet. The hotel has a private beach and beach club, which are reached by a scenic air-conditioned funicular. The daily breakfast included in the price of the room was delicious and included buffet and a la carte options. While everyone who worked at the hotel was great, a few management and staff members stood out as truly fantastic in their ability to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Melania Cuomo and Sonia Bottino at the front desk, hotel manager Antonio Liguori, shuttle driver Antonino Gargiulo, restaurant waiter Andrea Marrone and housekeeping/porter Fazlul went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. We are very grateful to them for making our vacation even more special.
- Adriana (10/5): - Stunning place, very friendly staff. Rafael the driver, Melania at the front desk and Giuseppe in the pool, some of our favorites!
Wonderful place.
- Voyager56792 (10/5): Fantastic stay in Positano - Le Agave is the best of both worlds. Close enough to the craziness of Positano (10-min complimentary shuttle ride by hotel staff) and far enough away to make this feel like your only little oasis resort.)
The level of service by every single member of the Le Agave team can be felt anywhere you step within the resort. 5-stars all the way around. We will be back!
- Fateamah (9/5): It was wonderful however if ur looking to spend more time swimming I’d not recommend it - The hotel upgraded our booking upon check in which was an amazing gesture, the view from out room is amazing and breathtaking, the hotel pool also has amazing view of the beach. How it’s far away from the beach, they do provide access via elevator and cable elevator to go down the mountain to the beach but it’s still very far
- scott (10/5): - Such a pretty hotel. Great quiet beach at the property staff sp helpful , outrageous view. Worth the extra money.
Skull like to come back.
- stephenoC3022AC (10/5): This is a great place with a first class team and amazing views - The staff are exceptional - I travel all over the world and they are attentive congenial and not over commercial - restaurant recommendations we’re all different from the 4 staff we asked. Shuttle to town timely and obliging on drop offs. Sea swim is so easy and beach terrace service as you would want with buzzers not lots of interruptions . The pool was far bigger than for 5 and we enjoyed a swim and cocktail . Music at both the pool and beach was contemporary but muted . The beach bar was run by Ciro who could not have been more accommodating at lunch and dinner - dealt with my allergy, checked we were ok enough but not overbearing - team- worked and certainly not slow at all . Breakfast is wonderful and the view breathtaking .
- haytell (10/5): Perfect Positano hotel - Our absolute favorite hotel in Positano. We stayed here for our honeymoon and had the greatest experience. We were upgraded upon checkin and put into the most gorgeous room with incredible views and a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The pool area is beautiful and has great service. The breakfast in the mornings is equipped with tons of sweet/savory options, fresh juices, live string music, full coffee service, and sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. While the hotel is located just outside the hustle bustle of downtown Positano, the hotel shuttle and private water taxi make it incredibly easy to access any and all locations - we didn’t once wish we had stayed downtown because of how accessible the hotel makes it.
We will stay here every time we return to Positano and will always recommend it!
- A3601JUconnorc (4/5): Very disappointing - To be blunt here, The service and ultimate value we received from the hotel did not live up to the very expensive cost. My wife and I stopped here for three nights on our honeymoon, and frankly were very disappointed. to start, wow, the reception we received when we first arrived was very friendly and great, the receptionist stated the hotel had a very special gift for us due to celebrating our honeymoon with them. My wife and I were not expecting anything nor needed really anything but a comment like that makes you feel very welcome and valued however, as the day went on, we noticed there was no gift from the hotel in our room just was a very weird comment to make and have no follow through. Secondly, the staff other than the reception really did not live up to a five star hotel. At the beach club, many times we felt like ghosts To the staff with no one really coming up to you or asking if you needed anything, wanted to drink, etc. When either my wife or I did get up to ask someone for assistance or order, it almost felt as if the attitude given by the staff was as if we were inconveniencing them. Not exactly a great feeling especially when you’re staying multiple nights. The upstairs bar was not much better, wow the staff up there was definitely friendlier. The service was very slow often times having to ask for a check multiple times at one point we even missed a shuttle trying to just get our check as the staff was nowhere to be found.
About theshuttle: the shuttle is a great service, but it often times was very overpacked with people trying to get into Positano. Twice we were stuffed in like sardines just to get into town. Really the only highlight I could say about the hotel is the view, however there are many great views for a fraction of the cost. Just was a very disappointing stay
- Bucky_Badger25 (6/5): Below par for a five star hotel. - Hotel is dated, views are amazing, staff is great. Air condition doesn’t cool the rooms. The fact that we were turned away from the other non Michelin restaurant when we first arrived and tired (they have nowhere else to eat on premises, except room service) and the hotel is not close to random restaurants (ie 30 min walk) was a complete turn off and unacceptable.
- Rodney (9/5): Superb -
- WMFive (4/5): Don's stop there keep going - I always feel bad giving a negative review when the staff working there were so friendly but it is also the whole point of writing reviews .
For starters i do not recommend this hotel at all . It is an old property that may have seen much better days some time back in history but in its current condition i would only give it a maximum of 3 stars . There's absolutely no luxury whatsoever . It sure didn't help its case that it was our final stop after staying at two wonderful properties in Rome and Capri .
Starting with the room , in my lifetime i have not seen a hotel room of any standard that doesn't have its own thermostat . The room was both boiling and super humid at night , the only indication the AC was working was due to the jet engine sound it was making . To give some perspective on how humid it was , we packed our bags the following morning , took a taxi to naples station then a train to Rome then a short car ride to the hotel when we opened the suitcases our clothes were still damp !! unacceptable . Even the bedsheets in both rooms we had were damp . Towels are paper thin , blackout...what's that ? photo at 7 morning attached
At 9 a.m. they started construction in the room above us then they sprayed dirty water over our terrace and at one point there was a electrician working on our terrace without any notice from the hotel !? Classic was the complementary 25cl bottle of water . for over $1000/night they can make it a litre bottle i don't think it'll break their back .
We had half a day so we spent it on the deck by the sea . Nothing to complain about except it took them a whole hour to prepare our lunch which was slightly above averge , it is obvious they're operating on skeletal staff . Not easy to get into the sea from the deck , the rocks are too shallow so one must use the ladder to go in slowly .
The hotel is perched on a steep cliff so they have this very convenient funicular but it tends to be quite busy so it takes a while to get your turn .
I can add few more points but i guess readers got the gist .
- VVEtravels (10/5): Beautiful and spectacular oasis - don't overlook this one!! - HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you plan a trip to Positano and the Amalfi Coast. It is 100% worth it to be set away from the heart of Positano, you will be thankful to have an exclusive, gorgeously appointed oasis to flee from the crowds. Very simple to get from the hotel to the heart of the town, either by Shuttle which runs hourly, or by water taxi which runs on-demand. The hotel is spectacularly situated with an incredible view over the town, giving you the opportunity to enjoy it during the day from the lovely breakfast restaurant or at night when converts to a haute gastronomy Michelin restaurant. Beautiful views from the balcony in our room as well. The Funicular is an entertaining experience, to get you to and from the main level of the hotel or down to the beach, or you can travel on foot up and down the stairs which is a workout but very pretty, as the flights of stairs are short though numerous) and varied, and studded with floral gardens, lemon groves, and shady arbours. It really is a beautiful hotel. The brunch buffet was wonderful, significant variety, fresh juices and fruits and pastries, and the usual fare of hot items which were of very high quality. Same can be said for both restaurants. La Serra offers a fine dining experience with beautiful, elegantly plated menu items. Remesse at the beach was incredible, we ate there twice because we enjoyed our first dinner so much - if you like oysters, this is the place to go. Amazing fresh grilled fish, beautiful desserts, and killer gin martinis. The rooms are not ornate, and perhaps showing a little bit of wear in some respects, but the air conditioner worked like a dream and the bed was comfortable a big, bathrooms were well appointed, zero complaints really. We opted to go into Positano town one day, via shuttle, and then took a boat tour along the Amalfi coast another day, leaving from the private dock of the Le Agavi. The staff of the hotel, front desk, all restaurants, beach club, are extremely friendly and accommodating. A really wonderful experience.
- Brittany (10/5): Exceptional - The private beach club is amazing. And the rooftop pool! Stunning brews, service, amazing food and location, private and luxury. Everything
- tayloredyer (10/5): The absolute best stay of our trip to Italy - My husband and I do not typically stay in 5-star hotels; Le Agavi was truly worth every cent while we were visiting Positano. The views alone made our stay memorable, but the service we received really made every moment of our stay enjoyable. Some highlights include-
Shuttle- we used it just once when arriving to the hotel, but it was on time, easy to find, and so convenient! When departing, Vicenzo at the front desk helped us to arrange a water taxi to catch the ferry, which was so quick and easy.
Rooms- absolutely breathtaking views right outside our room. We probably didn't explore Positano as much as we would have liked because we were so content spending time on the terrace overlooking the water.
Beach- a bit confusing to find at first, but so fun and unique to take the funicular down to the water to our own private beach and swimming area! It was gorgeous and peaceful, with wonderful service from the staff at La Remmese for drinks or lunch. This was my first time staying in Positano so I'm not sure what other hotels offer, but it really did feel like you got the best of both worlds- stunning views from up above and access to the beautiful water down below.
Breakfast- breakfast is included and the spread is phenomenal with anything you could want with outstanding service. We didn't get to La Serra for dinner, but with breakfast being served in the same area, I can only imagine what the dinner views are like.
Service- the highlight of our stay! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, helpful, and seemed to really take pride in what they were providing. We were there for our honeymoon, and the bottle of Prosecco that was waiting for us when we arrived to our room set the tone for the service we would receive for the rest of our stay.
HIGHLY recommend for a wonderful stay in Positano...we WILL be back!
