- Guy (9/5): Clean room, friendly staff, great location - The room was spacious and clean, even though it was only a single. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for my stay. My room was on the ground floor with a view out onto the courtyard. There were only roller blinds for privacy, which meant the room was either dark when blinds were down in daytime or people could see into the room if the blinds were up. A very minor point though!

- Mirjam (8/5): Comfortable place from which to explore Bishop Auckland - This hotel is about a mile out of town, on a fairly busy road, but we didn't hear any noise from it. We had a ground floor room in the court yard, it was clean and comfortable. Nice evening meal, good breakfast. It's a good base from which to explore the town. Maybe have some information on local tourist spots in the room? The hotel is part of project Bishop Auckland, it would have been nice to read more on that.

Dinner menu in room and on website sounded looked varied and interesting. In practice, our dinner in the evening was extremely disappointing. The menu had been changed to 4 limited choices- all very basic. The two we had were tasteless and poorly cooked.

The property is fine and pretty close to all shops and city. There wasn’t much to dislike about the property. Transport is needed to visit all tourist sites or shops but the cleanliness, comfort and the price for the room overrules this.

- Louise (6/5): Pleasant friendly hotel - Nice hotel in a great location, convenient for a visit to Durham. Regular bus into the city centre Bed wasn’t comfortable, neighbouring room guests were loud. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow. Overall fair though, may give it another try

- davis (7/5): Comfy, clean,and quiet, we cannot recommend the food or very expensive bar drinks - Rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and efficient and helpful. £3.75 for a small lemonade and £4. 95 for a bottle of lager. The breakfast was mostly luke warm to cold, sausages not good and toaster needs replacing, eggs benediction sent back. So not good food or bar drink.

- Ellie (10/5): Excellent Park Head Hotel - Spacious, clean and warm. In our king room, the sink plug lever jammed leaving water in the sink. The helpful lady on reception offered to move us next door immediately and without fuss. Great service. Good it has a tie in to the Bishop Auckland regeneration project. It is an excellent initiative. There could be a little more light. The room was large so needed a stronger central light and downward- facing reading lights.

- Michael (10/5): Excellent place - It was nice and clean everywhere. I got the single room. It was probably smaller than the other rooms. but it was good for me working. comfy and I slept all night and felt good sitting in the bar relaxing. All the staff was really nice and friendly. The food took 50 minutes. and I was really hungry. But when the food came. it looked beautiful well presented and tasted amazing. Was a little pricey for the amount you got. But you're paying for quality I guess. I went to order around 8:15pm. but more than half the things they didn't have on the menu. They had sold out. because they had a lot of people in before me. I know this can't be helped. But I'm really glad I picked the duck it was amazing..

Clean rooms, comfy bed and excellent breakfast (Gluten free options were provided and were tasty , also there is a separate toaster for gluten free bread this is often overlooked so thank you ) Rooms are exactly like the photos and exceeded our expectations. The staff really went above and beyond and were very welcoming. Thank you so much , we look forward to staying with you again :) There was nothing we didn't like.
