We are now in the process of upgrading two of our guest rooms to accommodate our Club at Iron Horse Members. We are doing our very best to be mindful of our in-house guests comfort and quiet. To accommodate that concern, our in room construction will only be done Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with no construction being done from Friday at 3:00 PM through Sunday evening into Monday morning at 9:00 AM.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. - sarah (10/5): cute historical stay within walking distance to almost anything in town ! - literally LOVED this little historical inn. We only stayed for one night but the staff (woman up front) was SO nice and accommodating to us and made us feel welcomed. The hotel was featured on our ghost tour and it was so cool to learn about the local history of it !

- JOY (10/5): - The Historic Iron Horse Inn is a charming, clean, and comfortable place to stay right in the heart of Deadwood. The building has tons of old-West character, and the location can’t be beat — just steps from Main Street. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the on-site pizza shop and pub are convenient bonuses. Rooms are cozy and unique. Overall, it’s a great choice if you want a fun, historic, downtown Deadwood experience. I loved everything!

The owner and staff were friendly, considerate, and very helpful with our stay at the hotel as well as sightseeing in the outlying areas. I would recommend staying here if you like old historic buildings - it's not a fancy new hotel, but that just added to the Deadwood vibe. It's not their fault, but because of their location they have very limited parking. If you need to use an elevator this place is not for you.

I know they go for a nostalgic look, but we only had 2 drawers to store things and we were there for two weeks. The room was large, but the carpeting had many stains on it, very gross. The A/C was controlled, we couldn’t adjust it below 69 degrees. Kind of tacky? I wouldn’t stay there again…😫

The hospitality of everyone that works there is exceptional. Our room was very clean, spacious and unique. The owner is one of the most pleasant people we met on our trip. The onsite parking is very convenient and the location is perfect. I would highly recommended staying at this hotel to anyone staying in Deadwood or the surrounding area.

Fantastic staff!! Close to Main Street with all the activities and old west feel!! I wasn’t aware that the onsite pizza place is only available on weekends, as is the bar down stairs. Our stay was mid week so we lost out on enjoying those. The upstairs hall way is kind of dark, yet that’s the way the biking was built over 130 years ago.

Old fashioned and quiet. The people there are always gracious! The rooms are always clean! Beds comfy! No complaints at all. The location is perfect a block off main street and the free parking! How nice to have that and basically park next to the entrance and right inside the door lobby and elevator! It is just perfect to us! Seriously...not one complaint! A great stay

They said they would refund my pre paid charge. They did reverse the charge but then the next day they recharged my card. They refuse to correct an error that was not of my doing.

I couldn’t find the ice machine so we used the soda fountain to fill cooler. You do have an authentic room which means no microwave or refrigerator in rooms however that was what room were like in the old west.

The host and his Staff were exceptional from start to finish and made us feel very welcome, which as Canadians was a blessing with current USA relations. The location was great, a short walk to everything. It's a great entertaining, historical spot and we were treated well by all. God bless America! The Elevator was broken down and they were waiting for service. It didn't bother me as I am very fit, but my rather chubby, bad knee friend had a few issues with all the stairs. That would be his only complaint.

The place itself is like stepping back in time once you enter your room. The vaulted ceilings were very neat, and it had that vintage charm. The location was perfect. Only a block from the main drag, and only a few minutes walk from the rodeo. So many great restaurants nearby, and even pizza on the main floor and basement of the Iron Horse! Overall, I couldn't recommend my stay enough. I would love to be back!

The room was clean enough but the carpets looked a bit stained and in need of replacing. That’s it! I’d upgrade this place to a 3 star just based on the history and charm. The staff were very very accommodating!

- Rach (10/5): - This is a great place to stay. Check in and parking easy. Bed is super comfy and the building is historic and kept immaculate Would definitely stay here again
- Steven (10/5): Would book again. - Excellent place to stay, would highly recommend. I really liked the room, the fact it had air con and the lovely cosy bedding. The location was perfect and the parking a real bonus. The staff were also excellent and there was a pool table plus other games downstairs and also free fizzy drinks (soda) The only negative would be the lift (elevator) wasn’t working. The owners had arranged for someone to fix it and they hadn’t turned up, so it wasn’t their fault, but if you have an issue with stairs I would contact them before booking. I was however offered help with my bags but it wasn’t an issue for me.

- Trip37386579166 (10/5): Great place to stay while visiting Deadwood, the Needles and Custer State Park. - Great place to stay while visiting Deadwood, the Needles, Custer State Park, and Mickelson Trail. The Iron Horse employees were so friendly and accommodating. Chris was a wonderful host and had such interesting stories to share. The private parking was so convenient. We really enjoyed our stay. Best place to stay in Deadwood!
