• Georgia (4/5): - It was on the doorstep to cairns central Bin needed a lid as flies were always around in the kitchen. People still cooking past 10pm so could always smell food if you were staying on the ground floor. The owner decided to come clean a bed after check out around 8am.. didn’t even knock to see if anyone was in the room & being a solo women traveller I could have been getting changed. Thought it was rude. Checked out early as didn’t like the vibes & felt uncomfortable. The shower didn’t have great pressure & had to get the temperature right with the nozzles, the floor in the bathroom was slippy when coming out the shower so bath mats could have been provided.

• Margaret (8/5): Great value stay in an historic original Cairns guesthouse. - I loved the building, original weatherboard guesthouse. The place was super clean and well maintained. The vibe was chilled. Kitchen facilities great for self catering. The room was a little small.

Would recommend to anyone wanting good location, comfy bed, and value for money. The host was great as well when we requested to extend our stay, thanks Peter!

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié - J’ai tout d’abord apprécié la qualité des services de l’hôte, de l’accueil jusqu’à la propreté. Il est très serviable. Ensuite, l’emplacement. L’hôtel se situe à quelques mètres du centre-ville et des principales activités. Il y a un joli extérieur entretenu avec une piscine, un service de blanchisserie et une cuisine adaptée. Le fait qu’il n’y est pas de sanitaires dans les chambres.

• Elisabeth (9/5): Nice quiet stay - Very pleasant, comfortable stay for a few days before setting off driving a camper van down the coast. Plenty of parking spaces available out front, short walking distance from pubs/restaurants in town and a large supermarket nearby. The hostel was nice and quiet during our stay. Very clean bathrooms and communal kitchen.

• Olivia (10/5): Kleines Paradis - Wir haben zwei Mal jeweils eine Nacht hier verbracht (vor und nach einem Tauchtrip). Wir hatten alles was wir gebraucht haben und das Zimmer und das Gemeinschaftsbad waren sehr sauber. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Netter Besitzer. Es gab einen Laundry-Bereich, den ich hier nicht in der Beschreibung gesehen hatte und man konnte Münzen beim Besitzer erhalten (sogar gegen Kartenzahlung). Außerdem gibt es eine Gemeinschaftsküche mit Kaffee und Tee für alle, die wir aber ansonsten nicht zum Kochen genutzt haben. Direkt gegenüber auf der anderen Straßenseite kommt man über das Parkhaus in die große Mall mit mehreren Supermärkten und Imbissen. Nichts.

• Maria-Luise (8/5): Sehr schöne, ruhige und saubere Unterkunft - In den Gemeinschaftsräumen und Aufenthaltsbereichen ist es sehr sauber, Peter (der Besitzer) achtet darauf sehr. Der Pool ist echt schön - da kommt richtiges Urlaubsfeeling auf. Im Zimmer selbst waren recht viele winzige Ameisen - da konnten leider auch die kleinen Geckos, die mitunter dort waren, nicht viel ausrichten. ;)

Great location, be sure to listen to instructions at check in to find your way around easy. We stayed on three separate occasions due to travel changes from the cyclone. C'est joli, bien agencé, la cuisine est très fonctionnelle, avec plein de places pour s'installer et un coin ''salon'' avec canapé, la piscine est très belle, un vrai oasis de verdure et très propre, ma chambre était juste géniale et au calme (à part quelques voisins.... Mais ça ce n'est malheureusement pas gérable.... 😁) la salle de bain et toilette nickel, bref je recommande vivement ce logement à 15 mn à pieds du centre ville et proche de tous commerces. Ce serait bien qu'il y ait quelques cintres ou une étagère.

Peter was incredibly friendly and helpful and really made the whole experience even better. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was fantastic and honestly felt more like a hotel room than a typical hostel room. I would absolutely stay here again, the best place to stay in Cairns!

Peter was a great host and couldn’t have done more for us. Room was clean and comfortable with fan and AC. Bathrooms were pristine clean and lots of hot water. Communal kitchen space had everything we needed and lots of seating space. The pool was beautiful among the trees. Short walk to shopping Center and town Center Spotted a few ants in kitchen on our last day

• Iwona (4/5): Altought its a budget tight type of accomodation: not worth it as you cant properly rest - Convenient location. Just next to railway station, and shopping mall. Quite close to anything in town Kitchen was big and had all necessary equipment for cooking and it was relatively clean Lots of rooms without even tiny window. The room was dark and very small. In the room there is not even one single closet or anything you can put on things on so you need to keep your stuff in the suitcase The worst part was that not only were the rooms very small, and there is shared toilet and showers with 10 other rooms…. You couldnt sleep. Why? Because the doors are not fit well and you literally heard every step and words outside. People coming and going at different times: you cant sleep unless you are a heavy slipper. On the picture you see how my door was fitting in I would consider a big minus for check in. You get no instructions as you usually get. After arrival you need to call a guy and on the phone he instructs you. It is a problem for people just arriving to the country with no phone functioning yet (eg no esim card purchased) or no fluency in english to follow conversation. It would be so much easier to send all access codes and password on email. No clue why such a inconvience

• Gerard (10/5): Very relaxing after a stressful couple of hours getting to Cairns thanks to peter - I had to fly to Brisbane the next morning and didn't know until 5pm so I booked online and peter was great he gave me the door code and other code for room where my key was in a envelope with my name written on it and he gave me a upgraded room with a double bed so excellent service .and I couldn't believe how clean it was because polished floors are hard to keep clean and the bathroom and showers were especially clean Nothing i could see
• Kei (10/5): I had an amazing stay at cairns, met beautiful people from all across the globe - would come again! - The owner Peter was very kind and accomodating for his guests. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Despite the common rooms (bathrooms and kitchen areas) being shared, I didn't find that it was too busy. If you have your own room, you have a small bar fridge which is convenient to have quick access to food. Also, I met so many cool individuals from various countries - Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand - to name a few! I even locked myself out accidentally one night after hours, and he kindly directed me to obtain the spare keys to my room so I was able to come back into my room :) Sometimes when you opened the communal fridge, there was a bit of a funky smell. But it can't be helped because it is a hostel after all!

• Wang (2/5): 标准青旅，入住之前对环境，设施与人群一定要有预期。 - 无早餐 入住前booking推荐跟首页图片看起来还可以所以预定了，入住后才发现是一个标准的青旅。从入住的人群，周围环境与房间设施真的是一言难尽。 后来实在感觉安全成问题，所以房费也没有要了，重新订了旁边的香格里拉。
