libyavisa (6/5): The most mid hotel EVER - the internet was weak. And I thought the beds were ok. And not much choice in terms of breakfast. It was a great value because it was in the middle of rural Oklahoma. If you love roller coasters it is a great place to stay in between SF Over Texas and silver dollar city.
58elizabethjv (2/5): Dirty, Dingy, and Rundown - The office staff is friendly and helpful. That is the only positive I can state. The rooms are dirty, dingy, and in bad repair. WiFi was so weak that we moved rooms to obtain a stronger signal. Do not stay here. In fact, do not stay in McAlester.
Richard (4/5): - The carpet was filthy with several stains in it. The room was old and hadn’t been posted in a long time. The motel/inn was probably built in the 50s or 60s. This is a motel not a hotel. The town is not easy to get around if you want food. Won’t be staying there again

kristamI1073QF (2/5): If you're not a trucker, pick another hotel. - We checked in...and then checked out fast. I suppose this was rated #2 in McAlester by truckers. So, if not a trucker, may want to keep scrolling for other options. We ended up moving to Comfort Inn which was so extremely nice - like a palace compared to this place. The 1st room would not open with key. Had to go to office and have her make new keys and come out to help. Still no door open. Then she had to go back and try to move us to another room. And it was like 90 degrees in there, hotter inside than outside in July, and the AC unit was not working. And there were two ash trays and you could smell the cigarette smoke from previous stays. Hadn't experienced anything like this since probably the early 80's. All of this after being on the road for 10-ish hours at midnight. It's also more like a Motel with the doors opening to the parking lot / road. With parking for big truckers rigs. So, may be ideal for truckers who like to smoke and keep an eye on their rigs in the parking lot. But, if not a trucker, go to the Comfort Inn.

Doug (2/5): - I stayed at this Best Western last night, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The photos online are completely misleading and do not represent the actual condition of this place. As soon as I arrived, I noticed what looked like dried blood stains running down the outside stairs leading to the upper rooms—absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one rated 8.2 online. Inside, the place reeked of old mildew, It felt more like a rundown motel than anything remotely close to a “Best” Western. This is not the kind of place you want to bring your family, or even crash for a night after a long trip. Whoever is giving this place high ratings clearly hasn’t stayed there recently, or been to an actual nice best western,or the reviews are seriously manipulated.

Darren (8/5): Baseball Traveler - In town for a baseball regional. Two ACs in a room is almost Nirvana for us baseball parents! We had the King suite. Bathroom was small but served its purpose. Room was roomy. Pack those charging blocks as it is a bit behind in technology. Only real complaint wad we had booked for 3 adults. A sofa bed was available for my son, but didn't have bedding in the room. Contacted the front desk and all bedding was checked out. Our team was staying here, so it probably was true. But in case, pack some extra blankets if you depending on the sofa bed. Definitely would stay again!

RetiredEngTeacher (10/5): A Good Night's Stay - The room was clean. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, 2 juices, coffee. The outdoor pool is sizable with a deep end of 8 feet. There is ample parking. Price was good. An excellent cajun seafood restaurant is across the street.

Verified traveler (4/5): Could be worse - While there is no room service, it was so kind of the previous guest to leave a loaf of bread, most of a bag of chips, and some baggies for us in the dresser. The beds appeared to be very kid friendly as they felt as though they has been thoroughly jumped on. When you awake from your slumber, they serve a real American breakfast. One just like the Army serves, powdered eggs and all!

673myrnaf (8/5): Older motel for someone wanting an economical option. - For an older motel room was okay. There were some carpet stains by the door but otherwise room was clean. Could use some remodeling. A power strip was added to the side of the desk which helped with recharging phones. Breakfast did not have as many options as other places we have stayed recently. We prefer inside doors with hallways but these doors faced outside which could have contributed to the carpet stains. Pool was outside and closed for the season so we were unable to use.

Can’t seem to get to talk a human being about what happened just a chat We paid cash at the desk because Expedia didn’t get the reservation to best western so we could check but still pulled a payment outta my bank account and they wouldn’t let us check in either so at 11:30 at night I had to pay again.

I3243AQstevel (8/5): Great place to stay, but needs this upgrade: - There was not an unused electrical outlet near the desk, making it difficult to charge my laptop while using it (without unplugging the lamp or TV). There are no USB ports anywhere in the room. This situation could be easily solved by replacing the desk lamp with one that has at least one 115V outlet and one or two USB ports. It's an easy solution--why not implement it? I've stayed here many times and will again, but-- IT'S TIME TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE UPGRADE.

Mare1599 (10/5): Wonderful after a 14 hour day of travel! - I loved about everything at this Best Western! The staff was great! Friendly, Cheery and Helpful. Loved the breakfast... I love bagels and seldom can I even find bagels at a hotel breakfast. Absolutely loved the TWO luggage racks - so nice not to have to use the bed, desk or chair for the second suitcase! Room was clean and neat. Breakfast area and lobby was very clean as well! Thank you McAlester staff... I had a very restful and comfortable stay!
relov (4/5): Fair - First impression on the outside was its ok. Not to bad, definitely painted recently. I couldn’t check in early but was able to check in at 2:30pm. First thing I noticed when I walked in the room was the smell. It all came from the bathroom. Wasn’t really a bad smell but it smelled really old and outdated like they covered the smell with chemicals. Not sure if someone previously smoked in here or what but it was not to my liking. This was a suite by the way. I figured this should be the nicest room of all. Stains in the carpet but the room looked fairly clean so I didn’t mind. The issue I had was when I ordered some pizza as soon as I opened the box 4 flies landed directly on my pizza. That kinda annoyed me. Then it was 100 degrees outside and that A/C unit was barely cooling the room. Room didn’t cool down until sunset. Ive traveled all over the country and stayed at numerous hotels this probably was one of my least favorite. it is a small town and options are limited around here. Best thing here is the truck parking in front of the hotel, other than that I wouldn’t pay $100 a night for this. I would rather sleep in my car next time
Steven (4/5): - Reserved a room on Expedia two weeks in advance, arrived at the hotel and was told the room was not available, all the staff could tell me was it was not there fault. Rented the room that was available, ac was so old and loud it kept up up all night. The bathroom door had a hole that it looked like someone punched a hole in it. The pool was out of order, the grounds and stairways looked dirty and unkept. Needless to say, we will not be staying there again

Joseph (8/5): Dirty Pool - Pool had to be shut down because it was very gross, algae growing on the bottom, noticed after getting in, caused skin rash. Called to report and the solution was to put a lock in the gate. Otherwise the stay was good, breakfast was nice.

Cham (2/5): - The worst experience my family ever have from all the years we travel around the world and the USA. First of all we were put in the filthiest smoking room which we didn’t reserved. When requested for room change, we were denied. The room smelled so bad I had to run to Walmart for a couple cans of Lysols to empty out in the room just to tolerate the smell. We couldn’t get any sleep at all. I really feel I should get my money back.

Even though they mention hot breakfast, the scrambled eggs were not thawed properly (it is previously frozen), no fruit options, diluted coffee. Room was ok, not. too clean. Cleanliness is my biggest expectation and I was satisfied with Best Western of McAlester. Great breakfast options and a larger than normal eating area so there's plenty of room.

Aracelis (6/5): 6 night stay. - We were put in a room that had a shower head leak and ended up making a big puddle on the floor. They kindly offered another room right next to the first one. The second room had a problem with the bathroom light fixture. When you switched the light switch, the bathroom ceiling light would blink on and off like Christmas lights. You had to keep trying it and it was hit or miss. Also, we went to bed with dirty feet unless we wore our shoes in the hotel room. The carpet was very dirty, but because of the dark colors of the carpet it was not noticeable...only on the bottom of our feet. The staff was very nice though. Breakfast was average.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The towels were a good quality. The refrigerator/freezer was top notch and served our needs well. The "free pet" policy was a huge plus! We will definitely stay here again.

Trisha (2/5): Don’t stay here - The room smelled like cigarettes and weed. There were men standing on their balconies watching us. VERY unsafe and rundown area. The only nice thing to say was the woman that checked us in was nice. We didn’t end up staying and drove the over five hours home not to stay.
K5732EGjackied (10/5): GREAT STAY AT A REASONABLE PRICE - After fifteen days on the road from Houston to Washington, DC, I've had plenty of stayovers. Best Western Inn in McAlester was one of the most pleasant. The staff was helpful, rooms clean and breakfast great.

Xuong (4/5): - Not worth the $110 I paid for. It was cold at night and turning the heat on has an awful smell. The bed sheet doesn’t feel comfortable and doesn’t feel clean. However, the staffs are nice and friendly.
