Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): Nice place - Nice room and.breakfast was very good. Nothing
- Cheyanne (1/5): - It was misleading as advertised on the website, I was charged an additional $150 that was not disclosed to me until I arrived, immediately asked for a cancelation and refund and was told no. Reported it to booking.com and they told me they were also unable to help, will never use this site ever again.
- Jennifer (1/5): - We went up to our room, only to find German cockroaches in the bathroom, by the fridge, by the desk, and by the beds. We went downstairs and asked for a refund but since we booked with booking.com they said they would have to contact the hotel. Booking has stated they have tried to contact the hotel but the hotel will not respond. I contacted the hotel today and they said no refund will be given since I booked with booking.com. For only being at the hotel 10 minutes and to find all those cockroaches. You would think I would get my money back. I give this hotel a zero.
- Daniel (4/5): es waren diverse käfer in meinem zimmer - es waren diverse käfer in meinem zimmer
- Richard (5/5): Ok - Lady at front desk was great as well as the breakfast attendant Dated
- Carolyn (7/5): -
- Gerald (9/5): We had a restful night of sleep after a long day of travel. Thank you! - The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The hot, full breakfast was great!
- Felleti (6/5): It was okay - The staff Since bugs in the room and breakfast wasn’t very good. Water pressure is very slow so it takes a while to shower

- Theron (8/5): Will definitely have no hesitations about staying at this hotel again. - The staff were very pleasant, friendly, and professional. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The biscuits for breakfast seemed stale and a little tough. The sausage gravy was cold. The chairs in the breakfast section could be more comfortable, they were metal with no cushion on them whatsoever. Wished the coffee maker worked, although they did have coffee in thermos.
- Brady (10/5): - Comfortable bed
- Randy (8/5): - Room was very nice and beds were comfortable Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10 AM, we were down in the breakfast area at 9:20 and they were out of biscuits and sausage. Asked the employee when they would have more and was very rudely told they would not be making anymore. Another guest also asked and was told the same thing. She went to the manager and the manager spoke to the other employee and we had fresh biscuits and sausage.

- Perry (10/5): It was very Good - Wifi kept going out.
- Katrin (8/5): War wie erwartet für den Zwischenstopp - Sehr freundlich Zimmer nicht so toll
- Donna (10/5): - We always stay at this location when We are in the area
- Phillips (10/5): -
- Don (1/5): It was horrible - nothing they charged for a deposit that should not have because they said while we were not in the room they entered the room because they said smoke detectors went off. no one was there and they said someone was smoking but nobody was in the room from 8 am until 2pm they went in at 1130
- Meyer (10/5): - Cleanliness. Good breakfast.
- Debbie (7/5): -
- Denise (9/5): Very comfortable, nice staff, very clean - Delicious The television shows were really hard to see because they were dark.
- Richard T. (7/5): Great location at a great price! - We love that it is so convenient to multiple distilleries and very reasonably priced. The pool is always enjoyable too. The breakfast was definitely not as tasty as before. The eggs were awful, and the coffee machine was broken. They had 1 pump thermos in the eating area and 1 in the lobby to serve quite a few people. It is starting to look a bit worn in several areas..
- Douglas (9/5): -
- Donna (7/5): - Breakfast No elevator and people were holding back door open smoking during our stay
- Stratton (10/5): - When the heat didn't work in the first room they didn't hesitate to put us in another room

- Deborah C (10/5): - Clean and friendly as on road trip and I look at reviews before booking. Great breakfast!
- Gary (8/5): - Staff was nice. Some areas appear in need of renovation or repair. This is mostly outside of the room that we stayed in though.
- Mattingly (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): - Unique about the property is the A door B door. These doors markers make it easier to find your room. I can not think of anything I did not like
- Doug (6/5): - Clean and breakfast was good but needs upgrade. Sheets were thin, and worn out with several holes.
- Leslie (10/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel met our needs, clean and safe. No complaints.
- Israel (10/5): - Very nice staff. Friendly, clean and comfortable. Hot water. Cold air conditioner. Nice pool for the kids.
- sarah (10/5): - we stayed for 4 nights, it’s conveniently right off the freeway, check in and out was super easy. staff was friendly and always there if we needed anything. pool looked nice and clean, breakfast was yummy and hot, and the lobby and our room were clean. thank you best western shelbyville for an amazing stay!
- Ashley (6/5): - Overall, great stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel is in a decent part of town. Right across from a Waffle House and gas station, so super convenient!
- Scenic07858300721 (2/5): Never staying here again! - This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, be warned if your booking here don’t! Find another motel cause this was a nightmare. My brother reserved a room cause we were going to a music festival and were looking for something affordable which this wasn’t their normal rate is around 70 a night they hiked the price up for a 4 night stay was $900 which is what ever but when we checked in the front desk lady apparently went against normal protocol and tried to do a split payment with mine and my brother cards and then botched it so my card was charged the full amount and then his was also charged for half make it almost 1300 dollars for one room they eventually fixed it after trying to charge my brothers charge 6 times, we made friends with other guests and car pooled to the event (important for later) the night before check out I went to go get coffee and the coffee in the lobby was out so I asked if he could make more and he told me to make some in my room and gave me coffee packets, ok no worries I go back to my room to do so I’m so glad I checked the pot before putting water in it cause it was so covered in mold I was scared I was gonna need my EpiPen cause I’m allergic to penicillin and that’s what mold is, on check out the manager tried to “fix” the situation and couldn’t even after getting into an argument on the phone with cash app about refunding stuff and ultimately had to charge the full amount to my card. I called corporate because I don’t know if this is normal and I wanted answers as wtf and they got my side of the story and put me on hold for like 10 mins to call the property manager to hear his side and the manager lied to corporate saying that even though our reservation was only for 2 people that we like 4 or 5 people in our room which is a blatant out right lie the only people who came in our room was one girl to look at my makeup to help me pick out outfits for the festival and was staying one the second floor in her own room which was a king sweet and the fridge in her room didn’t even work. It made everything she brought to have in her room spoil and unsaveable.
This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and will never stay here again, I will also be reporting them to their local health board for unsafe and unsanitary conditions in the rooms and posting this to as many websites as possible to warn other festival attendees about the risks and dangers at this establishment. Pictures in the reviews are misleading theirs so much damage lol over the property including how they used caulk to try to paste the tiles back to the sides of the pool and did an extremely poor job of doing so.
- Christian (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - Easy access from 64. Nice rooms, good breakfast.
- Dale (10/5): -
- Hanes (10/5): - Clean
- Shelby (2/5): Just a horrible experience worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at - Location While we was gone housekeeping came in our room took all our towels and wash clothes and didn’t take trash or anything else went to shower and that’s when I noticed there wasn’t any towels or wash clothes the room smelled like wet dog bed was uncomfortable and the smell when we walked in was terrible the breakfast was nasty the apple juice had stuff floating in it and not to mention loud there was some Mexicans out back drinking and listening to music really loud kept doors propped open if it hadn’t been for the convenience for where the hotel was located we would of got a refund and went somewhere else
- Courtney (6/5): - Looks newly remodeled The free hot breakfast is made in a cleaning closet full of cleaning chemicals.. serious concern for some cross contamination. It was pretty gross to see this.
- P3961JWtaylors (2/5): Miserable - Would give 0 stars. I was basically forced to live here while my apartment was being worked on for 6 weeks. I had both my kids 70% of the time I was there. One random afternoon the manager came and knocked on my door and accused my room of smelling like marjiuana meanwhile my room has smelled like that the ENTIRE TIME I HAVE BEEN THERE. I work a full time job and was not even there all day, just nights with both my children. They charge you for stupid stuff and give you no reasoning. The pool was gross the entire time, they never cleaned the bathroom, and the shower sprays outside the shower no matter how you move it so it always flooded. Would not recommend.
- Eric (10/5): - Clean rooms
- William (10/5): - Everything was great
- Michele (8/5): - Right off the interstate
- Jack (9/5): -
- Nancy (6/5): - Desk clerk very friendly. Room above was vety noisy but we called front desk and that sermed to take care of it.
- Della (8/5): Nicest Hotel of the 2025, but room smelled mildewy - Hostess greeted me, after I rang twice with a baby on her hip. She was clearly having a bad day. I was tired after 5 hours in the car and standing waiting for her. "Old Mac Donald had a Farm" was playing loudly in the office.
The room was a very nice with a couch, but I immediately smelled mildew, but my partner didn't. The smell disappeared after a while but whenever I left and came back, I smelled it. My allergies were off the charts the next day as I am really allergic to mold.
The breakfast was very nice. Our room later had a falling curtain rod an exhaust fan that didn't work and a sticky bathroom door. I reported the issues in room 117 when I left and the nice clerk said we could of moved you and I said we were to tire to move.
- Raymond (8/5): Very friendly staff. Great location - Bed was very good. Room was tired. Breakfast was traditional motel eats and just ok Needs some updates
- Jack (10/5): Clean and comfortable with the best water pressure of any hotel I have ever stayed at. - Truck parking Nothing
- Robert (6/5): - Nothing great or bad about the hotel. We only stayed for 1 night, it served our needs
- Joseph (10/5): - Nice place.... would stay again.
- Ewald (8/5): -
- Mashawna (10/5): -
- Sheila (10/5): The location of the hotel is great. You are near a Walmart and several restaurants. I felt safe. - When I first arrived I was a little upset because I could hear a toddler running around behind the desk but no one would come to the front desk, even after I said hello a couple of times. So, I left because I had to be somewhere. But when I went to check in later that night it went really smooth. The people at the front desk were very friendly my entire stay. The breakfast was OK. I feel like you need to offer more things. For example, I am not a sausage eater, especially sausage links. I personally prefer bacon. So, it would have been nice if you offered both. Plus, I do enjoy juice, but the machine was broken. But you didn't even have orange juice in a jug to replace the broken juice machine. But these are not complaints that would keep me from not staying here again, I would definitely stay again.
- Allieanna (5/5): -
- Nathan (6/5): - Never
- Francis (8/5): - I
- Desha (9/5): - Room was nice and quiet, dark and cool! We were worn out and it was a great stop for us!
- Robert (8/5): - Great hotel not a good space for dogs...many skunks passing thru!
- Victoria (10/5): - staff is kind, bed was comfortable, room was quiet with an air conditioning unit that didn’t kick on loudly, but kept them at a comfortable temperature. We slept soundly and safely.
- Sandra (6/5): Unsafe - It was conveniently located and relatively clean except that we had intentionally booked a hotel with a pool but the pool was green and unusable We had a SERIOUS incident with the cleaning staff on the second day of our stay attempting to physically force past me to enter the room while my teenaged daughters were getting dressed. We reported the incident and checked out early. I should have reported it to the police now that I’m home and thinking about it. He came to bring towels or whatever and I told him we did not need them and to stay out and he used his entire body weight to push past me after 3 attempts to shut the door in his face while repeatedly yelling,”stay out!”
- Cyndi (10/5): - The whole property was very clean and quiet.
- Allan (1/5): Bad - Nothing. Did not even stay. Soon as I parked some guy on a bike was suspicious. Trying to get in the hotel and my truck. Then made a drug deal right in the parking lot. After seeing that I went to the lobby and said what had happened and got my family out of there. Drug deal in the parking lot!
- John (8/5): I received a restful night's sleep. - The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Many places that I stay in have body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower. That would be a nice addition for your hotel.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Clean comfortable room and close to where we were going. My only complaint is that when I booked the hotel, through booking.com, the cost was $110 but my credit card was charged $160 and we didn’t purchase anything extra. I did have to leave the keys on the counter as the receptionist was busy with someone else and I had an appointment. They were in plain sight of her and she saw me leave them there.
- Laura (1/5): Worst property I’ve ever stayed at. - It had hot water. This property is in need of a major renovation and restructuring of management. No one at the front desk upon arrival. Have to use a ring doorbell for service. Woman appears holding a baby and has to juggle checking us in and holding the child.
There is no elevator, so if you are elderly or have trouble with stairs make sure you request a first floor room. We are in our 70’s and had to carry our luggage up to the second floor.
Our room was between the housekeeping room and stairs, so it was very noisy.
When we booked, I requested a room away from roadway. Our room was by two roadways. We constantly heard semis because we were near the interstate.
The decor of the room was dark and depressing. The accent chair was worn, frayed, and dirty.
I doubted the cleanliness of the room since I immediately saw an empty soda can on the floor by the chair. I seriously didn’t even want to sleep in the bed.
The window coverings didn’t fully fit to cover the window. There was a light in the parking lot right outside our room that shone into our room.
The bathroom was disgusting. The toilet seat had urine stains and scuff marks. The toilet ran constantly. There was no working AC in the bathroom and the ceiling fan didn’t work. There was dirt in the corners of the bathroom. The whole room had an unsanitary feel to it.
Breakfast included consisted of cold, hard scrambled eggs, sausage that tasted spoiled. I wanted oatmeal. Only had instant and no microwave to cook it in. You have to go outside the dining room, past a non-used popcorn machine and stairway to the front entrance to find the coffee/tea station. There was no attendant in the dining room.
Housekeeping was a joke. They took our towels, but didn’t replenish them. We had to cal for a hand towel for the bathroom at least. That took an hour.
There is a $50 for damages. No idea how they can determine damages.
- Sandra (10/5): Friendly staff, clean rooms - It was very clean
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Sanders (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (6/5): - Bathroom in your room not
- Kidd (10/5): Great Stay! - The person at the front desk was very welcoming. I received a room just as I requested and was able to pay for early check in. The room was clean and comfortable. The bedding was comfortable as well. I didn't have breakfast before I left but the jetset coffee was great. The location was perfect. Nothing
- Daytonakidd (10/5): Great Stay! - Front desk very welcoming. I was able to pay for early check in. I received the room and location of the room that I wanted. Room very nice, clean and comfortable. Bedding was comfortable as well. I didn't stay for breakfast but the jetset coffee as I was leaving was good. I go to Shelbyville off and on; will definitely stay again.
- Robert (4/5): Good value but bring your own toiletries! - Location was good as was value. Breakfast was very good. Toiletries were disgusting. Hand soap stuck to your hands. We couldn’t bring ourselves to use it in the shower and used shampoo we brought!
- terry (4/5): - No elevator to second floor
- Patti (4/5): - The desk person upon check in did not speak english well. I was charged for future incidentals that I wasn't expecting. When I asked how to work the tv remote, she didn't understand me. I hung my pants over the chair overnight and the pants where damp from sitting over the back of the chair. The A/C didn't remove any moisture in the room. The bed was softer than usual. We both slept poorly.
- Justin (4/5): - Still haven’t received my deposit back!!!
