I reported it the first night (I didn't need it fixed that late at night). and staff did note that. It wasn't fixed by the next day and I would have had to climb on a chair to do it. Bed was hard, pillows lumpy.

- Heather (10/5): Best weekend getaway experience - Connor at the front desk was exceptional. The room was perfect. The hotel was a short walk from everywhere we planned to go. The EV charger was accessible and faster than expected. The shower had very little water pressure.

They actually had almond milk and gluten-free bagels, and plenty of choices of food foods to eat Our room, number 117, was on the ground floor. The ceiling and the floor above creaked and groaned whenever somebody walked in that room. Impossible to sleep if somebody was walking around. It really needs to be fixed! And there wasn’t enough parking. After returning from a play that evening, we were forced to park on the street where we couldn’t even see our car.

- Aaron (5/5): It was a place to stay and get some rest. Wouldn’t stay here for vacation though. - It was in a good location with easy walking access to the park and downtown shops. The breakfast room was nice and had lots of room for guests. The selection of food was very good. The rooms in the main building are incredibly cramped. The bedroom gets extremely hot at night as there’s no central air. What I thought was kind of gross was the ice bucket is kept on the bathroom counter and the coffee setup is under the sink in the bathroom. This didn’t seem very sanitary at all so we didn’t use any of it. The fridge is in the dresser in the main living room. There’s a big spider living in the corner of the main bedroom area. The hot tub is luke warm which was a huge bummer.

- Dayna (10/5): Comfortable stay in excellent location. - The rooms had two amazing, king size beds that were so comfortable and yet the room was still spacious with two large beds! The the room and the bathroom was clean, well decorated and spacious. Even though there was some bits of leaves, and other natural matter in the water, the jacuzzi was warm and the swimming pool was refreshing. There was a breakfast served until around 10am which had a little bit of something to satisfy the whole group. The location of Bard's inn is the best! There are restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, the park and the Ashland Co-op is all in walking distance.

- Mary (8/5): Reasonably priced hotel in walking distance to town - Close to town. Less expensive than other Ashland hotels. Quiet. The breakfast was awful. Bitter and tasteless coffee. Packaged pastries. Sugary cereal and yogurt. Sugary juice.
- Julia (5/5): It could be so much more - The best thing about this hotel is the location to town. The bed was comfortable, the room was a good size, the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast could be so much better. We pay to go elsewhere for breakfast. They have a balcony, but only one chair for two people in the room. Were we supposed to sit on each other’s laps? This hotel has a fantastic location, a high price point, a poor breakfast, an unfinished balcony, etc. It could be so much more, but seems to be tired of trying.

- Hampton (7/5): Convenient and nice place to stay. My only issue was the water in the shower never got warm, ever. - Great location. Comfortable bed and room. The water only got tepid at best, never warm or hot. That's the only thing that was disappointing. Other than that great place.

And I liked that you have EV charging coffee is not strong enough no towel hook or bar to hang the towel at the sink

- Ted (9/5): The Bard's Inn is my "go to" place for overnight stays in Ashland, would stay there again. - Location was an easy less than 10 minute walk to downtown area although the pleasant weather allowed for that. Missed not having in-room coffee service. Seems one more standard "perk" has been eliminated.

- JANICE (8/5): Great location, but rooms need updating - The location is wonderful for access to restaurants in the theaters This hotel is badly in need of a refresh. We stay almost every year, and we keep thinking we will come in to rooms that have gotten the attention and updating they need, but sadly this is not the case.
- T1976KFsusanm (6/5): No internet - The location of this hotel is on the edge of town near countless restaurants and a lovely park. The charming neighborhood surrounding the hotel is filled with pretty houses. The rooms themselves are spacious, well-equipped, and clean. All good except to my great frustration, the internet was not working. For the entire stay, there was no internet connection. The gracious woman at the front desk when I checked-in seemed to be the only employee on site. She did her best to trouble shoot the problem in between assisting other guests who were checking in. Beyond rebooting the modem or router there were no other options for restoring service. When I checked out in the morning, the equally helpful clerk said he was aware of the problem and that the manager would call me later in the day to discuss reasonable compensation. I never heard from any person, just an auto-generated survey.

The breakfast room was spacious, clean, well stocked with a great variety of choices. The coffee was excellent. The room was comfortable, well furnished and clean. It was delightful being able to walk back to the Inn after attending a play at the Allen Elizabethan theater!
- Funlife4ever (8/5): Torn between 3 or 4 stars - Good: Clean. Walking distance to everything. Excellent parking. Bad: Small rooms, soft beds, dark rooms. Low water pressure. The blanket thing is uncomfortable. The breakfast here is one of the worst we’ve had in hotels. But cleanliness is almost everything. Almost. And good location.

Also easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. This is our third stay at Bard's Inn and have always had a great experience.

Shopping was close and the local restaurants were amazing. Am definitely coming back and plan on staying at the Bards Inn. Staff was amazing!

- Duane (8/5): Great except for the bed! - Everything was great except the bed was the WORST bed I've ever slept in! Room 792. It sagged in the middle and was uneven and lumpy. Felt like it was a REALLLLLY old bed. It was also squeaky.
- Kathleen (10/5): September 2025 stay - We love the Bard's Inn. It's so convenient for walking to the areas in Ashland that we like to visit. We had a mix up with one of our room reservations this time and the staff were very helpful in sorting it out. Our only concern was that we left our ipad behind when we left and it wasn't turned in to lost and found. We are still hoping it will be found.
- ljoymiller2 (2/5): Hospitality = Zero - I am very surprised that this property is in Best Western's category of BW Signature Collection. While the property itself is adequate, the staff is very poor, and the Signature Collection criterion of Hospitality is utterly lacking. Inexperienced, unhelpful, and quite frankly treated us as though they were doing us a favor by letting us stay there. This was not our first stay, and we've noticed this before. But our most recent visit (it will also be our last) was the worst. We stay at a lot of Best Western properties on our road trips and property quality and room quality can be spotty. But hospitality is something any location should be able to do if it really wants to. Bard's Inn apparently doesn't want to.
- Debra (7/5): Close to the theater. - The location is so close to town. Front desk tried to place us in one of the dark dingy run down rooms. Even though the hotel was not full, and we requested the Verona far in advance, it wasn’t easy getting what we requested. Wifi and hot water was not a guarantee.
