Also, try restaurant on bottom floor, it was excellent food.
- Pamela (4/5): Get away visit. - Rocco’s was closed for renovations. That could have been posted on the website. Bed was comfortable. Could use TCL- wall patched, caulked in the bathroom, peeling wall paper. Will not stay again.
- Fausto (6/5): A lot of room for improvement! - Brick Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Newtown, close to shopping and restaurants. There is a quality restaurant downstairs. Main issue is that the hotel room we were given is dated, a little rundown, one window AC unit cooling the room but not the bathroom. Bathroom is tight with nowhere convenient to place your toiletries. Bathtub/shower would probably be tight/claustrophobic for a big person. Bed and pillows are not terribly comfortable.

- Aaron (10/5): - The facility was spectacular. The restaurant in the downstairs is a little high end and you do have to walk through the crowd to get into the hotel, but it adds to the charm. The building is very old and shows its age, but is very well maintained if you like all historical buildings this is a great place to stay and reasonably priced. Does have offstreet parking which is a plus and the town is fantastic to wander around very safe and very quaint.

- Brooke (10/5): - This is a historic inn from the 1700s. George Washington slept here along with Hessian officers captured in the revolution. The rooms are old, but clean with updated bathrooms. The restaurant on the first floor is the focus of the Brick Hotel and their staff supplies your key. The are is very walkable with fun sgops amd restaurants nearby.

The shower kept fluctuating from hot to cool . There is a little coffee station in the hall. Fuse blew while using it though. We had to wait to check in because no one was there at 9 pm … They had to call someone who arrived 10 min later to give us a key .

- Nancy (8/5): Not a hotel from hell - I had read about Gordon Ramsay's review of The Brick Inn on his hotels from hell series and was a little apprehensive about staying there since I had booked and paid for it over a month ago we went anyway. The hotel was fine it was clean I miss miss match your furniture large warm TV was on for us when we entered it was fine
- Dan (4/5): - While we love historic hotels, we would not stay here again. Room 205 was actually fairly nicely decorated and bed very comfortable. The small folding table in the bathroom is not a replacement for a vanity. The water damage and mold is a constant problem in between the sink and shower and cannot be fixed by multiple layers of plaster. One shade had several tears in it. The music noise from the restaurant was too loud and went until 11:00 pm. The problems with the showers have not been addressed and are terrible.

I thought the rooms were a little bit bare and while adequate they lacked the charm of other historical properties where I have stayed. My room (208) was directly over the restaurant and because it was a busy Saturday night, it was loud well into the night. I found the coffee bar convenient but when the half and half and half ran low, it was not replenished. I also felt check in was a little confusing --

Never was I told to wash my face with paper towel to remove make up. Decided to wait to get to my home to shower. Would not likely recommend. Sue M.
- Donna (6/5): - Lucky we did not have a problem climbing 3 sets of stairs- Old property- room was on a slant - minimal bedding- sheer curtain on 2 windows, with NO Shade or blinds -middle window had a shade- restaurant linen napkins were placed one after the other ~ being used as a bureau cover/doily( It had the same yellow stripe as their dinner napkins at the restaurant. The Lunch at Rocco's was fabulous best part of the stay!
- Linda (2/5): - The hotel is in desperate need of remodeling. The shower is yellowish from age, the toilet is so old I don't think they make that color any more. The ceiling needs to be spackled and the floors need to be leveled. Oh and the stairs need more light and are crooked. I would have thought I was drunk but the only thing I drank was water.
- laura (4/5): - There was no heat. They provided a space heater that scared me and was a bright light all night long. No desk, or anywhere to sit and use laptop or write. No coffee machine. Coffee in the hall, but no decaf. No microwave. No refrigerator or ice machine. No decent lighting. Forget about putting makeup on in the bathroom. I had to carry luggage up and down 2 flights of steps. The floors were severely tilted, I worried that the building was not sound. My stay was a bit scary. I was supposed to go back and stay there again in a few days after I attended a wedding, but I cancelled.

- donna (10/5): - Great location room was clean and comfortable. The resturaunt was packed so we eat a short walk away at the Green Parot. They had a great band so we stayed thru to the last set. We would come back again and stay at same hotel.
- Dennis (2/5): - This is not a hotel with a restaurant. Rather it is a very large ( and very good) restaurant with rooms upstairs. The hotel is an afterthought. There is no front desk. The small front desk that exists is for the restaurant. There is no lobby. When you check in there is a key waiting for you and when you check out, you just leave the key. Gives the term "remote " a new meaning. The rooms are old and stuffy. You can't open a window because there are no screens. The dust ruffle on the bed was held together with safety pins. The shades were ripped. Wasn't even a couch to sit on in the room. An old room with old furniture, old plumbing and old electric ( there are warnings posted as to how to operate the hair dryer so as not to blow a fuse) is not necessarily historic. It is just old. The music from the restaurant downstairs permeated the rooms all day. The room was small and there were bugs. Would have been better off in a Comfort Inn. Good location however.

The bathroom was spotless although there was a note asking you to use paper towels rather than the hand towels to avoid staining the white towels with makeup. The floor, being a very old building was very uneven. There isn’t an elevator so be prepared to climb stairs with your luggage. The restaurant Rocco’s was great!

In fact things were so bad that before we left in the morning we took pictures of the room so that we have proof of what it looked like. Just in case.

- Volodymyr (10/5): - This is historic hotel is an experience. If you're looking for a modern hotel stay...this is not it. However, it is definitely has its charm. We stayed for 2 nights recently and while we didn't spend a lot of time in the room, we really enjoyed our stay. There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, the food is excellent, and you don't have to drive far). The room itself is not large, and doesn't have modern amenities, such as USB ports on the electric plugs, or electronically controlled AC. However, there is a window A/C unit that did a decent enough job to cool the room while we were there, and rooms are very clean and have all of the necessities for a nice stay. The only somewhat negative say about hotel/room is that mattress comfort can be improved. It was bit rough and springy, definitely can be upgraded. Outside of that, it is a great historic hotel, and will definitely book again when next time in this area.

- David (6/5): Just okay - Thia is our first stay at this very conveniently located boutique hotel. We can only speak for the one room: a cozy corner room called the Pierce. All rooms are different. The Pierce was quiet but minimally appointed. No water glasses. No in-room coffee station. No minibar. Old school minimalist boarding house vibe. At one point a picture fell off the wall. I couldn't rehang it because the nail holding it up was too loose in the wall. A bit shabby, that. Two air conditioners - an old wall unit and a newer window unit - worked all night trying to keep the room cool, which made for a great deal of ambient noise. The bed was a bit like sleeping on a trampoline. Very springy. Not uncomfortable but not great for two active sleepers whose movements transfer across the bed. We're use to firmer hotel mattresses. Also of note, there is no elevator, so be prepared to navigate at least one rather narrow flight of stairs. We had to climb two flights, fortunately with minimal luggage. All in all, just okay. It was one night that served its purpose, but did not leave us planning a return trip.

- Bryan (10/5): - Great stay. Clean and great restaurant. Walking in Newtown borough is beautiful. Nice quaint shops and restaurants.
- Edward (8/5): - This is an older hotel in the historic section of Newton. If you are tired of the standard chain hotels and are looking for something quaint and interesting, this is a good choice. The restaurant is pricey, but has an interesting menu. They don’t serve breakfast, but offer some walkable recommendations. The list needs to be updated. Two of the restaurants are closed.
- Kathleen (6/5): - We did not like walking through a tent while diners were eating. The bed in the Johnson room is very uncomfortable. A mirror in the bedroom instead of a picture. Having a mirror only in the bathroom is very inconvenient for guests. There should be a mirror in the actual sleeping area. Did appreciate the parking that was available only for guests.

- Audrey (8/5): - The Brick has the feeling of an old fashioned inn. The room we had was quite small, but big enough, the floors bit wavy, but even enough. Even with tho atop the very busy Rocco’s restaurant it was perfectly quiet. As a historic building I understand there being no elevator, but the hotel would benefit from one.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Unfortunate for me. - While climbing to the 3rd floor, it was a quaint observation that you could clearly see the whole building lean. Opening the door, it was wonderful to feel the AC already cranking. The location couldn’t be better. The room was mostly clean. There were spiders on the walls & on the bed. There were 4-5 noticeable hairs throughout that were there upon arrival. It wasn’t possible to close the window facing the road completely. In my life, I’ve never tried to rest on a less comfortable bed. I had no idea a bed could be that lumpy & unfunctional, let alone be expected to pay to sleep in it. I have reasonably wide shoulders, but I still couldn’t turn to face the direction of the shower head without the curtain and the wall touching both. It was also odd that the shower head is in the corner of the shower, shooting to the side and over most guests. If anyone was at the check-in podium after 10pm last night or there this morning, I’d have had this talk with them. By 9:30, I was well-prepared to tell someone I wasn’t staying. Also, the hotel’s website says nothing about the fact that the town’s most highly rated restaurant that they happen to be attached to is currently closed for refurbishment. For this specific trip, it would have been a deciding factor. Some positives. But overall, never again for me.

- Michael (6/5): - They are not open for breakfast. No coffee available. They are open for lunch at 11pm which is about the time someone is at the front desk. There is no phone in my room. I called the hotel from my cell phone to find out when the restaurant is open. The floor in my room is slanted, very annoying. I had to turn the A/C off because it rattled so loud it kept me awake. The TV is difficult to operate. There were two remotes and the one for the TV didn’t work because it didn’t have batteries in it. The temperature of the shower water fluctuates between hot and cold without me touching it. Other than this the room is fine!
- Alexander (6/5): - We understood that is very old building , which gave us some nice filling of the History , but in the unit #303 was NO FRIDGE , NO EVEN SMALL TABLE , AND JUST ONE ARM CHEAR , AND NOT EVEN ONE CHEAR FOR SECOND PERSON ! ? ! And on the front desc no booklets , no any info about what is around hotel , like some point of interest . Also - THERE IS NO ANY SIGHN OUTSIDE ON THE STREET , WITH THE NAME OF HOTEL ! Which made us circling around blocks to find out where is that hotel , and where is the entrant , till we so the waitress from restaurant , and ask her
- Rachel (4/5): - The double beds are super soft, mushy with no back support. Also, the hotel is big on RULES and calling you out on them. You break one, even one you didn't know about (opening a window three inches) and you get a phone call from someone who has no diplomacy or customer service skills AND a note slipped under your door. Won't be back!

- Suzette (8/5): - We went to a comdey show at The Newtown Theatre. A block and a half walk away. Alot to do in the area. Great Places to eat. And, We were also given the tip to try the Homemade cookies from The Hardware Store. Bought 2 bags👍👍 Would stay here again and higjly recommend.

- Mark (10/5): - An historic property that is clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar (Roccos) is excellent. Had the honey glazed salmon with creamed leeks, and potatoes. The heat in the room was strong, the bed comfortable and plenty of hot water. In the hall way on the second floor is coffe and water. Extra towels, water, and toilet paper also are in a glass cabinet in the hall. The town of Newton is walkable and quaint. It's not far from New Hope and Washington's Delaware crossing, Peddlers Village, and many wineries.

- Bridget (8/5): - I enjoed my stay at the Brick hotel! We stayed in room 301. It was clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. You could hear the noise from outside but that didn't bother us. It was also a very easy check-in and felt very private. We will definetly be staying again!

- Lisa (2/5): Horrible hotel - The room we had (302) was horrible.The floor was so slanted I would consider it a safety issue. I got out of bed and lost my balance due to the floor being so uneven. The temperature was hard to control, possibly because the knob was broken on one of the controls. The noise from the restaurant was too much for me. It went on until after midnight and you could heat every clink of the dishes being cleared. No sleep at all. I couldn’t wait to get out of this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice old hotel,well kept but without guest service - Lovely old hotel with plenty of character. Not a very high quality mattress. No actual front desk or designated hotel entrance, we had to use the restaurant entrance and found an envelope with our keys and a note to sign in.
- Gina (6/5): - Newtown is a really nice walkable town. The inn is convenient because it’s right in town and near everything. The inn overall is historic and charming and the restaurant in it is great. The problem is the rooms. They have paper thin walls so you can hear everything. We listened to our neighbors conversation as if they were in our room! Also the heating system is old and not efficient. Because of this, each room has a space heater to use. Some other little oddities because of the age of the inn. Overall good for one night but I wouldn’t stay any longer.

- Carol (8/5): - we had a quaint room above a fine dining establishment which we adored because it was not a cookie-cutter hotel room. If you want to stay somewhere different, near great food, and you don’t mind steps or the buzz of voices and music from below, give this place a try. We would go back.
- Denise (8/5): - I like staying historic inns and hotels. This was a nice historic hotel. However, I felt that more attention has been given to the restaurant on the property than to the hotel. Check in was getting my key from the restaurant staff--there was nothing separate for the hotel. I also felt that the hotel area and my room were a bit run down and had not been given the careful attention that the restaurant clearly had been given.

- C.D. (4/5): - Website when I reserved said breakfast was included; it was not. When I turned the shower water on, black soot came out in the water. No temperature control in the room; was very very hot all night. Windows don't open. Wasn't the best experience.
