- Katie (6/5): Great base camp for Redwood exploration. - This hotel was centrally located for the things we wanted to do. It was a very busy hotel, so you have to be aware when you are taking your pet out to go potty. There were a lot of people and other dogs around. The room was very good and the bed was comfortable. There was a strip of grass on one side of the hotel for pets to do their business and just one block down there was a path along the bay, which was pleasant during the day. it got a little sketchy toward the evening as it appears to be a spot where people like to hang out. Overall the hotel was very nice and makes a great base camp for exploring the Redwoods. The Avenue of the Giants is only a 30 minute drive. plenty of restaurants and it is fun to explore the Old Town area. I highly recommend Gallagher's for lunch and Phatsy Kline's (located in the Inn at 2nd & C hotel) both in Old Town. If you go to Phatsy Kline's (named after the proprietor'scat) I recommend that margarita and the charcuterie board. Yum!! No fault of the hotel, but it was super busy with lots of people and a number of pets...so you need to be careful if you have a reactive pet. Once you are outside the parking lot it is less chaotic.

- Amanda (7/5): It was comfortable, but whacking the amenities that were promised - The property was beautiful, and the staff was super helpful I didn’t like that they sold us on having a fireplace in our room, and he told me that they don’t work at all in any room. That definitely should’ve been specified on the sightseeing as there’s pictures of their fireplaces. I also came specifically for the hot tubs and the pool for my kid and one of the hot tubs didn’t work at all, and the other hot tub was colder than the pool so that was very disappointing.

I showed around 2pm, All she could say is 4 o'clock check in over and over, I understand being full and having to turn rooms. But refused to contact house cleaning, It was a Tuesday and parking lot empty. Even if the room is not going to be ready until, There is a way to make the customer feel ok that they will try and text me? NO Everything else was fine upon my return and check in about 5pm

I reported the issues to staff when I checked out. Finally a mat needs to be placed in jacuzzi and bath tub instead of being available on request. It is a safety issue. Overall for the price I paid per night we were disappointed with the room.

Room smelled kind of moldy but everything was very clean. Big rigs right outside of room were very loud. Especially the US food trucks that need to stay cold. Kicked on and off all night. Cigarette smell from people outside travels right into the room. Definitely need some new pillows!

- Irene (9/5): Great hotel to stay for our trip to the Redwoids - The hotel, although, right next to the 101 was still peaceful and quiet. There is a garden area with a koi pond and next to it a hot tub. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. No safe in the room. Fridge was a bit noisy.

The ladies manning the breakfast were also so sweet and made us feel very comfortable. It was well worth the value and I would recommend it to others and definitely would stay again myself. There was also a restaurant/bar and grill in the parking lot where you got 10% off if you showed your room key. Room was outdated and kinda dingy.

- Shirley (2/5): - I called the hotel ahead of time to let them know we would be arriving late. We got to the hotel about 10PM. We checked in at the office, got our room keys, unloaded our car and went to the room. We opened the door and took our luggage in the room. The room #108 was awful!! It was on the bottom floor, way over in the corner of the hotel, dark and very musty smelling. It was a dog friendly room. The bathroom door was all scratched up and the bathroom fan sounded like there was a helicopter in the room. The lights over the sink area were very dim and the walls were dark colors. We are 3-80 year old ladies and just didn't have the energy to go back to the office and have to move our luggage again. The next morning we went back to the office and made sure that we got another room. It took and hour or so for them to find us another room. The room we moved to was very nice. It looked like the rooms we saw online and thought we were going to get originally. The lady in the office (Tasha?)was really nice and very helpful. She's not the one that gave us the awful room the night before. I feel that we should get a refund for the terrible room we had the first night.
