Had a king size bed room which had a hide-a-bed coach, desk & chair, refrigerator and microwave, and it had a ceiling fan over the bed, very nice to have since we have one at home, we like the air circualtion.

- terese (4/5): - Extremely rude woman on staff to check us in. After 9 hour drive to get there (to see my mother in hospital) we waited at least 20 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. When i mentiomed we had been there waiting for quite some time waiting for a staff memember, her response was " I ha e other guests staying here too, ya know." Clearly not someone who should be employed in the hospitality industry. I booked the room about 1.5 -2 weeks in advance for 3 people in a room with 2 doible beds. Yet, there were toiletries for just 1 person and there was an old, used coffee filter in the coffee pot. Unacceptable!

Keys would not work to open room door so mgr had to come open door. Suggestion on bathroom light; fan comes on with the light. If you want the bathroom light on at night, so you can see where you’re going, the fan coming on, too, makes too much noise. Might want to give each feature their own switch.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and Quiet - Nice clean quiet. What I would recommend, breakfast needs upkeep. We were there at 8am. Breakfast should be a little later for weekends. It was over at 9. Very few tater tots, 2 spoons of eggs were dried out. Had to ask for milk and orange juice, need sugar free syrup. Ask and they brought out more bagels and muffins. I understand we were 3 of few guests, but needed better upkeep. Also, not sure when the pool should be open, but the pool was dirty and hot tub empty. I know kids are looking for that when you stop for the night. Otherwise, every one was extra nice and the hotel clean and comfortable.

- 715rscott (2/5): Nasty Place Avoid at all cost - Dirty and Nasty room. Smelled terrible, sheets stained, several lights in the room were out. Pee in the toilet from either housekeeping or previous guest. The front desk lady was very nice made checking in really easy but boy when I got in the room I wanted to just go sleep in the truck. So gross!!!

- bernardmA742CJ (10/5): Old reviews should be deleted. - I was concerned about the reviews I read but went there anyway. It’s nothing like what is described in the older review. I was told ownership changed in December. That might be it. Hotel and rooms are clean and smell fresh. Amenities are clean, breakfast is humble but honest and will fill you up as a business traveler. Rooms have fridge, microwave and good coffee makers and coffee. The A/C works really well. Staff is friendly and efficient. The pool should be shut down until it’s repaired and cleaned up, I wouldn’t go in it as it is. They recommended good places to eat and I was happy with that. To sum it up, a fresh and clean stay at a good price in the middle of nowhere.
- Tom (8/5): - Most everything was as we expected it would be, from Best Western. Due to the cold day on our arrival, room number 222 was chilly, set at 62. We had some time to be in our room and visit with family from the kid rodeo, then watch a bit of TV. With the exterior wall mounted heater and fan, the continuous air movement from the heater unit was always blowing the top curtain valance up and down in a way that was very, very annoying, and taking away from a calm conversation or even watching TV. Take it down!! TC

- Q1289RLalexs (10/5): Improvement is on a roll! - After a couple of stays last year, I decided it was time to put this hotel on the DO NOT STAY list. I was displeased with their over-priced rooms and their “stale” brown-bag-breakfast. And, the owner wasn’t exactly the kindest person on the property… Yesterday, because of unexpected traffic setbacks, I “had” to stay there. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Georgia, whom was working the front desk while training a young man. I remembered Georgia from my first visit to this property. In fact, Georgia’s awesome customer service was the reason for my second stay at this hotel. Unfortunately for me, she wasn’t working the front desk during my second visit. Had she been working, I would not have put this hotel on my DO NOT STAY list… Georgia walked her trainee thru the checkin process and in a couple of minutes, I was in my clean, comfortable, hotel room. Georgia added that last month, the hotel was bought by a new group and that the new owners are so nice and courteous to (not only the customers, but to) everyone; including all hotel employees. This morning’s breakfast at this hotel was delicious and contained a great variety. Georgia, (and the obvious changes) have restored my trust in this location. I’m adding it to the top of my list of places to stay, while in the area!

Great lighting. I even had a nice view of a field with freshly baled hay. Georgia was a fantastic employee, always friendly and helpful, and seemed to be always there! Hardest worker in the Lone Star State.

We tried to trade for anotrher BWest hotel in Houston and were denied. Our team wont be using BW anytime soon.

I am just as angry at Expedia and your customer "bot" service, which was/is a joke. I will never use Expedia or stay at a Best Western again. I have filed a dispute regarding the $158.19 charge. I paid the $9.00 for the cancellation option but because I was trying to deal with your "bot" for 45-60 minutes, I missed the 4:00 deadline to cancel. You can contact me if you like but I have given complete statements to Chase regarding the charge to my account for the $158.19 charge. Expedia, your service is horrible and Best Western, hire some people who can communicate.

Charged a deposit and won’t return it and manager is very rude and disrespectful, I booked my room one month in advice and when I checked in they said they were over booked and all they didn’t have double bed like o had reserved so they gave me a king size bed and manager say we only have this room in front of their washer and dryers so it’s going to be noisy but take or leave it!! I give them a one 1 The room was hot and smelled like wet towels

HOWEVER, The Best Western Lone Star Inn in Edna, Texas is excellent! We travel to Edna often and always stay here. It is VERY clean, the beds are VERY comfortable and the staff is very professional and helpful. When in Edna - this is the place to stay!

- rachelfT2155IC (2/5): Stay Away is my advice!! - Horrible customer service. The clerk that checked us in at night stated my reservation had been cancelled. I explained to him that situation was impossible as my card had already been charged. The reviews that state this property charges extra fees is correct. I was charged a $100 incidental fee and there isn't even a restaurant on property. When I inquired as to why there was such a high incidental charge the clerk stated they have people "smoke pot" in the rooms. I was traveling with my daughter so needless to say after that comment I was apprehensive about my safety. The breakfast was horrible, the key didn't work well to the side door and the $140 a night was way overpriced for the quality of this hotel.

Kind of gross to be cleaning your body when surrounded by mold. That was room 210. Otherwise, beds were comfortable and decor pleasant.

- angel (2/5): Very unprofessional - Front desk was incredibly rude. No explanation on the hold on the credit card. Did not refund the entire amount of the hold and no explanation as to way the full amount was not returned. Kept getting the manager will call you back.

- AMC032021 (2/5): They will scam you with extra charges - I know there aren’t many options in Edna but PLEASE listen when I say this hotel scams you out of money. I had to change a reservation from two nights to one, they refused to help, so I called the 800 number and received assistance. When I checked out after my confirmed one night stay, they charged a bogus $154 cancellation fee all on their own. It was been quite an ordeal with the 800 number representative to get refunded. Stay anywhere else and save yourself the hassle of being scammed.

The woman at the front desk wasn’t courteous or welcoming at check in or out. In the future I will think very long and hard before making reservations at this property. I’d rather drive to Victoria, pay less and be inconvenienced.😩

The guy working the phone and the front desk was very rude and messed up the paperwork for three separate rooms so we had to redo check in twice which took a long time. Check in time was at 2, we got there at 1:50 and he wouldn’t let us check in until almost 2:30. Then there was no water in the hotel for almost 5 hours. Just overall not that good of a trip.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - I didnt like expedia service i dint recommend this website to book a hotel poor understanding and really poor managment,i order a a room form expedia and for some reason it book me another day i call expedia about this situation and they couldnt get my money back because it wasnt a refundable room and they blame the hotel, but i call the hotel and they said that is expedia who does that not the hotel i really dont recommend this company they dont care about the customer they just care about the money and they screw me with 150.00 dollar room that i never stay i really will scalate this to every source of media sow people dont get screw.

- Tracy (8/5): Crick in the neck - Room was nice clock was coated in some orange fuzz as well as the lamp shade. Like it was not cleaned well. Bed was Very uncomfortable! Did not sleep much at all. Had a long day of driving ahead with crick in my neck and a headache. Mattress could use some pad for comfort and some support pillows they were full of air and flattened.

Also, I asked for an extra blanket and I was told “no.” When I asked could I pay for an extra blanket, they did not have a defined rate. It seemed to be subject to management discretion.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - On previous stays, I and my adult children's family were impressed by our full experience with this small TX town's facility. This is why I was surprised by the questioning I endured while checking-in at my last stay. This unnerving exchange resulted in my rooms costing more than the original AARP reservations. Since it was late on a holiday, I felt coerced into agreeing with this increase. Thankfully, I had some flexibility with my budget; so, it did not completely disrupt my family's holiday celebration. Being a senior on a fixed budget, any change to my budget of a planned trip is difficult. Travelers, especially seniors, should be aware of this possibility if they choose to stay at this facility.
