- Roderick (10/5): - I stayed here for 3 nights and it was quite enjoyable. I checked my room for any bed bugs or pests before unpacking and it was clean except a cobweb in the corner above the door. The nights were so quiet you could hear a pin drop so sleeping wasn’t an issue. The breakfast selection was good. There was a problem with the non-touching pancake maker, but the front desk personnel fixed it within 2 minutes. The pool was clean and the resting area was relaxing. Wifi is easy to access and the TV selection was pretty standard. I would recommend this property to my friends and family visiting from out of town. I definitely will go back sometime in the future.

- Krista (6/5): Ok but not great. Not worth the price. - Very overpriced for an average hotel. Check in clerk was not rude but not particularly friendly either. When I arrived I asked for a downstairs room since there is no elevator and I couldn’t climb stairs. The only available room was two queens instead of a king. That was not a problem but then I was charged more than the reservation that I made on Expedia. Check out clerk had no explanation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok - It was ok nothing special, basically a motel with breakfast. The room was spacious and mostly clean other than a mystery stain on the curtains. The area around the hotel didn’t feel super safe some random man tried to *solicit* services I do not provide.
- Stacy (6/5): - The lady working the desk for the evening was very nice. Room seemed clean but we ended up killing two roaches during our overnight stay. Also, I’m usually not too particular about my bed but the bed in our room was not good and my back was hurting by early morning and I couldn’t sleep any longer. A/C was so loud you could hardly hear the TV even at max volume. Wouldn’t stay here again.

First, I was told breakfast was served until 10, we went in thinking we could have breakfast, it was 9:15. The lady in charge of maintaining it was on her phone, we got some eggs and biscuits then she started putting things up. I wanted a pancake, nope, put up. I had a muffin, my husband was going to get one but she had that put up as well. She was on her phone the whole entire time we were there for breakfast on a PERSONAL call. We didn’t care to hear it. We didn’t get entirely what we wanted, but what we did have was good. Perhaps I misunderstood the ending time of breakfast.

Office staff member Lori went above and beyond to help me understand Best Western Rewards Program nuances -- what a blessing she was -- AND then she assisted us up to our room personally, since my husband needed to climb steps with his cane. Service with a smile: uncommon today but tremendously appreciated! Room accommodations were of exceptional quality.as well. Great stay. Thanks Best Western!
- Gary (10/5): - The lady that checked us in was excellent, friendly and very outgoing, and wanted to make sure everything was up to her standards. By contrast the morning desk clerk was more interested in her phone, she did say good morning, but that was it, thus the 4 star rating for staff. At breakfast one guest asked how to get out of the yogurt machine, without getting up she said it must be out of order, not very professional. The room was very clean and overall we had a nice night and would stay again.
- Steven (6/5): - Room not ready when we were given the keycards. Bed was made but cleaning not done, we had to leave so it could be done. This hotel needs a serious update. The things that were wrong 10 years ago when we stayed there have gotten worse. Old furnishings and carpet, almost nothing left at the breakfast area at 9:00AM, no yogurt in the machine any of the three mornings. Needs to join the 21st century and add electric vehicle charging capability. We’ll stay in Shreveport or BC on our next trip.

Ask for refund so we could go somewhere else... told us they could only refund 13.00.. we were very disappointed with this hotel coming from out of town. EVERYTHING WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING

In the small town of Minden, options are limited, but after doing some research, I found this place to be the best choice. I’m really glad with my stay! It’s a hotel at the end of the day—just a decent spot to rest.

- Gail (6/5): - This was an ok place with excellent person at the desk when we checked in a 9 p.m. We also enjoyed grabbing a nice hot breakfast on our way out putting together two egg and sausage biscuits for the road at 7:05 a.m. Our one issue was a pretty big one ... the clanking noises the heater in the room made. Granted it got very cold last night, but my husband and I both had a difficult time sleeping. It probably covered any road noise, but getting a good night of sleep is the most important thing when spending a night in a hotel just off the interstate. Again ... we really liked the lady who made checkin most pleasant.

I will stay there again. The only complaint I have is that I put out the do not disturb magnet and someone came in my room and took the bathmat. That's all that was done. Rather odd.

- TXROADY (2/5): Fly swatting olympics. - First of all, the pictures online are very deceiving. This is a very old motel. My sister won Gold in the fly and fruit fly killing competition. We felt like we were on an airport runway being bombarded by all the flies. The door had a big gap in it and was probably the "come on into A/C" entrance for the flies. The TV channel selection was lacking to say the least. We did have one towel, wash cloth, and hand towel each. Such extravagance! Hoping to get a decent breakfast was just too much to ask for. The scrambled eggs container was empty (at 8:30 am), the gravy had zero taste, and the biscuits were hard as a rock. The only saving grace was the muffins. Needless to say, I will never stay at this location, ever again and strongly suggest anyone needing a room in the area stay across the street at the Holiday Inn Express.
- deannam433 (2/5): Do Not Stay - The photos and reviews are definitely false advertising that you get online. The Best Western is an old motel. Filthy outside and inside. Had to get rid of moths and other insects before going to bed. When we got up dead cockroaches in bathroom. The bathroom walls were filthy! They tried to update the rooms but didn’t do a great job.

- Tim (8/5): - The property seemed to me poorly maintained. One example is that there was an 8 foot ladder lying on the balcony walkway, which is a trip hazard. Seems like someone would care whether customers hurt themselves. This is just careless.

- Paige (6/5): Pet friendly location - The bed was medium-firm. The a/c took a while to get cooled, but it did finally get there. I like the semi-private half wall divider, and it would have been nice to use as an early riser but the couch wasn't comfortable enough to be inviting. I was pleased that the breakfast was substantial for a self serve, and open long enough for most travelers. Check out is by 11 a.m. Breakfast does through 9:30. There were several families with dogs we noticed at check out but never heard them. Fee for pets is $25 per animal.

I enjoyed the fact there were places to eat on the street. The room was comfortable but my sheets had spots on them. Customer service was good,all my issues/concerns were addressed in a timelt manner.

They know how to provide amenities away from home to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They make providing quick and effective service a priority.

The room smells musty, and the swimming pool is green. This place is overcharging by about forty bucks. We'll stay at the Best Western in Monroe from now on. This one has gone downhill.

The staff at Best Western has made my need to stay very pleasurable. They have made sure that all of my needs have been met. I learned that this hotel is the preferred provider for price, quality, and hospitality.

The a/c smelled fresh when we turned it on instead of that “moldy” smell we experienced in other hotels. Only complaint would be breakfast could be better. - G3869YLamyh (10/5): Late arrival and early departure - We were stopping for the night on our way to eastern Louisiana and this hotel in Minden seemed like the perfect spot for us to drive to and then be able to finish our drive in the morning. We were so appreciative of the front desk gentleman who accepted my call about our late arrival (nearly 1 a.m.) and, upon arrival, he had a room close to the lobby and a key for us as well as a fast check-in so we could get to bed quickly and sleep before having to get up early to finish our drive. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the breakfast offerings and coffee for our departure. It was very accessible to the interstate but in a quiet location.
