- Lisa (1/5): Avoid this hotel and town.drive farther south and stay away from this hotel! - Nothing My room was not clean. Carpet stained and had not been vacuumed. Bedsheets were also stained and dirty. Curtains were a mess. The location felt unsafe. The town itself felt sketchy. Front desk person was not helpful and even after all the issues refused to give us even a small refund back. She did move us to a room that was moderately better. At least the bed sheets seemed as if they had been laundered in the next room. The price of the room was ridiculously high for the type of hotel and service you get. Pay extra and go somewhere else! This was the only hotel we had issue w on our entire pacific coast highway trip.

When we arrived (later in the evening), a man on a bicycle pulled up, opened the automatic lobby doors with his bike and yelled inside that there were customers there. And then he yelled again (during which my passenger and I locked all doors and stayed in our vehicle). It was disconcerting to say the least. Also witnessed a man going through a garbage can on the property. Property is old and worn. Room was as clean as it could be, but carpets were dark and questionable. Shower gel was empty. This was NOT worth $184+

- LANCE (4/5): Would not recommend. Most disappointing Best Western & Bookings stay I have ever had. - Breakfast staff were friendly and attentive. Our hvac unit was filled with dirt and large chunks of debris. When we checked in the desk staff was smoking pot at the front door. While checking us in , she smelled so badly. After hiking all day, got in shower there was no body wash or shampoo. The bathroom fan didn’t work.

Dogs allowed but signs on property to keep of grass. Walking on street I noticed a dog are in the dirt in alley next to hotel. Bed hard. Parking narrow and fills up at night so no place to park.

I arrived at early evening so not much time to explore the town but the food was good. The room was large but a little dated in some respects. I liked the staff and the breakfast was fine. The room was a little dated and I think the cost was a little high.

- EDUARDO (5/5): location is good, room is ok. staff ( ellen ) is rude and condescending. but the rest of the front desk staff are nice a - location The Front Desk staff by the Name of Ellen. She’s cold un approachable, Kinna condescending. being Asian customer you can see the way she entertain a white customer. I felt she( Ellen ) is less accomodative to us compare to a caucasian customer. She ( Ellen ) seems less interested in accomodating us and doesnt even established eye contact when we are about to check in. compare the way she accomodate other caucasian customer. I guess with a staff like this needs to be undergone seminars regarding cultural diversity specially if she works such kind of industry.

- Terry (1/5): INCOMPETENCE REIGNS SUPREME HERE. - We did not occupy the room. Made another reservation at a different motel. A LOT. ARRIVED AFTER THE 4PM CHECK IN TIME, THE ROOM WAS NOT READY. THE DESK CLERK EXPLAINED SHE WOULD FIND A HOUSEKEEPER TO CLEAN THE ROOM AND LEFT. I WAITED IN MY CAR EASILY VISIBLE FROM INSIDE THE LOBBY. I FINALLY WENT IN AND ASKED ABOUT THE ROOM. SHE EXPLAINED IT WAS NOT HER JOB TO CONTACT ME. SHE EXPLAINED SHE WAS ABLE TO FIND US A ROOM...NOT GOOD, IT SMELLED OF SMOKE. THE PATIO HAD NO CHAIRS, AND NO CHAIRS AVAILABLE IN THE ROOM. THE SLIDER DOOR SCREEN WAS OFF THE TRACK. THE WIFI DID NOT WORK SO I CALLED THE DESK. SHE INSISTED IT WAS THEIR POLICY WE CALL THEIR SUPPLIER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. CALLED, SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO WAS NOT SURE HOW TO HELP THEN LEFT ME ON HOLD FOR 15 MINUTES, I DID HANG UP. THE MANAGER REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH US. I LEFT, TELLING THE DESK PERSON TO GIVE US A REFUND. NONE HAS ARRIVED.. THE WHOLE FACILITY IS SECOND RATE. NOT UP TO BW+ STANDARDS.

- Donald (6/5): - Booked the room expecting a Hot Tub and a Pool. Hot Tub was out of order, and the pool had a "Filter" issue so it was closed as well. The room was decent, but the bathroom door would not close properly and the Room's main door would have trouble latching. A neighbor slammed their door and made our door pop open. I am just grateful I was in the room at the time. Our key cards deprogrammed themselves no less than 4 times - including twice on day one. I could have saved money on a "cheaper" place but thought this would have everything I was looking for. Nope.

If you require good wifi, my only recommendation would be to ask to stay on anofher floor. Overall very happy with our stay and would visit again.

No generator backup meant no refrigeration, no lights, not able to use a needed sleep device, no air etc. Power came back on at 3:30 am with all the lights and clocks on. Exterior doors were flimsy, could see light around the entire frame and hear everything outside. Room was very clean and breakfast had a lot of options.

- Jack (8/5): - Can’t really give a complete review on this place. We checked in near midnight after 9 hours of planes/airports followed by a 7 hour drive to get here. But we slept really good and the beds were comfy. The continental breakfast was very good with lots of options including bacon!

- Korina (6/5): - The rate is a little higher than I’d expect for this basic quality of a property, but there are limited options in the area. If you want to see the redwoods or just in the area, it’s a clean quiet place to crash. The staff is all very friendly and they have a decent breakfast. The hot tub was out of commission while I was here.

They were in different buildings and office staff was upset with my request, even though it was approved by the hotel in an email. Unpleasant check in experience.

I was not going to venture outside after dark. A/C unit was very noisy. Breakfast was pretty good. However I would not stay there again because of how unsafe I felt.

- Anthony (8/5): The best in Garberville - It's the best lodging in Garberville. The room was clean and they finally got the pool opened again. Severely overpriced, but options in Garberville are limited. Also, our second floor room was invaded by ants overnight. It took quite a while to get them out of our possessions. Unfortunately the woman at the front desk showed no interest or concern for this issue.

- Jean (10/5): - Very nice lady at the front desk. She gave me restaurant recommendations and showed me a menu from the one she highly recommended. The room was very nice, clean and overlooked the pool area. Great place to stay. I can’t say much for the town though—quite run down!
- Jillian (7/5): Great location, shame about the breakfast. - Nice big room, ideally situated for the Avenue of the Giants. Shortage of food at breakfast: no yoghurt, pancakes mix ran out. I felt that I was charged for the pool even though it was way too early in the season to use it and the whirlpool spa was out of use.
- Ellen (6/5): Pleasant - Breakfast was OK. The second day the food seemed to be left over from the first. Staff seemed not able to work together. We were charged two separate rates for two exactly same rooms.

- tx300aac (4/5): Not the best motel - My family stayed here recently and can’t say much good. When we arrived their was a homeless man walking around the parking lot and the next morning he was sleeping by the vending machines. We had ants in our room and bathroom. The room was clean however. The pancake machine didn’t Watkins and the Orange juice was watered down. This is an older motel that should not be a “plus” since it has outside corridors. This was one of the more expensive motels in town. Ye not up to par.

- Mark (6/5): - My only issue was checking in- the office was closed at 7:20pm, had to wait 20 minutes for someone to arrive. Normally this wouldn’t be that much of an issue, but after traveling all day, and having a reservation, I was really annoyed. Room was clean, staff was friendly (once they arrived). Hot tub was closed which was a little annoying as well. Ok overall, not great.

- Albert (2/5): - There is an open-air Head Banger club across the street that goes to 1:30 in the morning. Constant heavy bass sounds were very disruptive to sleep. Except for one Mexican restaurant, it's pretty much a ghost town now. Sorry I did not drive the extra hour to another location.
- Roberta (8/5): Overall, it was a very nice stay - as usual! Except for the hot water issue! - The breakfast was wonderful. And the server was so nice! We love this place! This is not really the fault of the hotel. But, when I went to take a shower in the morning, there was no hot water! Something happened during the night that shut off the hot water. My husband got a hot bath the night before, but I did not get my shower in the morning. It's funny, now! But I felt better to find out that it happened to the entire hotel and not just to my room! We LOVE Garberville and visit often. And we love best Western Plus!
- Annika (6/5): - We stayed in Garberville because it’s the closest town to The Avenue of the Giants. I don’t think there are many options in this town, let alone in early May when we stayed there. I think for the options available, it was good, but a bit pricey (we paid over $300 per night) given the fact that the balconies on the third floor seem like they are not structurally sound and the pool was closed when we were there. The room was really musty, but clean.
