Guest Reviews
- Russ (6/5): - ,
- Lesley (6/5): - The bed linen, towels and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. Got a good nights sleep, t was quiet and the area felt safe.plenty hot water.
The fixtures and fittings were very tired, the sink taps loose. You get what you pay for but if you're just looking for a place to sleep on a road trip it works.
- Charles (4/5): - The pool was completely filled in and of course will never be used again. There was no breakfast or food or coffee in the room. Bed was hard as a rock and trash bags are on the walkway to the room. Typical worker/proach motel. How this place got an 8 out of 10 I'll never understand.
- Alford (10/5): - Nice property rooms are very clean hotel staff very sweet
- charles (10/5): - Everything
- Steven (10/5): - The clean rooms
- Steven (8/5): - Clean rooms And the friendly staff
- Mindy (10/5): - Very quiet.. large rooms
- Tara (10/5): - Great customer service! When above and beyond to meet our needs thank you.
- Nazario (6/5): - The best least expensive place.
- Courtney (10/5): - Good stay
- Louis (10/5): - I would stay here again.
- Christian (8/5): - Did the trick. Would stay again given the circumstances, but would not leave anything valuable in my vehicle. Toilet did not function in room
- Katie (10/5): - I like that the staff is understanding and tries to work with people with certain circumstances.
- Melissa (6/5): Read all reviews - Read the reviews. We had to jump suddenly and I just booked. Boy was it a mistake. I doordashed a bottle of bleach and went to town on our room and ordered candles. Then the toilets don’t work. The maid told us to use our fingers to fix the toilet. Ummm no thanks. It’s not a good area. Definitely outdated. But I will say the ladies at the desk were very helpful. She even let me check other rooms but all the toilets didn’t work. Towels where did you disgusting brown. It’s was bad. They would not refund us so we made the best of it but never again will I not read reviews.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Adequate but not something to write home about - This is an average 2-star motel. Probably newer owners. My reservation was not followed thru with but the front desk clerk persevered after 30 minutes of talking with someone on the phone. Room was clean and probably newly painted but just average. Slight smoke odor in a no-smoking room (bad people not bad owner!). No hairdryer. Less than average furniture.... some missing. Bed was OK so it worked for me for an overnight stay.
- Kelcie (2/5): - Arrived and our room was not clean. We were then moved to another room which the toilet didn’t work. After a cockroach crawled on my husband we checked out early. Do not recommend.
- Donald (2/5): Need new management. - Was forced to pay for a night even thought I didn’t stay!! Was refused a refund because the app glitched and changed the date.
- Toya (10/5): - The rooms need to be remodeled but the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.
- Brittany (10/5): - It was ok to lay your head for night I will not lie the smell was kind of bad I had to switch rooms 3 different times due to dirtiness and the smell. One room had dressers torn up and was clean , the next room had roachs and found drugs in it the next room was kind of ok. Honestly I don't think I would ever rent again from them but if you just need to lay your head and sleep for the night put toilet paper in your ears cause the roaches
- Frank (10/5): - Great place for the one night stay while travelling
- Jennifer (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Warren (10/5): - I love the fact that it's with In walking distance from a lot of stores.
- Ryan (6/5): - Hotel was relatively empty. Great price and didn't see any bugs but spider webs were in every corner. I've seen worse.
- Gloria (10/5): - Everything was okay just the bed make a little noise and the room was no smoking but smell it like weed
- Rhonda (10/5): - Toilet ran all night, air conditioner did not blow correct. It could have been cleaner.
- Trent (10/5): - I loved my stay over there
- Kayley (2/5): - Dirty ,things did not work ,air conditioner, toilet, just not worth it
- MICHELE (10/5): - Very good
- Franklin (6/5): Mixed - First night check in staff was exceptionally good. Older hotel but for the price was acceptable. AC worked but not heat; weather was barely warm enough not to have to use it. MANY burn marks on tub and sheets in "non-smoking" room. Only two towels were provided and when I went to exchange the used ones one evening I was told the desk staff could not access replacements and I would only be able to get them the next day by leaving used ones in front of my door. Ridiculous! Also had to change rooms after a plumbing problem upstairs flooded my bathroom and some carpet. No argument over the change, but it would have been nice to have received a call before I arrived late at night to discover it (staff had entered room because fallen plaster was gone when I got there). 2nd room wastebasket hadn't been emptied but otherwise appeared cleaned. Wifi was weak but worked.
- Renata (10/5): - It was quiet at clean
- Marva (10/5): - location was quiet and never stores
- Jesus (4/5): - next tp the store
- Jose (2/5): - My problem was I did my payment by Expedia like 5 hours before to get to the hotel and the lady told me, My payment didnt go thru so I didnt want to argue with her so I payed cash and I spent the night.so the next day I went to talk whit the lady in the morning and form the beginning she acting like she don't know and then I explain to here don't worry I ready talk whit my bank and then she talk me if i came back lather i say no because I got to gettowork
- construction_guy_99 (4/5): weekly price not refundable if your plans change!! - i travel for work and i asked for a weekly rate, pretty good deal. nothing fancy but decent and cheap so i started off happy. 2 days into my stay the contractor i work for changed my plans by sending me to another state (common, goes with the territory...) most places will refund you the difference between regular daily rate and any special weekly price, i do it often and always go back to the places that are fair with my changing schedule. THIS PLACE WILL NOT REFUND ANYTHING. so to make this long story a bit shorter, if your plans need to be flexible, this might not be that great a deal. if you need to crash for a night or two, fair enough but don't do the weekly deal, they don't do refunds!
- stevebesse1 (6/5): GOT WHAT WE PAID FOR - Got a great rate and the room was decent, but it smelled like a bar room. We were only staying overnight, so stuck it out and left the vent fan on in the bathroom to try to pull the smell out. The room did have a microwave and refrigerator, but no coffee maker and all, but two light bulbs were burnt out. I guess, maybe they clean the room in the dark... Not sure, at this point if we will give them another try.
- usflyer (6/5): Room and Rate Shenanigans but OK Property - Booked 5 days in advance through TripAdvisor (actually Booking.com) for a Saturday night rate of $44.99 ($49.17 with tax) for a Deluxe King Non-Smoking. I think 3 things are critical to "overnight" property stays - Location, Sleep, and Shower.
LOCATION: 4/5 for us. This is in a good location near town and many restaurant options. It was a 5 minute walk to the waterfront and the local festival we wanted to attend. Good lighting and seemed safe with some ground cover if you have a pet.
GOOD SLEEP: 4/5 Comfortable bedding and quiet.
SHOWER: 4/5 Normal bathtub shower with shower curtain. A little dark in there but good pressure and hot water.
Other Items:
- Received a call the morning of our reservation asking us if we really still wanted the reservation and if we cared what our room type was, and I said that we will be coming and want our reserved room. Upon arrival, the clerk checked us into a double smoking room, and I had to remind her that wasn't what we reserved. Then when I got back to the room, I see she also upcharged our rate to a higher amount, and while she apologized she couldn't fix it and had to wait for her manager (which was done overnight before we checked out). Just a lot of shadiness going on.
- No charge for pets.
- Our first stay at a Motel6 in years, and I have to say that the room was much nicer than I expected - good desk, big bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, in-wall AC which was not too loud and worked good.
- Room doors and windows are outside and face the parking lot so you can see your car from your window.
- Zero breakfast options.
OVERALL - for what we paid, I was very satisfied but just check those bills!!
- kathrynd588 (4/5): Not Worth It - Stayed here for one night on a road trip with my sister and was disappointed. There is no continental breakfast and the facility looks unclean. The pool water looked great, but the surroundings did not provide adequate seating or any space with lawn chairs and provided ample weeds around the area.
The towels were soft though a bit small and the shower curtain was ripped. We did not receive shampoo/conditioner upon arrival, but water pressure was great and the shower itself sufficed. Half of the lighting in the room did not work, but the television and refrigerator worked (not sure about the microwave). The refrigerator was unclean. Air conditioning unit worked very well.
Staff upon arrival was polite and helpful, though perhaps could use some additional staff on duty.
- 617jamib (2/5): Disappointed - Room was "decent."Balcony and walkways were overflowing with trash and very dirty. Good thing Waffle House is nearby because the continental breakfast was sub-par. Coffee was the only positive part of our stay.
- Deedrahsue (10/5): Not so much with a view but worth the price - Since no one stays in their hotel, usually, let me say these are clean, and for the price I was thrilled. Staff was so nice, front desk was a pleasant woman. Breakfast is more than bagel. From 5am-9am they serve cereal, muffins, strudel, bagel, yogurt, fresh fruit, apple juice, orange juice, and coffee. Plenty of other things to drink, including a waffle and a very cute cafe style area to eat it. Our room was number 200 and my room had a microwave and a fridge, larger than a mini fridge. I could hold 2 1gallon jug of water, wine cokes and it had a small freezer. Clean rooms, great service.
- momomtx (8/5): Everyone was so friendly and helpful! - We stayed here just one night in March of 2015 on our drive to Florida (I wanted to try and catch some of the Landry's in Pierre Part...didn't happen). Everyone was so helpful and friendly, recommended restaurants and things to see in the area. We had a comfortable room, plenty to eat in the morning to satisfy both me and my husband. Looking forward to staying again in a couple weeks...maybe we'll have a better chance at glimpsing some of the "Swamp People" during gator season! Choot'em!
- lindsays964 (6/5): Decent For The Price - The room and breakfast were fine, but the staff couldn't seem to figure out how to handle checking us in with a pre-paid reservation. Our card ended up getting charged twice, and I'm still working on getting that fixed.
- 675johnnys (6/5): It was ok - If Best Western is doing a promotion it is an ok place to stay. If the promotion is not a good one you may want to stay elsewhere. The people or nice but the place is not as nice as other Best Western.
- easytalker1962 (6/5): Average - Small size room. Somewhat of a musky smell in the room. Average hotel. Pool was not nice with rust on the gates. Continental breakfast was good with more room needed. Family enjoyed the time spent there. Staff friendly and helpful. Would prefer not to stay there again with another hotel is available.
- stokermp (8/5): Riding the Southern tier on a tandem - We were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk. She upgraded us to a very nice studio room on the first floor. The room was clean with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Go bed and sheets. Wfi was good. Brkfst was the usual. Gd coffee. Laundry available.
- tomcV204UH (6/5): Needs Work - The hotel room was relatively clean and bedding was very clean. Room smelled like it had been smoked in for a long time and tried to cover the smell with some sort of heavy disinfectant. The wall had a number of places that looked like grease on the walls. The room needs to be painted. In addition the toilet continued to run. It should be checked and fixed. The room was a suite and very spacious. Everything else worked fine. I was just surprised at the general appearance and smell of the room.
- jamesrN7639UT (6/5): Decent - It was a good place to stay and had a very comfortable bed. There were many restaurants nearby. The staff was most helpful. The staff was up to date on the surrounding area and places to visit. Everyone was so polite and friendly, We would stay again if we ever go that way again.
- M2319NXchristiner (6/5): Our weekend for shrimp Petroleum festival - The room was clean but toilet was broken for 1 1/2 days of our stay. The pool was semi-clean and staff was average. we stay at this hotel every time we go to Morgan City, LA and this was our first unpleasant visit. We have family and Berwick but chose to stay at this hotel for convenience to the Shrimp & Petro festival.
- lucas198139 (8/5): Quite and Peaceful - Stayed on second floor very nice and quite place for a grade A sleep.i would have given this place a five but there is no actual reasturant in hotel but they do give a complementry one some danishs juices and ceareal.Overall one of the nicest and cleaniest rooms i have stayed in at a best western think i willl stay here more often.I recommend this hotel for nice quite sleep, some perks it one block from movie theater, theres a burger king,mc Donalds, taco bell ,kf and a dannies fried chicken amongst several other place walking distance.
- C2645ELamye (10/5): Good stay and always our first choice - Friendly and wonderful staff. Room air conditioning works good when you leave it on all day. Cold at night thankfully. Beds comfortable and staff helpful. Had a little problem with other guests and their noise and the staff was very helpful. Always enjoy staying here.
- EdandDianneM (10/5): One of nicest hotels we've stayed at - The lobby begins by being so inviting and staff is so friendly and helpful. The room was so nice. Nice seating area, beautifully furnished, great bathroom. Very comfortable bed too.
The indoor pool and hot tub are really nice and a very nice exercise room is available too and both open 24 hours/day. The hot breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from.
The entire stay was a very pleasant one and one we hope to repeat.
- 405amandag (8/5): Older hotel, but clean with helpful staff!!! - Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The front desk agent was very helpful, the rooms were clean and accommodating for the price. The hotel was definitely older but the rooms were nice inside. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area!!!
- kathleenw856 (10/5): This is a good place to stay - We arrived tired and grumpy from a long motorcycle trip. If the staff had wanted to get rid of us I wouldn't blame them. However, Treasure and Nicole were so patient with us. They found a way for us to put of bikes in front of the room. When we opened the room door, the room smelled strongly of smoke ( apparently from a heavy smoker in the next room) and we had asked for a no smoking room. Nicole rushed to find us another one and we could park our bikes right outside the door. These ladies were so accommodating that they have earned our future business. We travel a good bit on our bikes and this is a pleasant change from some of the less caring and sometimes rude staff we sometimes meet elsewhere. The room is very clean and the location is very convenient.
- 740chuckg (8/5): Location is Good - I stay at this hotel quite often. Even though it is and older building, the hotel is clean and kept up well. A central location makes day trips easy and quick. Local food is good and not that pricey. I would recommend staying here when passing through the area. Morgan City has some great fishing spots as well.
