- Doug (10/5): - Room was nice
Breakfast and staff were very good Nothing
- Spencer (10/5): - Great place for the location. Staff, hot tub, pool, friendly staff comfortable bed and great bathroom. Nothing, everything was great.
- Thomas (7/5): -
- 74pamn (10/5): great stay! - definitely would stay here again! rooms very clean and beds were comfortable. building was quiet, and front desk staff were very friendly.
- Herb (9/5): Great stay - Clean and friendly No issues
- matthew (10/5): - Good
- Scott (6/5): Close to Badlands National Park entrance. - Breakfast was decent. Staff was super friendly. Room was large and quiet. Parking was right in front of the room. The toilet seat and bathroom counter were too low. Time to upgrade to comfort height for both. Although the room appeared clean it was old and needs a refurbish.
- charlesstuttig (6/5): An average stay for a above average price. - The staff was friendly.
The room and property were clean.
We felt safe at this location.
However, our bathroom in the room was outdated.
The Eggs at breakfast were disappointing.
We felt that the price point for this property was high for what you get.
- Aleah or Gregory (10/5): - Very well taken care of.
- Kathy (10/5): -

- A8401RWmaryb (8/5): Friendliest older motel - We only stopped because we had already driven over 600 miles, and it had excellent reviews. It is a family run establishment , and Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the unit was spotless. The place, however, needs to be updated. The fifties sinks and toilets were clean but too low and old. I also thought the price was too high for a stop over on the way. It was the most expensive stay on the road ever. I will probably venture elsewhere on the way home, especially considering the price.

- Dan (10/5): - Everything, especially the very clean smelling bedding, the very nice breakfast and the hard working young man at the breakfast facility. The icy stairs after the freezing sleet fell overnight.
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Katie (7/5): - The room was clean and comfortable The jacuzzi was disgusting. It made weird noises and it had brown bubbles in it. We didnt notice when we first got in. Then all sudden there was real gross things like bugs and alot of hair and like I said brown bubbles.
- Hargrave (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): We had a great weekend getaway. - There was a welcome note on my bed! The staff were awesome and very informative. The location was perfect for getting an early start into the Badlands.
- Samuel (10/5): Staff were incredibly helpful -
- Sheila (9/5): - Breakfast had a nice selection of food to pick from
Area was clean. Staff was helpful &friendly.
- amasteph (6/5): Good for a night - We stayed at this hotel for a night on our road trip through South Dakota. It was a good stop for our family of 6 (3 queen bed suite), with a decent breakfast that was included. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room had a bit of a musty smell to it which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. You kind of got used to it but it was definitely noticeable walking into the room. For the location to explore the Badlands for a couple of days and there not being many other options this worked for us.
- alauraw2021 (10/5): Friendly staff, yummy breakfast - The staff was super friendly, even left a heart-shaped towel and welcome note on the bed. Everything in the room was spotless. We could have used thicker blankets but made do with what we had. What really wowed us was the breakfast: everything (especially the sausage) was very well made, and the selection of baked goods was great.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Betsy (10/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): - Fantastic breakfast which an array of options with lots of variety and kids got to pick a prize from treasure chest. Staff was extremely friendly and there was a nice outdoor and indoor pool that was nice and clean. Indoor pool was really cold and rooms smelled a little musty
- guenther (7/5): good - n/a n/a
- Soraya (10/5): Close to badlands National Park. -
- Sharon (9/5): Definitely recomend this place. - All Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. Room was comfortable and clean.
- Lewis (8/5): -
- Dennis (10/5): - The breakfast was very nice and typical of what was served before the Covid shut down. Nice to see that at places we stay while traveling again. David was a very delightful person in the breakfast area in the morning we visited.
- Tavis (8/5): It worked for what I needed it for. - Used the hot tub and it was great. The toilet/shower area was a bit small but functional.
- Ara (7/5): Pleasant - Breakfast was good, friendly staff Facilities are old
- Julie (10/5): - Great location.
- Kathy (8/5): -

- Randy (8/5): Clean and comfortable, may need done updates, but good place to stay with close location to Badlands! - Clean rooms and very helpful and polite staff! Enjoyed the outdoor pool and the convenient location. Walls are very thin and people next to us decided to become very loud at 3 am! Disrupted our sleep before an early morning.
- Lawrence (9/5): Great value, nice place, would recommend. - Conveniently located, very clean, great staff. Breakfast got a little crazy/crowded, but the staff quickly adjusted. I think this was an excellent value for the money and would recommend this hotel to others. We ended up sitting in the pool area for breakfast, so it was a little humid in there. But truly, that was the "worst" thing that happened and it really was not bad.
- Seann (10/5): Great place to stay with family! - Clean room, comfortable beds, active and friendly staff, good parking, clean pools and hot tub as well as the pool area. Attentive breakfast staff. A1 Donuts and coffee!
- Darsea (7/5): - Breakfast was plentiful and David the staff was amazing. Slight updating of the rooms could be worked on
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Jessica (6/5): Nice stay. Musty room smell -
- Danielle (8/5): -
- AinSeattle (10/5): 5 Star review to David the breakfast guru - David is the breakfast guru and deserves a 5 star review every time! The breakfast is hot, good and varied. The place is clean, organized and David is so kind and courteous. We highly recommend that if you are going to spend the night in Wall, SD, always pick The Plains Best Western.
- LOGANS311 (10/5): A great place to stay! - Best Western Plains Motel is a MUST STAY place. Accommodations were clean and very comfortable. The motel had the feel of a family operation which we learned through a letter in the room that it is just that. Everyone there was friendly helpful and seemed to really enjoy their work. The location is convenient to everything you want to do in the area and we were able to walk to dinner and the famous Wall Drug. The free morning breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. If you want the feel of a vintage motel with the comfort and service of a much larger hotel, the Best Western Plains Motel is the place to stay.
- Jacob (9/5): -
- Stan (10/5): -
- Patty (9/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Great - Location, staff very friendly
- Jenny1978 (10/5): Well run hotel - clean, comfortable, friendly - We stayed for a couple of nights on a road trip. The location in the center of Wall was ideally placed for exploring the nearby National Parks and sites. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The suite was immaculately clean and tidy. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. A great stay for excellent value. Highly recommended!
- Drew (8/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Great location and facility - Ground floor parking right outside our room, Very good breakfast, super comfy bed, great shower! Comfy clean room, great staff at check-in and checkout! We will stay again Slow sink drain and bathroom door wouldn't close
- Inspire817264 (10/5): Great value and very clean! - We stayed here after our time at Badlands National Park. It was a short drive to the hotel which was nice. Our room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Room was large and had everything we needed. Close to many great places to eat, and Wall Drug store.
- C (9/5): We enjoyed our stay. Close to Wall Drug and Badlands. Again staff was very friendly and accommodating - Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very accommodating
- Michael (8/5): -
- m013ks (10/5): Fun, clean, updated sixties style motel. Outstanding customer service and friendly prices. - Everything is as listed on the hotel website. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Best customer experience I have ever had at a motel. Everything was very clean and in good condition. Would come back again for sure!
- Beatrix (10/5): - Super nettes Personal sowohl am Empfang als auch im Frühstücksbereich
- catherinemX998HI (6/5): Unpleasant experience. Worst stay on our 3 week road trip. Poor across the board. - Not as advertised. Poor value. Odd smell in the room. Very dated. No ice available. Poor quality breakfast options. Please explore other options.
- Jakob (7/5): - Easy and friendly check in. Free breakfast. Comfortable beds. Plentiful parking. Slightly outdated rooms that smelled a little old.
- Stacy (10/5): David made breakfast lovely; the 2 room suite was a nice change and we all slept well. -
- Gerald (9/5): -
- Van Tress (10/5): -
- bgcchick88 (6/5): Glad it wasn't more expensive, but I wouldn't stay again - We were hiking the badlands the following day, so we wanted to stay as close as we could. I'm not sure how this hotel got 4/5 for ratings as I would say it's maybe 3.5 max. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean. But our bathroom was small and dark. The toilet was very low to the ground, and the shower water smelled weird. The walls are thinner it appeared because we could hear our neighbors TV on until late in the evening. The pool was in a different building which was inconvenient, and the hot tub was "working" but had not jets. This was a huge disappointment. If you are not looking to shower or use any amenities, and you just need an inexpensive place to crash, this is a good option.
- Zachary (1/5): -
- Miroslaw (8/5): -
- Stacy (8/5): - Staff was very kind from the front desk to David at breakfast. Convenient to the Badlands.
- Clara (6/5): - Proche du NP Badlands. petit dej correct
- Jason (10/5): - The nicest motel we've ever stayed in. Clean, spacious, and safe. Great customer service. Would stay here again.
- Jerry (10/5): - Everything was excellent. The host David was great. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great as well. The room was very neat and clean. The total staff was EXCELLENT. I liked everything & everyone starting with the check in lady. I think her name was Brenda ?
- Russell (10/5): Super staff and perfect place to stay for a visit to the Badlands - Fabulous breakfast and nice fitness center with quick, easy access to highway and the Badlands National Park Quick easy access to Badlands
- Bob (7/5): -
- Manu (10/5): - .
- Dan (9/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): - A nice, clean, family owned property.
- Oliver (10/5): Great place great value. - Excellent all a round property. Great staff excellent room.
- LeRoy (10/5): - Very nice basic room. Very large clean breakfast area with lots of choices.
- Aaron (8/5): - This was a great stay. Property and room was clean. My room was great, my only complaint as a man of stature was the bathroom. Shower was fine but not a lot of space if you’re sitting down to use the toilet. But I’m also 6’7 and the space would probably be fine for someone of normal height. Also the breakfast buffet was great. Had a nice pancake maker for quick and easy pancakes and a good assortment of other options.
- Hunter (10/5): - Super friendly staff that was willing to help whenever needed
- Roger (8/5): - This is a motel and it is a little aged. I say that first because it is something that I did not expect or realize when booking. Ren who worked to get me and my family situated was excellent, 10 out 10 for her. The rooms here has an initial smell which bothered my nose, Ren told me it was the cleaning product and tried to situate me in other rooms or refund me. I did however settle into a comfortable room. Pool and hot tub seemed great which I did not use. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and had a good variety that my family enjoyed.
- christinasN2408NR (2/5): Aweful - Worst experience ever. We arrived late with no reservation. We were running out of options. Every hotel was booked. The girl at the desk was pleasant and offered her last room which was a family type room (?) She had to show us where it was. We went outside, around the corner to a door that was not locked. Took a hard right up the narrow stairs to our room door that was supposedly secure (nope). Again, in another hallway with two storage closets, and another guests room locked from their side.
Down the hall were two separate bedrooms both with rock hard beds ( I am not exaggerating here ). The room I slept in had another door to a guests room. Again, locked from their side. I could not sleep thinking someone was going to come in either the main door or one of the other room doors. Finally, morning came. I was jolted awake by the slam of the door in my room. I heard a guy say, "there is someone asleep in there". What a night mare. I was so angry. I never went to the desk. I just wanted out of there. Cost $191.03
- Sharon (8/5): - Nice accessible room with large bathroom and walk in shower. Family-owned for 3 generations, really work to keep property nice.
- sharon (8/5): -
- stephf929 (10/5): Great hotel! - It’s an older hotel but the staff were so friendly, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The pool and hot tub were wonderful after driving 600 miles. The shower was better than my own! Breakfast was amazing. Jelly doughnuts? Yes please. And the scrambled eggs were real eggs. The best Best Western I’ve ever stayed at.
- Michelle (6/5): - There are very limited hotels in this little town. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and pretentious. The property overall is very tired
- Tina (10/5): - Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast options, clean pool and spa area, well stocked with towels, walkable to dining and Wall drug store
- Susan (6/5): - Ok place
- Timothy (8/5): - Good value
- Kyle (7/5): -
- Kay (10/5): This motel was clean, comfortable and a great value - The room was well-designed and spacious. Breakfast area was clean and well-stocked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is close to the Badlands and other sightseeing. The property is well-cared for. Add bananas to breakfast and get better donuts.
- Gail (10/5): Wonderful - Excellent.
- Megan (10/5): - This place had the perfect level of service, everything was clean and well taken care of but the service wasn't obtrusive. We enjoyed our stay very much.
