Guest Reviews
- ER (4/5): - The reception was great but the facility is not well-looked after. The rooms were not so clean and the swimming pool was green. The breakfast was below standard and that is being generous. The Milk that was left out for porridge was sour. For the monies paid, I expected more.
- Melanie (8/5): - We we’re a family that stayed over. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. The breakfast was great!
- michael (2/5): Shocked and cancelled. Require a refund - We cancelled our stay on arrival as the establishment was not to our liking. We are still struggling to get our money back as we only booked the night before our arrival. I am shocked by the attitude and that a cancellation policy is used to retain our money.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed and uncomfortable stay - No hot water in the shower, in the morning and evening. Bed was uncomfortable. Communal kitchen is left dirty in the evenings. No free bottled water, but filtered tap water. Poor value for the money paid. Service is unprofessional, with a "do not care" attitude.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My third stay. Beautiful place and outstanding value.
- Bernadette (10/5): Homely - Check in was a breeze. Owners have very tastefully decorated this old farm house. It gives one a feel of being on a farm but with modern amenities. Breakfast was good. Felt very at home. Would highly recommend this establishment
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel on farm - Hotel directions through Expedia took us to wrong guesthouse. Breakfast was great!
- William (10/5): A very relaxed stay. - We really enjoyed our stay here, very relaxed, the manager made us most welcome also made us dinner one evening, very good.
Breakfasts are excellent with lots of choice, bedroom was large also the bathroom in the room we had.
It's in the country a little but this has many aventages, would give it a plus for quietness, you can relax here.
- The Haffenden's (10/5): Loved it! - Accommodation was very comfortable, service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff - loved it.
Definitely going back.
- des (8/5): Quiet, peaceful and restful - Arrived without having booked dinner but was given a great supper anyway. A three course meal, on a cold night. Great food. Electric blanket was most welcome.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect French interior with nice host. - Excellent service, nice interior, calm and quiet.
Fine dinning, fast and guaranteed clearness.
- Gillian (10/5): San de Doorns - A quiet and relaxing place to stay. Brian the Manager greeted us warmly and made us feel most welcome. Gloria showed us around when we arrived and was most professional in her manner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
- Deon (2/5): A picture not always tell the true strory - The overall condition of bed and breakfast venue are very old and run down. We had cold showers with the showers being as slippery as a ice rink. No aircon and TV in room. Furniture very old. Room was clean but lack of basic maintenance needed.
- mr d (8/5): great place to stay - worried that my sat nav did not have the road in its memory I called ahead. was given specific and accurate directions in a call back following my ansafone message. during this call I asked if dinner was available and booked it. the place, an old settlers country house is close (half a km) to the aan de doorns winery. very pleasantly surprised that, despite its country location there was no "bug" problem. bought a couple of beers (honesty system) which I enjoyed on the terrace in an easy chair whilst talking to my wife in England on my mobile phone. four dogs a bit invasive but a firm "shoo" sent them away.
characterful room with tea and coffee, bath shutters to stop morning sun and plenty of light when darkness fell. comfy bed, quality sheets and duvet. slept like a log.
nice dinner - very good value
offered full brekky but opted for toast and coffee.
would stay again - thoroughly recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice staff very friendly and situated in a very pieceful area.
- margaret (10/5): San de doorns - Most pleasant stay.Room comfortable and well furnished. Food good and proprietor very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had a fabulous couple of days at the guesthouse, the host family and their four dogs are super friendly and will look well after you perfectly!
- Diane (8/5): Comfortable stay in a house full of character - We were made most welcome in this lovely old house. Most unusual décor in a house full of character where we allowed to make ourselves at home. Our room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee. The shower (in an old tin tub) was quirky. We were pleased to have the dog accompany us on our walk around the fields.
