• Linda (10/5): - The property was clean and comfortable. The breakfast part of the bed and breakfast did not exist, which we found out when we arrived. We were able to use the kitchen once we went to the grocery and bought the staples we needed for breakfast. Despite that flaw, which should have been made clear when we booked it, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Decent stay - Decent place to stay if visiting the Pictured Rocks area. The room was quite comfortable, and view from the living room window was beautiful. You will share the kitchen and living area with another set of guests, so if you are looking for a private stay, this may not be your choice. It is also not a bed and breakfast -- When Wade greeted us and showed us around, he indicated that he'd be giving us $40 to reimburse us for breakfast since they wouldn't be serving breakfast, but he did not have any cash on him at that time. We never did get that money. The place is a bit worn -- many of the windows are broken and won't open. The main issue while we were there was a very big ant problem. Ants where everywhere in our room and throughout the home. I was able to find some vinegar in a cupboard and that seemed to help a bit. They knew there was an issue because there was a little bottle of ant killer on the kitchen counter. The other issue right now - and this is of no fault of the owners - is that there is construction on a local road requiring a detour. If you are looking to stay close to the main area of Munising, getting there quickly right now is not possible.

• Robert (10/5): - We were given a very large living area with a big window ro see beautiful fall colors and sunsets. Breakfast is not being served, but the amenities more than make up for that.
• Colen (4/5): Very disappointed! - I rarely leave reviews but i feel like this one needed it. The place was very clean but it is a mother in law suite with two bedrooms and you essentially rent 1 bedroom and someone else rents the other. The mother in law doesn't live there but she is the one that checks you in, she does tell you she loves to be in the apartment when it's not rented. It's very personalized with family pictures and the dining table is set with formal place settings, making it uncomfortable and not able to use the table. You have no control over the heat and it was kept very warm day and night making sleeping uncomfortable. They don't serve breakfast, (one reason we stay at bed and breakfasts), she gives restaurant recommendations of places to go for breakfast. We had the upstairs bedroom and would hear the family early in the morning doing laundry and doors closing. Because it was warm we had to open the windows and when the other couple left or came back they walked past our window, waking us up at night. We left a day early and when I informed the owners we were leaving early they simply said ok. Didn't ask why, or if there was anything they could do. It was like they had their money and that's what mattered. We would not return to this bed and breakfast.

If there is one ask…I would say the internet service is super weak and it made it difficult to work…so higher speed would be great!

We were lucky that no one else booked the other room so we had all the space all to ourselves. Our favorite part was sitting in front of the window in the living room just watching the sunset. The whole place was clean and very cozy. Joanne, whom lives on the property, was such a joy to talk to. She was very informative about the area with lots of suggestions of restaurants and places to visit. She made us feel at home. It is just a short drive to downtown Munising and the Pictured Rocks. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area.

• Naomi (10/5): Perfect place for a family getaway - This place was marvelous. We stayed in the Miners Castle Suite and it was perfect for what we wanted. We love the two separate living room areas with the outdoor patio. A home away from home feel. The host is very easy to communicate with and was helpful and friendly.

• Brian (10/5): - The property is beautiful and the view from the Livingroom/dining room is stunning. Wade's MIL is the sweeties woman and gave us many suggestions of places to visit and eat while we were there. The home has all you would want. We will definitely be back!
• Michael (6/5): - Forget "breakfast". This is NOT a bed & breakfast and should be renamed. The only thing offered was coffee and tap water - no ice for a cold drink. We could hear talking and loud footsteps in the host's living space above our bedroom. You are given a 1.5 hour window to check in so be aware of that. On check out morning we were still in our room dressing when the host opened our bedroom door using the code, two hours before check out time! The view was pretty though.
• Vance (10/5): - Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a tour of the property and helpful recommendations on restaurants and things to do. The property was clean and well maintained with a wonderful view of Lake Superior from the backyard. It was conveniently located near Munising Falls and the Sand Point Beach on the Pictured Rock National Park lakeshore. The bathrooms were clean and updated and the kitchen was fully functional. The property has two units, one of which we rented, in the basement of a home. The unit was spacious enough for 6 people (3 queen beds) to sleep with an additional two sofas if needed. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Wade (owner) was very friendly, let us do a late check-in and still showed us around when we got there. The location is nice -- just slightly out of downtown. A simple/easy/short drive to the main area of town. We would absolutely stay here again.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - The view is beautiful and the location is great. The apartment is not very soundproof. You can hear people walking upstairs all the time. It is advertised as a bed and breakfast but they don’t have a breakfast. According to their site breakfast would be provided. It was hard to find a place for breakfast and then it was an extra expense that we hadn’t planned. Also it feels like you’re intruding in someone else’s home because of all the family pictures.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed with the Basement Apartment - My wife and I stayed in the basement apartment option due to covid concerns and were definitely disappointed by our experience. First off, it was not cleaned all that well. The ceiling fan in our bedroom had thick dust on it (must not have been cleaned in months), the microwave was not wiped out, the blender had sticky brown stuff on it, and the shower had soap spilled in it. The oven was also so dirty that when we tried using it the smoke detector was set off. However, I think the most pressing issue is just that the whole space was not “complete”. Windows did not have casing around them, baseboard was missing from the wall, and the screen door for the patio door was broken. The space was also not very secure since the door to our space was just a hollow-core interior door that anyone could access through an unlocked exterior door on the side of their garage. Lastly, the beds were not very comfortable. They all were worn out so that you rolled into the middle of them. Overall, I think the upstairs experience is probably great based on all the reviews I read, but the basement was not a good option. Especially since we paid $300 a night for it.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Oasis in Munising - The location of this property is amazing, and JoAnn makes you feel right at home. I had booked a single room for two nights, but since no one else as staying at the B&B those nights, I was able to have the whole property to myself. JoAnn even told me that I could have a party as long as she was invited. She's a hoot! In addition, JoAnn makes the most amazing breakfast. She asks you what you want to eat and at what time, then she caters to you while telling you fabulous local stories. Lastly, the bed was so comfortable that I ended up sleeping for 14 hours straight.

The Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and surround area was a great place to visit, especially during peak fall foliage.

It was extremely spacious and everything else was perfect. The view from the deck was absolutely stunning. They were very nice and I would highly recommend their place Especially if you’re going to be in Munising. The place is minutes away from all the must see waterfalls and from the pictured rocks cruises. Overall great stay.
• James (10/5): Best accommodations in Munising - Our stay was wonderful!!! The view from the dining/living room area is incredible. When we arrived the owner was very accommodating. He not only even gave us a choice of rooms but said that we could use two of the rooms if we liked the bed in one and the view from another. It is hard to tell from the pictures but the house sits right on the water; making the view spectacular. The owner put out chairs on the deck and my wife and I casually watched the sunset across the lake. The B&B is well-situated; close to several waterfalls and hiking trails. Would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hosts were super friendly and accommodating. Worth every penny we spent there.
