Guest Reviews
- Shamantak (10/5): - Exceptional location, right in front of the beach with sea view from my balcony, and also close to the train station. The room was a good size for a single, very clean. All expected facilities were there, like tea coffee making equipments and new TV on which one can watch online streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime, ITVX etc. The best part of the room was the balcony, with a beautiful sea view. I expected a regular hotel with a reception, but I did not meet any staff in my 2 days stay there. Check-in instructions were sent over WhatsApp, and I had to collect the keys from a lockbox and let myself in.
- KD (9/5): The Lindum 3.night business trip stay. - It was a clean room en suite with a bath which was perfect because I was working in the area and a soak in the bath was ideal, no stand up shower, the taps had a shower pipe and head in the room I was in. Not that I didn't like but there were 80 winding steps to my room, top floor, no lift.
If you are disabled or get out of breath easy check with the hotel before booking to get the lowest floor room as you will struggle after the first/second floor.
- Suzon (9/5): - Vue sur la mer
À 15min à pied de la gare
- Ann (8/5): -
- Boreham (9/5): Stay was great, room had a balcony overlooking the sea and the staff were really friendly. We could - Did not have breakfast. Location was perfect, you could walk to everything. Did not need to use the car once! There was no plug for the bathroom basin, made shaving for my husband difficult
- Paul (9/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): - The hotel was very clean and in a excellent location. The 2 lady's were very friendly and went above and beyond which made our stay very enjoyable. We will definitely be going back
- Daniela (8/5): - Nice room, a bath! Excellent location.
- Erica (7/5): Clean and comfortable, lovely staff and great view! - Great view. Easy to find. One minute to the beach. Friendly staff. No lift. 3 flights of stairs. Not great for someone with accessibility issues.
- Joanne (9/5): - Nice clean room with a lovely view. The manager was friendly and helpful. Would have preferred a shower rather than a bath
- Hannah (10/5): - Very clean and a beautiful view, we had the top floor with balcony, just perfect. I liked everything.
- Simon (8/5): -
- Rob (9/5): Great place - highly recommended - Comfortable, convenient location, accommodating, and friendly. Wonderful hot shower and great bed. Unfortunately, no elevator.
- Matthew (7/5): - Small and simple room that was clean and with a good view.
- Tracy (8/5): Great location, clean and comfortable - Lovely location, clean and comfortable room with a fantastic sea view. Very friendly staff.
- chelsea (10/5): We will be coming back - Everything Nothing
- Martin (5/5): Shower didn’t work - Clean
- David (8/5): Comfy bed and pillows but dated room, tea coffee kettle in room good , room was quiet good bed - Location Lack of shower screen/ curtain
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Gringo (8/5): Clean room, pleasant stay. Shame about noisy neighbours in next room. - Sea view was good, room was clean. The picture above is incorrect as I stayed in a single room. Unfortunately the neighbours that were in a double, were a bit loud during what was meant to be the quiet period as asked for in the accommodation terms.
- Elena (3/5): Not worth £60. Wouldn't recommend booking - no customer service once you've paid! - Good location
The staff was lovely The room smelled of cigarettes.
The shower dripped all night
The decorating wasn't finished in the room
There was a HUGE bubbling damp patch on the wall
The TV didn't work
No central heating, just a little portable heater
Tried to request a partial refund as I don't feel that the room was worth the £60 asked (that's a pretty standard price for a small single in Hastings this time of year) but haven't heard anything yet.
EDITED 28 FEBRUARY
I have now chased a refund 3 times and haven't heard anything. Would strongly recommend not booking

- Paul (8/5): - Lovely and clean. Very nice lady who helps run the hotel. Close to shops and beach. Sunrise from your balcony. Nothing was a nice stay
- Ruthanne34 (9/5): -
- Lucy (8/5): - The location was great and the room was very clean. It is pretty noisy, not the hotels fault but consider how close to the sea ou on a windy day. Also if you have any reduced mobility consider carefully the fac that there is no lift and the top floor is up 4 flights of spiral staircases. Again they are honest about this
- Maria Cristina (10/5): -
- Greenwood (9/5): -
- Benjamin Yuxuan (8/5): Exceeded expectations - Great location. Clean room. Helpful staff. The door was a bit hard to lock.
- denis (10/5): great place and host - we stayed at the lindum..lovely lady..great room superb location..will visit again mr d harris n/a
- Paula (10/5): Great place in a lovely town, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. - The hotel is right in the centre of things , directly opposite the beach and close to bus stops and the train station. The two ladies running it were so friendly and welcoming. It was a real gem of a place. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Christina (10/5): Very welcoming and would stay again. - Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room was clean and had everything that was advertised in the room.
Had a good night sleep.
- Helena (8/5): -
- neil (8/5): - Clean and nice location No shower. Balcony doors drafty. Loose cold tap. Very tight between fire door and room door.
- Cassie (8/5): Lovely stay in a great location. Helpful staff and spotlessly clean room - Lovely stay. Room was very clean and had all the amenities you need- kettle, hairdryer etc. the sea view is stunning, such a great location for the beach and old town It’s an old building which understandably cannot have a lift. Potentially difficult for people with mobility issues
- Tim (8/5): Great location and an excellent room. - Perfect location midway between Hastings Contemporary and White Rock Theatre, my two destinations. Also convenient for the railway station and bus stops. n my next visit to Hastings, I might prefer somewhere that offers breakfast.
- Andrei (10/5): -
- Martin (7/5): Ok for location - Location, and cleanliness. Room smaller than expected. Bed a bit uncomfortable.
- Nik (4/5): You get what you pay for - Good location. Leaking shower making noise, the damp all over the bedroom wall, the paper-thin blanket provided as bed linen in December. Too cold to sleep.
- Burgess (5/5): -
- Benjamin (1/5): - The view and facilities were nice, it was clean. The woman running it was lovely but didn't speak English, requiring her to phone a translator to ask questions. The balcony door had a huge gap that let the wind and rain in, making it very loud and damp, the room was freezing. I did not stay overnight and left early.
- Kirsten (7/5): Central location - Very central location, close to good cafes, clean, reasonable value. There was no temperature control on the heating, and no heater in the bathroom. Because of the location, there was a bit of noise from the street.
- Gary (9/5): - Done the job .
Clean and comfortable.
- Catherine (7/5): - Lovely comfy bed and deep bath, balcony, sea view, new carpet, cleanliness Traffic noise on the first floor at the front from the busy road - I was woken several times by sirens.
It would have been good to have some kind of breakfast option.
The light switch by the bedroom door didn't work.
- Tim (7/5): -
- SUZANNA (10/5): - the room was lovely great view fantastic price
- andrew (8/5): Good value for exceptional Hastings seafront location - Our stay was made memorable by an upgrade to a room with a sea view.
Hastings turned out to be a great location for an out-of-season short break No complaints
- Sally (6/5): Good value, basic. - Great location. Comfy room with nice bathroom. TV worked. Bedside lights and convenient power sockets. Seaview was disappointing - a concrete parapet over which you could see a strip of sea. A lot of stairs to reach my room (4th floor). Teabags were stale, and no biscuits.
- Lord Alan Collins (9/5): - Needs decorating apart from that perfect
- Marion (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Aanrader - Vriendelijk personeel, we hadden een kamer op de hoogste verdieping en we hadden een heerlijk zicht.
- Greenwood (9/5): -
- renata (8/5): -
- Jaime (10/5): -
- Roberts (8/5): Comfortable and pleasant. - The room was very clean but a little dated, The view from the top floor was great and the one member of staff i saw was very friendly. The stairs to the top was hard work with luggage.
- Lynda (7/5): Lovely owner who is very helpful and welcoming, great position on the sea front, clean & comfortable - The owner was lovely, very helpful. The room was a small single but very clean and comfortable, on the sea front with a great view out to sea. The TV didn't work, it was late at night, I got in late and all I wanted to do was relax and watch TV before working the next day. The owner was quick to respond and luckily had a spare, however it took time and I was exhausted. It would be good to check that all the facilities are in working order for £75 per night which is not cheap for what was provided. However the owner did allow me to stay until 11.30am the next morning.
- Ellen (8/5): Gute Lage, kann mal lauter sein - Gute Lage an der Promenade, sauber, sehr freundliche Menschen. Nachts kann es mal lauter werden, besonders wenn man gern bei offenem Fenster schläft.
- Angela (10/5): Owner lovely, rooms clean, great price, will definitely stay again - Close to everything , parking underground nearby for £10.70 for 24hrs Nothing to dislike
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Jill (8/5): Great value for money. Better than expected. - Manager friendly and helpful. Given better rooms than expected. Nice sea view. Good value for money. Would be nice to have option for breakfast.
- burak (10/5): -
- Derek (10/5): Perfection - Great location. Clean, tidy room, all the facilities you could need. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Very comfortable bed. Lovely to have balcony. An exceptionally good stay and I can't recommend highly enough The door just before the room door was a bit awkward with a suitcase but that's really splitting hairs and shows how good this place is.
- Roger (8/5): -
- Josephine (8/5): Clean, comfortable, great sea view. - The facade of the hotel looks smart and freshly painted, standing out along the (once grand) row of buildings facing the promenade. Once inside the modest hallway and received by the amicable housekeeper we headed upstairs to find our room (number 5). Our room was a decent size, freshly decorated and carpeted, stylishly presented and clean. The bed was very well presented and comfy and the view over the beach and out to the sea beyond was marvellous. The entrance lobby is quite cramped and the (well-used) winding staircase up to the room needs further attention (fresh paint on the scuffed walls, carpet cleaned or updated).
- Lucky (8/5): - The room was very clean and tidy. There's no lift, my partner counted the stairs and it was 90 steps( our room was on the top floor) 😅
- Bryan (7/5): - Location is right on the sea front, and handy for everything. Staff were very helpful and nice.
Room was comfortable and reasonably priced. Hotel is slightly 'tired', but room was comfortable, and charges reasonable for the accommodation.
- Sean (5/5): cheap - ish , a touch shabby but memorable stay .. i liked it but not everyone’s cup of tea is expect - it’s a guest house with very little front house , or anything else to be honest , but it’s cheap , across the road from the sea and the ladies running the hotel were very pleasant and helpful i was on the top floor … phew .. honestly it’s tired but at the same time has plenty of character
- Frankie (10/5): -
- Guest (7/5): A convenient position. - 2 comfy chairs in the room. Decor Decor a little tired.
- Melanie (10/5): Perfect - Rooms, View, Location, Owner,…
- Daniel (10/5): will be back again - everything not much it Was all amazing
- Paula (10/5): -
- Jytte (9/5): - Dejlig udsigt og beliggenhed i top / utrolig hjælpsom og sød personale ved modtagelse Varmt og meget larm fra måger når vinduet skulle være åbent - lille værelse men det fungerede
- Emma (8/5): Comfortable stay - Lovely clean room and comfortable bed. The staff are very accommodating. Great location. Would have liked bedside lamps as had to get out of bed to turn light off..
- Antony (7/5): old fashioned guest house in an old fashioned seaside town. - location and view excellent. Had room 2, which has a small balcony. Room was very clean and bath option well used. Water pressure meant running a bath was quick Walls between rooms are thin, so next rooms TV easily heard.
- Aurore (10/5): Lovely place - highly recommand - Convinient, welcoming and very kind staff, clean and confortable space It was fine for us - but good to be aware that there are lots of steps to access certain rooms.
- Lucy (9/5): Beautiful little hotel with amazing staff - Amazing location right on the seafront. Staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. Bed was SO comfortable and excellent value for money Everything was great, except a lamp would of been nice! Breakfast would of been nice as an option but definitely didn't ruin our stat. Apart from that, absolutely no complaints
- John (9/5): made to feel at home. - We were on the second floor overlooking the sea. the room was very clean and the staff were excellent and put themselves out to make our stay an enjoyable one.
- Zara (10/5): - Comfortable room
- Terence (6/5): - Location was good close to pubs clubs and restaurants staff were friendly Bed uncomfortable shower only had cold water
- Malcolm (8/5): - Nice comfy room, clean and tidy. Excellent view of the sea. Nothing really
- Göran (7/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): - Lovely staff. Clean and comfortable room with the best view. Great location close to the town centre.
- Russell (10/5): -
- Debra (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing… loved the bath! - Perfect location, lovely lady running the place, clean, basic but for the price it’s all we needed. The stairs☺️so if you’re at the top of building, like we were, there are a lot of stairs, but for us it was fine. But if you have trouble with stairs a heads up.
- Schwabach (8/5): - See view and location
- Pierre Jean (5/5): -
- Neil (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): - A very pleasant stay great communication with the host and staff The stairs after a long day/evening enjoying myself 😃
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff was amazing, room was nice and clean, great value for money.

- Lucy (10/5): Lovely and friendly place - We had a lovely room with a sea view, high ceilings, extremely clean and comfortable , the room we had had a fridge too, very friendly and helpful lady on reception.from.4pm, hotel is just across the road from the promenade, could walk into Hastings old town or St Leonard. I think it's free parking overnight between 8pm and 9am, but we had booked a car parking space nearby via a Parking App. we'll definitely come back and stay again next time we're in the area. Really enjoyed our stay, The sea view also means it overlooks a busy boulevard between hotel and promenade, so could be noisy at times with window open, no breakfast on site but tea/coffee facilities are in the room and could store some bits in the fridge, also walking distance to nice cafés into town.
- Angela (10/5): - Incredible position with balcony facing the sea! In the evening the full moon was shining over the see with a spectacular view. The inside of the room was recently renovated providing all what we needed. Staff very friendly. You can still see it's an old structure, but given the recent adjustments, it's not a problem at all. There is no breakfast option, but there are cafes very close in the area.
- Tony (5/5): Convenient but very basic - Shower barely delivered any water
- Cliff (7/5): OK - good position - several breakfast cafes around corner. - Good position, clean, se view, friendly owner. No breakfast available. No shower curtain or hook.
