- Thierry (10/5): - Petit hôtel convivial et familial. Le patron est adorable et toujours prêt à rendre service. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié qu’on vienne nous chercher au port et nous y ramener pour le retour malgré l’heure matinale, sans supplément. Nous avons également pu louer notre voiture directement à l’hôtel ce qui est une agréable simplicité. Cet hôtel est un super point de chute, pour se rendre à pied au paisible port de Katapola ou rayonner dans cette île encore authentique. Un grand grand merci à toute l’équipe de l’hôtel pour ce séjour inoubliable que nous aurions aimé prolonger.
- florence (10/5): - Excellent séjour à l’amorgion village. Je mets la note de 10+. Que dire d’Alex qui rend votre séjour exceptionnel, vous n’avez plus envie de partir de cet endroit. L’accueil, l’emplacement calme, le petit déjeuner enfin tout est réuni pour passer un excellent séjour. Alex nous a permis en plus de bénéficier d’une superbe chambre avec vue mer. Vous pouvez admirer le coucher du soleil à la piscine. Vous êtes à 15 minutes du centre où l’on trouve d’excellents restaurants. Un grand merci à Grégory qui fait la navette entre le port et l’hôtel. À votre arrivée, vous avez la petite bouteille de l’apéritif local offerte. Si vous êtes à la recherche d’un endroit authentique alors n’hésitez pas à réserver ici.

- Martin (10/5): Outstanding in every way! - When you are met with a serendipity it is hard to find the words to explain how wonderful it is…I guess that’s why it’s a serendipity, because it’s unexpected. This was not just about the location, the peace and quiet of the island, but about the staff who became family! Alexandro’s is the manger and cook and do it all man, Sophia was our wonderful waitress, Grigorios our driver and everything guy and Eleftheria our very sweet housekeeper. To say we fell in love with each of them would be an understatement. Their care for the guests was top knotch and truly had a family feel. Breakfasts on site for a fee was the highlight of every day! The menu is small, but the food is delicious and the coffee was perfection!! Never have we felt more cared for in all of our travels around the world. Amorgian Village was a short ride from Katapoli and about 30 minutes from Aegeali which is where we came in by ferry. Alexandro’s sent a driver who charged 40 euro for the ride to our hotel up steep winding roads… we were grateful for the ride until we figured things out. We were able to rent a car directly from Alexandro’s on site which was definitely a bonus considering our location. There is so much to see on the island we were happy to have a car. Our room was at the back which was so lovely, quiet and private. We had lots of seating options both in and outside our suite. The pool was sparkling clean and a wonderful temperature.

Nous avons été reçus avec sourire par le patron, fort sympathique, qui nous a installés dans une belle chambre spacieuse et nous a donné de bons conseils pour dîner. Nous avons également apprecié la belle piscine et la vue sur la mer.

A car is advisable to see the beautiful ocean views from the mountain highways. Rooms were cozy; AC was serviceable. The breakfast was very good; no other meals are served
- Olivier (10/5): - Tres bon séjour Tout d'abord, l'accueil et la gentillesse de toutes les personnes travaillant à l'hôtel (merci d'avoir contribué à notre séjour à Amorgos) avec un petit cadeau de bienvenue. L'hôtel est situé au calme non loin de Katapola. Les chambres sont propres et suffisamment grandes (il y a même un petit coin cuisine). La literie est très bonne. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et préparé à la demande (le choix est largement suffisant). La piscine, avec transats et parasols, est grande, nettoyée tous les jours , avec une belle vue sur la baie de Katapola. Si nous revenons à Amorgos, ce sera là que nous logerons de nouveau.
- Sébastien (10/5): Super séjour - Excellent séjour. Très bel hôtel. Personnel très sympathique. Très bon emplacement, pas très loin du port à pied. Pour les randonneurs comme nous, le sentier de randonnée pour Chora, puis Aegiali passe devant l'hôtel. Si vous le demandez, on vient vous chercher au port et on vous y ramène lors de votre départ. Très pratique et gratuit.
- Philip (10/5): - My wife and i stayed 3 nights in September. We were picked up at the port by a very cheerful, helpful Appollonius and within minutes at the beautiful hotel. Andreas greeted us at Reception and was super helful and friendly, recommending restaurants and places to go, while our bags magically were moved to the room. we had a big room with a glorious view and balcony. It was perfect. The breakfasts were superb, cooked to order and delicious. The room and hotel areas were cleaned to a very high standard. We were able to hire a car for just one day, one if the hotel's and brand new. The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk down a coutry road then track but was very walkable. The views from the beautiful pool were amazing. What a great hotel and team of staff. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

- donalg704 (10/5): Relaxing 3 day stay in this little gem. - Excellent 3 day stay at this gem of a hotel. Wonderful location about 15min walk outside of katapola. Picked up at port on arrival and returned, when leaving for free. Staff ( especially, Joanna and Andreas) were wonderful - friendly, polite and very efficient. Breakfast and pool area were excellent. Really recommend this hotel for very relaxing time in Amorgos.

Property is in a beautiful setting overlooking the bay and easy to walk to the port. Breakfast was excellent and good value. Lovely clean swimming pool. Overall highly recommend this hotel!

- Dominique (10/5): Serene retreat above the bay of Amorgos - First off, Amorgos is a hidden gem in the Cyclades. We regret only staying 2 days and one night. It deserved more time for sure. The Hotel Amorgion was also a pleasant surprise. The photos don’t do it justice. The rooms are spread out around the property like casitas and each room had a small outdoor space. From the pool area you can see the entire bay. It is serene and feels like a retreat. Our room had a kitchenette and bunk beds for the kids. Among other local items offered to guests, we received sesame and honey bars, small bottles of the local liquor and an array of locally made beauty products. Getting here was easy. We rented a car at the port and arrived in 5 minutes. It’s a 15 minute walk (moderate to steep) or you can use the hotel transportation to and from the port. The staff was SO lovely—very friendly and accommodating. They also serve food and beverages. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the veranda overgrown with bougainvillea. We really can’t say enough about this beautiful place. The sound of the cicadas and the smell of rosemary, honey and lavender in the air was instantly calming. Visit Amorgos and stay at the Amorgion before the secret gets out!

- Thomas (8/5): Le choix parfait pour Amorgos - Bon séjour de 5 nuits dans cet hôtel. La localisation est parfaite pour explorer Amorgos : au calme dans la campagne, un peu à l'écart à 15 min à pied du port. Au départ de chemin de randonnée vers Chora (40 à 60 min de marche) Le petit déjeuner est basique mais correct et très très copieux. Le staff est gentil, toujours là pour aider et agréable. Seul petit souci, le sol de la chambre en carrelage était propre, mais lavé avec un produit très gras qui rendait le sol glissant et huileux, et donc pas très agréable pour marcher pieds nus. Le sol a été nettoyé à ma demande. L'hôtel propose de venir gratuitement vous chercher au port à l'arrivée et de vous y déposer au port au départ.
- novelogue (8/5): Lovely stay in Katapola - We had a lovely stay at the Amorgion. Communication before we arrived was great, and the free transfers to and from the ferry port on our arrival and departure days were really appreciated. The hotel is located a little bit outside the town, which was great because it was very quiet at night and the hotel, especially the pool area, has lovely views. The walk into town is pretty quick, so being a little bit outside the town was no disadvantage at all. The pool area is great, and we also enjoyed the breakfasts by the pool. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff - Konstantinos was really helpful during our stay, and always provided helpful advice. He also helped us organize a taxi to get to the start of our day-long hike, and went above and beyond in helping us call our car rental company when we needed to move our pick-up time (he even took the initiative to ask them to bring the car to the hotel so that we wouldn't have to walk to the car rental office) and then translated for us when there were some issues when we were signing the paperwork with the car rental company. The other staff were also great. The rooms are simple, clean and had what we needed. The only thing that could be improved is that we had booked the one-bedroom apartment and had expected based on the description of the room on the various booking websites that both the main living area (which is where the double bed is) and the small bedroom (which just has a single bed) would have air conditioning, but when we got there, it turned out that only the main living area has air conditioning. It was pretty hot when we were there, so sleeping without air conditioning in the small bedroom was uncomfortable and we couldn't keep the window open in that room as there was no window screen. Keeping the small bedroom door open at night wasn't an option for us, as there were some snorers in our group, but may be fine for those who don't need the bedromo door closed. We asked Konstantinos about this issue, and he was very responsive and helpful, and graciously let me stay in another room for 2 nights of our 4-night stay (as that room was already booked for the other 2 nights) and did not charge me for one of the two nights that I stayed in the other room, which was greatly appreciated. By the second day, they had gone to the town to pick up a window screen and installed it so that we could keep the window open. Unfortunately, it was still pretty hot that week even with the window open, which is why I ended up staying in the other room for a second night. My only suggestion coming out of this is to make it clearer in the description of the room on booking sites and on the hotel website that the small bedroom does not have air conditioning, so that people who really need air conditioning during hot weather would know to book two separate rooms instead of booking the one-bedroom apartment. Other than this issue, which Konstantinos handled really well, we had a wonderful stay at Amorgion and would definitely recommend it!
- karenhoughton12 (10/5): Can’t recommend enough - a beautiful and peaceful hotel, with excellent service and attention to detail. - We enjoyed a few wonderful days at Amorgion Hotel where the excellent service began well before we arrived, with Konstantinos emailing about our arrival and pick up etc. Sure enough the lovely George was there waiting patiently at the harbour with a warm smile, ready to whisk us to the hotel with helpful hints along the short journey for our stay. We could not quite believe our eyes when we arrived, including the fact that we had been upgraded to a sea view (and what a view!) room. Konstantinos could not have been more kind, generous, helpful and professional at our check in and throughout our stay. We realised on day 2 that we had booked our departure from the wrong port and he even managed to solve that for us, saving us considerable money and time! Both he and George are a credit to the Amorgion brand. We had planned to hike all 3 days we were there but such is the lure of the hotel and pool area that we changed our plans to enjoy it’s peace, beauty and tranquility. In terms of location it is about 10 minutes walk to the harbour (Katapola) where there are loads of bars and good tavernas. There is a wonderful trail (about 3km) that leads you up to the amazingly quaint Chora with its myriad of enchanting alleyways. The bus service is great too if you want to go farther afield. We really cannot recommend Amorgion enough - get booking and enjoy!

- Christopher (10/5): - Are you interested in visiting Paradise? This is it. The moment we arrived at the Amorgion Hotel (from a lovely few days in Santorini) the blood pressure lowered and the vacation truly began. This is such a special place. George the driver picked us up at the port and was so interesting. Konstanos is a lovely host - so attentive and patient and provides a great orientation of the things to do. We followed all of his advice and were not disappointed. The breakfast is great and the property is just perfect - surrounded by plants and flowers with small butterflies. This island has the loveliest small towns, secluded beaches, and fantastic views. Just beware the crazy roads, especially at night - just do it if you're confident in your driving.
- G5951JGmatthewt (10/5): Fab stay at beautiful Amorgion - Stayed at the Amorgion Hotel for a few nights in June as part of a wider tour of the Greek Aegean Islands. When I arrived at the port, I was meet at the port by George from the Amorgion who took me in the hotels minibus to the hotel in the hills above the port. My room was immaculate and beautiful furnished with an easy to use safe for my valuables. The hotel has a beautifully large swimming pool with outstanding views of the mountains surrounding the area with plenty of very comfortable sunbeds to relax on which you could have breakfast, lunch and dinner by for a reasonable price, I had dinner 1 night by the pool, was delicious. The beaches in the area I didn’t find to be great, where rocky, recommend drive or get bus to Aegealis in the north of the island for a nice sandy beach, but this is made up for by the lovely swimming pool. The Island is a walkers paradise, a footpath leads out of the hotel to the left up to the Chora and onto the Panagia Hozoviotissa monastery built into the side of the cliff face, not to be missed. Enjoyed my time here and hope to come back to Amorgos sometime to challenge myself to take on the path from Aegealis to the Panagia Hozoviotissa monastery

- toribraham (10/5): Amorgeon Paradise! - We have just spent 3 nights at the beautiful Amorgeon Hotel. It was the first stop on our honeymoon and it didn’t disappoint! What a stunning setting and the most incredible staff to boot. The view from the rooms and the pool are spectacular and took our breathe away, morning and night. Konstantinos was the most helpful and hospitable manager and made sure we experienced the island to the most in the days we had. His right hand man, “Famous George” was such a laugh and instantly makes you feel at ease. I would recommend Amorgeon Hotel to anyone and we will be back.

- MarkE781 (10/5): Fabulous base for the island - This is a really great place. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The pool was a big bonus, and the staff are a delight. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the charming port, which has many good restaurants. It was a pleasure to walk back in the evening and view the Milky Way in the crystal clear air. I recommend the walk up the hill to Chora if you are reasonably fit and dining at Apospero, the best restaurant on the island. We hired a car and went on many of the marked trails on the island. It’s a lovely island and this is the best hotel to enjoy it from.

- angela_mcs (10/5): 3rd Time Staying at Amorgion Hotel and still Fantastic - My husband and I stayed at Amorgion in July for the third time in 4 years. It was as good as ever - Georgia and her team look after you really well and they are all so pleasant. Breakfast very enjoyable and a few extra items have been added to the snack menu this year which is really handy if you fancy a lazy day at the pool. It is so peaceful and the views are lovely - we love sitting on the balcony relaxing and looking out to the lovely pool area. Although it is a 10 - 15 minute walk to the town I would not let that put you off and you feel very safe walking about. Two of the nights we got a taxi to Chora and back which was €10 round trip. Hopefully we will be back next year and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely relaxing holiday.

On top we could enjoy late check out and free transfers to the port, a nice by-the-pool menu for reasonable prices and the best Frappe around:) thanks to Georgia and her crew!
- Moniaits (8/5): Pleasant, good breakfast, excellent service - Located fifteen minutes walk from the port of Katapola, on a hill. Spacious rooms. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. There is no restaurant so one has to go to town for dinner, but the walk, although up hill on the return, is pleasant, especially if you make friends with the donkeys just down the hill. Unfortunately it was very windy for the whole of our stay here, and thus we were unable to use the pool and enjoy the outdoors. Extremely friendly personnel.

- Yiorgnik (8/5): Very good choice - I may found myself feeling a bit disappointed while being taken to the hotel ( because the road leading to the hotel was not in very good condition and it seemed to be a bit secluded) but our overall stay there surely compensated us! The staff was very friendly (both the reception and the transfer driver )and extremely helpful with some mishaps we experienced. The room was in very good condition, spotlessly clean and quite spacious. Although some improvements should be made to the garden our room had a view of I would highly recommend the place for a pleasant stay!

Service is great, rooms clean with all we needed, good tips onlocal restaurants and things to see... walking is 10’ to port and restaurants. Let Georgia take care of your car rental, good price and service. When again in Amorgos, will go back to Amorgion.

- Willapp (10/5): A truly wonderful hotel - My friend and I have just (sadly) returned from a fantastic few days on Amorgos, including the last two nights staying at the Amorgion Hotel. After 3 great nights at the Yperia in Egiali, we worried that our stay in Katapola would disappoint, but the Amorgion was even better! The only (very minor) negative is the walk from the harbour is a bit longer than you might expect: a good 10-15 minutes and mostly uphill. It's also not well lit at night so a torch is a must if returning late. We were on a walking holiday though, so it wasn't such a problem but is sweaty work in the heat of a summer day. Everything else though is near perfect. Georgia, the hotel manager, greeted us with a warm smile on arrival and showed us to a lovely family room. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning good, and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The pool area is a real star attraction: good size, with a spacious area around for plenty of sun loungers without feeling cramped. It can be a bit windy due to the hillside location, but the breeze is most welcome on a hot day, and the views are superb. We skipped the hotel breakfast on our first morning as they don't start serving until 8:30 am and we wanted an early start to explore the island by car. This turned out to be a real shame, as we enjoyed a superb breakfast the second day for just 8€ each: coffee, orange, bread, yoghurt, honey, plus omelettes or fried eggs if you want. We really couldn't fault the hotel, and the long-ish walk is a worthwhile trade-off for having great views and a peaceful location. We hope to return one day!

- pegasusSydney (10/5): Hotel with vuews and pool - This lovely hotel is on the edge of Katapola on an elevation that overlooks the bay of Katapola and wonderful sunsets. Rooms are moderately large and well appointed. Good wifi. Great pool area tho very exposed to the elements. Breakfast is nice with fresh orange juice and creamy yoghurt among other things. There is no restaurant apart from minimal poolside snacks so you need to go out for lunch/dinner. Katapola is a 10-15 min easy walk and i would recommend the restaurants on the northern side of the bay (opposite end to the ferry side). The main town of Chora is worth visiting with its cobblestoned lanes dotted with restaurants and funky cafes. You can walk there ( 1 hr uphill on a rocky path - recommended if you are reasonably fit) or take a taxi 10 euro. Dont miss visiting the monastery! The hotel staff will pick you up from the ferry terminal if you let them know in advance. Recommended.

The room was good but the shower small. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Also you get free pick up and drop off from Katapola harbour.
