Guest Reviews
- Mihael (9/5): - Breakfast Cleanliness
- Catherine (8/5): Well priced and a pleasant stay - Great breakfast. Convenient for the hospital. Had twin beds which were extremely narrow - not full size singles
- Anna (8/5): Simple hotel with friendly staff - Great location and really friendly staff It’s an old uni halls of residence so is very basic and the walls are exceptionally thin! But it is half the price of the hotel associated with the conference centre so this is to be expected!
- Kym (5/5): - breakfast was delightful, one of the best i have had.
room basic single beds next to each other very close, good job i was not sharing a room, very hot through the night. not the best to be situated next to the cleaning room and toilets.
- Monjurul (4/5): Disappointing - Inside uni campus Check in was the biggest issue. Bed was not comfortable and split in middle separated in middle of the night. There was no drinking water in the room nor could I buy from somewhere nearby.
- James (10/5): - Very clean room, excellent shower and useful tea and coffee making facilities. N/A
- Kristjan (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Tranquil and comfy, very conveniently placed on bus route from New Street. - Lovely and peaceful
Lift to room
Easy access to bus route and train line
Staff very helpful and efficient
Good breakfast
Ask about discount voucher for entry to Winterbourne Gardens over the road (a lovely oasis to spend time in) Shower was a little temperamental i.e. hot then cool, but powerful and easy enough to adjust. Tight squeeze between bed and desk chair.
- Sarah (5/5): Average - Staff were lovely.
Good check-in experience
Room was clean
Good choice of breakfast Room very dated
Poor sound proofing
Bed not particularly comfortable - dipped in the middle where the 2 single beds joined together
- Jumma (10/5): Amazing - Everythings
- Winsheena (10/5): Comfortable , clean and beautiful stay - The room was on the ground floor which was perfect location and in walking distance to breakfast at the Edgbastion hotel . The room was incredibly clean and comfortable- it had everything you needed x staff were friendly and so helpful . The facilities are clean and it felt like I was on holiday !

- Kevin (9/5): Very clean, great size suite, good value - Great location for visiting son at uni Only thing that was negative was only having 1 key to the room.
- Tony (8/5): - Good location and quiet. A little worn and lacked some basics like water glasses.

- Peter (7/5): Peter Scott house - excellent value and location. - Peter Scott house is perfect for my needs IE easy access to the city and near to Winterbourne House. Breakfast in the hotel was very good with plenty of choice and friendly staff. Just slightly run down but still good. Could do with more care regarding refreshments in the room.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Comfy quiet accommodation in a good location for us Water pressure and temperature were hit and miss and the heated towel rail was permanently on making the room very hot in summer. Nowhere to easily get more tea and milk etc
- Cinnamon (8/5): 3 night srayvatvpeter Scott hiuse - Great breakfast and lovely staff. Free parking was grea too Unfortunately we had a toenail clipping on our bedroom floor, which made me feel a little queasy 🤢
It was just an oversight, very easily missed and everything else was clean.
The bathroom was on the small side.
Breakfast was over the road, as was the parking, which was okay
- Emeline (7/5): -
- Susan (9/5): - Had everything I needed The shower surged hot, then cold, then hot again every 20 seconds
- Kenneth (7/5): - Overall mostly fine. Insufficient towels for 2 people.
Insufficient coffee & tea sachets for 2 people.
No glasses, only mugs.

- Debbie (10/5): Pleasant - Evening meal and breakfast were very good indeed.
- Anne (10/5): Great stay, would recommend. - Great room, well located for a conference at the University. Stunning grounds, comfortable bed, clean room. Would highly recommend. The concierge staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The central ceiling light could have been a bright brighter but apart from that nothing!

- John (8/5): Enjoying and challenging! - Peter Scott House is in a quiet location, the room was comfortable although working there was a little cramped. The breakfast was in the main hotel and very adequate. On the days it rained one needed to wrap up well since the breakfast was served in the main hotel, a few minutes walk away.
- Sharrock (9/5): Good location and good quality - Good quality accommodation and very useful for university work. WiFi not really good enough for work of university level.
- Svetlana (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): - Very convenient location. Room has everything you need. Functional and good value
- SNaal (8/5): Overall very good - Breakfast ans bed Room was a bit dusty

- Alexander (3/5): - Not far from the town centre, bus right outside The room was awful, not cleaned properly. Cracked tiles, hairs , walls . Was really disappointing
- Pauline (8/5): -
- Jill (10/5): Excellent all around - I had booked in the Peter Scott house but it was being renovated so I was moved to Edgbaston conference Centre. It was So clean, very modern, comfortable beds, nice breakfast. Nothing
- rachel (10/5): -
- Joanna (6/5): -
- WillandCherry2017 (7/5): Decent value stay - Conveniently located and easy to access with parking When housekeeping cleaned our room they should have replaced our used cups with clean ones and also on our second night the lift wasn't working so I had to carry heavy luggage down stairs which wasn't convenient.
- Lynn (8/5): -
- Tradewell (8/5): - Nice location, quiet setting, good value. Confusing parking.
- Garland (5/5): - The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was very basic, bed uncomfortable and hotter than hell! Not a good night's sleep at all 💤🙃🙃
- Rhona (9/5): Great location for the university - The property is in a great location close to Birmingham University campus. The breakfast across the road in the Edgbaston Park Hotel was fantastic, lots of variety and good quality and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are a little dated but comfortable , fine for a night’s stay.
- Katharina (8/5): -
- Bernie (7/5): -
- Judy (8/5): Very happy and if I needed to would definitely stay there again. Location was great for my needs - Very clean airy room. Bed exceptionally comfortable.
Quiet and dark so had a very good night's sleep
Selection of Tea and coffee available Strange to have reception and dining in separate building but very nearby so not an issue for me
Dining selection could have been more interesting
- Keith (8/5): Great location, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. - Convenient clean and comfortable Nothing. For me it was fine.
- Gordon (9/5): Very clean and comfortable rooms, quiet and convenient location. Excellent! - Very clean and comfortable rooms, and a quiet location. I have stayed several times and it has always been exactly what I need.
- Flávia (3/5): Muito mofo nos quartos térreos. - Funcionários prestativos. Não pudemos ficar no hotel por conta do mofo nos quartos. Mas os funcionários foram prestativos e nos realocaram no hotel mais novo.
- Alice (8/5): - View of the running track and the proximity to my work. The room was warm and peaceful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff all very friendly. The shower tray was rather rusty and the mixer for the shower didn't work well. Sporadically it split into jets of very hot water and jets of cold. Not good. I reported this to reception.
- Stephen (8/5): Would definitely stay again in another room. - Nice location. Room clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. The room had a pant room next door and there was quite a loud noise some of the time.
- Minjie (8/5): - Convenient location on campus, comfortable mattress, and all essentials provided The price is quite high, and the shower tray is not always consistently clean and free from blockage (six out of eight times the drain was blocked)
- Mike (8/5): -
- Gary (10/5): -
- Sara (8/5): -
- Alfie (10/5): -
- Stéphane (10/5): Séjour très agréable - Calme propre très accueillant
- Ian (7/5): Okay - The room was clean and quiet with tea and coffee making facilities. Purely functional for one night. The parking was in the main university hotel across a road, so I had to carry my stuff to the room across a busy road. The location felt quite isolated from the main campus hotel, which was buzzing. This location had no onsite reception or security staff. The key system was old fashioned and you had the same key for front and room door and you had to lock the room door manually. The shower tray was stained and melted in places and the bathrooms felt a bit tired and dated.
- Gagari (8/5): - Location, ambience While booking I was not told that the reception desk will be in Edgbaston Park hotel and breakfast will be served there. I came to know only after booking. That should have been mentioned earlier.
- Alexander (8/5): -
- Claire (6/5): Clean reasonable very basic - Convenient Very dated bathroom and bedroom
- Derek (8/5): Really happy but spoiled it a bit with the noises boiler next door - Location great , cost great , Noise from the boiler room was very annoying and kept my wife up until 5 in the morning
- Kathryn (6/5): Good enough for 1 night and very convenient location - Great location for Uni visit Bathroom was very old and tired and quite smelly
- Amandeep (5/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Perfectly pleasant - The bed was comfortable; the room was clean; there was a wardrobe and an iron and ironing board were in the room already. There were extra cushions to hand too. I'd paid for breakfast at the main hotel and it was very good indeed with very friendly staff. (Plenty of vegetarian options and smoked salmon too.) Peter Scott House is a little way down the road from the main hotel and there aren't many places to eat in the evening in the immediate vicinity (I walked to Harborne which is an easy 20ish minutes.). A microwave available to guests would be really welcome. Also, the double bed is two beds tied together. (The last time I stayed they weren't tied together so it was more comfortable this time as I didn't slip between them during the night.) The step into the shower really is quite high, as other reviews have said, and the water from both shower and loo drain slowly.
- MEAAD SALIM YOUNES (9/5): Unforgettable stay, would definitely come back! - The room was clean, the staff were kind and friendly. Everything was perfect just the WiFi was a little bit slow.
- john (9/5): Was okay , but l like hotel to be in one placed - Breakfast was okay In two sections
- Shaista (10/5): Nice and peaceful no hassle - Clean Everything was perfect
- Giovany (10/5): -
- Karl (8/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): -
- HAO (10/5): Everything is OK. Nothing bad. - Everything is OK. Nothing bad. Everything is OK. Nothing bad.
- Eric (8/5): Great location for the University. - The room was clean and comfortable, but was showing its age a little, especially the bathroom and TV. Perfectly good for business trips, however, where you are not spending much time in the room anyway.
breakfast is served in the newer hotel across the road, which is only a short walk and was a very good buffet-style breakfast.
Very convenient for the University, which is only a few minutes walk away. Bathroom small and looks dated, some of the plastic panelling broken. Functional though.
TV dated, and slow.
Great price
- Chris (8/5): Excellent for a 1 night stay - Good location, quiet TV remote battery flat, but could not replace it (weather was wet, and room some distance from main hotel and reception
