• Ismael A (2/5): - I arrived and they told me the booked was cancelled and I don’t know if they charged me. This is not acceptable I drove 5 hours to get to the place and found out I didn’t have a room booked. I texted Expedia from them I booked the room and told me they did not have nothing booked for me.
• David (10/5): - I took the train and walked so no need for a parking spot. There were many spots available. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked but my stay was in October so I didn't use that either. Good deal, I will stay there whenever I need to be in Avenel.
• Nestor (6/5): - Off a state highway in NJ, fine if you're driving but if you're taking the NJ transit it's a little tricky to get to. The motel is bare bones and there's a lot of ghetto people that stay there.

• Jam (2/5): - I reserved a room on 7/13 through Expedia checked in the hotel with management showing my reservation online confirmed, after showing my id several times as well. The property manager pretended that he didn't see the reservation. I requested an upgrade on the bed size and was told the amount would be 80.00 for the stay. I stated to the male front desk that I already reserved my stay through Expedia showing my reservation and ask since he was asking for cash payment would I be charged on my card the management stated no I could pay in cash and will not be charged double. I paid the front desk 80.00 in cash management deliberately didn't give me a cash receipt for cash payment, and I was also charged on my card for the amount of the reservation which was paid for in the amount of 86.03. I tried several attempts to contact management even going back to location in request of cash receipt for stay on 7/13 check out 7/14 around 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. no resolution no response.

• Jeff (2/5): Looks nice until further inspection - I checked in late at night and was surprised how nice it was. I went into the bathroom and for soem reason the heat was on which made zero sense it was 100 degree weather. After shutting the AC off to sleep the room became unbearable but at 1am I sucked it up while waking up in a sweat. When checking out I told the owner what happened and he argued with me with full attitude. I was told why didn't I switch rooms at midnight and that they could've solved the issue at that hour. Zero customer service and raising your voice solves nothing. The bed looked nice but was flat. Lucky I'm 170 because any larger person would've sunked right in. I also had a cockroach run across my laptop which made it tough to fall asleep. That morning I noticed blood on the floor and a gross dental pick that was never thrown out. He said it was paint lol. Will add the pic later. The family that owns this needs to learn what customer service is instead of hiding behind their window.
• John (6/5): - Booked a non smoking room, the room I was given smelled of smoke. There were guests loitering around the premises at all hours. I guess you get what you pay for. If you just need somewhere to sleep for the night and don’t mind traffic at all hours then this place might work for you. If you want peace and quiet then no.

And it was a busy season after hotels.com intervened and after driving 2 hours to get there and another hour and a half waiting in the parking lot. They were forced to give me the room
• Wind (2/5): - Very small parking area (like court yard surrounded by rooms) that has garbage everywhere. Some people smoke marijuana right outside my door. Room was not clean and air damp with a window open to street that can not be closed, A/C could not remove the dampness indoor. Definitely not worth the $100 I paid for the room.

• Robert (6/5): A room with no hang-ups! - We chose this motel for price and location convenience, knowing full well that it was Budget with a capital B. The TV, Wi-Fi, heater, Microwave and Fridge worked and the shower was brisk and hot, and the bed was comfortable. The room was small, but so what? We just needed a place to sleep, and there are no complaints. Except this one: There is no place to hang anything up. Not one hook or hanger in the whole place. Want to hang up a coat? Sorry. Lay it on the bed. Your clean clothes for after the shower? Sorry. Lay them on the toilet. It's a mystery. If we ever stay there again, I'll make a mental note to bring a clothes rack...

I am not the type to usually give review for a property but honestly I don’t have a choice to state some of the issues— the mattress is so horrible—deep hole at the center and it wasn’t firm at all. The running tap water was so cold and won’t even regulate in the cold weather and snow outside. The floorboard heater won’t work. Cracks in the bathroom. They need to revamp this place. I would never recommend the place.

To my pleasant surprise, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. Two things they could easily do to slightly improve the room is to paint the inside of the hotel room door and caulk the bathroom window.

• John (4/5): - The heat and A/C are in one unit in each room, they are controlled by the guest with a remote control - simple enough sounds easy until you find out at 130am the batteries in the remote dpn't work. It became so hot in the room I had to unplug the heater, then it become so cold it was insane - didn't sleep at all and left with the flu. SMH - I don't recommend or will not return myself.
