Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice inn, 10 min from the bus station. Room and bathroom is very clean. The included breakfast is great. The only negative point would be the hot water. At first we did not have any and then when they checked on it, we did not have cold water anymore... otherwise everything is great and the staff was awesome.
- Larry (10/5): - The staff was very helpful. They reserved a table for us for a folklore dinner show at Balcones de Puno restaurant. They also arranged a taxi tour to Juli.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located, very friendly and helpful staff, spacy rooms with good shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value! Don’t pass this up! - We stayed for two nights. Our room was clean, plenty of hot water, and check in was a breeze. The front desk was very friendly and gave lots of information. The breakfast staff was also very helpful and the food was good. Our only complaint was that it was a little cold at night. Overall, great value hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - La cama estaba super cómoda.
Quartos amplos
A 10 minutos do centro
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I contacted the hotel for bus terminal pickup for 4h30am which I didnt feel safe taking a taxi at this time. They said everything was confirmed but never came back with how much it would cost (which i realized was actually a 6 sol ride). We arrived as planned at 4h30 am and after 15 minutes of running around the terminal for someone with our name on it as they said, we finally took a taxi outside. I know this is Peru and shame on me for not speaking spanish but was very hard getting understood at the reception in english which I would have appreciated but like I said, shame on me. Finally, we tried to have a collectivo pick us up at the hotel before our flight in Juliaca. When told our flight was at 14h45, they booked a collectivo for 12h00 telling us we would have plenty of time to travel and take our flight. 12h30 our collectivo finally arrives after numerous calls from the desk. It was actually beginning the pick-up round and took us for a 40 minutes ride across town picking passengers. After some peru driving, we got at the airport moments before they were calling for boarding. We weren't late, but did not appreciate the stress of missing the flight and the money for new flights. Hotel was quiet and as anticipated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff and clean, spacious rooms (though a bit drafty at night). One of the staff members went with me to the pharmacy when I mentioned that I was not feeling well, really appreciate the personable touch. Also, the breakfast was yummy!
- Manuel (8/5): - Nice hot water. Nice breakfast. I only spend a few hours sleeping there before my next bus. I didn’t even try the WiFi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The desk staff were very helpful with arranging our drive to Juliaca airport
- Lane (10/5): - This hotel was lovely. We only stayed in Puno a few days, but thought Cantuta was a great place. The inn is cozy with a nice breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Oh, and the bed was super comfortable!
- Frank (8/5): Ok 3* hotel - Nice location, close to the city mall/restaurants.
- Aleksandra (8/5): - Great staff! Hotel within walking distance of the port and the main square.
- Carla (10/5): Everything was perfect! - The stuff was very very helpful. There was a strike of public transport and taxis and I had to go to the airport of juliaca to catch my flight. They did everything to make it work.
The location is very good, only 5 min walk to Placa the arma and 15 min to the lake. 100% recomondable!!
- Holly (8/5): Great value - Great value! Basic hotel with very helpful staff. Building doesn't have heat but rooms have a space heater. Nice hot water showers.
- RK (10/5): - Friendly staff. Big beds. Good location. Excellent Breakfast.
- Jonas (10/5): Super - Jättebra hotell, fräsch och fantastisk service!
- Helen (10/5): Good value - Really great helpful staff, oxygen in the lobby. Very cold this time of year at night so be prepared.
frinedly staff, good breakfist, offer free shuttle service to bus terminar(one way) but wifi is pretty weak. Overall recomendable!
- Julia (8/5): 2nights in puno - All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble, really lovely people. Breakfast was good and fresh items were cooked to order. Room was dated and beds reasonably comfortable. The hotel is 10 minute walk to the main plaza in a reasonably safe area. When considering 2 nights cost $70 I would recommend this hotel for its staff alone
- Kerry Leigh (8/5): - My boyfriend and I stayed overnight in this hotel in Puno. The room was comfortable. It was within walking distance to the plaza and Lake Titicaca. We had to leave early in the morning, though, so weren't able to take the complimentary breakfast.
- Mary (10/5): Super helpful patient staff! - I had a great stay at Cantuta Inn. The beds were large and comfortable and the breakfast was great, with eggs made fresh to order. But the best part of my stay was undoubtedly the staff. They helped me arrange a complicated tour and homestay on Isla Taquile in Lago Titicaca and went to great lengths to respond to every request. I was really impressed with how kind, patient, and friendly they were. 5 star stay--couldn't recommend it highly enough!
- Yvelin (8/5): Good value for money - It is close to main sqaure and downtown, good value for money
- Yvelin (10/5): Good value for money - Hotel is situated 5 minutes away from Plaza de Armas and main walking street with shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, breakfast sufficient, good value for your money.
- Ngan (8/5): Great for value, cool staff! - Hotel staff is extremely helpful and kind. Helped arrange local tour, kept my luggages, gave many suggestion of where to go. There's oxygen in the lobby if anyone in need. I felt save and taken care of.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Recommended - Great staff, room, and breakfast. Helped make our time in Puno very fun and convenient.
- Julian (10/5): - Hotel host went above and beyond in helping us with private transfer from La Paz making sure the transfer was safe and quick. Service was top notch and would definitely recommend this hotel.
- G&R (10/5): Wonderful friendly staff, got picked up from train - Very helpful owner, great communication, booked trips for us with out pressuring us.
Safe area, close to most things.
- Natasha (8/5): Above and beyond service - Really great staff and nice servie. Helped us with questions before our arrival in Puno and picked us up from main square area, dropped us to dock, and let us store luggage overnight while visiting Amantani.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple convenient hotel - This was a stopover in Puno with a trip to the Uros Islands. Conveniently located and tours easy to arrange. Good varied breakfast and wifi included. includedWhat impressed us most was our pick up from Juliaca airport and a sidestep to see Sullistrani assisted by Pacho the driver and especially our wonderful young guide, Luis. I managed to lose my ipad but Pacho safely found and returned it. Thanks to every one at Cantuta.
- Melissa (10/5): - We had a good stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the hotel manager personally drove us to the bus station early in the morning. Breakfast was also good. The only issue, which was very minor, was that the water in the shower took a while to heat up bit was excellent once it did.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Incredible staff - My husband was super sick when we showed up at 9am, having just made an online booking because we hated our previous hotel. The room was (understandably) not ready, but the wonderful guy at the front desk put him to bed in a staff room until our room was ready. They let us check in super early, offered me breakfast, and were generally the most helpful and kind people throughout our stay. Also, breakfast was well above average and the room was great as well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just OK - We stayed at Cantuta Inn for 1 night in July. The experience was just OK.
I had arranged via email for the hotel to pick us up at the bus terminal, however, nobody came to pick us up. The hotel has a very musty smell. The folks at the front desk are helpful. They don't speak much english, but were able to make a reservation for us at a restaurant. Breakfast was usual. They were able to store our luggage after check-out for few hours.
- debra (10/5): Gracious , Welcoming, Attentive - Staff was attentive and welcoming. They ensured my every need was met from transportation to oxygen to information to phone calls. They made my visit to Puno and onward easy for this older solo female traveler with a bad knee. Bed was comfortable, buffet breakfast was delicious. I could not have asked for more. Excellent value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): staff make it a 5* - Staying here was the best decision of my three week trip. And best spent $45 per night. The hotel will pick up from train/bus, which means you don't have to worry about a taxi, where to go, safety at night, or cost. They also drop off when leaving and were able to help translate for me to get bus tickets to Bolivia. And navigate the bus station (find tickets, pay tax, find bus). It was amazing and beyond helpful.
The hotel is a bit dated (older thin wooden doors) but worth much more than you pay. It may not be posh, but it is clean, comfortable, accessible, near the main square snd shops/restaurants.
And the staff more than make up for the lack of fancy accommodations. They always have someone at the desk to ask questions, arrange day tours, taxis, drop off/pick up, and have hot drinks in the lobby all day.
- lxunyc (8/5): Nice clean hotel close to the city center - Situated on a busy street, which comes with pros and cons. For us the biggest advantage is the close proximity to the central plaza and hence restaurants. Though parking could be problematic, the hotel staff arranged to have our car parked in a nearby garage; so no problem there. Rooms are very quite, despite the busy traffic in the street. All in all, the property offers very good value.
- Maria (6/5): Wonderful staff - Rebelhino and his wife Marisa do their best to provide a comfortable stay. The hotel is on a very busy street, so it can be noisy. Ask for an interior room. The Wifi was reliable. The hot water was temperamental, either to hot, or to cold. Breakfast was pretty standard for Peru. It is located about 10 minutes from the main Plaza, a short walk.
