Guest Reviews
- Stephen (2/5): - Property was not what was described, does not look anything like the pictures and they charge you more for the airport shuttle than they stated on their website
- Saloma (4/5): - Basic hotel.
We couldn't sit outside on the balcony as it was all joined together and had the air condition units for each room. The hotel is ok for a few nightgs if you are due to get your connecting flight.
- Maurice (10/5): - The staff was very courteous and helpful
- Rollie (6/5): - Okay for an overnight stay if you want to be close to the airport. Not a place I’d like to stay for longer than that.
- Karent (8/5): - The restaurant in the area was amazing
- shicka (2/5): - The hotel is very outdate and the room air conditioning took an hr to cool the room.
- Franquelo (10/5): - Great customer service 👏
- Sheanda (6/5): - Just when booking for people its a problem
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very poor hotel but nice beach - The pros : private beach , nice coffee shop , kind housekeepers
The cons : very poor maintain, staff is extremely rude beside Sarah who were the best
However one lady at the front desk were extremely rude and makes clients feel uncomfortable, very inconsiderate, unwelcoming, she even charge my debit card without my consent and was very confrontational when I requested a refund that I have not received yet.
The other one was so unfriendly , both never smiled and gave very weird energy , was so heavy.
- Robert (6/5): - Old but looked after. Breakfast cafe on main floor was awesome. We were there on a holiday weekend so we went off site for dinner as the ones one site were closed. The menus on the windows looked great so I’m sure they would have been amazing if you stayed there when it wasn’t a holiday.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disaster. - Whatever they clean the floors with it makes it smell like a hospital, neither one of the restaurants was open when I stayed here on Easter Monday, the restaurants are run by outside entities, and don’t get a room by the highway it’s very noisy and hard to sleep, I truly recommend that no one stays here. Only the locals use the hotel. But they do have a variety of non-perishable foods, a soda machine and some other products nearby the lobby, and if you hear long enough you get use to the smell lol
- Trevron (10/5): - Great place to pop in for a quick stay or business travel
- Benjamin (10/5): - Great
- Richard (8/5): Good - Hotel was ok. Really comfortable bed . Staff really friendly and helpful. Really nice shower . Coconut cafe downstairs served good food. Was perfect for an overnight stay near the airport
- Johnny (8/5): - Everything was good
- Carlos (2/5): - .
- Toshia (4/5): - This property is need of an overhaul and could be wonderful if they can get some investment dollars. We got stuck in Nassau after missing our flight on Western Air to Cat Island. Forgetting we had trip insurance, we were trying to keep our cost low and this was recommended by the cab driver. You pay for what you get of course with anything. The rooms and bathrooms were clean enough with not even a gnat in sight. The pool leaves something to be desired as I would not swim in it. The property is in disrepair and questionable whether it was safe in some parts with the stairs. There aren’t any elevators, so if you have knee concerns or anything, this is not it. I know they would not pass inspection in the US.
However, the majority of the staff were sweet as pie and very pleasurable. They have 3 adjoining restaurants which made it convenient.
The food was good and plentiful with one of the them offering the trio of tacos. It made it all work out for needs at an emergent time.
- Jahziah (6/5): - It was okay no problems just a good place to relax but all the fun is in the city
- ELSA (6/5): - The bed was not comfortable
- Stacy (6/5): - Staff is always helpful and friendly
- Blake (10/5): - The staff was incredible . We had a cancelled flight that night so we booked last minute. The employees all went out of there way to ensure we found a late food spot after our airlines delay. We were able to enjoy the area while we were there, with a few suggestions from the staff. The front desk was also very helpful with transport to the airport. Unfortunately, the restaurants on site closed early.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good hotel - This hotel was totally fine, and very good value compared to other hotels in Nassau. The buildings do look a little run-down, but the beds and sheets were clean. Fresh towels were provided every day, there was hot water and the air conditioning worked really well. It is located quite far from downtown, but there are jitney buses running from directly outside the hotel.
The reception staff were very helpful.
They also have a reasonably-priced shuttle bus service to the airport.
- Ricardo (6/5): - No tiene restaurante dentro del hotel
- Roxeanna (6/5): - The staff was nice. Rooms basic but clean. Couldn’t find usb plug in. Public Buses stop running at 6pm so if you go out you’re going to have to figure out a way back
- Garreth (10/5): - I like that we got served quickly.
- Marty (6/5): - Nice stay. Kind of an old structure that gives motel vibes but the beach is right across the street and there are plenty accommodating food spots around to walk to
- chanduer (10/5): - I like it all
- Neff (4/5): - Properly poorly maintained
- Liselle (4/5): - Not worth the price and why was I charge resort fee. Sun Fun is not a resort, everything overpriced no food on property restaurants barely open, breakfast wasn’t available. List of stuff noted close by staff was unaware of. The list of amenities needs to revise. You’ll need to be honest, I deserve a refund.
- Stacy (8/5): - Staff were always nice and helpful
- Carlos (2/5): - The front door is broke jo restaurants around to eat
- Crystal (2/5): - I booked this hotel on the fly, I looked at all the pictures and tried not to read the reviews HUGE mistake. It is a run down property with a hostel type of feel. Our original room had mold in the closet ceiling and the toilet was leaking water. My son has disabilities so it was a hard to move rooms or even hotels at 9pm We were only staying 2 nights so it was rough. At 7am people were working on the property very loud. We moved rooms and it was that much better but it was enough. I don’t understand how a hotel like this is on Expedia at all. It was so disappointing and didn’t feel very safe. Again with it only being 2 nights it would have been so tough finding a new hotel on Christmas Eve
- Latoya (2/5): - The room we were assigned should be taken out of the system and be used for storage. It was by far the worst I've ever experience in my life. The manger was just not into being bothered. We booked 2 nights and lefted upon checkin and viewing the room after asking the clerk to assign a different room and her manager stating that they could not assist. That the best they willing to do was assign a different room the following day but we would.have to pay an upgrade rate. And with us deciding to leave they said they won't be able to offer a refund and if we decide to return the next day, we would still have to pay the upgrade fee with us loosing a night. The entire experience with this property was awful.
- Christopher (8/5): - There was no in-room phone service available. Also, there are no elevators available to get upstairs. Otherwise, the stay was quite pleasant.
- Joanne (4/5): - No hot water to shower
- Ivan (8/5): - My first day I arrived 6 hours before check-in. They gave me a room on the top floor but moved me to a much better room later that day when it was ready. Staff were super helpful, especially the cleaning ladies. I wanted to move to a different room with a table and booked again online, and they were very helpful and accommodating. They were doing repairs around the hotel and updating, so it was understandable that things were not perfect, but they were doing well. For the price and location... it was a good deal. The beach was a short walk away. Bus stops right outside. Close to Everything in Cable Beach. Some rooms for the same price have bigger TV's / fridges etc. So ask if you want something special. I asked for a bigger TV, table and chair for work when I moved rooms, and they made it happen.
- Jennifer (8/5): - It was older than I expected but the staff were very kind
- Xena (2/5): - No elevator and water pressure was low
- Alvan (2/5): - Dirty place
- Lukia (6/5): - Rooms are poorly kept. Blone light bulbs bed smell funny. On a ggod note ac was cold and the tv worked and so did the internet.
- Marie clarah (2/5): - The property needs serious renovations
- Travis (8/5): - It was in a quiet area, staff was really accommodating
- Marvin (6/5): - I like that it was near the airport
- Miriam (6/5): - No hot water
- Miriam (6/5): - The staff was great
- Joseph (2/5): - No hot water.....
- Yisneiry (10/5): - Perfect spot
- Ray (4/5): Glad my vacay ended - I'm not sure how to feel: the bed is so uncomfortable, the water never ran warm or hot in our bathroom. My son couldn't get the water to be warm. It got very hot for him and didn't balance out. The door of room 16 was frustrating. It was so much trouble to unlock. The television in the bedroom was just for atr work on the wall.
- Roland (2/5): - Terrible experience I ever had in the hotel industry sun fun should closed down for renovations I don’t know why they still operate, I have to cancel my booking after I see room #37 the bed was broken the sheet was dirty and the bathroom have broken tiles everywhere they refuse to refund me money, that night I have to rebook to the colony club their experience was perfect can’t wait to go back there again
- Verified traveler (10/5): The perfect average. - For being a 2 star and being a couple hundred dollars cheaper than your next 3 star, it did exactly what it said on the wrapper. Friendly staff, allowed me to stay longer after check out and organsied a taxi back to the airport for me. Better than a hostel and better than spending almost half a grand on something only a little better. Thank you Sun Fun!
- Rick (2/5): - Extremely outdated property, not as depicted in web photos, genuinely disappointed.
- Shelly (8/5): Get what you pay for - Stay was good. They allowed me to check in early when I arrived off my liveaboard. Their only option to go anywhere was an expensive taxi to go 1/2 mile down road. No breakfast options at all cookies and coffee. Bed was comfy. Felt safe. Water pressure is an issue but I think it’s that way on the island. Not sure I would stay here again being I was put on 3rd floor with all of my luggage (scuba diving gear) and no help to get up there.
- Venecia (2/5): - The property is NOT as advertised! First of all this is a motel and NOT a resort! The property has ongoing construction/renovation. The rooms are musty and half cleaned. No daily housekeeping service as we only had it once during our 5 night stay and we had to ask for it. The bathroom shower handles were all but falling off, the dresser in the room was old and falling apart. The a/c looked as if they had thrown it on the wall. Towels and sheets were hard and dingy. Shower curtain was dirty. The fridge does NOT freeze, as we bought ice cream and ended up leaving it behind as it never froze during the entire time there. Staff are not so courteous especially the tall security guard. Stairs sounded as if you would fall through them. No phones in the rooms and no sign of a golf course. We have pictures as we were thoroughly disappointed and want a partial refund.
- Sarah (4/5): - Old dirty and pool was good and dirty no towels
- Stacy (8/5): - Very nice, next to a few food options and very nice shuttle service. Great staff.
- Monica (6/5): - Good service, daily good area, moldy bathrooms
- Yisneiry (8/5): - I felt safe at all time you don’t need rental public transportation very affordable and accessible, staff pleasant
- Latekia (2/5): - This place is a scam please don’t book
- Essy (2/5): - N- a
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Pictures posted on website are way far from reality. Rooms are lacking of maintenance. Doors are scratched and main entrance door knob is broken and door could not locked properly. Tiles are very old, kitchen, toilet bowl very old abd walls dirty. Area felt very unsafe. Hotel is 15 minutes away from airport and NOT 5 as how its advertised on the page. Hotel looks like a very very cheap motel.
- Diana (2/5): - This "resort" is not as advertised. They just call it resort because it has a pool ( dirty). Everything was old and dirty, the only power outlet we had in the room was in the bathroom. There was a power extension cord where they had the tv, microwave, and mini fridge plugged in. The shower was disgusting, no water pressure, to get some hot water, I had to let the water run for about 10 minutes in order to get some hot water. The room key deactivated every 24 hours and I didn't know this, until the third night, we were told that we have to have the key activated every day. Horrible experience at this place.
- Alina (2/5): - Room was not what I expected
- Randolph (2/5): - This was not the room they told me I would get. I paid for a deluxe room with a king-size bed but got a room with 2 beds instead. It appears to be a room for a one-night stand not for a family. The remote did not work for the television, they did not provide me with one even after I told them, the nightstand lamp had a long delay before it lit up, and the wall plugs & sockets behind the bed were loose/shaky. There was no chair or table for sitting, no coffee maker. The keys needed to be reprogrammed each day I went out and came back. The bathroom fixtures were not in the best condition. I don't know if all the guests got the same type of rooms or if it was because me and my husband were black people. This room calls for a total renovation. the only thing that worked well was the air conditioning unit. I don't want to sound as if I am complaining but my stay was not happy at all.
- Lawrence (6/5): Adequate for overnight - Good value for an overnight before going early to a nice resort. It does have some food options. Ten minute walk - no sidewalk- to a beach and a nice enough restaurant, Sapodilla.
- Francois (6/5): - Good location close to the beach very convenient
- thomas (6/5): Service people good, noise was not - Service : all people very pleasant. Noisy because of big gaps around entrance door and patio door. Nightclub next door source of nighttime noise through the doors just mentioned. Also dogs who seem to reside on the property bark at night. AC was quite adequate despite the doors. No table or dining chair which rendered the freezer cooler moot. Was promised dining chair but never was delivered.
- chan (4/5): - Not a nice place to stay. We didn’t even stay one night. Moved to the sister company called Golden Palms. Wow what a beautiful place.
- VIOLETTE (4/5): - The property was dirty the floor was making noise and the bathroom couldn't flush we had to use a bucket to flush the bathroom he got to a point when they got so frustrated even the shower was running so slow
- PEDRO (2/5): - there was no water in the rooms there were no cable channels there was only one nothing else there was no wifi everything was damaged and the service rate was loose
- Anthony (8/5): - Everything
- David (4/5): - 189 a night, and it was falling apart. Beds were super hard and the door frames had been bashed in a few times and repaired.
- Timothy (6/5): - So this place would be a handyman’s life work. It kinda reminded me of Winchester Mystery house the way it has been converted and remodeled. You have to realize this is what you get for the price. Our friends were concerned about the neighborhood.
- mary and Geoffrey (8/5): - great restaurant and friendly staff
- Dennie (8/5): Nice location - We stayed here as part of our vacation & we loved the location it was right in front of a private beach my kids loved it, we like the space in the room as well we enjoyed our stay.
- Shoaib (6/5): - You get what you pay for when you stay here.
- Sophia (4/5): - I won’t stay at this property again. We stayed 1 night. Staff was friendly but that’s as far as it went. Everything about the room was unsatisfactory. Sheets stained, toilet stained not properly cleaned, outdated facility, only two channels on tv, botched remodel work… the list goes on…
- Garry (10/5): - The tv only two channels
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was very dirty sheets had stains towel was very hard bathroom toilet keep running the room I paid for not the same will never go back there again it’s only for local who live in the Bahamas
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not so fun - Well I don’t want to say
- Nolene (4/5): Poor quality and service - The booked transfer was not there. The front desk was not helpful. And I booked a triple room with 2 beds and was put in a room with one bed. The shower/bath combo was rusted and the tap falling off. The water was cold. Not impressed at all, won't stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They need to update the hotel rooms, patch-up walls, and update furniture.
- Yaroslav (4/5): - Horrible and not what they promised. Bad air con service. Quite stinky in corridors. Nothing around the area. Expensive transportation - 4 min drive from the airport 15 usd . Room is very poorly constructed and decorated. Advertised for 85 usd but ended up paying 127 with taxes. For that price can get element hotel in Miami airport . Pool small . Muc smaller than looks on the picture
- Torri (6/5): Budget Option - Hotels and rentals in Nassau can be very pricey. Add VAT taxes and the bill can blow your brain up. With that said, this place located close to the airport is an option for budget travelers. At this time the place is undergoing some renovations, because it is an older property. We had a double room overlooking the pool which contained two double beds. The beds were too soft for my back, but my SO slept fine. The room included a fridge and microwave plus a TV with basic cable channels. The best thing in the room we had was the AC. It blew very cool air and was not too loud. We used the pool at night which was clean and deep enough to do some laps. They have a small continental breakfast and an airport shuttle. So there are some basic amenities, but do know this place is on par with a Motel 6 or Super 8 in the U.S. If you need to keep costs down and plan to spend most of your time at the beach or in the city, then you can make this place work.
- Nicky (6/5): Average - Basic stay
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place is horrific. I can’t believe it’s fit for human habitation never mind being advertised as accommodation in your website
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Price was good with free parking hotel is old and pool could be cleaner
- Verified traveler (2/5): - so i woke up at 7:30am to go for breakfast they didn't have it, they said it is finished and they will not replenish. and the room was too hot and i couldn't sleep, honestly the bathroom need to be renovated with all that i couldn't had to book another place.
which i absolutely loved golden palm BnB was exceptional
- Debbie&Kathlene (2/5): - I was so very disappointed in this property but most of all I was very upset with the unprofessional behavior of the young lady at the front desk and the supervisor that was on duty on Saturday June 6, 2019. I was locked out of room because the battery needed to be changed, after arriving from the beach very tired and in desperate need of a bath, rather than putting me in a comfortabe room the left me or over an hour standing and they had nothing with sense to say or any way in getting the proble fix. The room was not as described on the site and my overall experience with the room as not good. The manager came and she was ver sorry for the treatment I received and was the only one that apologise
- Bernardo (2/5): - The room door was not properly sealed therefore anyone could just bush the door and it would of opened.
The towels were deplorable
- Verified traveler (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE! This is the most run down hotel....there was literally SEX pills and condoms available at the front desk...taped to the wall!!!!!
