Guest Reviews
- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful location. Great vibes. Restaurant is right there and the food was excellent! I wish the weather had been more - Cozy little spot! I recommended it our daughters who will be there next weekend.
- Jeff (8/5): Disappointed on how rates are handled through Booking.com. Way too expensive. Wont be using them again. - The view, restaurant, bar all in one hotel. Location to two rivers and the Marina was excellent. Little older hotel but was clean.
- Cathy (9/5): Enjoyed our short stay here. Evening dining menu was very good with very reasonable prices. Staff friendly. - Lovely position on edge of Lake Michigan.
- morton (3/5): Not good - Breakfast was good The elevator wasn't working so I had to carry all my luggage and bags up stairs, and no one from the staff even asked if I needed help. The outside doors have no locks so anyone could get in the hotel late night. The room didn't offer much. No dirty laundry bags no hair dryer, I've stayed there a number of times and every year it gets worse. Not worth the money anymore.
- Patrick (10/5): -
- jeanne (10/5): -
- Baxter (10/5): - Very good and nice to sit in a dining room.
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Burger (9/5): they made me feel relaxed in the time of not being able to get home - Even though I stayed due to bad weather in the area and they were short on staff they worked their hardest and were friendly be it check in, preparing of food or even helping get people unstuck in snow covered parking lot I dont have complaints on anything from this trip
- Susan (7/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): -
- Kraig (10/5): - The room was excellent. The view was beautiful. The dining room was lovely.
- John (9/5): All in all, I like this hotel. Have stayed here a few times, for past Packer games, and will - The view and the restaurant and bar were great. Food was great. too. It could use some updating and had smell of the building being so old. Vent in the bathroom didn't work.
- Karen (5/5): - The location right on Lake Michigan was awesome. Hotel is very dated as our all of the furnishings. Really needs to be updated.
- Brenda (3/5): Probably wouldn’t come back for the money - Food was good! They said it was updated from the last time we were there, I don’t think so! Smell old and wore out!
They also said it was a water view, but not much. It wasn’t worth the money to get a water view had more beach view than water
- Tony (7/5): -
- Richard (10/5): I had a great week of vacation at the Lighthouse. - Great view of the lake. Too many little bugs outside.
- Beth (10/5): It was very comfortable and location is beautiful - Location was beautiful! Nice pool No hairdryer in the room and no iron, most women do not travel with those things but are a necessity
- Philippe (8/5): -
- Neal (10/5): Loved everything about it! - LOVED being so close to the lake! We also enjoyed the restaurant for both supper the night before and breakfast. So beautiful, convenient and the food was very good! Loved the decor of both the restaurant and our room.
- Laura (8/5): Could be highly rated if replaced carpet and cleaned a bit better - Location and lake view. Restaurant on site pool and hot tub. Musty smell, stained carpets, dirty windows especially in the restaurant
- JOSEPH (3/5): Quick in and out - Food tasted good. I paid for the beach front room but to see it I couldn’t relax in a chair to enjoy the view I had to stand. When I first walked into my room it was musty smelling like it got flooded recently, door in the fridge was hard to open because it was rubbing in the carpet.
- Ryan (6/5): - The location along the lake is wonderful. We loved soaking up the views. Staff is pleasant and the restaurant is great. There are many areas that need to be replaced: room doors need better safety locks, mattresses and pillows need to be replaced. Great bedding sets a place above the competition! The older tables and lamps wouldn’t seem so old and would register as more cute and quaint if the mattresses and bedding were updated. Also, the carpet was filthy and in need of cleaning or replacement. You have a diamond in the rough. Do what’s needed to make it great.
- Peter (7/5): -
- Laurel (10/5): - This is the fourth time I have stayed there and every time it has been wonderful. We had a lake view room this time and had the window open all night. The soothing sound of the waves and fresh breeze was lovely.
- Debra (4/5): - Replace the mattresses. Anyone who has a back condition definitely wakes up with back pain as I did.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The location is incredible. Opening the window and falling asleep to the sound of Lake Michigan’s waves was the best part! The place was clean. It could use a little updating though.
- Floyd (9/5): Pleasant. - Dinner and breakfast.
- April (10/5): Fun - Not crowded The shower head was pretty low lol, my boyfriend hit his head when he was showering
- Gerald L (8/5): - The location was great. Right on the lake. Beautiful views!
The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice facilities. Very clean. The bed in my room was like sleeping on a wooden picnic table with sheets and a blanket.
Did not get much sleep. Very uncomfortable.

- Monika (10/5): - Wunderschönes Hotel, toller Ausblick beim Frühstück. Sehr gutes Frühstück

- Kaija (10/5): -
- Justin (8/5): -
- Rosalee (9/5): - Staff was friendly & informed, check in was quick with information on restaurant hours for dinner & breakfast options. Facility was a little dated but everything was well-maintained & clean.
- Andrew (9/5): Lighthouse Inn, Nov 2025 - Great staff, beautiful location right on Lake Michigan. Very nice spacious room (double queen). Restaurant in-house breakfast (included) was well prepared. Only negative, and I have stayed here before, is that the toilets are way outdated. I swear they came out of a grade school somewhere because they are extremely low to the floor ( not even standard height) and uncomfortable for an average adult to sit on. I have a bad knee and it is very difficult to get on, and get off. Most folks probably would not include this in a review, but hey - we all use the facilities so just letting you know. Having said this it is still a great place to stay.
- Kelly (8/5): - The beach was beautiful, such amazing location.
- Theresa (10/5): - Staff is friendly, clean and comfortable, and the best view in the area N/A
- Tia (8/5): -
- lesley (6/5): - The location Smelled soooo moldy, we left early. Also the sound ofnthe fan in the neighboring room bathroom was screeching. I only know this because I turned on our fan to shower and it sounded the same
- Christine (9/5): - The breakfast vouchers were a pleasant surprise, the breakfast was very good! Great service from the staff and beautiful scenery right outside the restaurant, Lake Michigan. Room was very roomy, loved that we had 2 comfortable chairs. The best thing was leaving the window open to listen to the waves all night long!!!! Our room did not have a hair dryer, I searched all the drawers, not sure if there was supposed to be one, I was going to ask when we checked out but forgot. That was the only thing I can say, everything else was wonderful, will return.
- Hesham (10/5): -
- Dane (10/5): -
- Bobtonid (9/5): - Free cooked breakfast and the Lake Michigan view Bathroom not up to standards
- Mary (8/5): Comfortable - Location and breakfast Needs updating. Need new carpeting
- sharon (6/5): - Not happy. The TV would not work all three nights we were there. could not watch our favorite shows or any other. Once tv was on for awhile, freeze up and shut down, over and over again. Asked for clean towels daily, 2 days ok, third day I had to ask for towels and then walk around all the dirty ones. The toilet seat was loose, not connected and lid kept hitting us in the back. Not Happy
- Chris (9/5): -
- Larry (6/5): - Hotel room was dated/tired, but very clean. The hallway smelled of natural gas, which was very concerning. I paid extra for a lakeside room, and could barely see the lake for the plantings, AND a wing of the hotel. Poor.
- Roger (8/5): -
- DANIEL (10/5): - This is a great location on Lake Michigan. The property is a little older but we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and quite and the views of the lake were awesome. The food was great, the bar was great and the staff were great.
- Elsie (10/5): - Rooms were nice and clean. Good view of Lake Michigan from our room too!
- Kerri (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious. Room very clean. So relaxing to hear the lake so close to your window.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Vicki (8/5): - Beautiful location - friendly staff. Great food in restaurant. Little dated. Missing things like hair dryers and coffee makers in some rooms.
- Louis (10/5): Another great stay. - Can't say a bad work about the place. Did see people complaining in the parking lot as to them only having one baggage roller for guest to use.
- Sharon (8/5): - Location A bit out dated
- Jeff (7/5): Gotta love the view - The location was great, and the restaurant Waters Edge was really good. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was nice but could definitely use some updating
- Stacy (6/5): Cute Inn on Lake Michigan - Breakfast was ok, it took a while the place was busy. We got French toast, they forgot the butter, by the time it arrived the food was cold. The place could definitely use a makeover. The hallways smell very musty. It smells old. I enjoyed being directly on Lake Michigan. The bed was comfortable for being old. I did like the little basket of army men. We brought them home to NH. The bar was cute. The service was great. There used to be a sauna, it was locked up. I was a little bummed about that. The water wasn’t as hot as I was hoping. Breakfast was a long ordeal, spent too long just waiting for butter and the food wasn’t hot when it came to the table.
- David (10/5): OK, staying on Lake Michigan - We had a Lakeside room with a beautiful view. Left the window open so we could hear the surf. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was excellent.
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Have stayed here several times. Always Good!
- Mario (10/5): - Awesome place. Great view. Reasonable prices for lodging and dining. Would happily stay there again.
- Michelle (7/5): - We love the restaurant that is attached to the hotel. Food is so good! We love being right on the lake, views are great We love staying here because it's so close to the race track. Really could use some updating though, price is a little high for how old everything is. The USB ports didn't work on the table between the beds. And the pillows are terrible, we always bring our own. However, the beds are very comfortable.
- Flaatten (8/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): - We always stay at the Lighthouse for the friendly staff and it’s right on the lake.
- Sherrie (10/5): Great view and restaurant - Everything is a bit dated, but clean. Friendly people, and a wonderful view. And the restaurant is so convenient after a long drive.
- Julie (6/5): - The property is old and it smells musty, especially in our room. The outside sign and landscaping are not well kept. However, the facility is well cleaned and the beds/bedding were nice. The highway in front was busy and noisy but you couldn’t hear it inside. The view in the back of the inn is fantastic. The fan in the bathroom did not work and several outlets were non working. No hair dryer in the room but they had one at the front desk. They were under staffed in the restaurant and service was slow. Our breakfast was very good. I highly recommend the cranberry walnut oatmeal brûlée!
- Anita (9/5): - Staff were friendly & helpful, property was very clean, cooked to order included breakfasts were excellent. We loved having the window in our room open to listen to the waves from Lake Michigan. Will stay here again!
- Dana (4/5): - Stayed there three years ago, it was great. This time, not so much. Dirty facility, smelled moldy. They were out of extra pillows and towels. Evening staff was rude. Meal the next morning at the restaurant was awful. Tired of hearing, ‘we are short staffed’!! Ummm, if I’m not getting the full experience, why am I paying for it?? Will never go back!!!
- Kathy (10/5): - Awesome facility in
wonderful location. We plan to return. View...comfortable...clean...restaurant...staff.....location....everything was perfect
- Malicki (7/5): Nice place, could use updates... - The location was great. The bar was really nice. The food in the restaurant good. Bed pillows were reallllllly nice. Bed was ok, just very soft. We paid extra for a Lakeview room. There technically was a view of the lake, but it was 90%beach. The toilet in our room was so so so low to the ground. Really everything was nice, but very dated.
- Angie (9/5): - We stay here every year. The location is perfect. Downtown is in walking distance. The view is amazing. The staff is amazing... hard working and very friendly/helpful. Sure the rooms could use a little updating... don't get me wrong... we've always been very happy with our room.
- Carl (9/5): -
- Shams (10/5): - Stayed here for Green Bay Packers Thursday Night Football. Beautiful location, breakfast room has great views, room is spacious with two queen beds and en-suite, ample parking
- Gregory (10/5): - Bed was comfortable
Breakfast was excellent
- david (10/5): - Easy parking, free breakfast, swimming pool, fitness room, and lake view.
- Brian (8/5): - The furniture in the room looks like it's original from the '60s. That being said, it is comfortable, and with the alarm clock and hub on the desk, there are plenty of outlets including charging options.
Breakfast is in the on-premise restaurant. You get a voucher. You can choose from a half dozen options, or just six dollars off anything on the menu. The food was good.
Note when you book that rooms facing the lake are slightly higher, so if you want a lake view, book a "lakeside" room. A "parkside" room overlooks the parking lot.
- Lepine (9/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): - The friendliness of the staff and view of the lake make this a place I’ll return to
- Mihel (8/5): - Location was amazing!
- Clifford (9/5): Staff was friendly, The restaurants food was very good -
- Peggy (5/5): - Having the restaurant on site. Bathroom fan was not usable because of the awful noise it made. I did report it to the front desk. There was a dirty rag hanging in the shower.
- Mary (10/5): room with a view - Very clean, cozy and beautiful location.
- Jim (10/5): - Location Location Location.....right on the water! The toilets are really low and just about all the lights on the walls in the hallway all have cob webs on them. Not a big deal but needed to be brought up.
- Stacy (10/5): - As always wonderful
- Jonker (8/5): We fully enjoyed the experience of staying so close to Lake Michigan in a quiet, clean atmosphere. - Breakfast was tasty, new and interesting. We really loved the biking trail was nearby. We appreciated the quiet rooms and kind staff. The pool was dark due to burnt out lights. The shower faucets were not functioning properly. I’d appreciate coffee in my room.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - No safe path or staircase to access the beach. My spouse has RA, and it would’ve been too dangerous to try to get to the beach. The room was completely outdated, and the entire building smells like mildew. We expressed concerns about the constant door slamming (which went well into the night and started back up at 6:00 AM.) and the child running up and down the hallway upstairs. The receptionist was confused as she said they try to not book families with children on the second floor. We went to the bar to get some appetizers and a couple drinks. The bartender, Scott was great, but it took an hour to get a couple of appetizers which were almost inedible and cold. The website makes the place look so inviting, but we left very disappointed. It was a waste of $160.
- Gina (4/5): - I was very disappointed in the upkeep of outdoor property. The “private beach access” was only if you could crawl over large rocks. Security from outdoors was not there. Anyone could access the floors from outside. The restaurant was extremely slow to take orders and food arrived almost cold. Also found a hair in my pancakes this morning. They didn’t charge me but still… overall the view of Lake Michigan was wonderful and access the bike trails was also great! But I would not stay there again in future!!
- Wayne (9/5): -
- Jeff (10/5): - It was a nice simple room on lake side. Beautiful view! Absolutely worth checking out! The sounds of water splashing all night was awesome! Great staff and seems well kept. Comfortable beds!! Nice shower and plenty of towels. Great price too.
- Sheryl (8/5): - The inn is dated but clean
- Matthew (8/5): - Very easy beach access. The facility is older but the price is good and they have a great restaurant.
- Garrett (10/5): - Nice place!
- Susan (8/5): - Restaurant & bar we're under staffed. The waitresses, hosts worked very hard to accommodate guests needs.
- Konstantin (8/5): -
