Guest Reviews
- Susan (10/5): The Wilson-Guy House is a gem of a place to stay in NOTL! - We enjoyed the lovely tray of coffee plus scone / muffin delivered daily to our room prior to regular breakfast... perfect way to start the day for us early risers! The breakfast itself was skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. The courtyard out back gave us a place to enjoy the outdoors, watch the birds, take a nap. The lilacs were in bloom and so aromatic! The room was beautiful, with comfortable bed, en suite bathroom, plus a separate dressing room to accommodate luggage. Very convenient location, with parking on site, only steps away from the old-town district of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our host was welcoming, attentive, helpful. Highly recommend!
- Tom (10/5): -
- JOSEPH (10/5): A wonderful location, beautiful home and an excellent breakfast - The breakfast was exceptional. The bed very comfortable. The host was friendly and inviting. Nothing
- Colleen (10/5): Great Getaway - Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice updated bathroom. Fresh coffee and pastries at our door each morning. Fresh cooked delicious breakfast made for us every morning also. The hospitality that the owner Maria gave us, was out of this world. Definitely treated us as her guest.

The coffee delivered to your door on a literal silver platter was awesome. The host is an absolutely amazing woman!!! Maria really puts the extra touches and details into literally everything. I cannot say enough good things about this property and its owner. There was not a thing I didn’t like.

Maria made the most delicious breakfast each morning for us . Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and everything was well stocked and very clean .
- Judith (10/5): Truly a fantastic stay! - This location is supreme! Our host, Maria, was friendly & knowledgeable towards our questions and the breakfast was truly a highlight of each day!
- James (10/5): I look forward tot hte opportunity to stay at the Wilson-Guy house again in the future. - Maria was an incredible host. At first, my wife and I were a bit unsure if we would feel comfortable in a B & B - after all you are essentially staying in someone else's house. Maris was very warm and welcoming and we felt right at home. The breakfasts she made were incredible and matched anything I have had in a five star restaurant. There is nothing about our stay that we did not like.
- Sharon & John (10/5): Wonderful, can't wait to return - In Niagara-on-the-Lake for the Shaw Festival. It was the perfect location to get to the theaters. A beautiful house, wonderful rooms and Maria was FANTASTIC!!! We will be back next year. Not a thing! Everything was great.

- Lisha (10/5): For a trip to NOTL, this is the perfect place to stay and enjoy the town.. - Everything was perfect! The breakfasts - perfect. The room - perfect (oh, the bathtub!). It was impossibly clean, Maria and her husband were delightful, the location was so perfect we were able to run back to the B&B during intermission of a show to use the loo! It was lovely! A teeny bit expensive, but for all it was, we didn't mind at all!
- Barry (10/5): Great stay in a historic building. - Lovely room. Breakfast was a treat. Thoughtfully prepared food and interesting company and the communal table for 6. Great hosts. Sitting area outside was a bonus. Nothing
- Richard H. (9/5): It was delightful and if ever we are in N on the L we would hope to stay in the William Guy House - Breakfast was absolutely delightful and beautiful presentation. It was especially lovely to have warm scones and tea waiting for us at 7:45 in the morning prior to breakfast. We loved the decor and the table settings My husband and I usually sleep in a King size bed and I have some back issues so sleeping in a lovely Queen just wasn’t good for me as I found the mattress a bit uncomfortable but everything else made up for a little bit of a restless sleep.
- Teona (10/5): - The location is amazing, as it is only a short walk to shops, restaurants and the theatre. Maria was very kind and welcomed us warmly, and breakfast was absolutely amazing ! The room was extremely clean and comfortable, and we only wish we'd had more time to enjoy the beautiful backyard and pool. Parking for our car was available on site. Thank you for hosting us, we loved our stay and would definitely come back : )
- Deborah (5/5): Average - Location and parking No one to greet us
No choice at breakfast
Very small bed
No bedside table on one side
No tea/coffee facilities
- John (10/5): - Maria prepared exceptional breakfasts and was very attentive and helpful. Location is perfectly in the center of NOTL, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Wilson-Guy House had all of the amenities of a modern house, with all of the charm and history expected of a house built 200 years ago! Thank you again and we hope to be back!
- Maria (10/5): -
- Jocelyn (10/5): Lovely historic home in a great location! - Very charming and comfortable historic home in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. Excellent host and delicious breakfast!

- Patricia (10/5): Excellent breakfast, wonderful host, great location, beautifully appointed home. - Excellent breakfast, wonderful host, great location, beautifully appointed home.
- Heather (10/5): - For one night it was expensive but other couples were staying 3-5 nights so they would be getting a much better rate for staying longer. Everything was lovely and the location is great for shopping and walking to the theatres. We will try to stay there next year when we come down for our usual 2 plays and shopping.
- Fraser (10/5): - Excellent experience, we were treated first class from check in to check out. The pool was a nice surprise and was enjoyed immensely after a hot afternoon on the golf course. Breakfast was wonderful especially before a bike tour along the Niagara River Trail.
- Tatiana (10/5): - The B&B house is absolutely beautiful, intimate, and perfectly located! Maria is such a wonderful host - she did everything to ensure we feel taken care of and happy! The house has only a few rooms, so it feels like you’re visiting your aunt or family, and it was amazing having breakfast all together. Feels like home🫶🏻
- David (10/5): It was a wonderful experience and we will return one day. - Everything about Wilson-Guy house was excellent. Beautifully appointed. Breakfast was excellent each day. Conversation with other guests at breakfast was always interesting.
It was a relatively short walk to the Shaw Festival, and downtown NOTL is right outside the door. There wasn't anything I didn't like about Wilson-Guy house.
- Joan (10/5): Great location and wonderful hosts! - Beautiful home and room. the hosts were wonderful, and the breakfast was great. Parking is a challenge, but they make it work - location was perfect!
- jean (10/5): -
- Protomanni (7/5): Good -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Absolute bliss. - The location, flowers, decor, outdoor pool. And perfect service. It was perfect
- Alan (10/5): Well worth it. - Location was a few houses from Queen Street, heart of Niagara on the Lake. Coffee and scones left outside the room @ 7:30am was a treat; breakfast was wonderful. Host friendly, engaging. Grounds were beautiful.
- Bernadette (10/5): Maria is a fantastic host, ensuring the comfort of her guests in this beautiful home! - So elegantly decorated to suit the age and history of the property, while still being very comfortable and spacious. We loved everything about it!
- Lorna (10/5): We had a great time and would love to stay in the Wilson house again when in the area! - Beautiful, conveniently located!
The proprietor was engaging and friendly.
The breakfast was amazing and her care was amazing! We loved everything!
- Johanna (9/5): Superb -
- Shari (10/5): - The property is very centrally located in NOTL - just 1/2 a block from the main street and shopping. There is limited parking (spots for 3 cars) on site and because of this you will need to leave your car key with the host in case others need to get their car out of the driveway. The king bed room was large but the en-suite bathroom is on the smaller size (reimagined closet space). The morning tea/coffee/homemade scones delivered to your room before breakfast was a great touch! The hot fresh prepared breakfast was very good and the host was both welcoming and unobtrusive. Would stay again if headed into NOTL
- Janvis (9/5): Enjoyed it! - Had a lovely stay at this beautiful historical house. It is only steps away from Queen Street. Maria and Dimitar are very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and comfortable. At the breakfast table, besides the delicious food, we also had a good conversation with the other guests and Maria.
- Catherine (10/5): - Beautiful room with a walk in closet and mini-fridge, perfect location steps from all the fun of Queen St and a sublime breakfast!
- Wadih (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent, friendly host
Clean facility
Excellent location
Loved the wakeup coffee and fresh hot scones
Loved the delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining room.
Enjoyed the company of the other guests.
Thank you Maria
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous B&B experience, perfect location and very comfortable. Maria is an excellent host. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The wake up coffee & tea tray each morning was a special treat. Nothing
- Kiki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Howard (10/5): Exceptional - The Wilson-Guy House is the perfect place to stay when in Niagara on the Lake. There are only 3 rooms in a beautiful Georgian style manor. It is super clean, super comfortable, in the best location. We have been coming here for many years. The owner, Maria, and her husband, offer the absolute perfect residence. They are accommodating and take great care of their patrons. Maria's breakfasts cannot be beat. She accommodates her guests special dietary needs, and if you miss breakfast, she will deliver morning coffee/tea to your door (at your request). Parking on the property. Everything was perfect!
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was fabulous. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
Great location, walk to all the local shops and restaurants. Maria was very nice
- Patricia (10/5): We loved our time there. Home was beautiful clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast - Beautiful home and delicious breakfast. Location was perfect. Nothing
- Fiona (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fabulous attention to detail. Maria was an excellent host. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
- Jeff (10/5): - Wonderful and cute character home with lots of history. Maria the host was 10/10. The breakfast was delicious and the homemade Scones were out of this world. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great experience.
- Elena (10/5): Absolutely amazing - wonderful Birthday stay - Both of us really loved the place: the location is as central as it gets in Niagara on the Lake: 20 meters off the central street, so the shopping and restaurants are all within 2 minutes walk, Royal George theater just across the corner, and Shaw Festival theater is less than 10 minutes walk. The house itself is beautifully decorated, everything is super clean and comfortable. But what really made our stay special, is the hospitality of the owners. Not only Maria brought us coffee to the room before breakfast, but - as she knew it's my birthday - she arranged a wonderful bouquet of flowers and even found the birthday song to greet me when we came down to breakfast - really tasty and beautifully served. So I literally felt like a queen on my birthday.
- Kelly (10/5): - Perfect location and spotless room.
Maria is a special lady. I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. We were surprised with a handwritten card and rose with our morning tea/ muffin tray. So thoughtful
- Roy (9/5): Highly recommend . - Easily accessed, great location to the main attraction, pleasant staff and quiet room . Breakfast was very good . Highly recommend. Not accessible, just stairs but Maria was very helpful.
- Marian (10/5): - A lovely property and friendly owners. It exceeded our expectations and we would love to stay here again. Breakfast was fantastic - really loved the homemade scones, banana muffins, beautiful omelets and eggs benedict (it was actually Eggs Royal - even better)
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!
- Bowe (10/5): Exceptional -
- pamela (10/5): - Loved the Historic Guy-Wilson home!! The location was excellent. Our breakfast was delicious. The owner was very sweet.... we will be back !!
- David (8/5): Quaint BnB in heart of NOTL - We enjoyed our stay in NOTL and Maria made us feel welcomed. Breakfast was served in dining room which was nicely decorated for the holidays. The location of this quaint BnB was ideal as we explored the surrounding shops. We met fellow travellers which made our trip memorable.
- Doug (10/5): - Perfect location, beautiful room and the hostess is wonderful! We have stayed here previously and we are looking forward to a return visit.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
- Susan (6/5): Lovely Inn with an uncomfortable room for guests - Location great
Breakfast very good The room downstairs where we slept was uncomfortable. It was very warm. the AC did not work. I think the vents were closed. There was not much privacy as the bed was about 6 ft. from the Dining table. The pillows were big lumpy foam rubber. I would only consider this if one of the upstairs rooms is available.
- Michael (10/5): Most pleasant! - The spectacular hospitality! Maria was the perfect hostess with an unbelievable breakfast each morning, starting with coffee and a homemade yummy to wake you up - served to your room as we prepared for the day! Mattress was a bit too soft
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful historic home, lovely host, delicious breakfast. Perfect location!
- Bruce (10/5): - Quiet, convenient, good breakfasts..,
- Sharon (10/5): Charming & Beautiful B&B - Beautiful charming old home with character & gorgeous furnishings. We booked the room with 2 beds. Beds were so comfortable & room is very large. Lovely bathroom, large screen TV & antique furnishings. Nice touch of fresh baked muffins, tea & coffee left at the door an hour before a delicious breakfast was served in the wonderful dining room. We didn't have to take our car as everything is close & walking distance to the main street Minor recommendation ... it would have been nice to have bottled water left in our room
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Great location, pretty town and wonderful b and b - The room was lovely and had everything you needed. The staff were great and the breakfasts exceptional. It was lovely sitting around the breakfast table changing to other guests, with great food. We were only there for 2 nights
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Helmut (10/5): Great stay in Niagara-On-The-Lake. - Excellent location. Great hosts.
- Ron (9/5): Relaxing Getaway - The owner, Maria, was very accommodating and an excellent chef. We were fortunate to have four very interesting guests also staying at the house. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The House is within walking distance of theaters, restaurants, and shopping. The parking required moving vehicles around from time to time, but Maria had a workable procedure.
- Morgan (10/5): Warm, welcoming, friendly. Relaxing and accommodating! - Maria was a generous & responsive host. She is superior in
Every way and the accommodations are warm & gorgeous. N/A
- Winton (8/5): We had a very good time - It’s location Our room was very small
- Josh (10/5): - Marvelous location. Comfortable room. Delicious breakfasts.
- Andrea (9/5): It was a great getaway in a beautiful setting. - The B&B is situated very close to the shops and restaurants in the historic downtown. Maria made wonderful breakfasts and made us feel very welcome. The only thing that would be nice is a comfortable place to relax outside of our room. In the nice weather, there is a beautiful outdoor pool and chairs to lounge in, but not in inclement weather or cooler months.
- Nancy (7/5): Our stay was average at best for Niagara On The Lake. - Location was great. Host was very nice. Breakfast was mediocre. Air conditioning unit was old and noisy. No public living spaces except outside
- Barb (7/5): Good - Very convenient location. -----------
- Km (9/5): Historic home in a great location. - Historic home located in the middle of town close to everything. Maria was a great host, very personable, and the breakfasts were fantastic. Home was very clean and comfortable. Mattress was a little worn and sloped towards the middle.
- Luisa (10/5): Thank you, Maria, for the lovely room and your gracious hospitality and delicious breakfast. - The room was spacious and cozy and right in the centre of town. Loved the delicious breakfast on the terrace, as well as coffee, tea and warm fresh baked scones left at our door an hour before breakfast. N/A
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (10/5): We had a great time. We definitely go back there again. - We had a lovely stay at the Wilson guy house. The house was beautifully done to fit the period. Maria was an exceptional host, very accommodating and she made the most delicious breakfast. The coffee outside of the our room in the morning was a great treat. Could not ask for a better location. Would definitely go back again.
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was a really nice person and made the best breakfasts using her European cooking talents for our benefits extra trash can in bedroom
- Joe (10/5): - The best location and the best host, we stay here everytime we go to Niagara on the Lake because of those 2 main things. Maria is an outstanding host, the property is literally right in the middle of old town and try and find another B and B with a Pool!
I cannot say enough great things about our stays at the Wilson Guy house!

- David (10/5): A unique B&B experience in NOTL - A beautifully furnished historic building and gardens with so much character. The location (steps from downtown) was fabulous for exploring NOTL on foot, yet quiet and restful. Maria was an exceptional, friendly host, providing daily tea delivered to our door on a silver tray, followed by a delicious freshly prepared patio breakfast which differed each day! N/A
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - The proximity to the centre of town was excellent, and the historic decor was in keeping with the age of the home.
- Brian (5/5): A convenient location - We liked the location, It was a short walk to the main street downtown and restaurants.
Maria was friendly and tried to be accommodating with our larger vehicle. We were not able to enjoy the highly rated breakfast since we needed to leave for a long drive home before the 9am breakfast time.
We were disappointed in the amount of parking (2 car spaces in the rear of the house). We had a very large passenger truck and Maria was very shocked by the size. She very kindly let us park in the driveway. There was no on-street parking without paying hourly.
The house decor in the bedrooms is dated - 70's and 80's wallpaper, tile, etc. We have stayed in historic inns in Williamsburg, VA and east coast USA, and they maintain their historic "feel" with modern amenities.
Beds were not comfortable, but this is a very subjective opinion.
- Hemphill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Randy (10/5): Well worth every penny - Beautiful place big bedroom great food friendly hosts and great location.
