- Oleksii (9/5): - Location is great, 20mins drive to Lake Louis ski resort. Two stoves, one fridge. The fireplace is awesome! If one guy would not be snoring all night, that would be even better.. take earplugs with you!
- Margherita (6/5): - The location was great, the kitchen was well equipped and I liked that they had a bonfire and a barbecue grill. The was a fly problem in the bathroom, there were like 5 dead flies in the toilet and 5 in the shower. There were no plugs in the rooms, so if you wanted to charge your phone at night you couldn't use your flashlight to get to your bed at night. Rooms were also cold.

- Joelle (7/5): Accomodant pour une nuit. - Localisation.

A localização é perfeita. Excelente custo benefício, cozinha limpissima super top.
- Chan (8/5): Really cozy hostel, kitchen was great, and common area was also super cozy and welcoming - Super beautiful location

- Elin H. (9/5): - The quiet, foresty area around was great, as the hostess! A little bit busy in the dorm, late night, but that was maybe just my night company.

- Vita (7/5): - Location was good. Price was cheap. They had big fridge. Place to store your items under the bed. Some people would leave behind some food or shower items like shampoo and body wash - so everybody could use it. You can use new towels every day :) Obviously sharing room with at least another 10 people of the same gender is different. I'm very sensitive in my sleep. I'm only sleep in complete silence.

- SHERIF (9/5): Second stay in lovely hostel - Second time to stay there
Nice place and good location to discover Banff and lake Louise Nothing
- CHAO FENG (6/5): - 服務人員態度佳 火車經過聲音很驚人
- Park (10/5): Wish I had stayed here all days I was at banff - Location, cleaners, cuteness, quietness, wilderness Nothing
- Anna (1/5): Don’t stay here. - It was a pure disappointment Staff was just terrible.
- Bondar (9/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Perfect stay - Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Small family oriented hostel in the nature.
Excellent price, always super clean, everyone was so respectful.
I stayed 5 nights and enjoyed it so much !
- Sofiia (9/5): Would definitely recommend for a stay - The location is absolutely perfect—close to everything and super convenient. The hostel was very clean and well-kept, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. As a fun surprise, we even spotted a bear on the property (from a safe distance!)—definitely a memorable experience. Would absolutely recommend and stay again! The only downside was that there’s just little kitchen with one sink, so it could get a bit crowded at times. But overall, everything else was great and we’d definitely come back!
- Cheniece (10/5): A lovely hostel and great stay. - Good location, friendly staff, well equipped, good amount of social space and the dorm was spacious.
- Nicholaus (8/5): Very good -
- Vince (8/5): Very good - Lovely lounge with cosy seats and fireplace! Men's washrooms are a bit tight.
- Maria (8/5): Nice stay in Banff NP - Nice location in Banff NP. Bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy. Fireplace in the common area was great. Very friendly staff. Beds are bit uncomfortable due to the plastic cover of the mattress.
- Sam (7/5): Good -
- David (6/5): Potentially great stay but made bad because of some guests behaviour - The place itself and the service were great actually. Beds are comfy and you cannot beat the price. Clear instruction were given about the place and how it was to be run by the guests. The winter condition with the new snow during the night made the landscape a very nice postcard and very magical place especially with Christmas around the corner. The guests are what make or break a stay like this. Few people were snoring loud but with so many people, statistically it was to be expected. This with every hour a train passing by made it difficult to sleep. It became a mess when some guests arrived at midnight. Check-in is closed by then but they came in it means they had already checked in. They made lot of noise talking, ignoring the quiet time and guests sleeping. They were also visible drunk and at least one guy could not resist vomiting in the bedroom. Maybe the hostel can ban them from coming again. Better luck next time I hope.
- Ngamjit (5/5): go away from this place - nothing staff and facilities
- Anna (9/5): Superb - A really nice and little remote (you need a car to get there) place in nature with access to the lakes and hikes. We really liked the cozy common room with the fireplace in the middle and Shawna was a lovely host :)
Kitchen and bathroom were always clean and well organized and there's even a washer and dryer available. We enjoyed our stay, thank you! :) no small rooms, only a 12 bed dorm for each, male and female
- Taylor (7/5): Good - Had all the basics, very cosy vibe. Incredible for stargazing
- Clare (7/5): Decent for a hostel! Great location, clean, safe, and respectful. - Staff are really nice and everyone was actually very respectful of the quiet hours (which was very nice). The bathrooms are relatively clean for how many people were using it. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/plates/kettles..etc. things you can use to cook. There was always space to sit somewhere. Area is also very quiet and nicely located between lake louise and banff. Lounge area around the fire is nice. They also get you to take off your shoes up front which helps minimize the dirt trekked in. It's a very weird, strict, and late check in time from 5pm onwards (literally no one was there/doors were locked) and there are no staff during the day. Bathrooms, albeit minimally clean, were very wet. The dorms can get very hot esp if you're situated right next to the heater. So a central fan would be nice. Parking can also be limited depending on how well other people park. Not a huge deal but not the most pleasant when you have to walk 5 mins in the dark to grab something from your car. The mattress also has a sort of plastic (?) wrapping around it that makes it very hot.
- Artemhavrylenko (7/5): Good - Convenient place, quiet and calm The kitchen is a bit small for that many people. There were no shelves for shampoo in the shower
- Edita (8/5): Very good - Great location. Lars, who worked there was very friendly and willing to help, to answer all the questions about hikes around. Kitchen fully equiped.
- Hojoong (9/5): Superb - Nice location, good place to stay in Banff park as a hostel. (This is dormitory, be ware of)
- Estelle (7/5): Good - cheap, convenient location between Banff and Lake Louise people sleeping in the common living room
kitchen too small for the amount of people
- Rik (5/5): Nice location but not a warm welcome - It is a youth hostel so it comes with all the positives of that. You can meet great people from all walks of life and you normally pay a reasonable price. It also comes with some negatives of being a youth hostel. Nosy people wanting to join in on conversations, uncomfortable bunk beds and the likes.
We had to wait some time before someone was checking us in, and we found the check in process not particularly a warm welcome. For what was offered we found the price too high, even for a hostel.

- Arpita (9/5): Very economical and its a cozy place. - Amazing location in the wilderness.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asit (8/5): Very good -
- Stefan (10/5): Very peaceful, away from the crowds - Nice and cozy place. Very peaceful and away from the crowds. Not too many people stay in the hostel at once, so it felt like a family. (There is one male and one female dorm)
Installations were very clean and organized. The hostel manager was nice and friendly. The beds could have curtains, so that everyone could sleep better and have more privacy.
- Sampoorna (9/5): Superb -
- Pietro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beata (7/5): Good - The host was very nervous as she has had a visit from a management and chased us from the accomodation on the dot of the checkout also treating us like school children checking how clean we leave the bunks and cleaning facilities. Felt stressed and did not manage even finish the breakfast before our next leg of our journey.
- Jan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Monica (8/5): Nice hostel in the middle of the nature - The room is well organized, spaces very clean and the common area is very nice and comfortable! Staff is very nice and available for questions or suggestions. The hostel is in the middle of the nature. There is the railway close to the structure and you could hear trains during the night.
I really reccomend the hostel anyway.
- Pablo (9/5): Superb -
- Yu (8/5): Very good - Good price for staying in Rocky. You need your own vehicle to reach there, but it is very ice place to stay. NA
- Ida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (10/5): Friendly woodland stay - We loved the friendly, communal vibes. It was super clean and the host was friendly and helpful. The fire was a lovely touch and the kitchen had everything we needed including free tea and coffee! Would definitely stay again.
- Frenchybutworldcitizen (10/5): Dreamy, homey and affordable hostel - Cute and remote location, very cosy and good atmosphere, feels like home, chimney is nice and warm, you can tell people staying there feel like a family/ friend group. Very clean, all the equipment you need, comfy bed. Nothing, everything was perfect
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -

- Quan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mauro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katja (8/5): Very good -
- Zachary (1/5): Bad - Your representative emailed me saying there was bike storage - there is no such thing at this location. The host was helpful and let me know this is an issue with poor communication coming from booking.com and not the hostel itself (which was great).
Don't lie to customers.
- Dmitrz (7/5): Good - amazing place. in the middle of nowhere, near to some nice hike routes you should know that there is no official way to get to the hostel by public transport. you have to ask driver of the bus which go to Johnston Canyon or find someone. on the back way bus don`t will stop at the hostel neither
railways near, so need to expect that sometimes you will hear trains.
only one charger in reception room for all devices, didn`t understand why they didn`t put it to dorm but whatever
- Stephen (10/5): Hostel Castle Mountain - It was in a beautiful stunning quiet location ALL the staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful
The hostel was very clean and very comfortable to stay in
- Ferran (9/5): Superb - Nice location, easy to reach but secluded enough to escape the crowds. Serviceable kitchen and washrooms/showers, and an outdoor fireplace that's close but not too close to the main building.
Friendly staff and patrons. They've added WiFi relatively recently.
Given the alternatives in the area, the price/quality ratio of this and other hostels in the Rockies is automatically quite good, so take that into account when interpreting their ratings. Train passes close by, so you'll definitely hear it.
- Marta (10/5): We loved it. - The common room was awesome and the kitchen is very well equiped. The beds make a lot of noise when someone moves or wakes up.
- Margaret (10/5): will definitely stay here next time when i am in the area. - with all lodging been so expensive in the area in peak season, this is a wonderful place to stay for one or few night for small group especially solo traveler. location is great and very close to few trailheads if you are a hiker. shower is really clean and laundry on site is a big plus with only CAN5 per wash/dry. bedroom door make noise with every opening which kept waking me up all night with people going to the bathroom throughout the night.
- Sanchaya (10/5): Exceptional - A cosy and clean place. I love to visit here. None
- Laure (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aitor (8/5): Very good - Excelent and good value for the money, except from the staff, terrible experience
- Hoi (9/5): Superb -
- Théophile (7/5): Good -
- Daria (10/5): The best hostel in my life! - Elizabeth was a fantastic host. She made us feel like family and we really appreciate her local guidance and care about all guests.
- Yi (1/5): Everything is perfect except sleep. - Nice place. Great stuff. Perfect location. Can’t sleep all night due to people snoring. Booked two night but checked out next day and booked a hotel in Calgary in order to have a good sleep Location. Cleanness. Friendly stuff.
- Teri-anna (9/5): Superb - The hostel was very cozy and gave off that cabin in the wood type of type. Very easy access to many hiking trails. It's an incredible place if you are looking to enjoy the Rockies while being able to have the opportunity to escape the tourism of Banff in the evenings. The parking situation was a little squished, but not anything that caused a hindrance to the trip
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Nathanael (10/5): Highly recommend - Shauna was great, lovely cozy cabin, it was excellent.
- Venika (8/5): Very good -
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- Trenton (8/5): Very good - I really liked the value for your money. It was also nicely tucked away in a forested area
- Trail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fintan (10/5): Great host and clean accomodation - Great affordable space for people to stay close to Banff. Elizabetta was a fantastic host and did a great job of welcoming people and maintaining the condition of the place. I wasn’t so sure about staying in a hostel but this put my pre-conceptions to rest. Would definitely stay again!!
- Christine (7/5): Clean, affordable stay at a no frills accommodation. - Check in was fast and easy. Elizabetha (staff) was warm and accommodating. The train went by many times at night. I know that the hostel doesn’t have control over that but something to be aware of.
- Roy (9/5): Awesome - The hostel was cheap and comfortable Staff could be better
- Roberto (9/5): Recomendable - Todo genial
- Aleksandra (9/5): Lovely stay at cozy hostel - - location that is not far from Banff and other places on my list, but far enough to not feel busy/touristy

- wifi, running water, bed sheets
- nice common areas to relax and socialize in
- איתמר (8/5): Very good -
- Viktorio (9/5): Superb - Great value for money and extremely tidy facilities and common areas. They even gave us a towel
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - I recently stayed at a hostel and had a great experience. The place was nice, and the owner was friendly. It provided a great opportunity to meet new people and exchange experiences or ideas on places to visit. The accommodation offered Wi-Fi and showers. I highly recommend it to others!
