Guest Reviews
- Georgia (8/5): - Rooms were awesome sized and very clean. Restaurant was closed on site. It would have been nice to eat without going back out again. I had stayed here before and ate there in the past and it was very good.
- Don (8/5): I feel comfortable staying here but at check in time there was no one here. Had to call and wait. - I like the room and staying here, Sometimes there is no one at the front desk. The grill is closed.
- Megan (9/5): - Clean rooms NA
- Gary (4/5): Personnel (Viccki) was very nice; however, value for money was a 1 out of 10, needs major upgrades. - Viccki was extremely nice, pleaseant and kind. If it were not for him, this hotel woud not have received any positive feedback. He was very friendly and nice to talk with upon our arrival. He offered us his cell phone number if we needed anything, which was a nice touch to our visit. Electrical outlet in room was wired in a way that if you turned off the lights, the TV went off as well. TV very complicated to operate, need mini instruction course to figure it out. Rooms were semi-clean, needs serious updating. Found dry blood on sheets. Shower head very low, soap was brittle and old, and we did not have enought for our stay. Ice machine needs clening. No security on outside locks. There was a smell in the hotel that resembled Indian cooking, perhaps curry? The breakfast was something that I used to eat when I was in survival mode, the bare basics, stale bread, old stale ceral, cold gravy, cold eggs and the milk was undrinkable. The worst of it - when I tried to book the room, I got three different prices, one for $78, one for $88 and the final cost for $100. Out of frustration, I called the hotel and got what appeared to be a call center in India and the person said that those rates were expired and the best rate they could give me was $154, which I believe was a pure scam. I ended up with the $100 per night rate after having my brother re-booked it for us. I told Viccki about the booking issue upon our arrival and he appeared sympathetic, but did not offer any solution or upgrade; he did say to call him directly next time we visit and he woud get us the $78 rate.
- Charles (7/5): This was good location for my mid-trip from Minnesota to Jefferson City, MO. - The room was quiet and spacious. The breakfast was fine. Parking was convenient. Some of the furniture was pretty worn and the bed was a bit soft for my back.
- Robert (8/5): - Staff was very nice about checking in delay.
- Derek (4/5): - The coffee was good. The hallways and rooms stunk like Curry. The smell hit you in the face as soon as you opened the door to the hotel. The breakfast was the same breakfast everyday all week long. When I say same breakfast, I mean same breakfast. They added more eggs, gravy and potatoes when they ran low but never disposed of the old ones. Same with they rock hard biscuits.
- James (3/5): -
- Jayson (10/5): -
- Michael (5/5): -
- Mary (5/5): - It was noisy, and there were dirty washcloths in the shower.
- Frank (3/5): Functional for a place to sleep - Room was decent comfortable and clean No amenities. Breakfast was non existent. Guessing the grill/restaurant was closed cause the lights in the hallway to it were dark and cold.
- Mike (5/5): May not stay there again - No bar. Not real clean.
- CARL (3/5): - You need to hire a " true Handyman". The facet in the bathroom needs to be screwed down.
The fan in the bathroom needs to be fixed. It makes a lot of "NOISE"............You should never have a Guest tell you this. Your cleaning ladies should be reporting this to Management..... NOT a guest. The TV had directv and another channel. I have NEVER seen this type of service at a hotel before. That is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
- Denise (7/5): -
- Gingerich (9/5): -
- Carol (10/5): - Nice clean place..stayed here several time..great restaurant with great staff.. Everything was good..
- Rodger (6/5): - Brunch was advertised at the Motel but it didn't happen.
- Brooke (8/5): -
- donna (5/5): saw staff once when we checked in they must be short handed - breakfast was good for a small motel furnishings could be updated
- Dean Knepp (9/5): -
- john (8/5): - Showed up real late no problem very neat and clean. Good breakfast and lots of coffee.
- Monica (6/5): -
There was no one at the front desk for check-in. Then you had to decide which of the 2 phone #'s posted was the one to call. Not very cordial welcome. Rooms smelled funny. Bed was uncomfortable and room just didn't feel clean. AC either froze us out or the room got stuffy & the smell came out more. Wouldn't rate it anywhere near what it was rated.
- Debra (4/5): Probably would not go back - Shower and bed Breakfast
Stale cereal
Watery gravy
Bad coffee
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Holly (10/5): - Very impressed. Would stay there again if we ever get the chance
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Davis (4/5): Someone else's room - Quite They gave me somebody else's room and I walked in to all their stuff in the room.
- Don (10/5): - Loved the location. The TV remotes are hard to navigate.
- Matthew (10/5): - Newly renovated, was clean, comfortable, nice sized rooms.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very friendly staff, was very clean and rooms were big. Breakfast
- Joshua (10/5): - Comfortable spot. Thank you.
- Marc (10/5): - They have completely remodeled the entire motel from the rooms to the restaurant. I didn't even recognize the new rooms
- Kimberly (8/5): - I like to support smaller businesses, as long as they are clean; and that is what we got. They were in the process of updating the rooms, so they are definitely trying to keep up. All of the staff were extremely friendly. We would definitely stay again.
- Lynne (5/5): -
- kelly (8/5): - nice place
- Teresa (8/5): - Adequate for an overnight stay. Towels and shower curtain could use updating. The refrigerator in our room was so loud we had to unplug it so we could sleep.
- John (10/5): - Nice motel. Old but nice. Very very clean. You're in the country so things like a gravel parking lot or lobby/cereal/coffee bar can be seen as charming. No one on duty at the time of check out 8:30am. Dropped the key in a basket on counter. I would definitely stay there again. The only reason for a 3 star on the property ... some of the furniture needs to be either throne away or given a quality repair. Did I mention the place was very clean?
- John (6/5): - We needed a place to spend the night on a long trip we were on. The place could us some refreshing.
- Jonathan (6/5): - Room was clean but grounds not well kept and decor very dated. Breakfast is very minimal. Probably would not stay here again.
- Sherry (8/5): Very good - Location
- Soppe (7/5): Good - Called and insisted the time we would be getting there. Telling them in a couple hours wasn't good enough they demanded the time.
- John (8/5): - All was fine
- Jerry (10/5): A nice place for a small community. - This is not a hotel chain. It is individually owned. Our room was in one of the pics of the king sized bed. It was clean and bright. These are fine rooms. I read reviews saying the rooms are dark. Not true. I read a review saying there was no where to plug in a phone. No. There are outlets. We were pleasantly surprised. My husband had sausages and cereal with coffee at the free breakfast. We ate at the restaurant. There were community locals there, also. Don't be afraid to stay here. There are no coffee makers in the rooms; but there's coffee in the lobby.
- Chester (6/5): Complaints - The toilet lid and seat were only attaches on one side till i attached the other side. The shower curtian rod was bowed down, and should be bowed down. Those funky wall lights should have individual switches as well as the main switch. The refrigerator and the TV should not be on a switch. There is no coffee in the room.
- Carole (9/5): Restaurant was good! - Clean spacious room. Staff was helpful and friendly. A very large hold was placed on my debit card…350$ for a 2 night stay. This didn’t include the amount charged for the room. Hold Still isn’t off my card.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The South Fork has been around for years. Staff was very nice, room clean, a nice place to stay. There is plenty of parking. I will stay again.
- Beth (6/5): - Basic motel off the road. Clean. No frills. Mattress left something to be desired. Room lighting poor. Very few outlets. Electrical tape holding wall lamp together. TV: cable box hanging behind tv, did not work with remote. Baggie of stained but ‘clean washcloths’-stated to use for makeup-off putting. Bath Towels-very scratchy. Exterior entrance-not locked. Anyone could enter. Continental breakfast-coffee, weak and flavorless. Food choices limited
- Mike (6/5): Clean and comfortable, but breakfast was sad - Clean and relatively comfortable.
The "continental breakfast" was a joke!
A couple containers of dry cereal, a fridge with a handful of milk containers, and cold coffee.
- Daniel (2/5): Very poor - Breakfast? There was no breakfast...a few random cheerios and a not much else. No yogurt, no fruit.....
- Pamela (6/5): - Property is what it is. Nothing fancy. Sub par breakfast and cold coffee. No coffe in room. Used it for a place to sleep and it work for that. Bed was comfortable.
- Sheryl (10/5): - The management was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Very convenient location at a major junction. We would stay here again.
- Donald (2/5): - Considering I stay at 75-100 hotels a year, I have never left a bad review. However this place earned their review.
Pillows are hard foam pieces, no local tv channels , breakfast stale dry cereal with warm milk, exit doors are not secure at night. No staff on duty and don’t answer the number you are instructed to call.
Definitely a joke of a hotel
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and homey like Nothing like it all and restaurants next to it.
- David (3/5): This place needs a bunch of changes and upgrades or it will go it out of business. - N/A Smell of the Hotel was terrible. Cooking some food. Towels and shower curtain were discusting.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Nice place for the price. Very clean. Yummy rolls for breakfast.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Very professional staff friendly pet friendly clean rooms awesome restaurant
- Katheryn (8/5): Very good -
- Aukes (9/5): Plan on staying there again - Th was no road noise. Location was great. Big room, very clean Not enough outlets. Could use some USB ports
- Kathy (7/5): Restaurant and Banquet room highly recommended, Hotel family Budget - Location, food at restaurant, good value rooms need a upgrade, bedding very dated, electrical was weird one switch turned and ran three things in room. TV channels are not very good choices no local channels. My sister got bites every night we stayed four nights poor thing I we think it was bed bugs gross! Would recommend to workers and maybe families looking for a budget hotel.
- Betty (10/5): - Older not well kept
- JEFF (8/5): - We were here for a party in the motel party room. Checked in early and enjoyed party. After we ate at the restaurant, the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Just question billing as they placed a double charge on stay. After check out it showed only 1 billing.
- brad (6/5): - only there one night to sleep.
- Ian (8/5): - Clean and spacious rooms. Onsite restaurant is nice. Desk staff, while very kind, can be scarce.
- Jeffrey (1/5): Bad - Nothing The place was dirty, dead bugs on floor. We was given a room. We unpacked then found out tv was not functional so we had to repack and move. It was a total disaster
- Brent (8/5): - The Motel was clean and comfortable. The light switch inside by door controls all lights and TV. Also, they turn off the refrigerator when not occupied, so you will need to reach in and turn it on. Overall, very nice property. I wish I had been able to try restaurant.
- Phillip (10/5): Clean and quiet - This is a older individually owned hotel that you can tell all the staff take pride in keeping it very clean and well kept. The attached restaurant has very good food at reasonable prices.
- Carolyn (8/5): - Good no-frills accommodations for the price. Should provide a continental breakfast with more choices.
- Monte (2/5): - This hotel was unacceptable to stay in. Arrived on Sunday, and informed there was no restaurant available and only a few tv channels to view which did not include any local/national channels for local information. Everything appeared old and dark. The person at the desk was helpful and supportive of our decision to cancel our stay. We did not stay there.
- Joseph (9/5): I would recommend this location for any traveler. - Service and portions were excellent. The food was great. The restaurant was crowded which is a good indication of freshness. The waiting staff were very polite, efficient and experienced. I would recommend this location for any traveler unless they are snobby and used to higher-class accommodations. The motel is older, so it has a bit of a nostalgic dampness. Needs a little tlc.
- Denise (8/5): - The only problem I had was that breakfast was supposed to start at 6 and nothing there at 615
- Diane (10/5): - This place is not new, but it is well cared for and updated.
- Wanita (8/5): - Clerk was great. Room was clean. Placement of Fridge and Microwave was not very good. Light by door was by bed and also shut off fridge and microwave. Brochure said complimentary breakfast at restaurant, but restaurant didn't open until 8:00am. There was minimal breakfast in lobby.
- Tara (8/5): - Nice place. Very cozy. Loved the old key style rooms.
- Clifton (8/5): Southfork - Motel was clean, staff were friendly and room was comfortable. Only drawback was restaurant was closed all weekend. For a motel in a small city with not very many other options that was a big drawback.
- Tiffany (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (6/5): Pleasant -
- Desiree (4/5): - The issue with this Motel is that it’s very dated and no COFFEE! Staff was friendly enough but at almost $100 a night - not worth it. Sorry( kudus to the Grill Nextdoor though)
- Stefanie (10/5): - Very nice hotel, loved how they had a restaurant connected to the hotel and it was so good. Bed were comfortable and loved how roomy the room was
- Lori (7/5): not bad but not great 😞 - restaurant on site made visit very convenient.
Parking to accommodate large horse trailer
easy to find
Easy check in process. all doors were unlocked - door on room only had a door stop on the inside (locked from outside) and no other locking mechanism.
No coffee in room.. not able to make coffee for very early departure.
Room clean but very outdated... especially the bathroom. Shower head lower than typical.. i am 5'6" and had to crouch under shower. The entire facility- although clean - was outdated and had a musty odor throughout.
- sheila (6/5): - WiFi is sketchy
Otherwise they stay was fine
- Vicky (9/5): Superb -
- Allysa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (8/5): Very good - I like there's a restaurant on site. That's very convenient and very good as a matter of fact.
- Ames (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (8/5): Nice stay - Great location, quiet, clean and good parking. Restaurants on location. Restaurants was closed on Sunday.

- Mike (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miller (7/5): Good -
- Russell (7/5): Good -
- Georgia (7/5): Good - Restaurant being in the facility was nice. I had to turn on my TV just to drown out the room next to me. They were loud or thin walls. Always a gamble wherever you go.
- Matthew (8/5): - All was superb except the quality of the bed mattress, shower, and heat lamp. Rooms were limited on personal device charging wall ports. Super clean, quiet, convenient.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carrie (8/5): Very good - Bed was comfy and room was quiet. Better breakfast offerings would make a big difference.
- Charlie (5/5): Passable -
- Martha (10/5): Perfect - Good Couldn't have our kids
- Downing (8/5): Very good -
- Huff (9/5): Superb - I feel like for that price it should have included breakfast
