Guest Reviews
- Eric (8/5): - Handy. Clean. No heating. Broken.. Shower drain was blocked
- Erin (8/5): Convenient stopover - Off street parking Plug points in room limited near bed for charging
- Kim (7/5): - Value for money, easy to check in. Very clean. Bed was a bit too soft for me. Only Rubbish bin was in the bathroom. Not too much of an issue. Stayed for one night.
- jacqueline (2/5): Hideous establishment - Bed was comfortable Noisy, extremely cold in unit with small inefficient heater. No electric blanket as stated. The shower framework was a disgrace and there were exposed wires and plugs behind the bed pillows
- Howard & Julie (8/5): Was great, would stay again. Thank you đ - Being close to amenities. No issues.
- Pamella (8/5): -
- William (8/5): - Comfortable beds and everything was convenient and well thought out Nothing
- Ena (8/5): Will be back, good value for money, very central and beautiful customer service from staff!! - I love how cosy it was, I very much loved how close it was to new world and town central, everythingâs in walking distance. The room heated up fast which counteracted how cold it was outside. Loved that there was a conventional oven and stovetop. Wish the bathroom was a little bigger, the spacing is quite tight fitted.
- Shanan (4/5): - Room was cold the heater supplied was too small to heat the room. Inter tenancy walls are thin kept getting woken by neighbours
- Mike (8/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Good base for local activities - Good location, had everything we needed. Nothing
- Frank (8/5): - Central to everything
Comfortable bed
Friendly staff
- Wendy (7/5): Clean and comfortable. A little older style so donât expect everything to be brand new but very acceptable. - Very central with a Supermarket and MacDonalds across the road.
- Courtney (9/5): -
- William (9/5): - very quiet and clean didnot find any unhappy
- John (7/5): Basic unit, good value for the price - Room was clean and tidy.
Comfortable bed We had to rummage around the unit to find an extension cord to plug in the electric blankets

- Chris (7/5): Good location for our activities at Forgotten World Adventures. - We were given an upgrade with 2 separate bedrooms. Clean and comfortable. The bathroom needs more hooks for towels and clothing.

- Caroline (10/5): Excellent - The room was very clean, beds were comfortable. Excellent value for money. Receptionist wasn't very friendly, but everything else was great.
- David (5/5): - The location. We were booked on a tour based out of same location. The bed was Freddy Flindstone hard. Half the power points didn't work. Tiny room. Noisy, both from other guests and traffic.
- Michelle (10/5): Recommend this motel â€ïž - Staff were friendly and communication with them prior to arrival was really good. Rooms were clean, they allowed for early check-in as my whanau were travelling from Auckland.
Location is fantastic when travelling with kids. Shops next door, petrol station across the road. Convenient for the whanau.
- Tia (8/5): Very comfortable will stay again - The location & how friendly the staff were
- Robert (9/5): Great value for money - Convenient location, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff, very comfortable bed, spacious room. Weak shower
- Brenda (7/5): Older style but has everything you need, with comfortable beds. - Handy to town Trains running close by made it hard to sleep
- Amanda (9/5): Hotel and tour combo a great deal - Comfortable room with great amenities. Nice hot shower. Across the road from shopping centre and next to many restaurants. Perfect for the night before the rail cart tour
- Aaron (7/5): Great location for the Lost Railway with Friendly Staff - The location and staff were brilliant for the lost world railway carts. The bed was comfortable. The room and facilities are fully functional, but very dated.
- JossHam (8/5): -
- Debcol25 (8/5): Downstairs comfy warm room - Adequate room, bed comfy, had everything you need for a short stay. Bathroom very compact. No electric blanket as advertised.
- Ferro (8/5): It met all our needs quite adequately. - Nice and clean. Nice and warm Space in the bathroom was a bit tight eg opening the shower door blocked the door into the bathroom which was quite narrow in itself.
Kitchenette also quite restricted in size
- Angela (8/5): Great place - handy location - all we needed - Comfortable bed - all we needed
- Andrea (8/5): Good - Just a small motel room. Ideal for 1 night. A bin in the room would help.
- Coburn-Levae (9/5): - Love love sink in kitchenette
Love table and chair area
Love arm chair 1. Hear other customers arrive after hours.
2. Door room, though locked, there is approximately 1 inch gap between door shut and door frame. ? May allow cold drought in and heat out.
3. Shower unit requires something to keep water in shower unit, only a slight camber in place.
- Tairaki (8/5): - Clean and comfortable, breakfast available on-site (pre-order). New World, BP, McDonald's across the road. On main street near shops. Rooms are pretty small but worked well for overnight stay. ( couples or single room)
- Coburn-Levae (9/5): Comfortable - Everything Sink to fill kettle, facility to wash dishes
- Amy (8/5): Choice - Watm No facility to wash dishes or fill kettle
- Marg (9/5): Great place to stay before the Forgotten World Adventures rail trail 2 day trip. - We had a lovely big room and bathroom which was new. The staff were great . Bed very comfortable. All good
- Kevin (9/5): Mighty fine. - Location, tidy, well appointed. TVâs too small.
- Sarah (10/5): Will try do a tour next time đ - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean comfy room We didnât stay long enough
- Sam (10/5): - Clean cosy comfy Nothing
- Dawn (10/5): It was just an overnight stop. - A very basic dated motel room but very comfortable, clean and convenient. The woman on the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
- Sherry (8/5): -
- Ray (6/5): -
- Rufus (7/5): - It was a comfortable bed and opposite a grocery store. We loved the fresh bread the included in their amenities. The furniture was warned out and old.
- Geoff (7/5): -
- John (8/5): Great âold schoolâ motel in central location - Central location, friendly staff, clean and tidy and great value for money. There isnât anything I disliked about it. It is an older motel with old bathrooms etc but comfortable and good value.
- Kym (8/5): -
- Di (9/5): Great location for a forgotten world trip. Staff excellent - Excellent location for following day trip on Forgotten Railway. Staff were fantastic when we were leaving and found we had a flat battery -THANKYOU ! The rooms served their purpose but a bit dated. Room 8 was a bit noisy as next to the laundry room and stairway to the office
- pammytours (9/5): - Convenient location nicely presented Strong smell of insect spray on arrival, noticeable traffic noise
- Louise (8/5): Clean, perfectly located, comfortable stay. Recommended! - The hotel is central to town, the tour begins at the doorstep, parking is directly at the motel rooms, the motel room was very clean. The room is very dated, but kept immaculately. our room had a double and 2 single beds in a very small space. As we only needed the double, we could have done with one bed less and gained a bit of relax space.
- Emil (6/5): -
- Rihi (8/5): -
- Leanne (8/5): - Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Shower head was quite low.
- Anne (8/5): - Knives spoons etc provided but really no where to eat.
Plenty of car parking. Was fine but dated.
- Debbie (8/5): Served our needs. Great brekkie - Proximity to departure point for the rail cart journey. Water pressure and the over soft pillows
- Mary (10/5): Very pleasant, quiet and staff friendly. - Very much. Nothing.
- Murray (5/5): -
- Elke (8/5): - Convenient and comfortable accommodation for our Adventure the following day. Staff very friendly and accommodating with breakfast for our group of six. It wasn't the hotels fault however roadworks outside the hotel until 11pm was challenging for sleep.
- Irene Betts (8/5): -
- Andrea (9/5): - Bed very comfortable and very clean unit Shower was quite low for my tall husband but that's just trying to find something
- Debbie (5/5): - comfortable bed the room is so very dated. The facilities were minimal and old (kitchen facilitiies and bathroom), It really needs to be gutted and refitted with a workable kitchenette and vanity in bathroom.
- Gillian (8/5): - Was a very good experience, the room was very clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast was really good. Would definitely recommend the place.
- Pete (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Great location - Great location right opposite the supermarket. Secure parking for bikes. Comfortable unit, surprisingly quiet even though it's on the main street. Facilities are a little tired.
- Phillip (5/5): - The location but nothing else. If you're stating the night to do your Forgotten World Adventure tour it's passable but the rooms need an update. With the cheapest ticket being over $300, they really should invest a little into the rooms. Shower is rubbish, broken doors and laughable utensils make it just good to sleep in then leave.
- Jon-micheal (10/5): -
- Dawn (5/5): Passable for amount paid but wouldnât stay there again. - Good location and handy for tour start on Forgotten World Adventures. Beds and pillows were horrible. Very uncomfortable and not much sleep achieved.
- Dominic (8/5): - Great starting point to the forgotten higway. We liked the room since it was spacious enough for two and it was clean. You can hear loud neighbours.
- Paul (7/5): - Location No Screens on windows
- Adrian (6/5): - A comfortable bed after a day on a golf cart in the Forgotten Valley Rough parking area
Dated stove with no controls for element heat
- Laurence (7/5): Convenient for âForgotten Highwayâ rail cart tour which was fabulous. - Great location Room very small, no heating, facilities VERY basic.
- Phil (8/5): -
- Nicolette & Shaun (9/5): -
- Jeanette (7/5): -
- Miel (7/5): -
- Ray (7/5): Great Location with a variety of adventure options available. - Location was excellent for our visit. We were early and they accommodated us without any extra cost. Overall it's a nice motel. A plus is the Adventure options you can arrange with them. The shower door is in a terrible position. Can't open the shower door with the shower mat on the floor.
- Bradley (5/5): We were cold, no heating - Location No heating.
Tv remote didnât work.
PowerPoint in bathroom kept turning off
- Roland (8/5): - Die WĂ€nde sind nicht gut isoliert. Man hört ĂŒberdurchschnittlich gut die GerĂ€usche aus den angrenzenden RĂ€umen.
- Carole (8/5): - Parked right buy our entrance
- Meredith (7/5): Suited our purpose - close to booked tour. - Walking distance to town centre. Staff lovely. Free car parking. Rooms clean. Bit dated - time for a face lift.
- Sutton (6/5): It worked for what I needed. Thank you - Handy location for an overnight stay when you have a long way to travel down the north Island. Facility was clean, comfortable and had everything needed. The door of the unit did not stay shut. I awoke with the door wide open in spite of locking it behind me before going to sleep.
- Colleen (10/5): This motel was a perfect place to stay when doing the Forgotten World Adventure. Exceptionally clean. Very comfortable b - Central, easy to find, very very clean. Comfortable bed. There wasnât anything negative.
- Nigel (9/5): It did what it needed to do and was super convenient for the tour in the morning - We arrived late at night and left very early in the morning.
Room was clean
Bed was comfy
everything was as it should be No green folder with notes on accommodation etc in the room.
- Alan (8/5): Great for a one night stay - Spotlessly clean. Nice and quiet. Tea making facilities very cramped.
- Sandra (8/5): -
- John (8/5): I've stayed there before and enjoyed both the motel and location -
- Deborah (5/5): - Location Unit was old and tired
- David (7/5): Good place to stay for a night to break up a trip to Auckland - comfortable bed, clean. Limited kitchen, too small.
