Frank (6/5): I loved the staff and the location. But you are overpriced for what you offer by way of amenities. - Location is great. Your staff are all really wonderful. Not enough water pressure for the shower. The breakfast is not great given what we have to pay for it.

Due to somebody being sick and vomiting all over our room. ShinGokuIAM (10/5): Very nice quiet night - I stayed here on February 11th, just to have an easy access to the Metro so I could see Nine Inch Nails at Capitol One Arena. It was a very easy walk from the hotel to the metro. I got here super early and I didn't think the hotel would sell out the night before, so I had to wait a while for a room. The room was very nice, quiet and spacious.

Susan (3/5): This place was not a hi end hotel - Never answered the phone. No meals available. The ac went off in our nephews room and he had to go to another hotel.

They said they knew that the heat wasn’t working in any of the rooms and offered us a space heater. It would have been nice to know when or before we checked in. Management lacks integrity at this location. BUYER BEWARE!!

Melissa (2/5): Last minute change - I was in town to do hair and go to a wedding. My reservation was changed last minute to a sister hotel so I was never able to stay here, where I was originally booked. I was not pleased but there was no offer of compensation for the inconvenience.

Told by front desk sold our over booked ! come on , had to have an uncomfortable roll away bed placed in room for my friend as he did not want to sleep with me in the ONE queen bed in our room. For the cost I paid unacceptable ! One ply toilet paper , no note pads pencil or even a pen. Just got ambushed came from Arizona to this not acceptable. Get better , Find A Way stop being cheap to your customers.

The location allows me to be close to public transportation, but avoid the noise of the crowd. The staff were SUPER friendly and attentive. See you again soon! No breakfast buffet, but I understand. The hotel’s location gives us tons of dining options.

It was late so I opted to have dinner at the hotel and the server was wonderful! The area is safe, lovely with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We understand there isn’t breakfast available at this type of Hilton, although the food that was offered was too pricey for what it was. We haven’t a chance one night and the food is extremely sub par. I also felt bad for the kitchen staff. They made breakfast each morning and not one person took advantage of it in the 4 mornings we were there. $19.95 for a basic breakfast!? I was disappointed, we would have eaten at the hotel if it were more reasonable for 5 of us.

kevinkorell (10/5): Very nice stay in Alexandria - I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member, and as such I enjoy staying at different properties within the Hilton portfolio when I visit a particular city or area. Alexandria has 4 such places within a few blocks, so I do try to spread the wealth on my visits to the city when I use Alexandria as a stopping point during a longer Amtrak train trip. I had stayed at this HGI once before, but it was time to revisit. As always I checked in via the Hilton app the day before arrival, and chose my room. When I got there, the went right to my room and didn't need to visit the front desk (nor did I ever throughout my time there). On a very hot day the room was comfortable and cool. Climate control, as well as TV and WiFi, were easy to handle. Plenty of space in the living area, and a comfortable bed that allowed for a good night of sleep. Bathroom was good size with ample counter space and no hot water issues. Dinner and dessert in the neighborhood was a few minute walk away. In the morning, checkout was again via the app. No breakfast since I had a train to catch home. Overall this place comes recommended; when the time comes around I'd stay here again.
A8740ODsaraw (4/5): HVAC issues - Our late June visit was during a time of extremely hot temperatures, and the hotel's HVAC wasn't working. I understand things happen, but we kept being told it would be fixed for sure by a certain time, then wasn't. My low review is because they offered no assitance in relocating us. We ended up having to find another hotel to stay at the first night, then came back, then the HVAC broke again, so we relocated again, this time for the remainder of our trip. We weren't offered any hotel suggestions, no assistance, etc. It heightened the stress of our much anticipated vacation.

I had stains on my sheets which looked to be either makeup or blood and after alerting the front office it wasn't taken care of for multiple hours. Tiny flying bugs like gnats and fruit flies in bathroom/around kitchenette area. Entire lobby area was FILLED with flys and gnats, from the bar, to the tables, and even into the back of the lobby just in the chairs. There was no good place to hangout unless you wanted to put up with that. The trashcans in the lobby when you would toss trash into them would have dozens of flies fly out - it was disgusting.

We called the front desk and they sent up a technician who had brought us a fan and said they had been having trouble with it and what a fan suffice. One fan and 100° weather was not gonna work we said are there any other options at first they were not very helpful and then they finally offered a room on the top floor that we could move to. a lot of anxiety not a great experience. We thought our entire weekend was gonna be ruining because of it. Finally, the manager did do the right thing by letting us move up to a more expensive room, only finally to tell us that we would not be charged at all for our stay because of the inconvenience that we were put through, however, it took several hours for us to get to that point and we were in limbo and a lot of time. We had to change our personal plans that we had counted on. We had to miss out on because of the inconvenience and spent time looking for other options at last minute

C295ORshelleyw (10/5): Great location, clean and the BEST employees! - By far, the best place to stay in Old Town Alexandria. The rooms could use a little updating but are very clean. The biggest asset in this hotel are the employees. Everyone from housekeeping to Brandon at the front desk to the two valet workers were helpful and attentive. I only ate once at the on-site restaurant but the guy who seats people for breakfast obviously loves his job and it shows. I was travelling solo and felt safe at this hotel.

Whenever you need your car, you go to the front desk if the valet isn't present, and they will call the valet for you. The front desk people are really nice too. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
Colin (4/5): - We stayed 3 nights with 2 rooms. My 89 year old dad in one of the rooms. The 3rd night we had no air and no lights in the bathroom or hallway. My dad uses a walker and can not see very well and he also has a prostate problem causing him to use the bathroom. He called my cell at 2:00 in the morning and i had to go to his room because he fell and needed my help. I tried to get another room for him before this happened and they said they would get back to me. I explained this the the front desk when checking out ans he said we would hear from his manager. We have yet to hear from anyone!

Whoever checked me in had no idea what they were doing, ultimately leading to a safety issue of some random other person being given a key to my room. Valet is mandatory and an additional $40/day. Lame. Pillows sucked, bed was uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend staying here and I don't plan on returning to this hotel after these experiences.

It is ideally located next to the bus station and the Amtrak one, and on a quiet street just steps from the Main Street where all restaurants and shops are.

The staff was a little bit overwhelming with their comments during checking in, also the maid was very nervously knocking for the check out before time. No detachable shower is a common thing in US , I like shower that can go places.

Jane (10/5): Exceptional - City view room 5th floor was amazing! Everyone was so nice and helpful It wasn't easy for me to see what hours breakfast was served when looking at menu placard in lobby area. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right place.

Katherine (6/5): - Solid stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Can't beat the location and the value compared to other similar tier hotels in the area. Beds are not super comfortable, but the cleanliness of the room makes up for it. I appreciate receiving texts from staff about my stay, a typical part of the HHonors experience. Our favorite part was walking on King St and getting ice cream nearby.

Keirsten (8/5): So close to great, but... - First the great: Aziz and LaTonya were very friendly, very helpful and went above and beyond to help make our stay the best possible. The Hotel is in a great location, street is pretty quiet, but close enough to walk to a lot if you choose. The hotel and rooms were clean. Now the not as good: Definitely do not stay on the 5th floor. We ended up just below the gym and people working out, bouncing medicine balls, dropping weight etc woke us up at 6am - not a good start to the vacation. Thankfully, we were moved down to a room on the 3rd floor which was much better. The other items that were less than perfect for me were 1) the beds and 2) the climate control of the room. I was surprised at how uncomfortable I found the bed since we just recently stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn in Brooklyn and those beds were wonderful. This may be a personal thing though. The climate control in the room was difficult to master. It is the type of thermostat that needs specific instructions. We woke up sweltering and then freezing. Although it's is a good spot, we had a tough time with actual sleep, personally. Again, this may just be us.

xeniar400 (10/5): Excellent experience - I recently stayed at this hotel from April 4-6, 2025, during a family trip to see the cherry blossoms and visit the DC monuments with my grandchildren. The experience was wonderful and truly memorable. At the last minute, I booked an additional room as a surprise for my other daughter and granddaughter who were driving down from NYC to join us for the day. Unfortunately, they weren't able to stay overnight, and I was initially frustrated about the non-refundable nature of the booking. However, the front desk receptionist Kiara Blair and the General Manager Caity Warren went above and beyond to assist me. They were both incredibly professional, patient and kind helping me navigate the situation with empathy and grace. Caity's efforts in particular turned a stressful moment into a positive one. As a diamond member, my expectations are high, and I'm happy to say they were absolutely met during this stay. Thank you for ultimately providing the refund. Barbara (10/5): - Great location just one block off of King street. Near the Metro. Free trolly on King Street. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Staff were so friendly and hotel was very clean.
