On s’est retrouvé à rentrer dans l’hôtel par les toilettes de la cafétéria du rdc, puis des couloirs et 2 escaliers tellement d’exigus et raides qu’il a été difficile de les monter avec des enfants en bas âge. La chambre avait un sauna et un jacuzzi en plein milieu?! Aucune intimité pour se doucher car le jacuzzi est au milieu des lits. Pas de tapis de bains juste une bouche d’évacuation dans le sol. Et le sol n’est parlons pas : du caoutchouc?! Les serviettes de toilettes étaient toutes tachées on on a retrouvés des perces oreilles et cafards dans la chambre. Bref hôtel à fuir qui ne correspond pas à un ***

Les 4 serviettes de toilettes étaient tachées. Il n’y a pas de lampes de chevets ni bouilloire. On a retrouvés des perces oreilles et cafards dans la chambre. Très mauvaise expérience qui ne correspond pas à un ***
- michael (10/5): GREAT Value - Great value for the money. Excellent location . 10 -15 minute walk to everything. Room size was adequate for a couple. Wifi was EXCELLENT and nice hot showers. Will definitely stay again. Staff very nice.

The women is really kind, fast and simple in the advices, but i think the price is really too Much For a room like that ! Maybe a romantic trip is not the appropriate set to stay, even if with some Friends with which share the Price could be different!

- EY (4/5): - This was the smallest room I've ever stayed at a hotel. Unfortunately since we had just travelled from a different continent and were looking for a temporary stay while we look for an apartment had a lot of luggage. With 1 double bed and 1 so-called twin and with 3 people in the room it was like canned sardines. Some other rooms looked slightly bigger but for some reason we ended up with the tiniest. Luckily it was ground floor so I was spared the weight lifting. Last 2 nights the HVAC system did not work (had to manually reduce the mechanical heater to cool the room down) No microwave in the room and staff would not replenish the coffee/sugar etc without being asked. Never got extra pillow/comforter either even after asking. I have lived in all sorts of hotels/motels and in a few countries as well but this was literally the most claustrophobic experience of my life. For 100+ EUR per day I do expect a slightly bigger room. This is not central London or Tokyo

Er werd netjes gebeld vooraf om te informeren hoe laat ik zou arriveren en ik kreeg desgevraagd info over parkeren en waar ik me moest melden voor het inchecken (in de cafetaria onder het hotel). De voorzieningen zijn schoon en netjes en alle benodigdheden zoal vermeld zijn aanwezig, maar geen extra luxe. Ik sliep alleen, dus er was bijv. maar 1 kussen. Info duidelijk vermeld op geplastificeerde bladen in de kamer, maar in het Engels en minimaal. Geen extra info gekregen over de mogelijkheid van een ontbijt, wel te lezen via de site en op info kamer. Heb dus ook geen gebruik gemaakt hiervan.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Too narrow bathroom - While the location is great, our family room had four beds, one of which was lumpy. My main complaint is that the bathroom was so narrow that I had to do gymnastics to get undressed. No kidding! Also, knees will touch the wall while on the toilet.

There was no sign for "Hotel-Chao," bc the hotel consists of some rooms above a small diner/cafeteria. Otherwise, the place was clean and worked for us. This place was more expensive than the 4-star hotel we stayed in another college town in NL, so I wouldn't say it was the most cost-effective. But it worked fine for the one night we needed a place in Utrecht.
- A (4/5): No frills hotel - Staying at Hotel Chao is very much a no-frills experience. The hotel essentially consists of some rooms that are connected to a takeaway restaurant/cafe. There is no front desk or reception; keys are collected from a member of staff within the restaurant. The staff are nice enough and were willing to bring food to the room. The bedroom and private bathroom were clean and tidy and my sleep was peaceful. There was, however, a little oddness with the bedroom: I was staying there alone but there were six beds (four singles and a twin bed) in the room. This meant that the room was a little cramped. No complaints other than that.

- AJ (8/5): A 20 minute walk from the centre and very clean - We were happy with the room which while very basic was very clean and comfortable. Little natural light but it's only a place to sleep so that was ok. Staff were very helpful.
- arno (8/5): good and cheap place - Good place for a short stay, close to bus stations, less than 10 mintes ot the Central Station and the area is quiet. The staff was friendly and took phone contact on the same day.
- Kam Ping (8/5): Cozy stay - I only stayed there for a night, the staff was very friendly and helpful, downstairs was a restaurant operated by the family. Easily accessible and quiet surroundings, the teapot and teabags provided made the stay very homey.

Good explanation of important info and always around to assist if needs be. Had a balcony on my room, which was nice in the brief moment of sunshine but also welcome as able to smoke without having to trudge out of the building. Clean comfortable and a good size room.
