Guest Reviews
- Carlos (10/5): - Yes
- Rose (10/5): - Penelope maybe I spelled her name
Wrong was super friendly , she was one of the two ladies at the front desk that was very kind . We were placed in room #2 this last time but we prefer #19. Feels more of a suite and far from the rest of the motel. Like more privacy. Staying at #2 had more noise from the cleaning staff.
- Mary (8/5): Great customer service’s - Very quaint and feels like a retro place. The room was clean and bed comfortable, however it could use a little updating. There was no usb port and there was a little rust in the bathroom sink. The best part was the friendliest and most accommodating desk clerk I’ve encountered. I was in town for a wedding and asked for an early check in which was met with a smiling “oh sure!” Even though it’s not the fanciest place, it was so nice to experience such friendly customer service. I would stay there again.
- david (10/5): - Nice place. Good price. Friendly staff
- Kathleen (10/5): - A very quaint, family-owned motel. It was very clean, all the basics! Staff very friendly and helpful.
- James (10/5): - Clean, inexpensive, and centrally located
- Jason (10/5): A Paso Robles Gem - This is the only place I stay when I visit Paso Robles: friendly service, clean rooms, and comfy safe accommodations. The Melody Ranch Motel is a gem.
- Kimberly (10/5): Very charming motel - The staff was extremely friendly. Felt like a good old fashioned experience. So charming!
- Carolyn (10/5): - The property is old-fashioned and quaint. The pool is awesome. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are comfortable. It is so reasonable, and the staff is lovely. I always try to stay here. : )
- Steven (10/5): - The Melody Ranch Motel is mid-sized, vintage, property that is a gem.
- Mayy (10/5): - It’s family owned and take pride of the motel.
- Donald (10/5): PERFECT centrally located, affordable clean quiet - I always enjoy staying here. Yes, it’s an older motel, but it is VERY nice. Everything is always clean and in great condition. It’s family run, and that really makes a noticeable difference. They take a great deal of pride in the upkeep and cleanliness of the motel. Also, everyone working there is very friendly and helpful.
Melody Ranch is a short block and a half from the town square. Upon arriving, I had no need to drive anywhere.
An extra special bonus feature is it’s literally right next door to one of my favorite restaurants!
You won’t regret giving this little gem a try!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Although older this property is very well kept. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and you couldn't hear the noise from your neighbors. Plus very conveniently located. It was less tan aten minute walk to restaurants and shops.
- Holly (10/5): - 3rd generation owner who cares about your stay. They are helpful and kind! Gave suggestions on where to find stores and restaurants.
- John (10/5): Great value! - Lovely family-owed retro budget motel. Squeaky clean with daily room service. Very convenient, short walk to all of the downtown attractions. Completely with the money!
- Scott (10/5): - Staff is very nice. Location is great.
- Bernard Neal (8/5): Wine a little in Paso - Mix up on getting an ADA room but desk clerk made it up to us
- Belinda (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Deanna (10/5): - Always immaculately clean and so affordable for such a great location and comfy bed!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little find in Paso Robles - Great place for our 1 night stay. Vintage 50’s style motel vibe and the front desk folks were so nice and welcoming. Room, towels and bed were clean. Bed was comfortable. Walking distance from downtown shops and restaurants.
- Ann (10/5): - No frills basic, comfy bed, super friendly staff. Clean and easy.
- Brad (10/5): Great Old Style Motel - Clean, well operated, great location and fair price.
- Nancy (10/5): - Old original motel that has been treated with lots of TLC. Lovely staff.
- JULIAN (10/5): - Eazy check in
- Angelina (8/5): - The owner was very hospitable and welcomed us like family. He made the experience even better.
- Cindy (10/5): - Immaculate and friendly staff. The room was dated, but this is an old motel. The bed was comfy, the pillows were great, the shower was strong. There is nothing fancy at all about this place, but it's homey and very convenient. Would definitely stay here again.
- David (8/5): - Clean
- Ramon (10/5): - All excellent, the beds 🛌 very conforming and the room very clean
- Monique (10/5): - Staff was super friendly & accommodating
- Marie (10/5): - Cute no muss / no fuss motel in Paso Robles within walking distance to downtown w/ shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Hotel has a pool, free guest parking. Rooms have coffee maker, small refrigerator, air, Wi-Fi. Not far from mid state fairgrounds and Vina Robles amphitheater.
- BILL (10/5): - Great location, right next door to a nice Italian restaurant, a coffee shop and a steakhouse. The hotel is in a great downtown area, quaint town...
- Liam (10/5): Nice Retro Style motel - Nice Retro Style Motel from yester-year.
Warm friendly staff, very informative on areas to visit.
Over all it’s at a great location, good value accommodation.
- Lisa (10/5): - 👍
- ANNETTE (10/5): - Wonderful family owned Motel. I would stay there again & again
- Madison (10/5): - The spot was clean and had a nice charm to it! We enjoyed the pool. The beds are comfortable. The spot is walking distance to the park and stores and restaurants nearby. I recommend!
- Tom (10/5): - Very comfortable, clean, great location near town square and restaurants. Friendly innkeeping family owned for several generations.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Cute place. Nice ppl and the room was clean & comfy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wouldn’t stay here again. - The good: the lady who checked us in was so friendly and allowed us to check-in early. It felt quite safe and overall cleanliness was good considering this place has “Bates Motel” energy.
The bad: the air con in the room works, but it is incredibly noisy. Even though we didn’t have ours on for this reason, every time the next door room’s AC kicked in, it was noticeably loud. There’s no safe in the room, which wouldn’t be a problem, but the door lock is a traditional twist-pin which doesn’t feel secure enough.
The ugly: If this place had comfy beds, then I could look past the more-old-than-retro styling. The mattress really needs changing - you sit on the bed and can feel the divan underneath you. When lying down, your head is actually lower than your feet because it’s so saggy.
All of this combined with our stay costing $206 for one night, feels very expensive for what you get.
- John (8/5): - A good hotel for the price point and its star rating. It was clean — don’t expect much, but it was convenient and easy for a quick overnight stay.
- Frank (10/5): - Very retro, 50's or 60's built property, but very well maintained and clean. It was like going back in time. The staff was welcoming and wonderful. I will definitely be back again and again. My new favorite hotel in Paso!
- jose (8/5): - Comfortable bed,
- Jeremy (10/5): - Very close to downtown
- Jessica (10/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Maria (8/5): - The staff was quite fiendly and helpful. I did encounter a water bug in the bathroom. it was a big size cockroach. Other than that, it was convenient and clean. I requested an iron and an ironing board and it was provided for me before my arrival. The staff was polite and I liked how they gave me a call before my arrival to confirm my stay. Very nice and friendly staff. I would stay here again in the future.
- Carol (10/5): - Second time staying. Simple but very nice.
- Clifford (10/5): - Old school, comfortable bed, friendly folks, a block from the downtown location, location, location.great price
- MICHELLE (10/5): - Lovely & quaint!
- John (10/5): - Lovely place
- April (10/5): - Great little motel! Property and rooms are very well kept up. The whole place was very clean and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept better than I usually do on the road. Easy walk to all the shops and restaurants around the plaza. Plan to stay there again.
- Aryan (10/5): - clean
- Randall (10/5): - Older Classic motel. Clean and comfortable. Parking spots could be a little wider. I have a F250. Will use them again on next trip.
- Arthur (8/5): - It was generally very nice. The room and property well kept, fast wifi, convenient socket locations. But the mattress was punishing. As someone with a bad back it made for a bad night
- Barbara (10/5): - An excellent stay at a clean, safe, family-run motel!
I stayed 2 nights in May. I found the property to be very clean, my room well-maintained, and the sleep quality excellent. The motel is set back from the street so that noise didn't interfere with my sleep.
I appreciated the friendly staff, who are all members of the family who has owned and run the establishment for decades, or their close friends. As a solo traveler, I appreciated their personal touch.
I'd highly recommend this motel to those looking for a pleasant stay in a part of town with a lot to do and see.
- Lukas (10/5): Great location in Paso Robles for a good price - Clean room, comfortable bed, with TV and coffee maker, and very peaceful (nobody above the room), well-located setting. Very kind people at the office : thank you for the pastries ;-)
- Lisa Ann (10/5): Love retro motels - We love 50s-60s motels, because that is the era in which we grew up. The retro tile bathroom and exterior were very nicely done. The pool looked very clean. Would definitely stay there again.
- Hans (10/5): Great Motel - New favorite when we are in Paso! Very friendly and nice staff and place.
- Jason (10/5): A Delightful Gem - We’re definitely returning to the Melody Ranch Motel. The service was great and personal. The room and grounds are clean, quaint, and well-kept. It is nestled in a prime location in Paso Robles: near restaurants, coffee, gas stations, grocery stores, bakery & doughnuts, and one-of-a-kind shopping. Above all, the cost is remarkable and experience memorable. Don’t hesitate to book your stay! The Melody Ranch is a delightful gem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean vintage motel in the perfect location to downtown Paso Robles.
- Carolyn (10/5): - It’s so refreshing in its simplicity and retro feel. It’s just very simple and meets the needs and it’s very reasonable. The people are very, very nice.
- Ken (10/5): - Great location for a great price. Close to restaurants/tasting rooms.
- Barbara (8/5): - Staff were great! Bed was comfortable!
Hotel and room were old and need updating
- David (10/5): - If you like old school motels then this is it! Clean and comfortable and RIGHT NEXT TO DOWNTOWN. Nothing fancy but comfortable with so many dining options and the large park a block away.
- Jaimme (10/5): - The best retro place ever!
Frank the owner and all his staff are the best!
- Carol (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay. Everyone one was friendly and helpful. I plan to go back.
- Tom (10/5): - A vintage motel that has been updated. It is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable, close to downtown, and above all the owners and staff are great people.
- Brian (10/5): - Its really nice well- maintained dated comfy reasonably priced. Perfect!
- Thomas (8/5): - Great staff
- Maria (8/5): - Not fancy but clean and quiet. Perfect for walking to all the food dining around the park!
- alan (10/5): - Family owned for 65years in town, quiet, very friendly and pleasant to deal with rates are good especially compared to comparable hotels have stayed at 2 others this one is the best
- Masashi (10/5): - Great location and great hospitality!
- Peter (8/5): - Everything was great except there could have been coffee for two people instead of just one. And there was no hairdryer. Other than that it was a very good value for the money.
- Warren (8/5): Clean room, good value, decent location - The motel is a fairly good value, but possibly because it was mid-week and off-season. Even so, it was affordable. I chose this motel because of its location, close to the Paso Robles Downtown City Park. My only complaint on location would be the noise from Spring St (a main thoroughfare) and the occasional sirens from the nearby police or fire dept. The rooms were very clean and nice. One complaint which may have been an issue with just my room was the frequent and loud creaking (which may have been due to the cold outside temps and the use of the furnace...which also made some noise). For the price, worth the stay, but may want to keep away from unit 21.
- David (10/5): - Always clean and safe. Friendly staff. Great location. Walkable to the square and many restaurants.
- Donna (8/5): - Nothing fancy. Decent place for the price
- Jovis (10/5): - 💯
- Garrett (10/5): Cutest Little Inn - Very friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Super clean and fun view of the street.
- Manuel (10/5): A Quaint Paso Robles place to enjoy. - Melody Ranch is not only a great place to stay, but a place that has charm and a home like feel. Melody Ranch is so very close…walking distance…to shops, stores, restaurants, a movie theater and a quaint park. There are also a few wineries within a walking distance. If you want to take a drive in a beautiful country setting, then the entire area of Paso Robles has so many amazing wineries, with amazing tasting wines!
- Vladimir (10/5): - Easy in, easy out. A simple accommodation that was super friendly and a great value
- Donald (10/5): Take a step back in time... - A wonderful old school motel! Everything was in very good condition and spotlessly clean. Nice and quiet too!
The lady at the front desk was amazing. She offered great suggestions about what to do, in the area, and what was happening in town that weekend.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great
- Paul (10/5): Good deal, great location! - Great location very close to the city park and restaurants. Clean room, good prices.
- Stacy (10/5): - It was nice
- Ray (10/5): - Greeted by the property owner who was knowledgeable about the are and a complete gentleman. Great spot if you want to walk around the DT Paso area.
- Carrie (10/5): - See previous review
- catalina (10/5): - Yy
- Erlinda (8/5): - Very retro look and feel. The room was clean, included a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and TV . The motel is close to the park , shopping and dining. All good things except the beds were uncomfortable (could feel the springs and had no support).
- Ian (10/5): - Great little hidden gem, great location, clean rooms
- Pavla (10/5): - Na
- Jeffrey (10/5): Quiet and clean - Clean, quiet, family owned motel. Comfortable bed. Easy walk to the park and downtown. Would definitely stay again.
- R (10/5): - Barbara and Rachel have been wonderful.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great place to stay - very nice staff
- Lauren (6/5): - It was fine… cleanish. Bring your own pillow if you can because the pillows are flat and used which is gross.
- Karen (10/5): - The perfect iconic motel located right next door to our favorite restaurant and a block from the square. Thank you for maintaining this gem.
- Patricia (10/5): - It is an old school motel which I recall fondly from my days as a cross-country traveler with my family. hope it stays that way as the years pass and doesn't feel the need to become an 'upscale experience', rather than the warm place it is. I will definitely share with family and friends. The grounds are beautiful
- Edward (10/5): - The place is clean and quiet.
- Adrienne (10/5): Quaint and retro - Melody Ranch Motel is a quaint, retro, small family run business that has been there for many years. We were greeted by one of the owners who was lovely. We entered our room with regular key. Our room was clean and comfortably small. It had a refrigerator and small coffee pot. The motel is within walking distance to downtown where there are plenty of places to eat and shop. Vina Robles is 15 minutes away. I’d definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - An older place but super clean. Greatbroice and 2 blocks from the downtown area. Great location.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Great hotel - Don’t let the price fool you, this place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the beds are comfortable. Best value in Paso.
