Guest Reviews
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. Very friendly staff. - Liked everything!! We only had 1 night. Should have been 2 or more!
- Hanna (9/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Park (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Personal freundlich, Parkplätze gut vorhanden, Frühstück für amerikanische Verhältnisse gut Ein No Go ist, das die Toilette nicht sauber ist, die Spülung erst repariert werden muss. Die Beleuchtung im Zimmer ist etwas dürftig.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional. We had a wonderful time. - The breakfast was delicious. Caitlin and Riley were wonderful. The room was beautiful and very clean. Would love to stay again. Highly recommend. Everything was wonderful.
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous stay! Breakfast was amazing and room was beautiful! - Quaint, historic, beautiful
- Patricia (8/5): - The Inn was very well kept and it's history well preserved. I was clean, cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect too. We were able to walk to the downtown shoos and attractions. The area rugs on top of the regular rug felt like a bit of a tripping hazard. Rugs on the stairs leading to the 3rd floor were unstable as well.
- CAMILA (10/5): Impecável para uma cidade histórica - Localização impecável, delicadeza nos detalhes e café da manhã agradável numa sala linda, todos os ambientes são históricos e bem conservados.
- Caitlin (9/5): Beautiful, convenient and friendly space. - Loved my stay! I would most definitely stay again. Parking was convenient and the house is beautiful! Check in was super easy and the room was very nice! The owner was super friendly and the free breakfast was maybe the best I’ve ever had. So many options and even a homemade frittata. Location was great. I would have liked the bed to be a bit more comfortable ,it was very firm, and maybe some fluffier sheets. The shower was also missing its shower head so it would have been nicer to have one attached. Otherwise it was nice, I just might give a different room a go next time.
- Amanda (9/5): It was wonderful, I’ll be back to bring my family! - The breakfast was great, thank you for providing a few things I could eat since I have a ton of allergies. The shower head should be changed, it sprayed water all over
- LISA (10/5): I had a great visit in Newburyport and I highly recommend this inn. - The Inn is so beautiful and very welcoming. The hostess was very friendly and I had absolutely wonderful stay there.
There were homemade cookies every afternoon.
The breakfast was amazing and very, very delicious I liked everything about the property.
- Deborah (9/5): - The woman who managed the breakfast was fantastics. Very friendly and accomodating.` No staff available when we checked in.
- Brett (10/5): - Breakfast was awesome 😎! Staff was great we’ll be back for sure. This place is close to everything in Newburyport
- Zachary (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): - The window shades need to be replaced.
- Veronica (10/5): Loved it! Will stay again - Very old historic inn with a lot of history and charm. So beautifully decorated for the Holidays. Loved the large living room with big cozy fireplace and books. Breakfast was great! Bed was uncomfortable, room was beautiful.
- Steven (6/5): Good place to stay when other B&B's are booked. - Close to the main shopping areas. Good continental breakfast with plenty of coffee. Nice roomy common area to read and relax. Paper thin walls where we could hear other guests talking and their TV's. Rooms were small with a small bathroom with little space to store toiletries.
- Stoddard (8/5): -
- Stacey (10/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): Beautiful Inn. Wonderful owners and staff! We have stayed here twice and would definitely come back and stay again. - It is in a great location and it is a beautiful building. They really put a lot of effort into decorating for the holidays which made our stay extra special! There was nothing that we did not like. We have stayed here twice and enjoyed the experience both times.
- Alison (10/5): Our stay was wonderful! - The Inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and it was just what we were looking for.
- Nena (8/5): Quaint and cozy historical property. - Excellent location. Quaint and interesting to explore the property and surrounding area. Breakfast had good variety and was delicious. Shower in Hale room does not have an adjustable shower head/stream. Difficult to use if you just want to rinse off but not be blasted. There is not a convenient place to put towel w/in reach when exiting the shower (door opens to the opposite side of towel rack). Queen beds felt lumpy and tilted towards the window away from the bathroom. May have been partially due to slope in the floor. Room was chilly at night.
- Rebecca (9/5): A wonderful - The inn was charming and just a short walk from everything downtown Newburyport has to offer. There were common spaces indoors and out to enjoy and nice touches. We enjoyed the delicious and fresh breakfast in the sun room.
- bahlenhorst (10/5): -
- Elisabeth (10/5): A very welcoming and friendly place! -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Gary (10/5): My wife and I enjoyed our 10th anniversary/ we will visit again - Catlin was a very gracious host. She made a great Coffee and breakfast spread. we were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants in town
- Christine (10/5): - Sehr schönes Inn in wunderschöner Umgebung, das Frühstück war sehr gut! wo
- Mary (10/5): Wonderful get away! Just what we needed☺️ - Location, and great breakfast & lovely staff The TV in the room
- Lucy (10/5): Location. Comfort. Charm! - Location: A few short blocks from lots of shops and restaurants in the charming downtown, the harbor walk, a CVS for sundries is less than 2 blocks away as well!
Comfort: The well appointed common areas gave a taste of NewEngland history. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of pillows. We traveled as a group of 4 and stayed in a 2 bed room. The shower was hot, with excellent pressure. The room was clean, well-cared for and comfortable!
Breakfast: The bright, tidy breakfast room was a welcome part of our mornings with plenty of hot coffee, tea, and food choices from light fare like yogurt parfait, a savory hot dish, baked goods and fresh fruit to choose from.
Our host puts care into presentation and her welcoming demeanor made our stay one we’d gladly choose again!
- Caitlin (10/5): - Historic Inn with charming decor, excellent breakfast, perfect location.
- Peck (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at the Clark Currier Inn. The home is beautiful, charming, and simply adorable. The beds are very comfortable and entire inn is beautifully decorated. I will certainly stay again on our next trip
- douglas baston (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): Snel vergeten.
Verouderde faciliteiten.
- Somero (10/5): Great, will return for sure. - They have great gluten free options for breakfast. They were friendly and kind. The location is perfect and the accommodation was very comfortable. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Debbie (10/5): - Everything was great except for the beds
- Victoria (10/5): - My husband and I stayed in the Merrimac room, and we enjoyed our three nights’ stay immensely! The hotel itself is a historic landmark and is very well maintained by the owners, Caitlin and her husband Chris. The breakfast in the garden room was plentiful and delicious. The onsite parking was a big plus, as was the location to all the downtown restaurants and attractions. We hope to return to Newburyport, and will definitely stay here again. Thank you Caitlin and Chris!
- Dale (10/5): - The Clark Currier Inn is the benchmark that I will use for all future B&B stays. The accommodations are very clean, comfortable, and convenient. The facility is very nicely appointed with the appropriate furnishings. Even though we appreciated everything about the Inn itself, everything takes second place when compared to the breakfast they serve. I can't say enough good about the food! We stayed three very comfortable nights here and were so happy we did. If we ever travel back to Newburyport, we will book this location again.
- Paul (10/5): - This is a beautiful old house from the early 1800’s full of interesting furniture, paintings and decor. I felt like I was comfortably living in the past but with modern air conditioning and internet. The location is an easy walk to most of downtown Newburyport. The inn atmosphere made it easy either to interact with other guests or to have privacy if needed. Breakfast was delicious and provided another opportunity to chat with other guests. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and especially Caitlin was gracious, welcoming and helpful.
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Keith (9/5): -
- Diana (10/5): - Great location for walking to main areas in town. The owners were fantastic and offered super fast response to questions. The breakfasts were outstanding! Very well kept older home; great community vibes.
- Diana (10/5): - Location, parking, environment, and staff/owner: all fantastic.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Marisa (4/5): - I can’t believe the reviews are so good. Our room was so dirty. Instead of having fresh baked goods which I’m used to at a b&b, they had Hershey kisses, which is fine, but there were 2 Hershey kiss wrappers on the floor of our room when we went in. When I went to pick them up, my tissue came up with a handful of hair. Breakfast was just ok. It’s like the bare minimum required to call it a hot breakfast. This place was a disappointment.
- Tina (10/5): Great Location! Sparkly Clean! Yummy Breakfast! -
- Judith (7/5): -
- Michael (5/5): Great location, nice staff/food; Tedford room was so bad that we would not return to this place - Breakfast great, staff responsive, downstairs sitting rooms very nice, perfect location in downtown NBPT. The Tedford room was a joke. Aside from not having been sufficiently cleaned, the shower and toilet were so small that a significantly overweight or very broad-shouldered individual would have difficulty getting in/navigating. The "hideaway TV" was stuck in the "up" position at the foot of the bed and could not be put down. The paint was chipping and wallpaper peeling in the bathroom. Did I mention the windows wouldn't stay open and had to be propped up with books?
- Sidney (10/5): - Easy check in, breakfast, location Tried to call to book, but no return call; shampoo, but no soap in shower
- Joanna (8/5): Delightful, but make sure the staff adjust the AC accordingly. Or don’t stay on very hot days! Lol - Close proximity to the shops and restaurants. Walking distance. Has its own parking lot. Very cool inside. Breakfast was delicious and they had port wine and cookies for guests at night. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. We were on the 3rd floor in the Tedford room. It was August and in the 90s that day and the air conditioner was not staying on consistently. We took a freezing cold shower at night just to cool off and were hot again almost immediately. I couldn’t sleep it was so warm. Eventually my partner went downstairs 3 floors and found the thermostat and turned it down from 70 degrees to 65. The air did kick on and it was fine after that. But the AC situation was dreadful and kept us awake. Stifling hot in that room if the ac wasn’t constantly going. Room did not have its own ac. The whole house is on one thermostat so I think the downstairs rooms stay cooler than the 3rd floor. Our only complaint. Everything else was clean, friendly, lovely and delicious.
- Christine (10/5): - We had a lovely night stay
- Nancy (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Quaint B&B - Very quaint and clean. Great breakfast. Room's should have cups and tissues in them.
- Sandra (9/5): - Beautiful Inn, great location with parking and a wonderful breakfast! That homemade yogurt - wow!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very uncomfortable bed - This inn is lovely to look at but the bed was terribly soft — my back may never recover. Horrible pillows. Very disappointing.
- Kim (8/5): -
- Jane (9/5): What a wonderful experience! - Loved staying in a historical inn! The room was lovely as was the rest of the inn. The continental breakfast was exceptional! Bathroom quite small, but expected when I saw the pictures online.
- Melissa (10/5): - We had a lovely stay in this historic home. Our room was quite warm with only a small fan. Window sashes broken so hard to prop open for ventilation.
Breakfast was wonderful. We would come again.
- vincent (7/5): Location and breakfast were perfect. The room however needs a little help. - Breakfast was good. Location was good. Easy walk to everything. Never needed to use the car. The shades in the room need to be replaced. They look 100 years old and are paper thin and terrible worn and stained. The bathroom door does not close completely. The wooden curtains on the windows to make room darker do not close completely and one of them was broken. The Clark room needs some tender loving care.
- Brian (10/5): Beautiful historic home and A+ breakfast - Amazing host and delicious breakfasts, loved the historic home and sense of coziness. Perfect downtown location walkable to everywhere!
- David (10/5): Peaceful stay - Quiet! Friendly staff, nice breakfast and daily chocolates. The Inn was historic and nicely appointed
- Lisa (8/5): - The weather wasn’t great but we had quite a cozy night in. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. Would stay here again.
- Karyl (9/5): Very nice stay - Beautiful historical property in perfect location. Spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. Breakfast was very very good. Husband has mobility issues and needed to be extra careful crossing raised doorway thresholds.
- Jennifer (10/5): Best Newburyport Inn - We love the Clark Currier Inn!! Great location, delicious breakfast, charming and comfy rooms and super friendly innkeepers! We have stayed three times, will be back again.
- Siobhan (10/5): - The breakfast was amazing and the staff were wonderful.
- Debra (8/5): - Older property, good breakfast, good neighborhood.
- Suzanne (9/5): great - great all around. Just wish there was a bigger bed. Queen would have been great. But no problems, staff was great, stay was great, breakfast was good. thanks...ray sinclair see above
- Richard (10/5): The Clark Currier Inn is a 19th Century mansion updated with 21st century amenities. - The room was beautiful.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great getaway
- wendy (10/5): We had a delightful stay. Beautiful room! - Love the Inn. Beautiful room and comfortable bed. Loved the sheets and bedding. Breakfast was good. Lovely setting! I enjoyed sitting outside in the Gazebo. So peaceful and serene. I highly recommend the Clark Inn I will be back.
- Deborah (10/5): - Second time at this facility. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast fabulous. Beds comfortable. Everything was wonderful very quaint!
- John (10/5): - The Clark Currier Inn is a gem! It is close to downtown and within easy walking distance of the waterfront and shopping. The renovated historic house has unique rooms and a charm all its own. It’s almost like staying in a European B&B. Caitlin the innkeeper is friendly and kind and she and her staff keep the Inn spotless. The breakfast is homemade and amazing! There were fresh cookies when we checked in and so many quaint common areas to sit and play games, read a book, or just relax. We will certainly be back for a visit soon 😊
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Location, historical significance, furniture!
- Michael (10/5): - Great stay.
- Karen (9/5): It was a comfortable quiet place to stay. - This is a beautiful property in a lovely historic town. Everything was clean and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. In addition parking was available. We enjoyed our stay here very much.
- Donna (9/5): Superb - Convenient location. Beautiful house with a wonderful breakfast Could use some upgrades to the bathroom.
- Berend (6/5): Cozy stay - Very nice property. Cozy feel The bathroom was small and uncomfortable. The bed was noisy and uncomfortable. Bed was small for queen size.
- Shalane (10/5): - Caitlin and her family are amazing innkeepers! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and hope to go back someday!
- Donna (10/5): relaxing - everything nothing
- Tarrant (8/5): Very good - the location was splendid. The house itself is like a living museum, with amazing 19th century furniture and decor The only hot entree was Fritattas, every day. So i you don't like them, breakfast is just meh
- Patricia (8/5): Would go back but ask for a better room. - Inn atmosphere was beautiful!
Breakfast was excellent. Room was small especially the bathroom.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was extremely good — lots of homemade dishes and good variety. The coffee was excellent.
- Nicholas (10/5): Frittata of Destiny! - Excellent setting, great accommodations, and wonderful hosts. The breakfast was fantastic too! Caitlin makes a delicious frittata. We couldn't stay longer!
- Christopher (10/5): Love the Clark Currier Inn! - This inn was beautiful and so incredibly clean! Amazing, it is so hard to keep a historic property super clean, but they do!
Breakfast was delicious, and location is great. Everything was great!
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Stay - What a beautiful historic property! Great location close to downtown, delicious breakfast, and a lovely host. Despite a rainy weekend, we truly enjoyed our trip to Newburyport.
- Laurie (10/5): Great location, lovely staff, nice breakfast. I was very pleased. - I was there for the Literary Festival and it was the perfect location. I loved the quirky decorations around the house. Comfortable beds. Not enough room around the bathroom sink for toiletries.
- Alexander (10/5): - A super charming place in a super charming town. We would absolutely come stay again.
- Robin (7/5): not long enough, but we’ll be back! - didn’t have breakfast, just coffee. neighborhood was peaceful and short walk downtown which was also great! Stayed in Bob’s room which had a nice size bathroom. onsite parking. breakfast area looked so warm and welcoming! place was very clean, but the lingering smell of bleach used in our bathroom was so strong we slept with the windows open, and it was a cool night!
also, bed too bouncy for me (side sleeper and I need something softer) but my husband slept well and had no complaints. would be interested in trying out another room…are all mattresses the same?
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): - I was very impressed with the quality and appearance of this lovely Inn. Highly recommended!!

Caitlyn was a great host, friendly & available
