Guest Reviews
- Geoffrey (8/5): -
- Daniel (6/5): Nice place just needed a little freshen up - Close to town Room was cold and had a funny smell as if the windows hadn’t been opened in a while but they did bring us a heater
- Rumjancevs (5/5): -
- Kristofre (1/5): -
- Hedley (6/5): - Very cheap and in easy walking distance of the town centre. Very basic facilities with a bizarre motion sensor light in the bedroom. There was also a very strange smell throughout the property. Just off the Oxford road area, which is quite characterful.
- Meghan (8/5): - I stayed here a few times for work, the staff were friendly and always tried to book me into the same familiar room. Everything was always perfectly clean.
- Adrian (10/5): It had everything I needed for a short stay. - Nothing was a problem, if I needed anything, as if by magic someone would appear.
- kevin (8/5): -

- AlexHR (8/5): Good for one night. - Parking, Location, comfortable bed. Something smelling in the room
- Fleur (9/5): Lovely place in Reading. Clean and comfortable - Good location, authentic, the staff were excellent, really quaint, nice shower Not the property fault but I arrived during a heat wave and the room was really hot especially at night as it has a really small window and I had a fan. As an Australian who lives in a hot climate I still found it difficult to sleep. But unfortunately not much can be done about it apart from installing expensive air con in the future.
- Kepheus (8/5): Very good -
- Liczman (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel is located close to the shopping center, nice staff at the hotel.
- Kumba (7/5): Good -
- Susan (2/5): Very poor - Not clean and tidy
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Proximity to my family.
Large, comfortable room.
- Sarah (8/5): Gods value , clean, basic hotel - Lovely staff, clean room, good WiFi A fridge would have been good as there is nowhere to get food or drink in the premises
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Jonxuezhang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Corey (8/5): Peaceful, comfortable stay, welcomed from the outset, great location - Amazing staff Some outdated decor
- Nikhil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): - Central with off street parking, friendly welcome and well appointed room and quiet location. Only disappointment was no breakfast option.
- Marc (6/5): - The property was adequate for my needs and i would stay again but when driving in the surounding area parking is very limited and most roads are no entry or no left/right turn
- Michele (6/5): Basic but clean and comfortable - I appreciated being given an upgraded room - it was basic but had everything I needed. Location was close to shops, restaurants and the local railway station so it was all walkable. On the downside, the internal sound insulation was poor so there was some noise from rooms downstairs. And the lighting in the room was very dim.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Great value place to stay. Nice people. - Off street parking, excellent price, really great welcome and service. Definitely will stay again if I'm in the area. Actually, there's nothing I didn't like. If I was being super fussy, I would say the shower curtain in my room wasn't quite long enough, and the hot water wasn't instant. Obviously, I am really trying to find areas for improvement just for the sake of the review. These are observations, not complaints in anyway as they didn't bother me at all.
- Andrew (2/5): Avoid avoid avoid. - Avoid if you can. Had no hot water. Was offer to go to a different room in the hotel to take a shower. Heating was very noisy. Room was dirty. No compensation given and no option to have a different room despite rooms being empty. Extremely disappointed
- Sumeet (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (9/5): Really good value, fuly recommended - Clean, spacious, nice clean bathroom, good wifi. Definitely would come back. The staff was very friendly and upgraded my room as I arrived late and it was the only vacancy. I traveled for business.
- Gareth (7/5): Good - Rooms are comfortable and are good value This was my 2nd stay and again my room was very cold despite the radiators working
- Gareth (7/5): Good find. Friendly owner - Attentive owner. Helpful and friendly The room was cold due to a radiator needing to be bled.
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Zhang (8/5): We had a very good stay - Good value for money , bed is very comfortable Facility is dated
- Vayollah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - Great location for attending reading festival, quiet peaceful stay with a very nice comfortable bed, large room with high ceilings. Staff very helpful, polite and kind.i would definitely stay here again The only thing I'd say is the pillows, could do with a thick pillow or more of the thinner ones.
- Dianne (6/5): - The recptionist had difficulty finding my booking which I had maade on the morning of the day I arrived. I was 'upgraded' to Room 1 on the ground floor which had a king size bed and a single crammed into the window space which prevented the bathroom door from opening fully. I had to ask for towels as there were non in the bathroom although I was told they should be in the cupboard. The room decor was a dingy brown colour with a brown carpet. It could do with an update! On a plus the bed was clean as was the bathroom. Tea and coffee were available in the room. There was an electric diffuser plugged into the wall which I switched off immediately as I don't like smells. It was impossible to lower the sound on the TV control.
- Poo20dee (7/5): Good -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristine (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and helpful staff
- V5541KUkevinw (10/5): Really glad we found it - My partner stayed in the hotel the first weekend of August and it was hot so having a fan in the room summed up the place - it was a really nice thoughtful touch.
Excellent reception with friendly staff. The place is spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.
It is competitive on price and it has a free car park.
It's a short walk to Reading West station and Oxford Road, with it's shops and cafes, is literally at the end of the road.
For my partner there is the added bonus that her son and his young family live two minutes walk away so she's planning to revisit before too long.
- Kevin (9/5): Really glad I found it - Very clean room with equally comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helpful and, as it is a short walk from my son and his family, I look forward to staying there again If it wasn't so close to my family it would be handy if some sort of breakfast, even a simple continental one, was available.
- E (10/5): Stopover - Simple, efficient. Nice room. We only stayed one night, as it was a family party that we travelled to. Hotel seemed to be empty/almost empty when we stayed.
- Jon (9/5): Superb -
- Joao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (10/5): Very quiet, very comfortable. - Staff was polite, room was clean and comfortable. It was just what I needed after a long day of flying. I don't really have any complaints.
- Kristine (8/5): Very welcome staff - Clean
- Cindy (5/5): Passable -
- David (8/5): Solo week stay - Lovely place, clean, comfortable. Friendly and attentive reception, and no-hassle checkout. Shower didn't ever fully drain out so getting in the next day was sometimes a little slippery. Minor issue really.
- Lee (8/5): Clean room. Good loaction. - Clean room. Good location.
- Lee (8/5): Clean room. Good location. - Clean room. Good location.
- Kaithakuzhiyilanand (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (7/5): Comfortable - Clean and comfortable room, we were given an upgrade to a bigger room which was appreciated!
Close to the train station
Friendly staff We only had one set of towels which we didn’t actually find until we were leaving as they were in the wardrobe, but no problem as we had brought our own.
Check in closes at 10pm so need to let the hotel know if you are going to arrive later than this
- Sabrina (8/5): Perfect for what we needed - Kind enough to let us check in early and upgraded our room. The staff were lovely and the room was great
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - Welcoming, clean and comfortable plus free parking. The decor was a bit old fashioned.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - The property was quiet and clean, with a friendly greeting.
For me it was a great location
- Peter (8/5): Good option for an overnight stay - Clean room, no problems checking in or out, not far from Oxford Road with lots of food options. It's pretty basic but relatively good value. Would be great if they did breakfasts.
- John (6/5): - I arrive early and had a warm welcome.
Unfortunately there was no breakfast available and the TV in the room was not working.
- Lucy (8/5): Comfortable stay - The room was very nicely decorated, spacious , the carpet looked as if it was very new. There was a large flatscreen on the wall so you could comfortably watch tv. The bathroom was very clean, there was a sticker to say the hotel was a green hotel to avoid water wastage which was a nice touch . The shower was spacious and was also immaculate, not one water mark on the glass door! The whole room felt very clean and well maintained . The first impressions of the hotel is it’s in a quiet residential it’s smart looking and on the corner of the road. Up the top of the road as you come out, the Gentleman on the reception pointed out very kindly there is a 33 bus which if your needing to commute to town for work is handy their approx every twenty minutes ie 7:03 then 7:24. To walk it , give yourself thirty minutes as the centre is not too nearby. There is however 2 minutes from the bus stop a train station so you have that option also. If your looking for somewhere with no night time noise , clean and comfortable, this is a good choice hotel. Nothing, after navigating the route to and from its a very good choice hotel.
- Jodie (10/5): Nice and smooth, with staff ready to assist. - Comfortable room size, bed and general utilities. The bathroom was a bit on the small side.
- Rujesh (9/5): Goood - Room was very comfort and clean.
- Jodie (7/5): Good - The staff were friendly.
The room was comfortable.
Location to the town center was also good. No decaf tea or coffee in the room.
Not enough toilet paper.
Shower was very small.
- Andrew (5/5): Not really worth the money - Nice off road parking very comfy bed very quiet. Staff friendly nice sized room. Very clean Decor outdated carpet not good to walk on very hard floor. Room was cold toilet very low down. Very early check out times most places are 11 am
- Grooney (6/5): Pleasant - Location was perfect for us. Breakfast in the morning would have been very convenient, nothing special if even tea, cereals and toast. At least it would be something to start the day with. As we were a couple, a double bed would have been better rather than a twin room. There were very few people staying there so it should have been possible.
- Romney (8/5): Very good - Comfy beds super hosts and location. Room temp was cool downstairs for my elderly mum.
Tea and milk needed replenishing which hosts did when we asked.
- David (7/5): I will definitely use it again in future - Good location from town centre
- Adrian (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Denis (4/5): Disappointing - The Location is good for access to Reading town centre Confusion over my booking of a Twin Room. The hotel was able to accommodate but I had indicated Twin when booking the room.
- Lac (1/5): Bad -
- Jerry (3/5): Waste of my money - 1. No heating in the room
2. Shower hot water control was absolutely terrible. Water is extremely hot and unable to have a shower.
3. Double bed I booked was uneven and uncomfortable.
I will never stay there again, total waste of money, should have gone with Pent house hotel
- Rujesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- hilary (8/5): - comfy bed, clean room, good shower.
website says there is breakfast but there is not!
- Paul (1/5): Terrible experience but we booked the wrong hotel. - After telling us that we wouldn’t be able to check in until 3pm on the second day of our stay, the ‘security person’ was able to sign us up at around 8:30 on the second day. We booked this hotel last minute and required a late check in, the hotel don’t provide this and responded by email to state that we would not be able to check in at the time we were arriving (however I was driving and only read the confirmation email from them). The check in desk had reportedly closed by the time they accepted our booking, so they took our money knowing that we could not get access to the hotel. Despite there being a staff member in the hotel when we arrived, we slept in our car on the driveway of the hotel.
This was unfortunate, and avoidable on our part- we had booked the wrong kind of hotel for our stay, however once the guy let us in at 8:30 I considered the matter dealt with.
When I came to check out the girl asked me how was my stay, there was half a moments pause where I said nothing before she launched into a rant about how it was my fault I couldn't get access on the first night and that the reception was closed. She obviously wanted to talk about it and berate me, I advised her I didn’t wish to talk about it with her and left.
- Martin (5/5): Served its purpose as somewhere to stay for a night - No breakfast: at £95 would have expected something on offer The double bed was way too soft and sagged in the middle and made for a bad night’s sleep
- Binoy (5/5): Passable - The reception guy was extremally helpful 1. The check in time , i was not allowed to check in earlier even at the day of the booking . The check in time was 1 pm.
2. No lift at the facility heavy bags carried all the way up to 2nd floor , the passage and stairs were cramped and the head room is minimal , sure to hit your head if your are tall .
3. The bathroom was cramped and the dry area always had water on the floor
4. No change of trash and even the towels during the 4 days of stay
5. Internet horrible will not work continuously
- Dalibor (3/5): Did not meet expectations - There was ample parking at the hotel.
The room seemed clean Does not do breakfast.
It's outdated.
Walls are very thin and I could hear noises from other rooms.
There was a smell in the room. I think it was the carpet.
Too expensive for what it is. I paid £119 on a weekday, which is on par with Hilton...a fair price is more like £45.
Pictures looked good and I really wanted the hotel to be nice
- Andrew (10/5): exceptional value - very clean throughout and private parking
- Shaw (10/5): the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. the room was comfortable and great value for money. the location was p - incredible staff, beautiful room, perfect location.
- Aram (7/5): Good -
