• Nanci (6/5): Cottage type experience - Breakfast was OK, nothing special. The hosts were pleasant and helpful. More like a bungalow experience than a hotel. The parking was right in front of the cottage. The beach was a 10 minute walk though a residential neighborhood. It's an average cottage type place. The accommodations and small and taking a shower was difficult. The beds are very short and small also. It wasn't too quiet as people were constantly talking, coming and going all around your sleeping quarters. The pool was small and in the middle of the parking area.

The beach is a short walk away and the bicycles and beach chairs provided were an added bonus. Our cottage was fabulous, nice and quiet, very clean and it had everything we needed! And breakfast was off- the-charts delicious!!! I have already recommended the property to my friends and family. I would definitely stay again. Nothing. It was perfect.

There’s a swimming pool, bicycles, nearby beach, breakfast room with full breakfast included, lovely outdoor patio with plenty of seating, small private cottages, rooms in the Inn and rooms in a small carriage house. There was even a complementary wine happy hour. The rooms were really well stocked with toiletries, linens, snacks, etc and the whole property was beautifully landscaped and maintained.

• Michael (10/5): Outstanding Inn - There’s an endless choice of places to stay on Cape Cod, but I doubt there’s one as perfect as The Tern Inn. The location is mid cape, so everywhere you want to visit is never far away. John & Lisa were perfect hosts, always smiling, they clearly enjoy hosting at their beautiful property. Our room (in the Main Inn) was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. There are some lovely thoughtful touches, all day tea & coffee (including take out cups) & naughty but nice treat bowls in the lounge and bedrooms. The pool area was renovated this year with comfy loungers, Adirondack chairs and cabana towels supplied. Breakfast was amazing, hot ramekin dishes prepared each day with fresh sliced fruit and a great selection of breads, muffins & bagels. We would highly recommend you stay here. Certainly not your fault that people take up 2-3 spots, but lines might help.
• Gavin (10/5): Our fantastic stay at the Tern Inn set the tone for a perfect holiday exploring Cape Cod. - We had a fantastic stay at the Tern Inn. John and Lisa are perfect hosts and the property is lovely. We wanted for nothing! Breakfast was excellent every day. Ice and water is available, and water bottles are provided since there are no small single use bottles allowed in the area. This thoughtfulness is reflected in the rest of the room, we had everything we could need. Plus there are beach chairs and bikes available to borrow. The location is perfect, with a beach walking distance and beautiful Chatham just up the road. We believe we found the perfect place from which to explore this amazing part of the world. Nothing, everything was brilliant.

Friendly and helpful hosts, delicious breakfasts, bikes for guest use (but no helmets, so bring your own). Our room in one of the cottages was very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

Not only the family owners are very friendly and kind ,it was very clean and wonderful decorated. The breakfast was fantastic and the bed and room were very comfortable. The Tern was centrally located in Cape Cod and exactly halfway between Provincetown and Falmouth. We had to drive to restaurants and shops. It would have been nicer if they were within walking distance, and we didn't have to take the car everywhere.

• Trevor (10/5): Peaceful and calm base to explore Cape Cod. - Everything! After the hustle and bustle of Boston - the Tern Inn was peaceful and tranquil. The owners are very attentive and offered good advice about what to see and do on the Cape. The breakfast was very good indeed - wide choice of food from cereal, fruit to cooked breakfast - all good fare. Nothing to dislike.

The couple who run the Tern are very nice and the accommodation was very well cared for and decorated. It was obvious that the owners did not compromise on decor and fixtures and fittings nor facilities. In fact the Swimming pool was being completely rebuilt. Ideal for a summer break. We stayed 3 days and it was without doubt the best stay we had all trip. The owners were happy to advise on local tourist info and areas. We would have liked to stay another couple of days! Parking was good. We had a bowl of chocs etc and nibbles as well as coffee and teas in the room. We also liked the free Tern water bottles provided so we were able to fill them up and reuse. Still are in the UK! A real gem in the Cape. I would say the bed is a smaller double and I thought I might 'bump' into my other half during the night but it was not the case as it was very comfy and so there was no problem.

• William L (10/5): Fall break in Cape Cod - John and Lisa August were wonderful hosts. It is centrally located on the Cape so that we were a short ride to the other towns. The accommodation was wonderful in a newly renovated room. Extremely comfortable bed with a very spacious dresser and closet for our clothes. We had a small fridge and microwave, coffee maker and multiple charging units to charge our phones/ iPad /kindles etc. Daily snacks in the bowl always available. Complete breakfast every morning that filled our tummies until an early dinner in town at wonderful restaurants. The grounds were nicely kept despite the construction area for a new pool. It is a very relaxing area for afternoon reading after touring in the morning and afternoon. The bathroom is nicely decorated with a lovely shower. We decided to stay in the location for 4 days rather than moving from Provincetown to Sandwich. 10 minute walk to the beach and Oct was a wonderful time to visit the area after the tourists went home. You will be pleasantly surprised how lovely this facility is .
• Michel (8/5): Discovery of Cape Cod. - The location in a nice environment near the beach. Nice welcome from the hosts. Bikes available. Nice breakfast. The pool has dissapeared.

Our room was very clean probably and they think of everything you might need. Breakfast was very tasty and they accommodate people with allergies. Thank you for making our first B&B experience so wonderful.

• Frederick (10/5): A beautiful B&B close to many attractions! - Beautiful decor, very comfortable bed, owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. First time in a B & B so it will be very difficult to find anything that compares to The Tern! Nothing could have been better. A GREAT place to stay!
• Elizabeth (7/5): A pleasant stay. - This is a beautiful B&B, run with care and pride. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and they really do make you feel at home. I appreciated borrowing a beach chair one day. Great quality breakfast. My room was spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated. It had a lot of charm. I didn’t sleep well on either night: the three windows in my room have wooden slat blinds which are great for privacy but do very little in terms of keeping the light out, even when closed, so I woke at sunrise (circa 6:30am) which I could have done without on vacation. The fridge in the room (about 2m away from the bed) is also pretty noisy and the aircon is very weak.

Loved having so many choices for drinks and snacks in the room. Terrific breakfast every morning with a new hot dish every day. Friendly dogs and cat in the office. Chairs, bikes, and wagons available for beach. Quiet location, but not far from restaurants, beach, etc.

• Lemar (10/5): Great weekend stay! - Our room which was the Gazebo was very clean, recently renovated and was well equipped with a refrigerator, dishes, glasses, even complimentary snacks, everything you need for a short stay. A great breakfast was served daily. A variety of items were available, including an à la carte item that John makes. When we were there we had a delicious quiche and an a croissant and egg bake. Best of all, John and Lisa were very gracious hosts, caring that all of your needs were met. We felt like we are at a friend’s house for the weekend. We were very satisfied.

• Tamara (9/5): Peaceful, comfortable, enjoyable. - My family and I have driven by the Tern Inn for decades. Because we own a home in the Cape we have never paid to stay there but this year was different and I'm so glad we finally got the opportunity to play "tourist" at the the Inn. It is a beautiful property with wonderful stewards in the current owners, John & Lisa. Our room was so beautifully appointed and comfortable, the common room where we enjoyed coffee and breakfast is so cozy and inviting and the back patio is a dreamy little spot to enjoy an afternoon. It's proximity to a great beach, restaurants and more is prime! The rooms have Kuerigs and coffee but no creamer or sugar so if you're an early riser and don't drink it black, you will have to wait until coffee is served in the main room at 7:30. That's it, everything else was fantastic!

The breakfast in the morning was homemade and delicious.If you are looking for a nice quiet and beautiful Inn to stay this is for you!

I would def come back for a summer break - This is a very cute place .. traditional Cape Cod b&b… I loved the very beachy Cape Cod feel to this place and John and Lisa, the owners, could not have been nicer. Missed breakfast cos dashing off for the Nantucket ferry so if the breakfast could have been a little earlier that would have been great. particularly since everyone raves about the breakfast here!

• Natalie (10/5): Best place to stay on Cape Cod - Everything at the Tern Inn was exceptional! The property is very well maintained and the guest suites are large, spacious and super clean! I loved how each of the rooms have their own decor and they had everything you could need while away. The toiletries were a super nice touch as well and the rooms felt very quaint and cozy and well appointed. The breakfast was fantastic! There was selection of hot and cold items and nothing was lacking. The property is located in the BEST location on Cape Cod, central to everything while still being on a quiet and quaint street. We had a fantastic stay. John and his wife were friendly and informative and made us feel at ease while providing the locals best tips on how to enjoy our stay. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat and would stay again! Nothing , everything met our expectations and exceeded. We had great weather in September so maybe if the pool had been open an extra week or so that would have been great but everything made a perfect stay!
