Ray (10/5): Beautiful small hotel in a great location, with a great breakfast - very good value. - It has a great location at the end of the main pedestrianized street, very walkable from Sao Bento station. We asked for a room with a tub and ended up in a corner room with the tub in the room. Otherwise the hotel is authentically historical but with a beautiful fully glazed entry level breakfast room with great breakfast to match. The hotel looks out on a sloped widening of the pedestrian street that has a rotating cast of accomplished street musicians performing every night. Performances and festivities end promptly at 10pm every night. Can’t think of anything really. We had the largest room on the floor, so can’t speak to the comfort of the typical rooms.

Michelle (10/5): A perfect spot to enjoy everything Porto has to offer. - This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Several restaurants in the square outside, often with musicians playing, lovely to sit in the sunshine and listen but can’t be heard from inside the rooms. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the river. My room was amazing, bright and spacious, a lovely bath and shower, clean and comfy bed. There was nothing I didn’t like!

we_love_the_canaries (10/5): Fell in love with this hotel - This hotel exceeded all our expectations! We had a 4 night stay to celebrate my son’s birthday and could not fault a thing! You couldn’t ask for more welcoming or helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to help. The rooms were well appointed and had quality linen with the hotel name embroidered on. Also monogrammed bath robes and a pair of slippers added to the luxury. Lovely bathroom products made us smell delightful. A free bottle of water was placed in the room daily and the rooms were beautifully clean. There was a large TV in the room should you want to watch it (not sure of the channels as we were up, breakfast, out, bed…. oh boy, do those hills give you a good work out 😂) We had breakfast included in our stay and it was delicious. The presentation of the food, the quality and the food options were excellent…..very impressive. The hotel was in a great location which made it easy to get around, whether you wanted to go to the riverside, maybe purchase souvenirs or find bars and restaurants you were very central. My son celebrated his birthday while he was here and was presented with a bottle of sparkling wine and a cake. Again everything was presented in a beautiful way. Even his cake was covered in a glass dome. I really cannot sing the praises of this hotel enough and would like to thank everyone for making our trip very memorable. Would I recommend this hotel? Without a doubt!

Buffet breakfast delicious and lots to choose from. Restaurant downstairs for dinner. Everyone was so kind, accommodating and always with a smile. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Carola (9/5): Me encantó! - La propiedad está en pleno centro! Una ubicación espectacular ya que de ahí podes manejarte a todos los puntos turísticos importantes sin ningún problema. El desayuno fue maravilloso, muy completo.

Sarah (9/5): - Hôtel très bien placé dans le cœur de Porto entre la ville haute et la Ribeira. Jolie chambre avec rangements et vue sur la jolie rua das Flores. Excellent petit déjeuner. Très bon accueil avec des pasteis de Nata à disposition dans l'entrée. Belle papeterie au rez-de-chaussée.

Estábamos en una habitación que da a la calle y se sentía mucho el ruido para dormir, tenía la ducha en el pasillo separada del baño y perdía por el lateral, haciendo que haya agua en el pasillo de la habitación, el desayuno correcto
Gaynor1808 (10/5): Perfectly located hotel - This hotel is in a great location for exploring Porto. The area outside has restaurants etc but it is closed to traffic so there are no car horns or engines revving at midnight. The rooms are nice (good linen) and a good shower. Breakfast was €9 per person and worth it. Reception staff were friendly & helpful. Really please with our choice of where to stay.

Vanisha (5/5): Not worth the noise - Very comfortable room, tea and coffee making services, polite and helpful staff when it came to providing city attractions and restaurant recommendations. Buskers perform everyday just outside the hotel and will generally end at 10 pm. And even after 10 pm I could still hear diners outside talking. Location is the major downside.

Jana (10/5): Perfect location for our too brief stay in Porto. - Perfect location for sightseeing. Within walking distance to the train station. The staff were helpful and friendly. Hard to find the entrance. It’s not in the front of the building but on the side. Not a big deal, but helpful if you know ahead of time!

Mark (9/5): Porto AS 1829 - hard to find but even harder to leave. - It is very covrniently located in Porto. The staff we encountrred were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent Be aware that it is in the pefestrian area, so the taxis and Ubers cant drop you at the door - but it is only a short walk.

Ross (10/5): We only stayed two nights and wish we had planned on four. - All staff were wonderful and Vincente from Chile went above and beyond to help us to understand the culture, find taxis, get extra towels and plan our days. Amazing singers performed in the street right outside and promptly stopped at 22:00. No cars are allowed nearby so it was quiet and free of the smell of car exhaust. Bakeries and gelato stands were nearby. The breakfast offered more than 50 different options!
