Enjoyed omelettes, fruit, toast etc for breakfast and drinks at the bar. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

996amaliad (8/5): Yes for Hotel Ninfa - My colleagues and I stayed at Hotel Ninfa for 2 weeks for a training that we were hosting. The hotel staff were super helpful in assisting us in every way. Myra and Sara in the restaurant were so kind and attentive and we really felt looked after whilst we were there. It is super central and is a short walk into town. We would definitely recommend Hotel Ninfa to travellers visiting Puerto Ayora.

732fabiang (6/5): Overall, it’s not the best choice, but it can be fine if you don’t expect too much. - The Ninfa in Puerto Ayora is an okay place to stay. The rooms are very simple and a bit dirty, with many bugs. The breakfast was not very good, and the service was not very friendly. The location is quite good because it’s close to the harbor. However, there are better alternatives in the area. Overall, it’s not the best choice, but it can be fine if you don’t expect too much.

Andras (8/5): - A very well maintained, beautiful hotel, located a 100 yards from both the main street and the beach promenade/shopping street. Some rooms overlook a narrow street with a tight S bend which can be a little noisy until the traffic dies down in the evening.

Great breakfast to start your mornings, with custom omelets and variety of cereals. Of course coffee and juices. Then when returned from tours, there is a adult bar, attended and games and a lounge area and pool. I would recommend and reserve again in future.

Berardo (8/5): - The water pressure wasn’t great in the shower. If you have candies or something sweet in the room you probably gonna get a lot of ants. There were some insects inside the room too. Breakfast was really amazing and people that work there are the nicest. It’s a good location.
Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay! - Staff was very helpful and the Santa Fe tour we booked with them was excellent. You are less than 5 minutes from port if you arrive via boat. You are also about a 10 minute walk from main street that has lots of restaurants and bars. Definitely would stay there again.

pedroe988 (8/5): Good cocktails - A friend and I stayed at the Ninfa for 3 nights. We found the hotel to be clean and friendly. We particularly enjoyed the outside courtyard area that had a bar and pool, and hung out there at the end of the day. Bartenders Jesus and Andre made good margaritas and G&Ts, something we found to be a rarity in the islands. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. We stayed in one of the 2nd floor balcony rooms that over looked the pool area. Bring a portable clothesline if you want to dry your stuff after a day on the water. We had an unbooked open night at the end of our trip and liked the Ninfa well enough to book our last night there, as well.
Ryan (10/5): Great Stay - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ninfa for 5 days with a group of 7 including kids. The service and cleanliness were very good. Breakfast was great each morning. The location can’t be beat. It’s so close to shopping, dining, pier for tours and supermarket and ATM. The property is gated so it felt very secure. Would recommend it. We were there on New Year’s Eve and the celebrations outside were very loud but that was understandable and expected.

SHOGO (2/5): - You should not stay this hotel unless you like being cheated. The Expedia’s page said that Wi-Fi was available in all rooms; however, we can access the Internet only around the reception. I had to join a meeting during the vacation and needed Wi-Fi in a room, which is why I chose the hotel. Transportation cost from the airport was also different. In short, ad-fraud.

The rooms were clean, delicious breakfast variety, pool and jacuzzi very clean. The staff is superb! Off the charts! We had a 6am departure and they were able to accommodate our breakfast. They helped us hanging to dry our wetsuits. Very family friendly. We did not utilize the laundry service, but there was availability if needed. If we ever return, we will definitely stay here again!

Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Ecuadorian hospitality - Wonderful staff who do a great job of catering to guests with very early breakfasts so you can have a good meal before day trips, cash bar, rental bikes, everyone was friendly and helpful with excellent recommendations for places to eat and visit while in Puerto Ayora. The mattress was very firm, the room super clean and the hotel is walking distance to the center of town and the pier.

chrissI7936ZS (6/5): Good location and room for the price - Nice location close to grocery stores and the port along with dining options. Nice room and shower with a decent pool and hot tub. The only negative things are the Wi-Fi isn't very good and barely worked in the room ( a common problem here) and they play music at the pool right outside my room starting at 6 am to ten pm. Good thing I needed to be up anyway.

Nice small balcony overlooking the pool and hot tub. Huge windows with a lot of natural light. However, the curtains are not blinds, so even when they are down there's a lot of light. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free buffet breakfast, however with a limited selection. All in all, very nice.

techlawyerpdx (10/5): Top Location, Best Value - Honestly better than expected and left wanting nothing. The highlights: breakfast buffet, a bar, a pool, a jacuzzi, and billiards. Plus, downtown! I could spend all day there, and I did. The "suites" are super comfortable but in a separate building that doesn't offer wifi (the only downside of an otherwise 5-star experience). However, wifi is generally available in the common areas. The breakfast, despite pandemic, exceeded expectations. I'd factor that into the price of the room ($15+ value). The staff are top-notch. One of the "jefes" (Fernando) invited me over and introduced me to his friends. Traveled gentlemen. Speaks English. The manager, Marco, also speaks English. Super helpful. The bar manager, Jesus, is a young, friendly guy. Happy to help too. The breakfast staff over-accommodate. I basically had the place to myself -- a hidden gem. I almost feel guilty publicly exposing this place for how much value it offers but I wanna see these guys survive the pandemic because I'd recommend them to anyone.

384veronicah (2/5): Avoid - most of our group ended up on antibiotics! - We stayed here on a Tui holiday. There were 11 in our group and we all got terrible diarrhoea. Four of our group had to get antibiotics from the Doctor in Santa Cruz and were so ill they couldn't continue the holiday to Isabella Island. When the 7 of us returned from Isabella at 8.30 am we had to wait till after 2 pm for our rooms despite other newly arriving guests after us being given their rooms. When we complained we were told that they like to give guests in a group their rooms at the same time, we said we were happy for them to allocate us our rooms as and when available so at least some of us wouldn't have to waste time sitting around but no, rules are rules. My husband and I were eventually allocated a double room at 2.30 despite booking a twin bed room. There was no water in the tap and the toilet didn't flush. Thankfully the shower did work so we improvised. Our group stayed here one more night by which time we all had diarrhoea. We have been home for two weeks now and are still ill. Some of our party have been diagnosed with a giardiasis parasitic infection and given antibiotics. One NHS doctor suggested we all get checked out and treated. When we arrived we were told that the water dispenser by the bar was drinkable and for us to top up our water bottles, which we duly did. However my husband noticed that the staff didn't drink from there but used bottled water from behind the bar. Could this have been the reason so many of us got ill? We have travelled to many countries around the world with poorer hygiene standards than the UK and have never been in a group where everyone got ill and are still ill weeks after arriving home.
Escape-overseas (8/5): Great location for the early morning ferries. - Located very close to the harbour we chose the hotel for an overnight stay to facilitate an evening arrival by ferry from one of the islands and the early morning ferry to another the following day. A previous stay, a couple of years ago, had been disappointing, but it best served our purpose this time around so booked anyway. I am glad to report that the negatives found during our previous trip have been turned into positives. English speaking receptionist, assistance with luggage and a great breakfast served in time to catch the morning ferry. Fast check in and out - all just what we booked with no issues - great location for fast access to the ferries without the need for a taxis and of course being located close to the harbour, well located for shops and restaurants for evening entertainment.

Lydia (6/5): Good location - We only stayed overnight at La Ninfa on our way from a cruise to another island. Our room was very large, with one king bed although we requested 2 beds. I was told upon check in that if we wanted another bed in the room it would take time. Since we were only staying one night, it was not a big issue. The property is in a great location, close to the pier and main street of the town. From what I observed, the property was clean and generally well maintained but a little dated. The one issue we did have was our door did not close without A LOT of jiggling, pulling, pushing, etc. Since we were only staying overnight and left the room once for dinner we didn't make an issue but it was a bit alarming that there is a room with a faulty lock. This is a pretty basic repair and necessary part of a hotel room.

PDC_11 (8/5): BSAC UK Dive Club Stay for 15 - I had stayed at the Hotel Ninfa before. It is centrally located, close to the ATM's, the town centre and the local dive shops including Academy Bay which we used. In planning the trip for the club, I decided to use this hotel again as our base for the reasons set out above. The hotel is very welcoming and friendly. Since my last trip, the hotel has undertaken a significant refurbishment to the breakfast area. On a par with other hotels I have stayed in.There was a wide selection for breakfast and you can also have it cooked fresh to order. The garden, bar area and the pool side are well maintained and a great place to relax after a dive, early evening and prior to popping out to any of the restaurants close by, either along Charles Darwin Avenue or there is a great street close by which has the tables on the road - the fish there is superb. I have noted some of the comments posted by others which I think are somewhat unfair when the experience is taken in the round. Yes, some of the rooms might need an upgrade but they were comfortable enough for our purpose. I am sure that the hotel management has this in hand, if the breakfast area is anything to go by. The only observation that I would make is in relation to the wifi within the hotel which can be challenging at times if you need to use it. Something for the hotel team to think about. But then, who needs a phone if you are diving each day/taking day trips or excursions - chance to leave it on silence perhaps. Thanks again Hotel Ninfa for your kind hospitality
829betsyt (6/5): Great location, nice staff, general accommodations - This is a fine spot to stay for some basic island vacationing. The breakfast is good, the location is perfect. You can easily walk into town or to the piers and they have bikes to borrow. There is a small pool, which we never had time to use. It is a fine spot to crash after busy island days. It is not fancy. We were content here.

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, though the rooms could use a bit of repair.
btheword (2/5): Cancelled Reservation After Seeing Room - This past May I was in Galapagos and had a low budget, which I know doesn't leave much to choose from in terms of quality but Hotel Ninfa didn't look so bad online. Reception staff were great, helped me to my room, but upon entering my accommodation I knew it wasn't going to go over well. There was a very humid smell and as I got a closer look there were stains on the bed, I went closer to inspect and found a hair on and under my pillow, the room had obviously not been swept because in each corner there was dust and dirt, hair mixed in with it, and even dead bugs. The window was also right over the bed and as I looked up, I saw lots of mold in the corners of the ceiling and on the way. Let's just say I wanted to run out right then and there after seeing all of that. But my curiosity got the best of me and I went into the bathroom to find stains all over the mirrors and a very gross looking shower curtain. Needless to say, I told myself I was not going to stay in that room. And supposedly, this was one of the better rooms on the first floor. As I walked out of the bathroom, I even noticed more stains on the walls with handprints and scratches. Anybody with common sense could see that it is a simple matter of picking up a broom, cleaning supplies and some rags and I swear that room would look completely different - except for the mold. I understand its Galapagos and it is very humid, but don't book a room for a guest if you know there is mold growing in it. Overall, I sincerely felt that my health would have been in jeopardy staying in there. Also, before entering the room while waiting in line for my turn to check in, I had a quick look around and the pool they had was not clean and I would 10x rather swim in a lake or ocean that to get into that pool for fear of catching something. Looking around at the bar everything seemed nice, but then a closer look revealed very stained and mildewy lounges - the color of the fabric was yellow and that did not help camouflage the stains whatsoever. Anyways, to bring this to an end, when I took my bag back to the reception to tell them I cannot stay there because of how bad the conditions were in my room - get this - THEY DID NOT EVEN ASK ME WHY! They just said okay, no problem, we'll process the refund and that was it. If I could have given a lower rating, I would.

T194TYangelas (4/5): Dock House: Roomy & Great location. Dirty and poorly maintained. - The good: The Dock House is a four bedroom three bath house owned by Hotel Ninfa. You are allowed to use the hotel’s facilities as well as have breakfast there daily if included in your rate. It is steps from Charles Darwin Ave, the main pier, many shops, restaurants, and tour shops. We walked to the Charles Darwin research center, the fish market, Tortuga Bay (although this was a long one considering the trek you make from the entrance to the actual beach). We couldn’t have been happier with the location. The breakfast was fair. There were some hot options such as pancakes and sausage as well as scrambled eggs and an egg station with other typical continental fare. The bad: While the downstairs of the Dock House appears to have been updated recently, it is poorly maintained. The floor was so dirty that we had to wear shoes inside or the bottom of our feet turned black. Some weathering is to be expected, as it is on an island but simple things like peeling wall paper and paint are easy enough to correct and change the impression. More than the cosmetics, the lack of cleanliness is the reason for the low review. The ugly: At one point we ended up trapping a rat in the kitchen trash can. No idea how it got in or if it was in the house the whole time. There is not 24 hour maintenance so we had to wait until the next morning for someone to remove it. Most of the outlets in the house did not work. There is no soundproofing. People walking down the street sound like they are in the room with you. Music from the church across the street, while beautiful, is also quite loud when you are trying to get young ones to sleep. Overall the location was great, but we would not stay here again.

Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel was part of a one week vacation in the Galapagos, located in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island. The only reason why it doesn't get a 5 star review is because I think there is still room for improvement. The hotel, I think, it has about 30 rooms, it has GREAT location, is just by the pier, you can walk literally three blocks and you are at the pier. It has a pool and a hot tub with a small bar next to it that you can get some drinks at decent price (everything on the island is like 150% more in price anywhere you go so don't be amazed for prices). It has a small restaurant, I just at the breakfast at it, it was really good, buffet type and it was included in my rate. Family friendly and you can even used the bikes that they have, no extra cost. There is also three ATMs a block away from the hotel and a convenience store right next to them. The room was very clean, decent size and distribution and they A/C and TV with cable. Bathroom was in good condition, hot water, if you needed, and it has a small fridge where you can get store the water to be cold for your next day on tour. If you are looking for tours, the hotel can setup some tour, they own one of the boats so those tours are for sure guarantee, they usually go to Pinzon and Santa Fe, we went to Pinzon and it cost 130 per person, really decent price and it was a great tour. The only recommendations that I would make is better maintenance to the bikes and to the showers.

We chose this hotel because it was detailed as "refundable." Upon check-in, I told the hotel staff that we would need to check-out a day early and they said that would be fine. Upon checking out, we asked to not be charged for the final night. We were charged for the final night and we are currently working on getting a refund for that night.

Oliver (6/5): Great Location average hotel get what you pay for. - The hotel does the job, has a basic bar and pool, is very close to the pier which helps for the day trips for island hoping and has a bed. The cleanliness is average at best and the rooms very basic. Water pressure is limited but this seems a pattern on the island although we did have good pressure in other hotels we stayed in. The selling point is really the location. I would say its a $100 - $125 a night hotel and i guess you get what you paid for. The people / customer service were nice the hotel just needs a little TLC. Wifi is very weak in all locations and deoesn't really work in the rooms. Forget about factime / skyping home

Miles (10/5): Nice Hotel, Excellent Location - This is a nice hotel with restaurant, just about a block from the center of downtown and the port. Check-in was a little weird, as they didn't know that I had paid in advance...best to print out that page and take it with you. My room was comfortable. The buffet breakfast was tasty. Check-out was strange, with the hotel once again wanting to charge me until I once again showed the printout saying I had pre-paid.

Fawel A (6/5): Nice but terrible bed - The hotels is good is clean the staff is friendly and is in a good location the only problems is that breakfast is really early which is not a problem but once things run out they won’t bring more it doesn’t matter that more guest haven’t had breakfast yet And I had the terrible luck that both beds in room 301 where terrible they hasn’t changed the mattresses in a really long time and they where broken so once you lay down you will go directly down not to the floor but almost and they couldn’t change my room until the last night because they where on full capacity
Verified traveler (8/5): Great location near the port - We were only here for one night and it was a pleasant experience overall. Staff is super friendly, there's a little pool and a shared courtyard area. You can't beat the location just a block away from the port and the main supermarket. Only complaints are breakfast was meager pickings and also our bathroom could've been cleaner. Rooms are a little dated but they have air conditioning and they are building a new breakfast/bar area that looks great so perhaps breakfast experience will improve.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a clean, cute, affordable room!
