• Heather (10/5): Lovely Staff and Great Location with Rooftop Terrace - Great location to explore Willamstad and the Roodeweg area just outside of all of the tourist areas. About a 15-20 minute walk to Kas di Piskado Purunchi or Saltwater Rifterrace where you'll find a delicious meal with the freshest fish. There are closer restaurants, a local snack, and grocery store close by. Comfortable walk to the town/tourist area of about 20 minutes. Several bus routes right outside the property. I loved the rooftop terrace, which was a great place to enjoy the sunset. There was good internet, and I was able to work there in the shaded rooftop area or in the air conditioned room. The staff were excellent. Morena and Kwame were so helpful. Check in was easy and they helped me with navigating the bus/minibus systems. They were always available for any questions or need I had. Bike rental was a reasonable price, but it was the heaviest bike I've ever used in my life. Great downhill, and quite the struggle uphill. Still a great option for a short bike ride.

• Sofia (9/5): Very good cost/benefit in a good location - The room was affordable considering our budget, very clean and in a nice location (not in the city center but still very close, about 7 minutes by car) . Our room had a basic kitchen where it's possible to prepare breakfast and simple meals. The staff was very friendly and could help us with many inquiries. Would recommend very much for those with a tighter budged but that cares for confort and tidyness! The kitchen could have more utensils and there are few garage spots.

• ciaraandgary (10/5): Wonderful stay at MustiQue Suites - We loved our 7 night stay at the MustiQue Suites. Morena welcomed us on our arrival, and she could not have been more helpful! She gave me a dark coloured towel and pillowcase when I asked, as I have coloured hair, and I didn't want to ruin their spotless white towels and pillows. Yes, she doesn't speak English, but I also don't speak Papamiento! We could easily communicate in Spanish so that was perfect for us. We took the quad room deluxe, so we had a big bedroom with AC, kitchen with microwave, fridge freezer, induction stove, pots pans etc, and comfy sitting area with a flat screen smart tv, plus a bathroom and little balcony. Everything in the room was extremely clean, and Morena cleaned regularly during our stay. The owner's son was extremely helpful, checking when we would meet in the hallway that everything was OK, gave us an extra WiFi router access to have stronger WiFi, allowed us to safely chain our rental scooter inside the front gate, giving advice on things to see etc. They also offer scooter /car rental, tours, e-bike rentals etc, as well as parking behind the building for cars. The roof top terrace was a highlight for us, such a pleasure to sit up there in the evening with a glass of wine, and watch the sun setting. There is a little grocery store just 2 mins walk from there, selling wine beer water etc. And the big supermarket stores are less than 10 mins drive away. Downtown Otrobanda is just a short walk away, and you can reach the Queen Emma Bridge in less than 10 minutes walking, so very nicely located. Highly recommend staying here, and we look forward to returning next time we are in Curaçao!

This is a very clean, and very safe hotel. It was easy and free to park our rental car. The owners are so friendly :)
• ChesleySA (10/5): Great First Time Experience - The hotel was very clean and neat. The Staff was quite welcoming and friendly and made sure all my needs were met. They also provided taxi transportation to the hotel. They gave their business whatsapp contact which was very much useful, as we stayed in contact in case of in delays before checking in. They also message when we arrived safe to our hometown. I will be definitely be using their services as it was affordable but also because the staff was excellent!

• kr_kr_ro_ro (8/5): Short budget stay - Location: In the description of the hotel it says that it's a 5 min walk from the centre (where the colorful houses are and all the restaurants, shops) but it's a 20 minute walk in average (yes we did time it). 20 min is not bad at all but this should be mentionned in the description. 5 min walk you would expect to be right in the centre. Staff: We figured that the owner is the tall man and there are two ladies Morena and Rosa who help him. We never met Rosa but Morena did our check in and we bumped into her another time walking on the street looking for a bus stop. The fact that Morena does not speak one word in English is a negative for us. There is absolutely no way to communicate with her if you need something or have questions she just keeps speaking broken spanish as if we would understand. The man (owner) is really nice. Rooms: The bathroom had an awful smell especially when you turn on the water. The toilet does not flush very well. The water being advertised as hot is more like just warm. The beds are comfortable. The wifi is great. The fridge is useful. Recommend to stay here for a short budget stay.

• lilianl587 (10/5): Watch the parades from your balcony! - This little gem is a budget hotel; nothing fancy, but very clean, comfortable beds, secure building where everything works well. The owners' son Jacobo was extremely helpful and kind to us. We were a group of 5, occupying 3 rooms for 4 days at the height of the carnival. Only the customers in the 7 rooms of the Mustique Suites were allowed on the balcony for a super view of the parades. There is really no other place so convenient for watching this amazing spectacle (bring ear plugs as the music is LOUD).
• Glenn (6/5): SKETCHY Place...May wanna keep looking - So, the listing states that transportation is provided. WRONG! I had to spend $60/day for a rental car instead. The place is like a prison. You need a key to open every door. Not a card key, but a jailers key. And multiple keys needed for different doors. You will feel like a security guard or a janitor , instead of a guest, by the the time that you leave. Parking is a joke! The three spots will be used up by two inconsiderate guests that don't know what the lines in the parking area are for. Windows dont close because they are missing the wedges that pull them tight, so expect LOTS of motorcycle noises. Located on a main street, with no regards to sleeping tourists. 50 cents per window to fix, but they haven't done it. Very disappointed. Small, cramped rooms. TV doesn't get many channels, and the ones that you do get, change languages per show, SKETCHY neighborhood. I have many weeks of business here in the future, but will not be booking this place.

Fungus on the ceiling in the washroom, funky smelling washroom, a wastebasket that had not been cleaned properly. Dirty fridgedoor, cutlery and kitchenware rather grimey. Broken doorknobs. dangerous step in the room. The room and location is not baby friendly. Odd and also dangerous entrance to the property. Barely any parkingspots available. Noisy neighbourhood. All in all not much of "suites" feeling to the experience.

There was a separate private kitchen. The beds were good. A/c worked great. Off street free parking. We were very pleased with everything Friendly staff. Overall great place for the cost. We would stay again.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Budget Hotel with Basic Amenities - I stayed at this hotel during Labor Day weekend 2018. The hotel is actually a converted house/apartment building and has about six or seven different units within it . I specifically state in the one that has a king bed and a kitchenette. Overall the room was pleasant, quiet and the floors were clean. Bathroom was functional and clean as well . What I didn’t like was that they didn’t provide any soap or shampoo besides the dishwashing soap near the kitchen sink. I also had some trouble with the room safe. But they bought a replacement one so it was a minor issue. Finally I would say that the only problem with the air conditioning is that it’s directly underneath the bed so the air is blowing straight at you as you’re sleeping and you can start to feel really really cold. Also be advised that the maid on duty does not speak any English. You should definitely get a rental car because this place is located in the middle of the residential neighborhood. Nevertheless, I was pleased with my stay and I would recommend this place to anyone who has a budget and is looking to maximize their dollar.

• nilehte (10/5): Very good value for money - This hotel I would say is a place you'd book for a couple of day's stay. It's small and is not really what you'd refer to as a holiday hotel. However, I stayed six months and couldn't have been happier with my stay at Mustique. I had a big room (cleaned daily during the week) with two large beds, a big flat screen TV and fridge. Large bathroom too. The only thing that I would've like to have was a closet to store my clothes in. There's also a kitchen downstairs for common use, although some of the pots and pans could be upgraded. As a long term stayer, Kwame and the rest of the staff went out of their way to accommodate my requests, such as a table and a water boiler. I was very well taken care of during my stay. I prepared breakfast every morning in the room before work and during the weekends I used the kitchen. There are also many very affordable Chinese and local take-away places in the area. Location wise, it's excellent. A 15 minute walk from Otrabanda and Punda and a 20 minute walk to the beach in the other direction. If you're a jogger like myself, there's a dedicated 2km recreational track/road without traffic along the beach on the way to Hilton hotel. There's also a bus stop just outside the hotel where the buses from Otrabanda to any corner of the island stops. The best thing with Mustique is their room rates, which are very affordable and it's probably the best value for money place I've ever stayed at. Highly recommended!

• GiselleC593 (6/5): Reasonable price, comforty, waking distance to Punda/Ort - Parking: only 3 parking space Room: All rooms have fridge and kitchen sink ( some have oven and microwave). However, there is a general kitchen area. Rooms are nice, walls seemed like it needs a fresh coast of print. Safety: It really safe two lock gates that lock automatically when pushed close. Location: room next to the front desk is nice. But bathroom is right to the end and front desk worker can be heard when taking a shower Cleaning: Clean comes every day during the week. The bed was made with the same sheet for 7 days ( I dropped some chocolate on the sheet the first day and it remained the until it time to go). The dirty comforter was placed on the floor, the cleaner did not take it to wash it was left there. Task completed was sweep, mop, make the bed, throw garbage and give new towels. Air condition: stopped twice (the card for it was shifted and the remote was not working). Internet: was okay, sometimes you have to go in the hall to pick up strong ( but that normal in the Caribbean at times. Cable: a few good channel Front desk work ( male): very friendly arange transportation if need to embassy and airport Embassy: only 20 minutes away , you can take a taxi for US$20, then catch bus to come back since you know the route now Shopping/city: Danny is 5 minutes away if you walking straight down toward the laboratory that is across( before the traffic light on the left there's a gas station and a car rental) The movies 7 minutes away 10/15 minutes walk, Otraba.. and punda 18 minutes walk. The is street with shopping store. Sambil Mall ( biggest mall, better than Z. mall) is 7 minutes away. Stand by the road and catch a bus0 Cemetery is across, was worried before due to the review. Didn't even notice it at first. The walls are high and there are trees. Overall, is nice for someone on a budget and walk to enjoy the heart of Curacao at a walking distance. There is no big hall or playing, it no a fancy place. It like a nice comforty apartment.

She makes bed but dont change sheet (I stayed for 7 days), sweep, mop & throw garbage. She comes in room when guests are out. Condition: not a fancy place. Front desk guy is friendly, willing to drop to embassy or airport. Location: walking distance to punda and otrobanda, a movie theatre, lots of stores, 17 minutes from embassy ( $20 taxi). 7 minutes from Sambil mall (fls2.25 for trip). Building on highway, three parking spots at the back

The outside of the hotel will not win awards (I almost reconsidered), the interior was well suited. Stayed in room at the top of the stairs.

Rooms were a little small, but very clean, working AC. There's free parking too if you have a car! Host was super gracious, friendly, and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Will definitely be back. Great deal!
• rossblue (6/5): Serviceable but don't expect more - Mustiques Suites Cuacao is a good value for the budget traveler. It is inexpensive, at just over $50.00 per night. My son and I stayed there a few nights from January 12, 2017 until January 15, 2017. The room was bare bones, spacious and clean with a very little storage capacity or shelves, a couple of beds and a television which worked fine and received a clear signal with plenty of channels. The room was also equipped with air conditioning which worked fine and a mini refrigerator and an attached, spacious bathroom with a shower that provided luke-warm water, at best. Don't expect any enticing views of the area from this hotel. It is in the barrio and there are security bars on every door and window and a double lock system to get in and out of the hotel in addition to a room key. I never felt unsafe in any way but the level of security is disconcerting however the security at Mustiques Suites is replicated on every building in the area. The hotel is well located in that it is practically a straight line and about a 12 to 15 minute walk to the Pontoon bridge and where all the action is in Willemstad. I don't know how close or the quality of the closest beach because we had a car and drove to the beaches that were characterized on the web as the best on the island and there are plenty within about 10 minutes including Piscadera. Unfortunately, we couldn't find much quality food in the immediate area but the walk to the plaza was no more than 15 minutes. The hotel did provide a small parking space behind the building where guests enter and leave. It is as good value for the budget traveler, spacious, clean and well situated.. .
• carlos (4/5): This is not a hotel - It is a house they changed the rooms to accomodate people. Staff was nice and helpful and room was clean but I just want to point out that it is not a hotel. You have to walk up very uncomfortable stairs with your luggage. It is cheap and close to commercial area. I would not recommend it if you are used to nice rooms.
• andres_alarcon_g (2/5): Nightmare in front of a cemetery - We reach at night and didn't realize that is located in front of a cemetery. The service is beyond terrible (it doesn't exist), no towels for everyone, no shampoo, no mirror, no staff!!!. The liquid soap is so old that now is a jelly, the glasses in the kitchen are broken, the electric chargers works sometimes. The fan in the reception doesn't have a safety grid. Someone is going to be hurt. We left the key card inside the room and we couldn't find any person from the hotel to open the door. It's like a ghost hotel, where the smell of the room reminds you that you are sleeping next to the dead.
• Verified traveler (6/5): A comfortable budget hotel - The hotel is very tidy and well-maintained. The staff, although not at the front reception desk most of the time, are very reachable by phone or email. They were very responsive to helping with the TV problem.
• glitztt (8/5): Comfortable stay - I recently stayed at mustique for just a few days. It was chosen because of the comments from the tripadvisor forum. The accommodation is basic, no meals are provided but there are rooms available with a small kitchenette and contains a two burner table top stove and small refridgerator plus a small supermarket is also nearby. The pleasant sleeping arrangement with a large bed and a daily change of sheet was welcome. I spent time in curacao before in a popular hotel that had a much higher price price tag and I had to deal with mosquitos, this time my room was mosquito free, no exaggeration. The location is on a main street, about 20 min walking distance from the floating bridge which connects to Punda. Karen and Kwame customer service was great, they provided me with transport to and from the airport and tried to make sure my solo stay comfortable and it was, indeed.
• tagorej (4/5): Hotel experience - Was very disappointed with the room I got nothing like the pics that was advertised.. The doors kept gavin trouble to lock bedroom doors can't even lock and the place was infected with mosquitoes .They didn't have any blankets we had to ask . Beds were uncomfortable ..
• Remquito (8/5): Nice room and good service of the owners - We stayed nine nights in Mustique suites. The rooms are like you see on the pictures and really clean. The owners offered us a very good service and even provided us extra when the hurricane Matthew was close to the island (nothing happened, but in case of...). Like you can see on the map the place is not that close to a nice beach...there's one close, which is part of the Holiday Beach Resort, but you have to pay $10,- pp as a guest (10 min walk). There's another public, free, beach about 30min walking, Parasassa Beach...but I recommend this place when you rent a car and want to know something of the island. The area is a little dodgy at night, but you can take a minibus to Punda for $ 1 pp, which I recommend, better safe than sorry :-). For a laid back vacation I suggest you book a (more expensive)resort (Jan Thiel or Papagayo for example) which are close to the beach and parties. But as said, you get what Mustique offers you for a fair price! Thank you very much for the good service and Karen for our ride to the Jan Thiel resort, we appreciate!!
• Stormi (8/5): Affordable, clean and centarlly located. - Our trip was seamless from booking to checkout. Karen contacted us beforehand to arrange transportation from the airport to Mystique Suites. They also arranged for our car rental which was brought to Mystique. Kwame showed us around to help us get acclimated to Curacao. Our stay was made all the more better because of the great hospitality of the Mystique Suites staff.
• juanpablop936 (10/5): 4 nights of good sleeping and friendly hosting - Karen, Kwame and Morena are the best hotel hosts. They're not only really warm but they're willing to help you discover the island. Curacao is way much expensive than I hope, and founding this place was an absolute blessing. Their phrase it's true: When you're traveling on budget and demand perfection.
• Customer_King (10/5): Perfect for budget travellers - We spent 10 nights at Mustique Suites. We had the intention to discover the beautiful island on our own, and actually only needed a "roof" to sleep under. Mustique Suites perfectly fitted our needs. Our room had a good air condition (which was absolutely essential for us due to the very hot climate), and the bed was fine, too. The room was very small and had a fridge, which was also a reasonable feature. However, the room had no wardrobe but that was ok - we just kept everything in our suitcases. Directly in front of the house, there is a bus stop from where you could go to the west of the island. In addition, a supermarket and a pharmacy are close by - and a Denny's restauraunt, which we sometimes used for breakfast. You are not living in the tourist center of Willemstad, you are living in real Curacao, real Otrobanda. If you go running, for example, you will see a lot of contrast: Some very beautiful, refurbished house, but also a few old, rather ruin-like houses. If you want to get into the city center, you can just walk down the Roodeweg for 15 minutes. We did this walk very often and enjoyed having dinner in one of the great restaurants. What was absolutely outstanding was the friendliness and helpfulness of Kwame and Karen. On our first day, when we were a bit jetlagged, they gave us a free 10 minute tour through Otrtobanda with their car and showed us some places where we could have dinner, breakfast, etc. And one day, when my girlfriend did not feel so good, they even drove us to the next pharmacy. In addition, Kwame also arranged a holiday car for us. Finally, there is a shared kitchen room where you can also prepare your own breakfast, lunch or dinner, so that actually everything you need is there. I can definitely recommend Mustique Suites - we had a good stay there with a good bed, cool air condition and last but not least, great hosts.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment in a house. - This is an apartment in a house converted to a hotel 10 minutes walk from Queen Emma bridge. Friendly check in and staff, good room service, comfortable bed, safe parking. Some reviews mention that area is not safe at night. I tend to disagree. Even though sketchy looking, area is safe. I walked the area as late as 3am and had absolutely no problems. Only cons, apartment is on a busy street, and sound proofing is non existent. Starting 06:30am, it becomes very noisy from the street noise. As well many guests shouting and banging doors. On the weekends, it's a bit quieter as a relief. Don't stay there if you want to sleep.

Best to rent a car as it is a good walk to the heart of Willemstad. Housekeeping was good. Front desk very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great budget hotel - Six't car company personal closed the counter at 10:30 instead of 11pm and left me stranded in a foreign country with no car. I called my hotel and the owner came and picked me up personally and arranged transportation back to the airport the next morning.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay. - It's comfortable and safe. It's a small hotel that looks like it used to be a house. It's a 17 minute walk from the tourist area. Between the hotel and the tourist area there is a low end shopping strip that many of the locals use. It's a busy street, which makes it safe.
• Devi (8/5): Nice little place - The is a nice little hotel, with a warm, homey feeling. Kwame was excellent! He was very helpful with our pick-up from the airport. And also with how to get around Curacao. He had a girl named Fredmarry pick us up and we decided to have her take us everyplace else. (Her rates wasn't that expensive and she acts as a tour guide more than a taxi driver) She was very warm and friendly towards me and my husband. Anytime you're staying here, make sure you ask Kwame for her!

• meredith (10/5): Nice room in a great location - Hotel was very nice. Room was actually an apartment. Staff are extremely friendly and I would stay here again just based off this. Hotel is in an ideal location. Less then a 10 min walk to the beach, dennys, several shops, ferry to Punda- floating market, several museums, all kinds of stuff. We felt very safe here and the locals were amazingly friendly.
