- 359ellenh (8/5): Charming old hotel - This little 1917 hotel is right in Hot Springs State Park. Two stories of rooms wrap around a little pool and hot spa, with rocking chairs on the balconies and porches. We had a comfortable but rather dim sitting room and a spacious, bright bedroom and updated bathroom. The bed was a bit old and not every outlet worked, so I took off a star, but the desk and housekeeping staff were delightful and I would definitely recommend a stop. Reserve in advance because they fill up.

- John (9/5): Best Hotel in Thermopolis - Bar None - We have stayed here multiple times. Excellent breakfast, better quality than most hotels and actual ceramic plates should you wish to use them. Wonderful vintage hotel with its own hot pool and a 3 minute walk to the large Hot Springs Park pools. Staff are very accommodating and pleasant people. They bake cookies for the guests - where else do you find that? Nothing to complain about.

Price was high 271 for just 2 nights, the breakfast was adequate but good was not always enough they ran out of bacon and was going to be 20 minutes before anymore was it this was at 745 am

- Christina (10/5): We highly recommend this hotel. - Hot breakfast, comfortable bed, rustic furniture, separate living room with second TV, natural hot spring in front of hotel at river as well as inside hotel courtyard. Staff gave us a free wine coupon to eat at Safari Club restaurant next door. We have no complained whatsoever with regard to the hotel. However, we were disappointed the Star Plunge commercial hot spring facility that is within walking distance to the hotel, was closed.
- Guide17269331162 (2/5): Not worth it! - Way over priced for a room that had long dark hair in the bathtub, empty soap containers. My husband tried to look for a manager on duty since it was a weekday. No one to be found at the desk or in the office. There he saw a couple of employees out in the back area smoking. We believe one of the women was the actual manager on duty. Went back to the room to clean the bathroom as best I could. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the rooms were fairly nice. Walked around the beautiful State Park. We went swimming enjoying the rest of our evening. The next morning we went to breakfast. The breakfast was terrible. Expired yogurts, no water available, the food was cold. We couldn't even eat it. We ended up going across the street and paying for breakfast instead. Definitely not worth the price I would never go back.

The fireplace didn't work, the room was very cold and the heater wasn't heating well, either. Took an hour to increase by one degree. There was a ponytail holder in the bathroom with hairs attached to it that the housekeeping staff left from the last occupant. While we didn't use the breakfast, it looked like a nice set of offerings and clean. The hotel itself is in a nice area and looks like it has a nice tub with hot springs water. We were only there one night, so the value was not good for what we paid.

However, the hotel is an historic update, and although my room was adequate, the lighting was not very good, the door was extremely squeaky, and the window curtain didn't work correctly. But, nevertheless, I recommend it.

There was mold or something growing on the ceiling in the shower and a broken tile on the floor. The air condtioner was also loud and woke me up all night turning off and on. I thought about turning it off and opening a window, but the screen was torn and i didn't want to let it a bunch of bugs.

- Felix Fiedler (7/5): - Nettes Hotel im rustikalem Bau. Frühstück war ausreichend. Im Innenhof gab es einen Pool mit natürlicher Thermalquelle. Wir hatten eine Nacht gebucht für kapp 200$. Abgebucht wurden uns aber fast 500$. Auf Ansprache wurde uns gesagt, dass aus Versehen zwei statt einer Nacht abgebucht wurden. Sie können da aber nix machen und ich soll mich an Booking wenden, was ich nicht okay finde. Im Zimmer war die Klima kaputt und als Ersatz gab's ne Mobile Klima. Die hat es aber nur mühsam geschafft das Zimmer runter zu kühlen. Für den Preis gab es für mich zu viele Unstimmigkeiten.

- David (4/5): - It was unique. However, not updated or with modern amenities. No elevators or access for handicapped. I have a torn meniscus and bone fragments in my knee. Our reservation was for a first floor room but we were put on the second floor. Stairs only. Ice machine out of order. No centra air. A unit with a pipe going out an open window. It stopped working off and on all night. After trial and error it needed to be shaken very hard several times before it would start working again. No one explained what to do when it stopped working. There was a thermostat and vents but not working or not being used. The smell from the hot spring hot tub was very strong and not great if you have migraines. Also not mentioned on the site where we booked the reservation. Not trying to be difficult but these are things a person should know before booking a room. We could have looked elsewhere but expected Best Western standards not small local unkept hotel experience. We could have booked that and supported a local hotel if there were no other options.

- Van (4/5): Trainwreck - Breakfast was good Our room was filthy and was never cleaned prior to checking in or during our stay. Cobwebs on light fixtures shower was dirty, food left in fr8dge from previous guests, bathroom floor was filthy. No soap in shower soap dispenser. No air conditioning except for a large noisy portable unit with a big air vent leading to the window. This place was a mess.
- Steven (10/5): - Historic building with its own hot-spring-fed outdoor hot tub with enough room for many -- and right near it, a normal outdoor pool for a cool plunge. The hotel is literally inside the Park. The breakfast bar is ample & fresh. The beds were clean & comfortable. The hotel is well maintained & the staff peasant & knowledgeable. Would definitely stay again!

- Y5331SYevah (4/5): Shortcomings - This hotel is probably the best option in Thermopolis, but it still has some major shortcomings. The person checking us in was pleasant, and the room was clean. However, rooms aren’t cleaned daily—or even every other day—and you have to ask for extra towels. The ice machine is broke and there is no laundry facility. The shower soap dispensers were empty and broken. One even popped open while my husband was showering, hitting him in the face. When I reported it, I was handed soap bottles with holes poked in them, wrapped in rags, and told someone would fix the dispensers. We stayed three days, and no one ever did. I also ran completely out of hot water during my shower. On the plus side, the location is great—right inside the State Park—and the hot tub is nice. Unfortunately, the lack of maintenance and attention to basic amenities really detracts from the experience

- Melissa (10/5): - Best Western is in above old building facing a park and steps away from the Hot Springs which most people come to Thermopolis to enjoy. Even better, it has a private spa with the volcanic water so if you don’t want to go to the public facilities you still can benefit from the healing waters.
- Sara (10/5): Spa and relax - The hotel has hot spring water feeding the hot tub- fun! It’s an old original building, lots of character but also modern comforts. Friendly staff and a relaxing stay. It is right in the state park. Lots of trails in the park. Cute, quaint small town. Very friendly and relaxing!

- 729betsyr (8/5): Great staff, mostly OK hotel - This is an historic hotel and is IN the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis. As a Best Western it has been upgraded recently with appropriate renovations. The best thing is the spa hot tub in the pretty courtyard with the swimming poo adjacent. The hot springs water pours right into the hot tub. The room was comfortable and as expected except for a few things. The curtains seemed to be worn and old roman shades that didn't work very well. The AC was a VERY loud portable unit that took up a lot of room and didn't cool very well. Staff was attentive, interesting and helpful (knew the history of the hotel). You have to ask for ice and they get it for you from the freezer in the kitchen area out of 10 pound bags, which was a little tedious but solved the ice problem.
- June (10/5): - This hotel is in a unique beautiful setting surrounded by lawn. Our room (a suite) was so cozy and spacious- we felt like we were in someone’s home.

- Nathalie (7/5): It’s a cool old hotel in a great location - Its location. We could walk all around the park. And the staff was really nice! The pool was closed. The air conditioner didn’t work in our room and we had a window unit that made the bedroom nice and cool but the other room not so much.

Last day got moved to other room with a air-conditioned unit though faulted out early that morning. In addition original room the water pressure was poor and no decent shower. Overall experience not good.
- Nat (7/5): Overpriced - Good location. The bath and pool are a nice addition. The bathroom looked recently remodelled, and the room was clean, apart from dead flies. The hotel seemed understaffed, but the staff did their best. The room had a makeshift airconditioning unit with a pipe attached to the window. The whole thing was sealed with tape, and let small flies in. On the unit it was written 'laundry room'. The whole thing was very noisy. There were dead flies on the window sill, around the sink, and the shower. The alive ones were flying around my book when I tried reading in bed. For those reasons, the room was terribly overpriced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A very special hotel. - We were celebrating our anniversary in Wyoming. We were surprised and delighted when we arrived to find this lovely historic hotel. Not only was the hotel historic the renovation of the property was excellent, the design of the room was great, loved the setting by a river and a train track. The hotel is actually located on the grounds of a state park, the grounds were green and restful. Although we live in Colorado we would go back, just to stay in this hotel.

Unfortunately it was 90 degrees when we were there, and the room never did cool down. The extra portable air conditioner was appreciated but VERY loud. Slept with a pillow over my ear all night.

- Lindsay (8/5): - The room was clean, big, spacious and a great fit for our family. We arrived a few hours early and stopped by the front desk to see if we could check in early. We know that this is not always available, but there was no staff behind the desk when we arrived, just 3 people in the corner sitting at a table. After being asked by them what I was there for, i stated that I was hoping to check in early. The person in the corner at the table was extremely rude and snarky and stated that check in was not until 3. I am completely aware, but just wanted to check as we were there. Come to find out this same person was actually working the desk the morning of our check out and wasn't much friendlier.

Wrong the water was brown every time I turned it on. The room was hot and the no chair to sit on, forced to sit only on a bed. Hard to do paper work on a slightly sunken mattress or have to stand to do it . The window air conditioner was bloody loud and didn’t work to help cool the room. Old building really should let people
- Olivia (4/5): - The property is an old building from 1917, which means needs some work specially in the pool area. Keep it clean and less stuff around the pool. The hot spring hot-tub was nice ! It feels good in my old bones, specially after driving for long time. I like the bed and pillows but it wasn’t my husband’s favorite. He thinks the bed was too small! Breakfast was good! And the stuff was nice!

- PSBil (6/5): You pays your money, you takes your chances… - This hotel to tough to rate because there are many good things and many bad. Our suite with a king bed, fridge and fireplace was great. It was spacious, and the bathroom must’ve been recently renovated and had all the modern necessities. The bed was quite comfortable. Our second story view was wonderful, from both the front and the back of the room. Having the hotel right in the Hot Springs Park is a real plus, as the park is beautiful and made for pleasant walks. Our biggest issue is the lack of proper air conditioning in some of the rooms. We had family in other rooms and one of them had to suffer through being hot with no A/C for 3 of 4 nights. The smell from the hotel’s mineral spring hot tub is sometimes unbearable. Sometimes it stinks to high heaven, and other time seems to not smell at all. A good tip would be to bring a candle for your room. The staff was at times ambivalent. An example would be them making us wait to check in. We arrived only 20 minutes before the 4PM check-in time, and were told as a matter of policy they won’t check anyone in before 4PM. A seemingly silly policy (if it’s even a real thing) because it caused a needless line of folks waiting to check in at 4. The evening cookies were wonderful, but the breakfast was tasteless. Next time in Thermopolis, we would try real hard to stay somewhere else. Best of luck to you, with regards to this Best Western
