Guest Reviews
- Firebaugh (10/5): Great -
- Diercks (7/5): - The staff were very friendly. The room was good sized and comfortable. Small bathroom and my balcony door would not open.
- 728fazalk (10/5): Charming Hotel - Very helpful management. I go every pther weeek. It is a home away from home.
- Nick (7/5): - Great location, affordable price and complimentary breakfast Long black hairs all over the bathroom. Pretty gross
- T9301LOjohns (2/5): Owner can't park, and doesn't care - Poorest customer service I have seen in a while. When I completed Wyndhams review about a handicapped parking issue, this is the response I received.

- Delrose (6/5): Decent - Everything was decent. Felt racially profiled
- Andrew (1/5): - Nothing. They gave my room that I rented to someone else then lied about even having a room matching that description. Didn't offer any solutions. Waste of time and money.
- Pam (9/5): -
- 660mayleed (10/5): Very peaceful and relaxing, bed very comfortable and clean. - Staff was super helpful and very friendly. Had a very nice stay

- shondolyn (8/5): Chester,IL if you are black and not on Meth it's a Meth State - Convince We were lied on about smoking in the facilities...we were not..Staff came in room made our bed but left trash on the floor...When we asked them about it they copped an attitude and walked off...We had to tell them not to come back into our room unless we ask them to...DO NOT RECOMMEND! If you have to visit Chester ,IL travel to surrounding area to stay at Hotel...Especially if your African American, my daughter and I were the only 2 there.Frfr.We went to Walmart to pick up item's and an elderly lady told my daughter don't move here it's a Meth state, stay in Mississippi đź‘€...I'm shocked and amazed it's worse than MS..
- Jacob (4/5): - The stuff at front desks was rude and smart mouth Rude front desk
- Diana (8/5): Nice place - Very clean. Nice staff, very attentive and helpful. Everything was fine
- E937XCellenc (10/5): Very nice! - Chester, IL a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate.
- Chuck (9/5): Everything was good - Everything was good It was loud because the neighbor was yelling alot
- Jennifer (2/5): This place is awful. - Not much to like about this location The room was dirty. Tons of dead bugs in the window sill, sink was dirty, smudges on the walls. The toilet didn’t flush right the whole time we were there. The light above the bathroom sink didn’t work and was never fixed while we were there. The shower drain was super slow and filled up with water. Just not good.
- john (4/5): Better than last stay under prior owner - no meat. Just scrambled eggs, no meat Bed was TOO soft.
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Tamara (10/5): - Very good customer service
- Stottlar (5/5): -
- Anita (9/5): -
- Jessica (3/5): For the amount of money I paid for one single night, I should’ve drove the 4 hours and not stayed there. - Good location. Room was clean. Lights did not work properly, kept flickering. Air conditioner did not work properly, it quit all together in the middle of the night. Body wash was completely empty in bathroom. Freezer in the refrigerator was completely iced over, couldn’t fit a 20oz drink in it. Free Wi-Fi would not connect to phones or the tv.
- markvU74DB (10/5): Best stat ever - Wonderful place to stay rooms are very clean. I have a disability and have a service dog and they welcomed my service dog with open arms in great hospitality. Been staying here for the past year since working in Chester as a professional truck driver
- Carla (5/5): -
- MUSSER-Steagall (10/5): Rested well. Good breakfast . - Good location and nice staff. Noise late at night.

- Linda (10/5): I had a very comfortable stay. Staff was so friendly and helpful. A very nice place to stay. - Away from city lights and sounds. Everything was perfect!
- ChrisS10347 (8/5): Would recommend - Nice place. Clean room and common areas. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Breakfast had a pretty good selection for the type of place it was.
- Dan (6/5): -
- Coleman (10/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): - Amenities were great and the staff was very friendly.
- Cowsert (8/5): -
- LAUREN N (2/5): - Absolutely terrible experience. The bedding in multiple rooms was dirty and clearly unwashed — I had to switch rooms three times because of it. On top of that, some of the rooms were missing latch locks, which made me feel unsafe. The staff did eventually issue a full refund, but the overall experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

- Michael (9/5): Clean comfortable place to stay, and we will definitely return. - They've made good improvements since switching to a Baymont branded hotel. very clean. Air conditioning unit seemed new. Very comfortable. Breakfast was okay - nothing fancy but I didn't expect that. Very quiet. Great place to stay if you're visiting people in the Chester area. There is no elevator to the second floor, but we knew that from previous stays so we were prepared. Breakfast items are somewhat limited (no oatmeal, no raisin bran cereal. Sausage was overcooked. This is somewhat to be expected given there were very few people at the hotel.
- Emma (10/5): - Great staff, clean rooms
- Spivey Jr (10/5): -

- Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful room, but won’t stay there again - Took 30 minutes to get someone at the front desk to check into room. There was ice cream left in freezer. Trash still in trash can from previous guests. Bathroom door would not shut. Balcony door knob was broken. Had to fight to get someone to fix the doors. DVD player in the room but they had no back up for when the dvd player decided it didn’t want to work. They had to swap our tv out because there was something wrong with it. The dial on the hot tub to adjust the jets wasn’t even operational. Had to turn the tub on with a light switch on the wall that was across the room from the tub. The pool was absolutely disgusting. Slime all over the bottom of the pool. As beautiful as the room was, it was not worth the extra $100 I paid to be upgraded to the room that Hotels.com pictured. Also, side note, don’t believe the pictures for this hotel on the app. I thought I was paying for the deluxe suite with the hot tub which was pictured. I was not. I ended up having to pay an extra $50 per night to get upgraded to the room pictured.
- Karen (10/5): - Quiet area with comfortable rooms and very helpful staff!
- Judith (8/5): - Scrambled eggs were awful
- Ronda (8/5): -
- Randall (6/5): - Food was average, scrambled eggs & sausage patties. Room door would not close tightly, could see into the hallway around edge. Deadbolt was only thing holding it shut.
- David (2/5): Pawning off a smoking room - We booked a nonsmoking room. When we opened the door, we were hit by a powerful smoke smell. The manager said there were no other rooms available and they had smoke detectors that would tell her if even a candle were lit. (I believe there are no such devices). She then offered me a half can of smoke masking spray (?). Why did she even have that? We were able to cancel the stay, but were inconvenienced by having to find another room at 10pm! (Notice in the photo this room is the only one without a 'no smoking' emblem)
- Matt (7/5): Clean and adequate. I would stay again but would not be my first choice. - Facility was clean and adequate. Room felt damp to the touch, bed, carpet, clothes. Facility was very dated. The "Best Western" Soap dispensers were still mounted in the shower but had not been refilled in a long time. Breakfast was the exact same menu everyday. It was cold the first couple days and the warming pan was changed out after that.
- Randy (6/5): Problem with air conditioning problem was not taken care of - Location
- Ruth (2/5): - When we arrived, the front desk worker told us our room was canceled. She said someone had called and cancelled. However, we did not cancel the room. She was not accommodating after we had just driven nine hours only to find out they had canceled our room. She tried to have us book a Motel 8 another hour away. There was no explanation how our room was canceled. She couldn’t tell us when the person supposedly called to cancel, the number of their person who called, or a name. It appears they gave our room away to someone else who was willing to pay more money. I had a confirmation number and email showing my reservation. It didn’t matter. If you want to be confident your room will be there when you reserve a room, don’t stay at this hotel.
- Robert (10/5): - just a nice clean place to stay, not very far from shooting complex at Sparta
- Q7512IXchristyl (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great place! Pool was very clean and fun. Beds were comfortable, rooms were very clean, staff were polite and helpful. Water was as hot as you would want it. Breakfast wasn’t anything special but just as you would expect. Coffee was fantastic!
- Robert (8/5): - Breakfast was not great some stale muffins and only a few yogurt one and a little eggs and no sausage
- Rion (10/5): - Was a nice hotel. Covered everything that we needed for our stay.
- Jessie (4/5): - Quite. No elevator. Had to pack our luggage, cooler & other personal items up the stairs. Also ment that if you needed to go outside you had to go up and down those same set of stairs. Not so friendly staff.
- chrisvD1733RM (2/5): Stay Away! - This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in a LONG time! Especially for how expensive it is! The lobby stunk like burnt curry, the first room we were given the AC didn't work, the second room stunk like straight up garbagelandfill, they let a hippo swim in the pool in actual underwear and bra (it was a thong. We did NOT let our kid swim with that), the bathroom door wouldn't close, they didn't refill the soap dispensers in the shower, and they never came around to clean the room in the 4 days we've been here. Oh, and no refunds of course. AWFUL!!!
- Bryan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pressley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynn (9/5): Fine - Did not eat there. Everything was OK
- Mitch (2/5): I would not stay here again. - Nothing No elevator. Staff was not friendly or helpful
Soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in shower were empty. Orange and apple juices were watered down and had almost no taste. Room had a slight oodor.
- Brian (6/5): Road Trip - Breakfast was really awful. Eggs and meat were cold. Tea bags generic. When you pushed the body wash, the thing fell off the wall. In fairness this hotel is just turning over from Best Western to Baymont and I am sure giving it a little time it will improve.
- Victoria (10/5): - Great quick clean stay
- Amy Lynn (10/5): - Very private
- Orourke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jawaun (10/5): Best place to stay from Marissa below - This place is clean I mean Clean.
Owner is wonderful. I stayed in her birthday and wish I could hv gotten her a gift. She’s is simply amazing. The hotel was comfy and quiet. Would definitely stay the remainder of my trip.
- Peter (10/5): - Good
- Michael (2/5): - Lobby was dirty and smelled
- Joan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kenyon (10/5): - Everything was great. Would stay again
- a (8/5): - Pool was not open that was a bummer
- Oleh (10/5): - Monic
- scott (6/5): - While the room smelled fine and looked clean in general, I was disappointed that there was hair stuck on the wall of the shower and one of the washcloths was stained (but it had been washed).
- Dennis (10/5): - Liked the friendliness of staff
- Judy (5/5): Passable - The convenience to the attractions. The desk chair in our room was basically having you sit on the ground. Had to take it to the front desk. The girl got us a new one but looked like she didn't know what to do.
The bed was softer than I would like.
Also, there was no light by the desk.
Vending machines were lacking. Drinks were empty completely. Only about 6 snacks were filled.
- John (6/5): - Overall not a good experience. We had to switch rooms twice due to numerous issues and third room also had issues but by then we just gave up as was too tired. Bathroom sorry with hair balls in shower. Breakfast was not good at all.
- Shelby (10/5): - Very clean, but did not clean the room every other day. We were there for a week and they said they would come clean and give new towel ever other day, they did not.
- Jennie (7/5): We would stay again just not in that room. - The location of our room. The staff was loud.
- Thomas (8/5): - the check in experience was great. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Very convenient as a jumping off point to get to surrounding areas including Missouri and Illinois. Only reason for not 5 stars, pool was not open and breakfast was sparse with no refills at 815 in the morning. Improve the breakfast options and would be a 5 star
- Peter (10/5): - Neat and cool. Services are great
- Kensani (2/5): Yuck! - Never again! I will never again stay at a Wyndham motel! And especially the one in Chester! Mice droppings all over the room! Even on the bed! Brown water out of faucet! Employee handling food WITHOUT gloves! I STRONGLY suggest NOT staying here!!!!
- Firestine (7/5): Comfortable - It was good It was just fine for what I came for..
- T-LSRSFAM (8/5): Chester Il Nice place to stay - Room was clean and check in was very easy and they were very friendly. Breakfast options were limited but what they had was good. Would recommend if you are looking for an overnight stay in Chester. Convenient location to getting downtown Chester and a good jumping off point to find all the statues
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): For sure would stay there again, not many options in this town. - Breakfest was OK, nothing I'd go out and pay for. Nose from the main road outside window was bad early in the morning if room is on road side.
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional - Room size was good. Hotel was clean and spacious and at our time quiet.
- SIMAO (8/5): - Staff was quite courteous and accommodating for a late night arrival. The rooms are basic and clean. There's a little evidence of things falling apart here and there but nothing alarming. Breakfast is simple and filling.
- Richie (10/5): - Great customer service! Very friendly and clean
- Peggy (6/5): - someone ad a dog that was barking and someone in a semi started up at 5am very loudly.
- Jamonee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): - I stay here usually once a month. Its a nice place the staff is very friendly and the price is decent
- D3681HRtimc (10/5): OutstandingService! - Outstanding service on all fronts. Staff went out of their way to anticipate needs and make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Room was in good repair and well appointed. Internet was great! I will definitely be staying here anytime I'm in Chester, IL.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - Great place at a great price. Friendly service
- Fields (5/5): Passable - There was no body wash or shampoo in the bathroom
- C4568ZWmariab (10/5): Happy returning customer - Always a very pleasant experience, not only with the free breakfast included, but with the personnel!! Rooms always smell, super clean and disinfected! Ice machine always working lol Common area is super clean and assessable to everyone
