- Lacey (10/5): Comfort, convenience, and friendly staff made for a wonderful stay! - Thaddeus at the front desk was super helpful and kind, even after accommodating my very late check-in. He answered my questions and he even gave me tips for how to best to get to the tourist spots I was hoping to catch the next day. He had breakfast ready for all of the guests the next morning. My room was super comfortable and I slept well… It was much needed! I liked everything about the hotel just fine… Only thing I can say I didn’t like was the other gentleman who checked in around the time I did who was being a bit of a jerk for no reason.

- Aidan (9/5): Convenient location and great value for the money. - The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. There were plenty of towels and pillows. Josie at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The shower didn’t have hot water (but the sink did). Weird, but not a big deal. The lights outside the room were very bright which I didn’t love but I understand that they are probably there for safety reasons.
- sophiebL831PS (10/5): Last minute stay, friendly staff - We had to make a last minute reservation on our way to Rapid due to inclement weather, and the gentlemen who made my reservation Thaddeus was so helpful and made the check in process seamless. The only thing I struggled with was since the rooms are a bit older they don’t have an odor. But we stayed less than 12 hours so it wasn’t a big deal. The rooms were clean and we slept well. The location is easy to find.

- Meander717205 (10/5): Peaceful & clean - I stayed at the best western Graham’s and Thaddeus helped me book my room. He was extremely nice and helpful which I appreciate after a long day of traveling! Room was clean and had everything I needed. Very quiet and peaceful. I’d stay here again!
- wagaman (9/5): - Breakfast NA
- Stephanie (8/5): - Josie was super friendly and knowledgeable about the location
- A (9/5): - Thaddeus was very accommodating even though we arrived late. Clean and nice place to stay.
- terrigV39GP (8/5): Rooms need to be updated - Rooms are a bit dated. They could definitely use a remodel. The pillows on the beds are very small. It was a decent room for the price. The desk clerk Thaddeus was very friendly and helpful!
- MMadson1 (10/5): Perfect stop! - It was a perfect place to stop, comfortable bed and everything a person needs. Thaddeus was amazing and super helpful when I checked in. I’ll definitely recommend this best western to people!
- Jan (10/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): - The breakfast and the staff were top notch! Would absolutely recommend to everyone! Nothing-all was great!
- Wayne (7/5): Nice location, comfortable bed. - Location was great, breakfast was nice, bed was comfortable. Morning staff was VERY pleasant. Little pricey for what it was. Evening desk clerk was not friendly.
- Nanya (7/5): -
- Sean (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): Overnight on the road - Easy access off freeway Motel, not enough blankets on the bed, room was cool

- T1785AIkm (4/5): Nah. - Trip Advisor needs to re-evaluate this location. This best western was a disappointment. The staff was nice, I'll give them that. Our room had the ball removed from the top lock, and the deadbolt had to be jiggled every time to even shut the door all the way. They do NOT have safe designated pet area. They want you to walk your dog next to the main street. The bathroom was very tiny, with slow flushing toilet and slow draining tub. And let's not forget there was zero service on our phones inside the room (a mix of android and apple, different carriers) but 5g as soon as we walked outside. Very suspicious, and makes their wifi seem even more untrustworthy than a public wifi connection already is.
- Janice (10/5): -
- JulieO1900 (4/5): Way Overpriced and Disappointed - I'm not sure how this BW had a high rating when we searched for lodging. Bathroom was tiny, shower water pooled above ankles, and faucet hardware was not mounted on a stud which caused water pipe to move when turning faucet lever. Carpet was grimy and chemical smell was overpowering. Curtain would not close properly; had to use a suitcase as a weight to hold it in place. Curtain had random cord to hold it to the hardware. Could hear the goings on in adjacent room. Breakfast was the positive point.
- Brad (2/5): -
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Was great place to stay! Will again ty
- David (10/5): - The place was nice, clean room, property was clean
- Irene (6/5): - Lokatie was goed ontbijt redelijk.
- Kary (10/5): - This property is our go to place when traveling in South Dakota. Excellent service, friendly, and an amazing hot breakfast!
- Noria (8/5): Too expensive - Old-fashioned one-story motel, park right in front of your room. Clean & updated decently. Room large, bathroom rather small and sink area not closed off entirely from room. Quiet, in spite of a lot of work trucks parked near our room who left before we woke & we didn’t hear. Better breakfast options than I expected, like biscuits & gravy, yogurt, cereal, etc. People working there were very friendly. Very limited dining options in town. Decent looking pizza place seemed not to be open.Only 1 restaurant, seemed busy, limited parking. We opted to just eat our cheese & crackers in our room. There were 3 other motels, I think, no name brands, but looked fine outside. I was shocked at our cost of $190!!! Half of that might have been reasonable, but not $190. I’d look elsewhere because of price.
- Teresa (8/5): - I booked with Best Western but was surprised that it was a motel. I expected a hotel due to the franchise name. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
- Natasha (10/5): - The staff was so smiley, friendly and helpful- esp the lady staffing the morning breakfast and the man at the front desk.
- Robert (6/5): - Rooms were very dated and worn ,also old motel smell if you know what i mean .
- sharon (8/5): - Everything was good. Breakfast was good. Room was clean
- Chris (8/5): - Staff was very nice and helpful
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Traveling332011 (8/5): Nice place - Room was large and clean. Beds and linen very nice. Breakfast was good, the people were nice. Bathroom clean. Coffee good.
- R6771RGdianep (10/5): Graham's is Great! - There was so much I loved about my stay here, starting with the friendly guy at the front desk. This property is laid out like a motel so we could park directly in front of our door. I really appreciated not having to schlep down a long hallway and multiple floors to retrieve my yoga mat from the car. The room was spacious enough to stretch and work the kinks out after driving all day. The in-room refrigerator was larger than most I've encountered. The bathroom was mighty small though, but we didn't hang around in there much anyway, just what was necessary to get the job done ;)
What a comfortable bed!! I wear a fitness tracker which also monitors sleep and I had the best sleep I've had in months! I need to renovate my own house LOL. I really enjoyed the pancakes at breakfast and the gal working there went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Who needs a luxury hotel when you can get a clean and quiet night's rest at an affordable price.
- 132cheris (10/5): Very comfortable motel to stay in Murdo, SD - This Best Western Graham's in Murdo, SD was very clean and accommodating. The staff friendly and professional. The rooms are exterior doors and make for very easy off-loading of the car in to the room.
- Linda (8/5): - Not with the price.
- Vandana (2/5): - Ok
- Schmidt (7/5): -
- Colbenson (10/5): -
- yorkshireus (8/5): Good Basic Motel - Stayed here on a roadtrip. Basic old fashioned motel. Parked right outside the room. Tv screen scratched but room clean overall. There is a laundry and large outside pool. Plus stuff to clean windshields. Breakfast usual fare. Kind staff
- Ray (10/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - Very friendly.
- Debbie (1/5): - Very friendly staff, very accommodating, and the breakfast was over the top good. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was right next to the laundry...someone else parked in front of our room.It was a glorified MOTEL ...room was really small.
I do have more pictures of how bad the bathroom was.
- Iliyana (8/5): - The room was ok, it was clean. The property is quite outdated for the price we payed. Good location to Badlands national park
- Marian (10/5): Fantastic - Everything was great!
- Rebecca (8/5): - Mattress was very comfortable!
- Lindsay (10/5): Very clean and friendly - Outdoor pool was clean, room was very clean! Breakfast was also really good. Everywhere is walkable in this tiny town and GM Peter was very accommodating when our car broke down and we needed to extend our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
- Brenda (8/5): Clean and comfortable! - Clean comfortable room easy to find. Nothing
- Drew (10/5): - Just a great place.
- Shannon (8/5): - It was essy to find off of I90. Check was fast and the dtsff was very friendly.
- william (10/5): - Very pleasant staff
- Austin (10/5): - Great
- Teresa (10/5): - We came in on our bikes heading to Sturgis. The front desk employee was a amazing and friendly. Coming over to be sure we had everything we needed for the night. He recommended a good place to eat. Was there in the morning to send us off with safe travels and a smile! A little gift for our bikes. We will stay here again.
- giacomo (8/5): Sulla strada - Comodo di passaggio Troppo caro
- Shelley (10/5): - Great property
- Gut (6/5): - Air filter was very dirty. Room was smelly because of that. But linens and towels were clean
- Kari (4/5): - Nothing
- Cynthia (10/5): - The room is very comfortable
- Gwendolyn (8/5): - Older property but well maintained.
- Muffly (8/5): -
- Mary (2/5): - Old rooms musty. Air Conditioner did not work. Super hot no sleep. Asked to change room but non available. Gave us a fan!!! Didn’t help. Asked for a refund they said we had to go through Expedia. How do I do that??? Had to use my credits also on Expedia that I lost.
- Roger (10/5): - Nice
- L2849JEangelal (10/5): This hotel cares! Great staff and quiet rooms. - We rolled into town late. Our bank was closed, and our card was being declined. It was late, and we had been on the road for hours. Staff member, Bianca, did not feel comfortable having us go back on the road without sleep. She trusted that we would get the situation with our card worked out in the morning and gave us the room. We had the best night’s sleep of our entire road trip. This hotel‘s staff truly cares about their customers. The rooms are very quiet and clean. Thank you, Bianca, Peter, and Nadine!!!!!!!!
- Cindy (10/5): - Property was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly.
- darla (10/5): - Great pool !
- Scott (8/5): - The small square pillows were awful, but the breakfast was good.
- Jan (10/5): -
- Mary (8/5): - Staff was pleasant especially the breakfast staff, Josephine, who made you feel very welcome.
Property was well taken care of. Unfortunately the weater was cool, so was unable to use the pool.
- Diane (4/5): -
The room was full of house flies, the guest services asked if i wanted a fly swatter and pulled out 20. Known issue. States they come through the air conditioner. Also have me fly spray. Would not stay there again. No where else to book that night
- Michelle (7/5): -
- Lytle (8/5): -
- Dianna (6/5): - The breakfast was really good! The room was tiny, old, & smelly.
- Kenny (8/5): - Every thing is fine
- Larry (10/5): - A
- Chantal (10/5): - Tout est ok seulement la chambre de bain a besoin de rénovation
- Charles (8/5): - Old times motel...over priced.
- Jean-Claude (2/5): - If you enjoy a property that looks like 1985 this is the place for you. Old run down smelled and just extremely dated. A place like this should not even be allowed to carry a brand....just the smell alone....stay away !
- Lori (4/5): - Room had a stale musty order. Dated & over priced!
- Stacy (10/5): - Friendly front desk and staff overall were great super nice. Bed was wonderful!
- Sunshine611700 (2/5): Just drive on by! - Stayed here on 20 July 2025. Our drive through the town of Murdo, SD was the first indication that this would be our first and last stop here. There are as many empty storefronts as there are open businesses. As for the hotel, this place gets by on the Best Western name and while it may be the best in Murdo, SD, it was easily the worst of four hotels we stayed in on our recent road trip. It was also the most expensive. The photos are very misleading/inaccurate for our single queen room. The woman at the front desk when we checked in could not have been less interested in what she was doing. The room was not cleaned well (urine drips still on the toilet), the air conditioner ran non-stop, I had to clean the filter myself to try and get it to be more effective. It was so humid it felt like everything was wet. The bathroom was so small you had to open the door all the way to be able to step around the toilet and “try” to close the door behind you…but, the frame was so warped it could not be closed. Sad!
- Jerre (10/5): - Perfect for my needs.
- andreay992 (10/5): Excellent - Bionca was so sweet when we came in to get a room Josephine's breakfast was spot on we headed out and discovered we had a flat tire so we returned back to the hotel and Peter was so kind to give us our keys and let us go back to our room but they were already cleaning so he let us stay in the dining area until our replacement rental vehicle was delivered which was about 6 hours Peter also went out of his way to find us a hotel that would accommodate three adults and two children at our next stop we want to thank you all so much
From the Young Family
- Patrick (9/5): A clean, comfortable stay at a reasonable price. - I like that the staff was outgoing and pleasant. The check in process quick and professional. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was adequate water pressure in the shower, which is always a plus. I liked that is was ranch style, with no stairs to climb. The only bad part of the stay had nothing to do with the motel. The town has very limited dining options, due to its size.
- Alex (10/5): - We had a fun time using the pool and eating breakfast. The lady in the dining area during breakfast was very, very nice and friendly.
- David (8/5): - Was so easy to get to, had a decent breakfast and staff was friendly. Beds were amazing! A/C was a little noisy and I couldn’t adjust the fan, but got used to it. And it had a funny odor. Not offensive, just a little funky. For the price and a night stay was pretty decent!
- Gjovik (8/5): Very good - Kind staff, good complimentary breakfast, comfy bed, easy parking Didn’t expect the Motel style, bathroom was a tad dirty, room was musty/stuffy
- James (6/5): - Beds where very comfortable, for the price it was not worth the 1-night stay on a weekday and the breakfast was almost gone by 8am before we got there also bathroom door did not lock
- Josefabraham (10/5): Exceptional - very good location. the room was big and comfort
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): - Front Desk Staff was excellent. Housekeeping hustled, was efficient, and great at customer service. they all were well trained Hospitality Professionals! I did not think that after my surgery I might need an ADA room. Tub could have used a grab bar to climb in and out of the shower. That was my oversight. A/C did not cool very well.
- Susan (10/5): - This hotel has always been a great go to when traveling the vast area of SD. Rooms are small but very clean. Just perfect for a quick stay while traveling. The facility itself is well taken care of and obviously loved. There was a young man scrubbing the oil stains off the parking spaces!
- unlikeanyone (8/5): Clean and easy - This is just about the randomest hotel I can imagine. The town of Murdo consists of almost nothing and there are several other sad looking motels nearby. It was pretty deserted when we checked in, but it lived up to the good reviews. We were especially grateful for the new appliances: air conditioner, fridge, and microwave, as we just came from a camping cabin without any amenities. The room is also very clean with comfy beds and clean linens. Breakfast was surprisingly good and very well-run and clean. It's standard hotel free breakfast fare, but it definitely does the trick. This is especially handy since the town has very little in the way of food. The pool is also quite nice. Nowhere in South Dakota do they seem to equip their pools with umbrellas, which is strange.
I will say that I suspect the walls are quite thin. We were there for the 4th of July and heard every firework purchased in a one mile radius. We had no neighbors but I think if full you would hear every move.
As far as location, the hotel can't change that, but it is close to the Rosebud Reservation and in between other sites like Pierre and the Badlands. It served the purpose for us and we were definitely pleasantly surprised.
- Tammy (1/5): We ultimately did not stay and received a refund due to issues mentioned. - Location was what we looked for The room was not cleaned, beds not made, no pillow cases. After driving 6+ hours, we were disappointed. It is also a strip motel, not a true hotel. We asked for a refund & drove another 2 hours down the road for another hotel.
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Yu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (8/5): - We had a good stay, the property is older but well maintained and clean, good breakfast. Would stay there again.
