• chrishM6359YK (8/5): Charm with some limitations - The overall experience here was good, but a few aspects of the hotel made it less than outstanding. While the fact that it is a converted home provided a lot of charm, it led to some unusual individual room layouts. The room we were in had a shower/bath in the same room as the bed. Since I was traveling with my daughter, this was okay but definitely not ideal. The reception staff were nice, but not overly helpful. They seemed not to be fully informed about hotel operations and the local neighborhood. On the plus side, the breakfast staff were very nice and helpful and breakfast options were good.

• Rowerchick (10/5): Great place near airport. - Super friendly staff and a full included breakfast made this a wonderful introduction to Juneau. Due to flight delays, we were picked up at the airport by the hotel shuttle about 1:30 am. Our room was very clean and comfortable and somewhat quiet - we had the room under the stairs, so heard some walking as guests went up and down. The hot breakfast is served (not buffet) in a nice sitting room. We were asked to give our order for breakfast the night before, so the breakfast came out quickly and hot. This is much better than your standard hotel buffet breakfast. The friendly hotel staff helped us store our luggage at a nearby Best Western for a few days. This hotel is close enough to the airport that we opted to walk over to pick up our rental car.

• Ranjit (8/5): - For a $400 price the facilities are very limited. It is a bed and breakfast, with limited dining options in the vicinity. We were there in July 4th when everything was closed. There is no elevator and I had to carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs.
• Nbranyas (10/5): Exceptional - Staff went out of their way to help us deal with the steep staircase which was too steep for my husband to use the upper floor rooms Accommodations are great - my only complaint is the steep staircase made it impossible for my husband to use an upper floor room. Next time I will certainly add my need for a main floor room in future. We had to move one of our reservation to the other Best Western which had a main floor room - although not anything like your rooms of coursse.

We were looking for a place close to the airport after our trip through the Inside Passage of Alaska and Grandma’s Featherbed was amazing. We wished we could’ve stayed there longer. They went over and above for us. We arrived early and they worked so hard to get us into our rooms early, they shuttled us into downtown Juneau so we could sightsee and shop. We had a lovely fresh dinner in their quaint dining room and enjoyed our lovely room. The attention to detail was amazing. The amenities in the room were charming. Also, our flight was very early - before the breakfast service started so they packed us a very nice “to go” breakfast that we enjoyed at the airport. We were then shuttled to the airport by their 24/7 van. All in all a fabulous experience!

• Jerome (10/5): Unique and charming - This is a small, hotel — unlike the usual Best Western- with a very nice room and excellent breakfast with two made-to-order options, plus pre-packaged and previously prepared stuff. The only thing that took some getting used to was the sink-shower-toilet arrangement, which were not together in a separate bathroom but lined up on one wall of the room. (The toilet with a door, the shower with a curtain, and the sink next to that.). Not a big hassle, just odd. Overall, we were very pleased.

There were no nearby restaurants or stores, so it wouldn't be convenient without a form of transportation (except airport shuttle).

• Awaceaho (10/5): Relaxing and unique - Great breakfast! Friendly staff! The beds are comfortable. Enjoyed the bath tub with jet propulsion - nice after a hike or day in the rain. They also serve dinner. Also enjoyed the cute ambiance - like staying in your grandmother's gingerbread house. The only drawbacks were no on-site laundry but there was laundry one minute away at another location and the room we stayed in had a "decorative fireplace- either make it functional or knock it out and add more windows to get more natural light in the room. Also I would let guests know about refilling your water bottle next to the front desk instead of putting out so many plastic water bottles that pollute the environment. I would definitely recommend this place.

The rooms were a bit small which ended up adding to the cozy atmosphere. Would have enjoyed a comfortable sitting area in either the room or the public area.

Quirky small place with very much a B&B feel. 5 minute free shuttle to airport. 15 minutes to town. Very clean and friendly. Full free breakfast. Free shuttle was a big deal. Juneau is not a cab town and we found Uber to be a bit unreliable. Free shuttle goes to town something like 4x per day and saves a $40 Uber ride. Airport pickup is great. We were very pleased. • JoeCBansteadUK (8/5): Very Comfortable - But Some Issues - This review is relatively objective - this USA road trip encompassed 5 properties in Alaska over 9 nights and a total of 25 over 47 nights. We stayed for 3 nights in June. Excellent pick up from the nearby airport (no noise)/drop off at the ferry port at Auke Bay. Our Deluxe room was large enough, comfortable and well equipped. Twin beds were not available, so a roll up turned the queen bed room into a twin. The shutters were not blackout, so the early sunrise did intrude. Decent linen and towels. The property, which is an old converted house ,felt welcoming and comfortably ‘non chain hotel’ furnished. Plenty of parking out front for those driving. No elevator for anyone with a mobility problem. Check in was efficient, but one of the issues we encountered was that none of the staff had any idea about the public buses that run directly in front of the hotel into town, locally and close to the Mendenhall Glacier NP. Yes there is a shuttle downtown (if you want to experience a massive ‘cruise ship alley’ shopping experience ) but the local buses ran everywhere (every 30 mins) and were tremendous value/much more convenient. No attempt made to even find the necessary information for us and no handouts/timetables available. At a hotel of this standard we expected better. Breakfast was to a decent standard, however, we did not appreciate being pestered/hassled upon completing breakfast to order content/time for the following day! A restaurant is advertised both on TA and on the roadside hotel board. Yes, dinner is available, but on a very limited ‘pre order’ menu.There is no liqour licence and we were brusquely told that we couldn’t drink our own wine with the meal as there were ‘under age’ employees on the premises. Not at all acceptable for a hotel of this class/price. Dining atmosphere zero! There are dining options available locally of the pizza/diner variety. What could have been a wonderful experience was marred by the above issues.

We ate dinner there one evening and the food was very good. All the staff was very Cordial and attentive. The one thing that was really a downside was the shuttle van. It was not dependable. Twice when we were supposed to be picked up at the hotel, they were late, by 30 minutes one time. Another time we called from town and they were supposedly coming then we find out no we have to wait till the allotted time so we ended up waiting an hour and a half to get picked up , so that was disappointing

• 676NICKH (10/5): Great Stay Close to Airport - When looking around Juneau for hotels, there isn't a lot of higher end options. Grandma's Feather Bed was a great stay close to the airport. We arrived after midnight and appreciated their 24 hour desk and shuttle. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made fresh and hot. They have a shuttle into downtown, which runs on a time table so you need to plan accordingly. The hotel is cute and small and fills up quickly. So get a reservation early!

The room was really clean and comfortable. The shower was the best I've had in any hotel. I would give 5 stars and definitely book with them again. Oh, and they have air conditioning which a lot of place in the area do not.
• Esther (10/5): A great hotel - What a special little hotel of 14 rooms this place is. It's about 8 miles outside of downtown Juneau, but they run shuttles to and from town and the airport all day. The rooms are big and really nice, with jacuzzi tubs; lots of towels, waters, DirectTV, etc. A full breakfast is included.

• Ginger (10/5): Great Bed and Breakfast - The staff was very nice and accommodating. Even the shuttle driver was very helpful and went out of his way to help us with our luggage. Our room was cozy, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was really good there. The cook was so nice, she came out and talked with us made sure the food was good and if we needed anything else. She was delightful.

• 793larrye (8/5): Cute with some Logistic issues - This hotel is a converted house and as my wife described it was "cute". There were several positives about the hotel and several items that were not. - The staff was very friendly. - The food at breakfast was pretty good. You had options to eat in the dining room or in your room. However, you had to pick your breakfast and the time (in 1/2 slots) the night before. The same was true if you planned on eating dinner at the hotel. - They have an airport shuttle that is 24x7 (this worked well since we had a 5:20AM flight), and the hotel is only a 5-minute (literally) drive to the airport. This makes it far from downtown and a larger Uber/Lyft cost if you are using them. - The bath/shower area was huge. Nice fluffy towels, and the shower included a whirlpool bath. On the downside, there were french doors right next to the bathroom/shower area, which made it interesting if you got up at night. The toilet was in its own little room with a door, which would not stay open (again only an issue if you have to get up in the middle of the night). - The windows have wooden slats that were easy to close, but not very effective at keeping out light. This is an issue if you like it dark and visit during Spring/Summer when there are 11 hours of Daylight. No room darkening shades. - Free fresh baked cookies! :)

The carpet was soft. The staff looked very professional and were very polite. My daughter and I really enjoyed the French toast and bacon we had for breakfast. The dining area was clean and comfortable. There was nothing I didn’t like. I would have liked it even more if the bathrooms were separated from the room with a door.

The breakfast was excellent and we were given the option of eating in the dining room or having it brought to our room. Lots of food and delicious. The room was so clean and appreciated the options for the Keurig. I would recommend Grandma's Feather Bed to anyone coming to Juneau for even just one night. There is a small refrigerator as well. Appreciate the pickup up and drop off at both the airport and the ferry. All the staff was most congenial. Loved the stay!!

The property is a unique treasure. It’s quiet, clean and the location is very convenient. Parking is so easy. The staff is always very kind and professional. The shuttle is very dependable. Just a really great place to stay. Can’t think of a thing that didn’t work for us.

Room was clean and orderly, bed comfortable enough. I preordered breakfast to have the next day in the dining room which is very convenient. Food was good, and I didn’t have to wait long.
• Les (10/5): - The motel was perfect for me visiting my daughter for the week. Dena and Greg were always friendly and had the breakfast well stocked and ready on time. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the fjord and mountains in the background. An excellent place to stay!

A cozy dining area; a menu of just right meals cooked as you order. Always fresh coffee, tea, fruit and snacks. No tourist crowds. A beautiful Victorian porch awaits your leisure. Colorful flowers and shady trees make the world go away. Personalized service and a chauffeured van take you back to the real world. A place you would be proud to recommend to your friends.
