• Kaitlin (4/5): - Full disclosure, we were refunded for this experience by the hotel manager who contacted us via email about our experience. Cost was ~300$ for a double Queen basic room with the following conditions: - soiled/ rotting paper towels, chewed up gum around the bed frames, dirty, warn and bunched up carpets. - malfunctioning point of sale system at the front desk and broken hair dryer in the room. - Insufficient amount of hygiene supplies for a double Queen room booked for 2 people. - Poor customer service from majority of the front desk staff. (On their phones, unable to attend to issues based on number of staff available or simply throwing their hands up and blaming Expedia with no effort or willingness to resolve the issue) We have a been on a cross-Canada road trip for a week. Every other place we have stayed has been cheaper, cleaner and much more accommodating with zero issues. For these reasons, I would not stay here again.

You can hear every time the doors open or luggage is pulled across the bricks. As it is an airport hotel, this occurs all night/early morning.

Some made a point of greeting us. Lobby minuscule and cluttered with furniture. Elevator efficient. Evening security guard too busy chatting with front desk to notice an elderly woman exiting the hotel and make sure I was okay in a dark parking lot. Yucky stuff spilled in front entryway not cleaned up for the duration of our stay.

• dww2004 (10/5): LIFE SAVERS - The review title says it all. I was to leave Thunder Bay the morning of June 4 and was on my way west. Well in the category of crap happens, I had a flat about 45 mins after I left Thunder Bay. I needed a new tire and it had to be ordered. It was before 9 am and the hotel was next to the tire shop. I took a chance and checked if a room was available. I was lucky and they had not only a room that night but they had it ready by 9:30 am for me. This was life saving. I had been on the road on my way home to Edmonton and I was exhausted. The Desk Clerk was so helpful and most of all, understanding of my predicament. The room was ready and is very comfortable and I feel so much better being next door to the shop and I’ll get a good sleep tonight. THANK YOU!

• NatashaPelt (8/5): Excellent everything ! - Love staying here. TB is a stop over to/from my work site. I stay here for 1-night twice a month, every second month. It’s always CLEAN. The rooms, linens, bathrooms have always been spotless. Toilet paper rolls always full. Rooms are spacious. Beds/pillows comfortable! Curtains close ALL THE WAY to block any light from outside. It’s walking distance to any needed places (coffee, pharmacy, etc), easy for uber to get to, close to the airport (without air plane noise), and they provide you with coffee, tea and soaps (face, body, make up remover towelettes, and shampoo/conditioner) in your room. The AM breakfast is also why I chose this place, always. Hot hearty ready to go first thing in the early AM. Or if you prefer continental. They’re both free. The staff are there, on-hand, professionally dressed, professional etiquette and helpful (and friendly) behaviour (who wants a grouchy staff at 630am? No one). The desk has a cab called and ready the morning of my departure. Only reason I didn’t give 5-star was they don’t have shuttle. It’s a long 20-30min wait at the airport just to get a cab to the hotel. I’m the only one of all my coworkers to stay here- they go elsewhere just for their shuttle service. My work won’t cover expense costs if I take an UberRide (it has to be a cab or shuttle). Oh, Best Western Crossroads also lets me store my food in their freezer overnight since I have a 2-day travel with food. Lastly, they’re not racist here and so far I’ve never been profiled. I feel safe here. No riff-raff in the hotel so I get a good night sleep everytime. Staff have not targeted me and have been very friendly (offering cab services, wake up call, asking if there’s anything else I need for my nights stay). I’m also happy to see lots of minority staff working here. I will continue to stay at this TB crossroad location.
