- Christopher (7/5): - The price was decent Hotel could use a little remodeling.
- Robert (7/5): It was decent price wise and is in a phenomenal location! - Location was awesome! There were a few bugs in the room on bed.
- Reba (7/5): - The beds were very comfortable. I was there to meet and pickup a puppy and the spot that was for the dogs were perfect but had no bags for poo thank goodness I brought my own but it was great access to our room for the pup
- Jeannie (10/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Very clean and comfortable Nothing

- Douglas (5/5): Dissapointment on how run down the Motel is. - Staff was nice and friendly. Location was perfect. Facility is really run down and old. Updating is needed, not your typical Best Western. Sink and tub was very slow at draining.
- Debbie (10/5): My go to stay in the area - Free breakfast was great. Beds comfortable
- Denise (10/5): I will stay again. - You can sit on the porch and rock seeing everyone travel by. It is right beside Legends which has a great food and bar. The view of the mountains.
- Chi Chi (10/5): Was there for a church confrence and the location was great - Room was very comfortable and We were able to walk so many places to eat and the hotel had a FABULOS breakfast at no extra charge. The scenery from our room was magnificent. I would stay there again for SURE
- Leah (6/5): Will not be back we don't think. - All staff has been so nice till this year. There is a wonderful girl.maybe early 30's. We've seen here for years. She is so sweet and accommodating. We talk to her for a while every year. The place used to be really nice and clean. All.staff has been so nice till this year. They hired a older lady. She was very rude and had no manners. She ignored us amd waited on a customer behind us like we never was talking to her. Then after she was done. Started to help us again the phone rang. Answered it which was OK, but proceeded to help them instead of asking them to wait a minute. My husband told her we love this place and stay every year but that was professional. She just ignored him. Its a shame what is happening there. The whole carport was covered by people hanging out and drinking. We are fine with it but you couldn't pull in anywhere. I understand it's Maggie Valley but not everyone is there to party. I do not believe we will stay there again like we do every year.

- Emily (1/5): Uncomfortable and unclean- couldn’t leave quick enough. - Absolutely nothing was good about this hotel. The staff were awful and so was the room. I have been er left a hotel so quick as I did this one. Seriously- I didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower there - it was that dirty. Everything. The beds were awful. They had springs that stuck in our backs all night, long and the bedspread and sheets were super thin, not only that they were dirty. Also, we heard everything our walls were so thin. We are right off the roadway so if you want to hear traffic all night, this place is just for you. we received absolutely no comfort could not sleep because we were so uncomfortable. I have never left a place as quickly as I did this one. If it was possible to write this in the negative category, I would give it as lowest score as I could. The bathroom was awful. We didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower. It was that dirty. The carpeted floors were so old. It felt sticky when you stepped on them barefoot. I will never stay at another best western just because of my experience at this one.
- David (8/5): Very good - Good location Quite & clean
- T2269TSdavidm (10/5): Good value - Everything was good. Some people expect a luxury hotel at a bargain price. Was clean and comfortable. Check in lady was nice. We just needed a place to rest up so we could ride again.
- Kisha (10/5): Nice friendly staff and a good location to things we wanted to do. - Location and price
- 73ronniep (4/5): Old Hotel nothing like the pictures - Thought it was a lot nicer looking at the pictures,, need to update pictures,, will not stay again,, cost too much for this old Hotel
- Tabitha Corinne (1/5): T Tianna was the only good employee, including the owners. Everyone was so rude to us, our key cards didn’t work the toi - Tianna was the only good employee, including the owners. Everyone was so rude to us, our key cards didn’t work the toilet was stopped up when we got there they blamed us. Beds were horrible. Nasty bathroom. - Teresa (10/5): - Very good location
- Christy (10/5): - Staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Parking was adequate. Breakfast included a wide variety of items to choose from: waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, juices, coffee, teas, cereal, yogurts, etc.
- JOHN (10/5): - Very attentive staff. Good breakfast as well
- charlotte (10/5): - Close to the attractions, we wanted to see the room was great Bed’s very comfortable
- David (4/5): - Had to leave a day early would not refund the day stated expedia would have to refund. Expedia said hotel would have to refund. Will not use expedia again or stay at mountain brook again
- Betty (8/5): -
- Jada (10/5): Comfortable and perfectly located. - The workers at the front desk were very friendly and our hotel was very clean and comfortable.
We were there for Southern Rock Woodstock, and it was within sight of the location, so that was perfect for us.
Maggie Valley was absolutely gorgeous, and having a nice clean spot to sleep made it even better. We loved it all!
- Lloyd (9/5): -
- Valerie (8/5): - Nice!

- slw642000 (2/5): Not a good experience - We stayed one night here, and that was enough. I get bugs are a part of life, but to see them walking across the ceiling and on the floor is just too much. We found 4 or 5 stink bugs. Seeing them walking on the ceiling creeped us out. One could walk over the bed and fall on us during our sleep. Big gap under door just lets them in. First look at bathtub looks like a mat, but it's not. It was so dirty, they had a mat in there at one time, and now you can see the dirt ring from where the mat was. Rusty fixtures, and some kind of nastyness on the face tissue dispenser. One good note, the bed looked and smelled clean at least. Would I ever stay there again, NO!
- Pam (8/5): - Best Western Mountainbrook is our go to when we visit the NC mountains. It's central to all we do, walkable to several places in the valley, and pretty quiet, all things considered. Continental breakfast is very convenient. Desk and breakfast staff friendly. Floor in bathroom was not well cleaned, but overall the property was very clean. Will stay there again.
- Harry (10/5): - Perfect..!!!
- Amanda (10/5): We will always stay here when we visit - Staff is always friendly and helpful
- Kay (10/5): - Front desk people were very friendly and accommodating.
- Loyd (10/5): - The town was amazing! The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for.
- Glenda (4/5): - Did not honor my request. My 86 year old father had to walk up and down steps to the second floor after I called and was guaranteed a first floor room. Have stayed here for years and I guess we will go somewhere else.
- samantha (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff
- Greg (8/5): -
- Paulette (10/5): Annual Fall Ride - Wonderful stay as always. Clean rooms, helpful staff
- Steve (6/5): - It was in a good location biker friendly polite staff price was fair bike trailer parking was easy free light breakfast I would stay again .only negative thing was the water draining in the shower and sink.
- Ann (10/5): - Liked all of the people
- Gale (10/5): - The management went out of their way to make sure everything was satisfactory. They were hard working and very welcoming.
- Debbie (9/5): - Room was nice. I had to cancel Wed. And Thursday and was told I would not be refunded by booking.com. very sad about that
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful view, needs a little TLC - The gentleman that checked us in was not friendly, would not return greeting, and mumbled in low voice, couldn't understand most of anything he said. All the "important" things were very clean, bed & pillows comfortable. Liked the window beside vanity mirror for lighting, as we know hotels never have adequate lighting for getting ready at the mirror. Bed, table & counter surfaces, sink, tub, toilet all appeared very clean, no bed bugs were apparent (I always check). But other things could use a good scrubbing - the window shade slats on the window next to the mirror were thickly corroded with dust, the bathroom floor and wide crack between the baseboard and door frame, both behind the bathroom door, had not been cleaned in awhile. The crack was filled with spider/cobwebs, and floor behind door is not being swept and mopped. Housekeeping needs to close door when cleaning bathroom floor so they can see behind door. We enjoyed the rocking chairs and the mountain view from the front balcony, but not the spiders in numerous spider webs along the balcony and other outside areas. With just a little bit of TLC this could be a perfect place to relax in this beautiful little part of the world.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for…. - Place was convenient and you could walk to places to eat. Front desk was very nice. Room was dark and sad. Bed uncomfortable.
- Vicki (10/5): Vacation 2025 - Our stay was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great also.
- Wenrong (10/5): - Good
- Lynn (8/5): - Room was clean. Outside needs more trashcans. Outside also needs some updates.
- Debbie (8/5): -
- Gertrud (8/5): - The best part was the breakfast but Tianna
- Kevin (8/5): - Good value for the$. Decent breakfast, clean, quiet and good location.
- Tillman (9/5): -
- Mark (7/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): - Good staff, good breakfast, the area I wanted.
- Renee (4/5): - Room smelled musty and the sheets were damp. We had to ask for new sheets. What they should of done is move us to a another room.
- Nelson (2/5): - Mold in bathroom and old technologies. I had to change rooms and buy detergent to clean before using the bathroom and other things. This is not what you want to do when you are looking for relaxation. Unbelievable that I had to clean myself to feel more comfortable.
- Nathaniel (10/5): - I stay at this hotel whenever I am traveling through the area.
- Barbara (10/5): - Everything I liked it all
- Sarah (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay.
- Paul (7/5): everything was good. - The location and price. Its an older motel.
- Florence (2/5): - The staff were friendly. The room smelled strongly of damp. There were stains on the ceiling, from what looked like previous leaks. The bathroom floor wasn't clean, dirt and hair in the corners and behind the toilet. Stains on the towels, and the shower could not be moved as the pipe was loose on the wall. The front door didn't seem very secure. Over all we definitely would not stay here again.
- Cynthia (4/5): - Mold was on the headboard and very musty smelling.
- Phyllis (5/5): Would choose another location if we come back to area. - The beds were comfortable It took three tries to get an acceptable room
- Lorrie (8/5): - Room was really clean and the beds were comfortable and the check in staff were excellent. But I felt like the carpet was dirty based on the way my socks looked after walking around. It’s probably true in a lot of hotels, but it’s why I couldn’t give five stars.
- robertdTN (6/5): Clean rooms in need of updates and renovation - I made a last-minute decision to visit Maggie Valley for the weekend and get away from the heat and humidity back home. This was my second stay at this Best Western location since Covid. Although the room was clean per se, the carpet was old, musty and in need of replacing. In fact, even though I could tell the bathroom had been cleaned, the tub had an old and faded look. The HVAC could not keep up with circulating air, so the room remained musty and humid. The front lobby/breakfast area is very small and only seats a few guests. The hotel is in a good location near dining and the fairgrounds but in dire need of updates and renovation. Looking at the reviews over the past year, the consensus is good hotel, needs updating.
- Jason (8/5): - This hotel was clean and very adequate for our limited needs. It does show some wear and tear in places. And for some reason the water is weird. I would expect to find hard water in the mountains. But instead the water is like a hotel at the beach where it won't let shampoo lather up and feels like it isn't washing the soap off.
- Frances (8/5): Very good - Great location, comfy beds, wonderful staff Hot tub was out of order
- Wayne (8/5): - I liked everything about the property
- tanyathomas765 (10/5): Awesome!! - The bed was amazing, the pillows was flat tho :-( but bearable. The view was awesome! Loved the rocking chairs on the porch.
- Scott (10/5): - rooms were very clean and nice, staff very friendly
- Benjamin (10/5): - Loved the location
- Robin (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (10/5): - Nice place and all staff was very friendly and helpful
- Hurshell (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (10/5): - Location was great, room was very clean. Close to everything and they even provided a list of local restaurants which was extremely useful. Planning to return in the fall.
- Janet (4/5): - Room was just like the pictures. No surprises - it was a safe place to sleep with a lot of restaurants for dinner near by. Friendly staff and the breakfast was pretty good!
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (10/5): - Good
- Yasti (10/5): - Great stay and staff
- SUNILDASWANEY (4/5): Try to find a better place! - This Inn is as basic an Inn as you can get and is ok if you want to break your long drive, have a place to sleep overnight(as you are tired to drive in)which is exactly what we wanted to do.Nothing at all more than that. No repeat value of any sirt
All of the staff however (except Sunny who was extremely rude, unfriendly and unhelpful)were extremely friendly and courteous.
Taking into consideration the quality of the room given to us,the price of same was outrageously expensive
- Rebecca (6/5): - Overall it was okay. We booked a king room with a "balcony" and thought we had read creek view. The lady at the front desk was polite and friendly but laughed and said the only creek is across Hwy 19 and isn't visible from the hotel. That was disappointing but no big deal. The balcony is actually the walkway in front of the rooms and it faces the parking lot and traffic.Just understand that it's not a private sitting balcony from your room. The room was very clean, bed was old but tolerable. The noise from the traffic was annoying and kept us awake. The hot tub is in repair and appears to have been out of service for quite some time due to it's appearance. The pool area was clean and accommodating.
The breakfast was good and plentiful! Again, staff were friendly, acommodating and honest.
We probably would not stay here again, the noise from the traffice was a factor for us.
- Jay T (6/5): The wet carpet ride - There was an issue with the refrigerator in the room and it flooded the floor with water. We needed to get about a dozen towels from the desk to dry up the mess and leave towels on the floor to avoid the wet carpet.
- Russell (8/5): - Nice area saw a elk walk by at back of property and saw 2 wood chucks/groundhogs on the neighbors property
Nice place to visit Maggie Valley
Plan on going back
- Edwin (8/5): - Good place to stay. The breakfast was really good. They had drinks and snacks available. Ice
Nice clean room
- Holly (10/5): Nice Place - Good hotel for the price. Breakfast was good, nice pool and a good location.
- Sandra (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay there, but wish they had an area to sit in rather than the front porch by the parking lot. Nice breakfast. Yes I would say there again and recommend this place.
- dong896 (4/5): Mediocre at Best - Pros:
The room was nice. AC worked great, bed was comfortable. Pool was nice
Location was OK.
Cons:
Physically, the place is definitely getting a little tired.
Nothing is complementary. $2 for a supermarket brand bottle of water, or a small sized bag of chips.
Free WiFi was brutally slow.
- Sharon (6/5): Not what I expected from the hotels.com site or in - I expected more for the best Western. It would be what I consider an average hotel nothing extra. The proprietor put stuff in the lobby for sale snacks, and all and charge exorbitant prices which I didn’t buy any. The people were not that friendly. All in all, I will not stay here again it was not what I expected on hotels.com or in person
- deniseb979 (6/5): If you need internet, avoid - Desk clerk was OK, more interested in playing games on his phone than customers. HVAC was ridiculously noisy but room was clean, breakfast had options besides carbs. Internet was so slow as to be almost non-existent. It took most of the evening to get my report sent in
- Travis (3/5): Will not stay again - It was close to the fairground that’s about all it had going for it. Stains on duvet cover. Blood on sheets/ceiling/walls. If you expect to use a pull out couch bring your own sheets. They are not provided (the little Indian guy will come in your room uninvited and argue with you about it)
